One of my favorite wineries. They have a decent amount of space outside to seat and enjoy your wines. They have lots of tables, specially in their patio on top of the hill. They also have a couple of tables at the bottom of the hill. The wines are really good and their wide selection makes it easy to find a one that will love. They have a wine tasting. They do charge $5 but you get keep the wine glass you do your tasting in. The staff are really friendly. Unfortunately for us we went when it was busy and the staff wasn’t as helpful as other times. I understand since they had many people doing the wine tasting at the same time as my group. It just means you got to be patient and take time tasting your wine. Once you are done with your wine tasting you can purchase items in their store to enjoy alongside your wine such as crackers, cheese, and pizzas that make. They have a live music on the top patio but if you prefer quite you can sit in the bottom patio. You are also allowed to bring in food. Overall a great experience. Can’t wait to go back!!!

Google
Nice winery in the heart of Augusta. Tastings are $10 for 4. They have a nice shaded patio (“Augusta Wine & Beer Garden”) with live music just up the hill from the tasting room.

Google
The service was not the best, nobody explains what you are taking! They simply give you the wines to try and sheet with the numbers of wines and leave you to your own devices, ask them if they had a service to chop some cheese and they responded in the worst way, not wanting to serve you! I don’t like the experience.

Google
Friendly service and great wine with really good pricing. Nice little spot!

Great live music, enjoyed both the tasting room and the wine/beer garden. Nice selection of wines and beer.

Love the outdoor space! There’s always great live music playing and the River Valley Blush wine is so delicious. I’m a sweet wine girl and this one is ideal!

I don't normally leave detailed reviews, but I wanted to take a moment to mention something nice and deserving. I took some time visiting Missouri wineries in Augusta, Hermann, and St Genevieve (almost ten wineries) and this was the only one with trained staff at the tasting. I wish I had gotten the girl's name, but she was professional, passionate, friendly, and knowledgeable about her workplace. As a wine lover, it was pleasant to see a shimmer of quality in a Missouri wine experience. Hope she can continue doing what she loves and I thank you all for the wonderful service!

Relaxing within a peaceful setting enjoying fine wine is the goal than this is the place to come. Outside food welcome. Capture the day's best outside.

Yelp
We spent an hour browsing the adorable winery while waiting for the tour bus. It made an impact with all of us as soon as we walked in. The atmosphere was light and fun with many people at the bar or browsing. They appeared to have a nice selection of wine as far as an occasional wine drinker could tell. Service was wonderful and the staff were friendly, knowledge and professional. The interior has a rustic, comtempory vibe with a large u-shaped bar. The sample line was busy and the bar seats were almost full too. High top cocktail tables were scattered throughout. There is a refrigerated case filled with all types of cheeses and meats for a nice picnic or Charcuterie board at home. It's helpful having two entrances into the building. It cuts down on the congestion and it quickens the turnover. The side entrance opens up to a beautiful view of Mount Pleasant Estates. Everthing on the grounds is pristine including the stunning statues of a mare and colt. They have an excellent map of everything on the estate and the map is extremely legible. Today, they were set up for an outdoor wedding with a gorgeous view of the hillside. The white arbor and chairs were attractive even without guests against the green grass and the lovely landscaping with the sun starting to set. If you are touring winery's, add Augusta Winery to your list. They have several Winery in Augusta. Maybe plan to take the cruise of the Mississippi River before or after the cruise. Augusta is an adorable little, cozy town.

Yelp
My friends and I visited here for the second stop of our winery day. We shared a sangria pitcher, and it was pretty good! The ladies working at the counter inside were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We didn't get anything to eat, but I noticed they have a fridge full of ingredients for sale to make your own charcuterie board, such as cheeses, meats, and crackers. I would love to try their wine flight next time I visit! We absolutely loved the beautiful covered patio area. The surrounding views aren't necessarily anything special, but the grapevines above definitely make up for it! There's plenty of seating options for small and large groups. We also enjoyed their live music. When we were ready to move onto our next stop, the trolley shuttle picked us up right outside the entrance of Augusta Winery.

Yelp
When we stay in Washington, Missouri, our winery hopping itinerary goes: (1) Montelle Winery, (2) Augusta Winery Tasting Room, (3) Noboleis Vineyards, (4) Balducci Vineyards and (5) Blumenhof Winery. With Augusta second in the line up. What we love about Augusta Winery Tasting Room is that it's a quick stop on our trail where we can do a tasting at the standing bar and be on our way. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We always leave with a couple of bottles in hand.

Yelp
Weekends of live music under grapevines drinking wine is the best! Julie is the best!

Yelp
Augusta winery was our first stop on our wine excursion! We really enjoyed this location. It was casual and just what we needed to start our day off. We came when they opened so the beer garden was no opened as yet. There is some seating outside but they do not serve food at this location. You get 4 samples of wine for I believe $10. Their pricing of their wine is very reasonable as well! I suggest making this spot your first stop before venturing to the other wineries!

Yelp
Last day of August? I guess ta write a review of Augusta! Wine not?! Had a stellar time learning more about the winery scene this past weekend when we visited this quaint tasting room in the heart of Augusta. Walking up to their front door we were overcome with the charm of this historic winery. The beautiful blue pickup truck parked outside was a nice touch. Had to snag a photo of that one! The selection of wines offered at Augusta Winery was so well curated, and the descriptions made each wine sound so delicious that it was hard to choose. Since we had just come from another winery, we decided that we were just going to imbibe in one full pour instead of the tasting option. The charming woman helping us decide on a which wine we would like was kind enough to let us know we should just buy a whole bottle instead of by the glass. Don't threaten me with a good time!! It was a generous suggestion that kept our budget in mind. The wine we selected was the traminette which was described as a fragrant white wine that finishes dry while boasting aromas of lychee, white peach, citrus and honeysuckle that will soar from your glass. The finish of Traminette is persistent and refreshing with a hint of spiciness. While I don't typically like white wine, this one really hit the spot on a hot summer day. It was crisp and refreshing without being too overly sweet. The side patio at Augusta Winery was so intimate. With vine covered walls, you were shaded from the sun and the traffic on the street. We loved listening to the musician who was keeping us entertained while we enjoyed our glass of wine. Augusta Winery provided an impeccable experience that added to a perfect day enjoying the best Missouri has to offer. Absolutely will be returning again soon to try more of their delectable wines.

Yelp
Cute lil winery, close to STL and with a pleasant drive. Large parking lot but then was very confused by the top bottom situation. It appears there is a bottom part of the winery and then a top, mini winery next to the patio? Anyways, we sat at the top patio which was very spacious and then wandered around for a while confused and stumbled upon the mini house up above (near the bathrooms). We ordered a white wine flight and they did NOT disappoint! Fun flavors like lychee and jasmine and spicy made this flight more interesting than most. Would be back for the wines alone!

Yelp
I've heard about the Hoffmanns taking over much of Augusta. This includes 2 of my favorite wineries, Augusta and Montelle (formerly owned by the same company). Went to check a few places out yesterday. Augusta was, last I recall, offering free tastings. Some wineries in the area charged and maybe they were too. Usually that was $5 for 5 wines or $10 for 5 and keep the glass. Now it is $15 for 4 wines. You get to keep the glass. Waste of resources (can you tell I'm a bit of a minimalist? Offer a $10 tasting and no keeping the glass and maybe I'll try.) The tasting room is small and there is no indoor seating, but you can walk to the Biergarten up the hill. They have a sign that says no outside food, which is a shame because their grab and go food section isn't impressive. They ought to clear out some of the wine gifts/souvenirs and expand that section. I think they're planning on adding a restaurant across the street soon. (I think outside food is still allowed outside, but don't quote me).

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick curbside pickup of their famously delicious Vignoles wine. My favorite. Pulled up, called it in, and on my way in under five minutes. There was not a soul in the place in the early afternoon and if I had not been in a hurry to get home I would've stopped in to shop in their tasting room. It's a fantastic little winery that's an Augusta favorite right on the corner with great parking and friendly service. Please visit or pickup their wine at Schnucks or Dierbergs and show this small business some love!

Yelp
Cool place love the vine garden ! the wine tasted great! no plastic cups here! live music was a bonus !

Yelp
The wine is really good here but there are better wineries in the area than Augusta Winery IMO. I judge wineries based on variety of wine, view/atmosphere, food, entertainment, and prices. This Winery doesn't have the best view in town. There's actually no view here. This Winery consists of a few facilities all in a row on a hill. The tasting room is at the bottom of the hill. Then you'll come to a facility with restrooms. Then there's a small parking lot. Then there's the wine and beer garden. Then there's another facility with food, wines to buy, and more restrooms. It's odd. The wine garden is large with outdoor seating under a canopy of grapevines, and there's a fountain in the center. I came here on Saturday with a large group, and the entertainment was a steeldrummer. He sounded like a karaoke singer but was good with his instrument. The music sounded like elevator music, which we all agreed on. For food they have a few different thin crust pizzas to choose from, sausage, and cheese. Everything is kind of overpriced, but the pizzas are pretty large. I had a buffalo chicken pizza which has a lot of blue cheese on it. If that's not your thing, then you won't like it. The cost of a bottle of sweet (River Valley White) wine and 1 pizza was $27! The wine was really good though. Augusta Winery is close to several other wineries, so it's a nice stop for doing a day of winery-hopping, but I'd recommend not making this your "main event."

Yelp
My favorite winery in the Augusta AVA. Great wines and even better staff. We spent we spent the afternoon listening to live music and enjoying their wines. If you think all Missouri wines are sweet visit Augusta winery and let them change your mind.
google avatar

Madison N.

Yelp
Best winery in Augusta, hands down. They have a nice variety of dry wines, not only the sickening sweet wines that a lot of wineries in Augusta carry. Their outdoor area is great on the weekend which is partially covered with ample seating. Keep a look out for their live music which is always a great band that's entertaining. The best part? I believe they're the only winery in Augusta that allows you to bring in your own food. It's such a great environment here, where being able to bring in delicious cheeses and snacks is a huge plus. I've taken my parents here for every mother's and father's day the past 5 years for this very reason!

Yelp
The wines are nice and affordable, the food is tasty, and the ambiance is charming. We stopped for lunch while we were biking the Katy Trail. We shared a bottle and enjoyed the Italian pizza, which hit the spot. The dining area is outdoors under a lovely pavilion. You don't have views necessarily, but it's a nice area under some greenery. Plus they had a love musician who was pretty good. Overall a fun stop in Augusta!

Yelp
Nice little winery. The bar is super gorgeous and has a giant owl made of wine bottle caps and recycled pieces. The staff was very friendly and informative; I learned a lot about the wines and how they are made. The wines were a little dry for my taste except for the ice wine which was amazing. Definitely check it out if you like sweet wines. I also enjoyed the blush wine.

Yelp
Hosted a surprise party for my mom. 70 years. The staff, Jessica, the manager and Mary, the bartender were especially good to work with. The wine garden was beautiful. We were able to arrange tables and make a nice space to enjoy the great assortment of wine, tasteful musician, and quietness of the Augusta winery. They had a great assortment of wine. I prefer sweet and they had several great ones. Also, our kids were able to have some "kid wine." Two flavors! The bathrooms were close, clean, and cool. All and all it was a great place to hold a party or relax with friends or family. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This has been my husband and I's favorite winery for years. We always end up buying the most wine here. It's not fancy, but the wine speaks for itself and of course the staff are also always lovely!

Yelp
Really good, we stopped by on a bike winery tour. Really fun wine garden with live music and meat and cheese for sale. Friendly staff but only comment is that the river valley white is like simple syrup but fun vibes.

Megan G.

Yelp
We came on a snowy, cold Thursday at the end of January for my birthday. We weren't anticipating much in the way of customer service in the area (seeing as it wasn't high tourist season and most places were closed), but were 100% happily surprised by Jessica. She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We had a phenomenal time trying wines while learning about their winery. We will absolutely be back, and bring our friends with us. They had a great selection of wine and we were told there is even live music in warmer months.

David P.

Yelp
I really like the Vidal Blanc and the Seyval Blanc wines. My problem is I was charged $14.95 a bottle that I have bought at a local grocery store for $6.95 a bottle. I will continue to buy and drink those wines. I just won't be visiting Augusta and going to their winery to buy wine anytime soon. I feel like they ripped me off.
google avatar

Dave S.

Yelp
You might want to consider springing for glasses for the person running your wine and beer garden. She apparently is unable to read the sign that says the garden is open until 6:00 PM.
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
We drove here, but would have been just as happy finding this place after a bike ride on Katy trail. Good wine, refreshing white for a hot day to drink in the nice wine garden. Snack food available to purchase and eat in garden also. Unfortunately no scenic views. The band was nice while in garden too.

Kathy K.

Yelp
While the winery itself is very nice, I have found bottles on the shelves of my local grocery stores of Augusta River Valley White (which I love) undrinkable. I don't know if they are old or there's a new employee or what. I've had 3 bottles (which are visibly darker in color) within the last couple of months that are not drinkable. Anyone else? I complained to Augusta Winery and the reply was there was nothing wrong with their wine. I have been drinking this wine for YEARS! I know when the taste is off. I didn't know I could post pictures. Next time I get one, I'll post the pictures here.
google avatar

Yelp
Friendly, welcoming staff. A few stand out good wines. Overall nice visit both times we've been!

Yelp
Augusta Winery is very charming. Great place to stop by and enjoy a glass of wine. Make sure to also visit Mount Pleasant Estates winery in Augusta, Missouri. Mount Pleasant Estates winery is just down the street and it offers beautiful scenic views, a large patio and a picture perfect setting for spending a relaxing day. They also offer a picture perfect setting for weddings and private events!
google avatar

Yelp
I came here with a group of friends recently and enjoyed the experience. We had been looking for a winery near St. Louis that would allow outside food because we wanted to do a picnic and came across Augusta. We did the tastings first which are $5 for 5 tastings. The lady who served us was really helpful in helping us figure out which ones to try since we all have different tastes. We decided to go with the Seyval Blanc and enjoyed it! Their wines are very reasonably priced. It was great to be able to have a picnic and eat whatever we wanted to while sipping on wine. They have this beautiful canopy area where we sat and there was also a live band there on Sunday. The actual vineyard is a little farther away sadly and we didn't see it until we were driving away. Overall I would say this is a simple, no frills kinda cute winery that's worth checking out, especially if you want to bring outside food.
google avatar

April B.

Yelp
Our first winery of the day and I loved it! I think we tried every single wine that they have and didn't have a single bad try! We ended up buying a bottle of their Chardonel and sitting on the patio drinking and watching the world go by. I loved that they were located in town! Very quaint.
google avatar

C. M.

Yelp
The lafluer savage is much lighter than previous editions, a lovely bottle to have on their upper patio
google avatar

Guy L.

Yelp
Definitely the least picturesque of the area's wineries, as it is located in tiny little shop in the middle of town. However, the wines weren't bad and the staff was very friendly. They did have an outdoor drinking area up the street with live music, but due to the extreme heat there was really nobody out there listening. The main thing I remember here was that the lady doing our tasting promised me their port would be the first that I would actually enjoy....and she was right. It was great. That was a pleasant surprise.
google avatar

Caitlin M.

Yelp
Cute winery in a charming little down! The tasting room felt rather small, but the outdoor patio (up the hill from the tasting area) was spacious and enjoyable! It really won me over. Visit the tasting room to try their wines. I think they offered us five complimentary tastes. There is a tasting menu, but they offered us a few things not listed. There were only a couple of people working and several groups so we tasted only a couple until we found one we could drink outside. I enjoyed all the wines I tasted, though I would've preferred more control over the tasting process. After telling them I liked semi-dry whites, she sort of skipped around their offerings pouring at her discretion what I might like. I did enjoy all the wines, and I'm not sure if this is "standard" or because we had mentioned it was our first time to their winery. If you want time to chat with them and get to know what you're drinking, go at a less busy time. Otherwise find a wine you like and head out to their wine garden! They were all out of pizzas the day we visited, but they do have a small selection of meats, cheeses, and crackers. They have some plastic utensils available but splurge for the $1 metal knife if you're getting meats and cheeses that need cutting. We really loved the Sauvignon Blanc we had, but not a single wine we tasted was unsatisfactory. We will definitely be going back for more wine and to enjoy their lovely location!

Yelp
How have I missed reviewing Augusta Winery?!? This winery is really a sweet wine drinker's little gem. They are always very friendly and have a great selection of wines. When traveling with friends, we usually lose the boys to the brewery, but that's just fine by us. On nice days, we're happy to buy a bottle...or four...and sit on their porch. There is a beer/wine garden just up the hill, but we've honestly never indulged. Try the ice wine!

S N.

Yelp
Fantastic experience! Our wine tasting was enjoyable! We bought several bottles of wine and highly recommend Augusta winery as a must enjoy!
google avatar

Natalie B.

Yelp
$5 tasting includes glass. Good wine, nice people and cute location. We will be back!!! (Fyi not dog friendly)
google avatar

Ed P.

Yelp
While visiting friends, we joined them for a visit to vineyards and wineries in the area and paused at the Augusta Winery for a tasting and a few purchases. I'm told their wines have done well in competition, and I'm not qualified to judge; I know very little about wines, but I know what I enjoy, what tastes pleasing to me, and I enjoyed some of what I'd tasted here. This was a pleasant midweek visit on a hot August day; on a milder day I would have preferred sitting outdoors and appreciating my choices. I'd unhesitatingly recommend this winery to others.

Mark D.

Yelp
Had a wonderful Mother's Day at Augusta Winery. Mary, who worked in the wine and beer garden area, was an absolute joy and did everything she could to make sure we had a wonderful time. They Seyval Blanc in the blue bottle was delicious and refreshing on a beautiful, sunny, afternoon an Steve Leslie on acoustic guitar topped off a perfect day. I will be back...
google avatar

Marcia R.

Yelp
I had heard about the Augusta Defiance Wineries from a couple I met at another winery! We stoped at a total of 4 this past Weekend! This one was by far my favorite! The ladies doing the tastings, We're not only knowledgeable but every engaging! I found my new favorite! I will be back with my friends again!

MO Wine Please ..

Yelp
Augusta Winery aims to please and the owner Tony Kooyumjian is personally involved with the wine making process. We have been to Augusta Winery in the Augusta region many times and is our personal stomping ground. We try and stop in at the winery every time. Their Vignoles ice wine is one of our favorites, but really all of their Vignoles are! Stop in the first chance you get. For more information on Missouri wines check out our blog at: www.mowineplease.org

Yelp
Still one if the best wineries in the Augusta area. The staff we met was very knowledgeable and helpful since we are just wine lovers not connoisseurs. Wines were semi- dry to very fruity. I can't say enough about the place, will definitely return in the near future.

Katharine H.

Yelp
Fun place to visit with friends on a hot summer afternoon. However, it was this cool biker bar I had more fun at.
google avatar

Amanda H.

Yelp
Tony and Cindy K. take great care of their people and their customers! The new patio at the top of High St. is amazing! The grapevines are starting to grow over the top of the pergola creating this beautiful shade and adding to the wine country ambiance. Definitely try the ruby and tawny ports...you won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Liz T.

Yelp
This is definitely one of the smallest and least scenic wineries in the area but it's quaint and welcoming atmosphere make up for it. All of the staff was super nice and helpful. We enjoyed our free wine tastings in the lower room and then went up the hill to buy a bottle of wine and listen to live music. The live music was very enjoyable and their patio is beautiful. I will for sure be going back to this gem :)
google avatar

Sheila B.

Yelp
Stopped in for wine tasting and ended up purchasing a bottle. The Alluvium is good, I'm sure will be even better chilled. The blush was good as well. The woman that greeted us and gave us tastings was very friendly and informative. The wine garden just at the top of the hill looked like a lot of fun.
google avatar

Joshua R.

Yelp
Decent wines and very much on the cheap. Not much to hang out at, not a lot of scenery, but a decent stop if you are on a trip out here. Bear in mind that cell phone service can be highly dubious.
google avatar

Samantha Z.

Yelp
Their wines are definitely good, but this place is only just OK. They have a huge deck area to drink wine and live music (which has been pretty weird at times). They also have a separate, cozy tasting room down the hill. I believe you can order food here, but I've never done so. The bathrooms were pretty clean, which I also really appreciated. The other good things about this winery are that they have a variety of wines and their tasting is free. Yesterday when we visited, they even had a hot apple spiced drink as part of their tasting. There are a few reasons I can't give them four stars despite the fact that they have tons of great wines. The big reason being that (and maybe it was because it was a busy weekend) they no longer let you pick your tastings. When I was here last year, I was able to pick whichever wines I wanted to try. This year, they only let you try from a preselected list. This is such a shame because they have so many good wines (from dry to sweet to ice). One of the tasters let us deviate at one point for a wine, but then was super nervous to let us try any others because her boss was there. I feel this will only hurt the winery going forward since some of their best wines weren't even on the tasting list. As a final note, they lack the view that some of the other wineries do, but there isn't much they can do about about that.

Renee K.

Yelp
Loved visiting Augusta winery! Tasted all the wines in the tasting room with a group of friends and bought a very reasonable bottle of blush wine. Very good. Then sat in the wine garden with the wine and some snacks and enjoyed awesome live music on a Saturday!
