@leoperezphotos - Chef of the Year in Mexico is so well deserved! Server Jose knows his wine and food so well - great dishes, mole, tender octopus, creative tres leches. Jose is a real pro. A wow kind of must-visit restaurant.

Delicious restaurant with great service—we especially enjoyed the short rib, Red Pipián (pork ribs), the Chancla Poblana, the mezcal-based drinks, the soup, and the salad. Point is, you can ask the staff for their recommendations & enjoy! So good we went twice during our short stay in el Centro.

I had the tuna tostada and octopus in chile ancho adobo. Both dishes were delicious. The tuna was the perfect sized starter for one. The octopus was perfectly cooked - yummy charred bits and super tender. The smoky ancho adobo was nicely balanced with creamy avocado dotted around the plate. The chile crisp type of salsa was also incredible - wish I could take home a bottle - haha! The atmosphere was friendly, welcoming and unpretentious. Best spot I’ve dined at in Puebla so far. A must visit if you’re in Puebla!

Excellent service, great atmosphere and presentation of dishes, but the food itself was not very good. Chileatole was very average and didn't have anything interesting going for it in terms of flavours. And the duck tamal was simply terrible: no flavour in either the tamal or the duck, the chocolate in the mole was the only dominant flavour, there were barely any spices in there it seemed.

If you're the type of person who likes mole, this restaurant is for you. They have different types of it and each dish is incorporated with it. I'm not the biggest fan of mole but I liked some of the dishes we had especially the lechon, the mole there was green and had a lighter taste compared to the others. They also have plenty of awards so I believe that proves a lot already. It's like a fine dining place but they don't have ac. The servers are very attentive and really worth the tip.

The food was amazing. I had the beef tongue tacos and el mole poblano with chicken. Both amazingly delicious. The homemade tortilla chips, bread and dips were all very yummy too. The only thing I didn’t like was the music. It was just some kind of really tacky dance tracks on repeat. It really wasn’t necessary. Service ok. Although they had an English menu, the waiters didn’t really speak English. But the food was excellent so I’d recommend it.

The space is beautiful and the service was excellent. The food tasted more like traditional home cooking. We tried the lechon and pork ribs with different moles. The mole poblano was good. Did not like the tres leches cake at all.

I was in Puebla for a few. Days and looked up a few lists, and asked locals where to get mole. This place was reasonably priced but has more of a fine dining feel. The waiters are a bit formal, in a nice way. I enjoyed being there, the mole was very good, but perhaps the show stopper was the knock me down chocolate flan. One of the best things I had in Mexico. So if you're looking for a nicer restaurant for mole, and other Mexican dishes, check out this place. I'm a fan.

Best dinner in Puebla and that's saying something in a city full of great food. Service was top notch, thank you to our waiter Rafael. They made me a dinner with the pipian rojo vegetarian. It was terrific. I hope they add it to the menu. Appetizer of tlacoyos was delicious, followed by enchiladas, one with each sauce, and the special veggie dish afore mentioned. Can't wait to come back

I don't spend a lot of time planning out my trip, but I do love researching where to eat and this place was high on my list for their updated versions of traditional Puebla food. Everything about this place was great, from the service to the food. Since I don't speak Spanish and most of the staff didn't speak English, Chef Arturo came out because he spoke good English. He gave me a full explanation of the moles and everything on the menu. He also sent out bites of food and different sauces for me to try. The house mole was probably the best mole I've ever had and I wanted to lick the bowl clean. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a nicer meal in Puebla!

Food is very basic, ordered all recommended dish and not tasty. The run out off the blanco mole which is what we were going to get. So the manager girl came and ask how can they made up, and she said how about order another steak. I thought it will be on house, but it's actually on our bill. That's the way they made up their problems. Then just say sorry and don't "made up" And finally, the biggest bummer is the server Joe. Both my husband and I agreed that he is the worst server that we have encountered in the world. He never smiled never greeted us, looked like we own him a lot of money. He didn't say anything just drop the menu on the table. Always tried to take our cup or dish away even after we told him to leave it. When we trying to order he just say everything we wanted was no, and pointed at the most expensive main course over and over. Btw, this 400 sucking pig dish is just ok. When we ask for the check, he just drop off the check without saying anything. During the card charging no words as well, just looks grumpy and silent. How on the earth this is an acceptable service. Why he can be server for the high end pricing restaurant. So for the first time in our life, we didn't leave a tip! Yeahhhh

We went to a number of Mexico City's finest restaurants, but this gem from Puebla beat them all. The mole poblano sauce was exquisite, a perfect explosion of sweetness, bitterness and spice, the bone marrow appetizer was one of the most perfect dishes I've ever had in my life, the pipian verde pork belly was another complex balance of delectable textures and flavors and the desserts were excellent as well. What we appreciated most of all, beyond the patient and attentive service, was that the chef didn't need to hide behind exotic ingredients transformed into unrecognisable forms, but rather, took traditional dishes and made them sparkle as brightly as they possibly could. With such reasonable prices for this kind of quality, if you're in Puebla for even one night, you should make sure dinner at Augurio is on your itinerary.

Augurio is the best restaurant in Puebla! I have been here for a month and I had the opportunity to visit several fine restaurants. This one is by far the best! I ordered tongue, and it was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, served over a bed of salsa verde and rice. Prior to my dish arriving, they brought to the table a sample of their mole. It was divine! A perfect balance of flavors. I will definitely come back to have the mole. Both, the service and the Margarita were excellent.

Had a big group and wait staff was super accommodating. We all ordered something different and were not disappointed. Even got to try the famous mole de caderas. Staff was very helpful explaining the long process required to be able to enjoy this particular dish. Overall, a great experience!

Highly recommended. We ate here during a week stay in Puebla. Really amazing spot to sample authentic pueblan cuisine presented in a modern setting. The food is inventive and delicious, with fair prices for what it is. Worth a try!

Great find just a 1/2 block away from Museo Amparo. It drew our attention Because it was filled and with mostly local people. It's location is in a boutique hotel and so the styling and the decoration is very nice. The waiter was professional and took command right away. We were given a sampler sope with chicken that was delicious and light. We started our meal with a gin and tonic that was fresh with swirls of citrus and cucumber. The dishes we ordered were a selection of appetizers, salads and soup's. Each were prepared skillfully and gave us a great flavor of the regional dishes.

This was the most delicious meal we had and the price point was quite reasonable. The menu is complex, staff is attentive and everything is scratch made. Highly recommended.
