COMMUNITY! COME-UNITY! If you are looking for a deeper way to connect to Orlando, the local farmers and foodies, and support small businesses then you have found the right place! I've been going to Audubon Market for over a decade and it has been an evolving, unique, inspiring and ever-growing exchange between local growers, makers, and bakers and the people who make up our beautiful community. Its offerings change from season to season, but what stays consistent is the hyper local focus. It's part of my weekly self-care ritual, and I've created many long lasting relationships here.
On a typical Monday, I can expect to see C.M. Bakari with sourdough bread, Fleet Farming with seasonal veggies, Orlando City Kombucha, Zenn Naturals with Goats Milk & Veggies, HT Farms with honey, Wild Ocean with fresh caught seafood, 2nd Breakfast with seasonal fruit, Good Fills with refillable cleaning products, and Ceylon Hut's delicious Sri Lankan food. There are other farms and vendors that come and go throughout the seasons. Everoak Farm is one of my favorites and they carry seasonal fruits, vegetables, eggs, and chicken. There are delicious food pop ups like Tume's vegan Peruvian food, El Tinto's outstanding Colombian food, Dean's Oyster Bar, Antolena's Chill Blends popsicles, and the BEST cookies in town from MidMod (she also sells plant starts). There's middle eastern food, fresh flowers, micro greens, goat cheese, soaps, gluten free and vegan baked goods, waffles, local grown mushrooms, takoyaki, fresh pressed juices, and even locally harvested sponges! It's incredible!
I recommend getting there right at 5pm when they open, because the more popular items will sell out fast. I do my weekly shopping here, and I also plan on getting dinner while I'm there. They have lots of seating with picnic tables and bistro tables outside, and indoor seating if you eat at Stardust, where they also serve beer, wine, coffee & tea. They also have live music which creates such a great atmosphere! It's dog friendly, kid friendly, and grandma friendly. Bring the whole gang! They always put out toys or chalk to entertain the littles, and my son has made many friendships at market. If you can't find street parking, you can park at Audubon Elementary School and walk over. Bring reusable bags for shopping, and don't forget your water bottle! (It's hot out there especially in the summer!) Almost every vendor accepts cash or card. If you have EBT, there is a Snap! Program table where you can get your money matched in Florida produce! So if you have $10 in EBT, you get another $10 in Snap bucks to spend on local Florida produce! It's a really great program.
I hope to see you there soon, and I hope you come say hi friend!
