I loved the instructors doing online courses. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Works with students when they need help or extensions based per case. And graduation day is the best feeling ever, seeing all of your classmates in person from every program there. Highly recommend this school for your next culinary adventure.

I attended Auguste Escoffier twice, I received an Associate's Degree in Holistic Health & Wellness in 2024 & my 2nd Associate's Degree was in Baking & Pastry in which I received in 2025. My time there has been an incredible experience. The professor's & Chef's were fantastic. Always available to help, encouraging, easy process to apply & get the classes listed for the degree I was taking. Even was a great listening ear when I was struggling & thought I would have to drop out. I would recommend this school to anyone wanting to expand their cooking skills. I know how to cook, but after taking both classes, now I feel I can cook for anyone with perfection & professionally. It truly has been a blessing to attend. Graduated both time with a 4.0 GPA. That was God. I never saw grades like that ever. Turned 61 this year & have 2 Associate Degrees under my belt. You are never too 'old' to learn. My kitchen is now my happy place, I bake for 2 ministries, & waiting on God to show me where I go from here.

I loved everything about Escoffier! The hands on experience was top tier, i learned so much and now im a full time cook reaching for more! Hopefully I’ll become sous chef or maybe even executive chef one day! But the journey was beautiful! Without Escoffier I wouldn’t be the person I am today! I suggest anybody that wants to excel in Culinary to apply to Escoffier! Great opportunity I got my Degree & Associates and I plan on going back for another degree ! Maybe even Baking 🥰

I really enjoyed attending this school. I have really updated my cooking styles. I even measure the ingredients now. I'm also more conscientious when it comes to grocery shopping for events and how much to charge for them based on the ingredients being used. I also venture into international flavors, something I never thought would happen in my kitchen. I really enjoy baking and cooking at home more because I know exactly what is in my food. Also, I have realized I could cook an entire meal in the same amount of time it takes to order takeout. My family is also impressed with my new cooking styles and rave more about how much better everything tastes. I'm very appreciative of the learning experience here. The instructors were excellent. Thank you so much to Escoffier for the newfound confidence I have acquired.

Google
Escoffier is an absolutely amazing school with amazing programs and the most amazing instructors, that will guide you through your entire culinary journey. I'am so blessed to have had the opportunity to earn my plant based diploma and learn so much about preparing plant based cuisine and desserts. Just when I thought I knew all their was to know about cooking as a mother and grandmother, Escoffier took me to a whole new level, and for that, I will forever be so grateful.

O beloved school, Auguste Escoffier, temple of art and of profound flavor! You carry in your soul the fruitful flame of the Master who taught the world to simmer. Your teachings —passion and harmony— shape artists of gastronomy. Tomas W. Espinoza

As a working mom, finding time for myself wasn’t easy, but Escoffier Online has made it possible to finally follow my passion. I learned at my own pace, cook in my own kitchen, and still got amazing feedback from real chefs. It fitted perfectly into my busy life, and I’m so proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish. I just graduated in July with my degree in Holistic Nutrition and Wellness. It was not easy but it was worth it.

Google
I joined culinary school after I promised my dying father I was going to be a chef. The admissions staff was amazing and supportive, and answered every question I had. The instructors were amazing, intuitive, and patient. And even in moments where I was I jeopardy, they were there to coach me and make me the Chef i am. There was even a time when I was supposed to have a "Mystery box challenge". It was sent to the wrong address. My chef told me, just remember the requirements, pick your own ingredients, and cook! I graduated June 1. I highly recommend Escoffier, if you have a dream, chase it. Dreams dont chase you back.

Yelp
I only have experience with the home cook classes, which are great fun. My husband and I have taken 3 so far between the two of us - knife skills, sauces, and dim sum. The sauce class was amazing - over the course of two days, we learned 24 different sauces, and covered every type of sauce (dessert ones too!). We made a dish with each sauce, so we got some experience of what to pair them with. They gave us recipe packets and we went over the recipes and ingredient selection (take notes, there's a lot of information that gets shared that's not on the recipe), and then each person got to focus on one or two dishes, with interruptions to check out the important aspects of what other people were working on. The knife skills class was more basic - while fun, we already knew a lot of the information in it. There were still a few tricks to learn, of course, but it seems that past learning the basics, knife skills is mostly about getting lots of practice. The dim sum class was similar to the sauce class in the format - a bunch of recipes and each person got to pick which one they want to work on. For me, the main reason to take that class was to get some familiarity with ingredients that I haven't been exposed to (OK, I've eaten them, but I haven't cooked with them!). The techniques were introduced clearly and each of us got to practice putting together the different kinds of dumplings and potstickers and such. Since then, I've made the Cha Siu Bao, and it looks like what we learned in class stuck. I like using the cooking classes to increase my comfort level with ingredients that I haven't grown up using. Yes, I could print out a recipe and figure out a lot of it, but how and what to buy is a bit harder when I'm working with unfamiliar cuisine. The little tricks that I inevitably end up picking up from the classes are incredibly handy and increase my comfort level with cooking even more.

Yelp
Attend the online program and they're a joke! I've not learned much, instructors are early on were great but once I got into the "meat" of the program the instructors are horrible. From no communication for weeks even after reaching out, to financial issues. The left hand does not know what the right is doing!! Find a different school if you are thinking of becoming a chef!
google avatar

Birdie L.

Yelp
(this is for the online corse) I really wish I did more research on what the curriculum entailed. You cook one dish a week. If this is your first time cooking, I'm sure you will learn a lot, but if you know how to cook a steak and cook carrots you are wasting your money. You can definitely learn more watching YouTube or TikTok. The cost is almost on par with attending in person. You also have to take into account that along with your tuition you are also paying for groceries, and paying for random groceries you will only use once. I wish I would have taken that 20k+ and traveled to a different country and taken a fun cooking class instead of this. It gave me something to do and something to show up for, and a piece of paper that essentially means just that...for 20k+. Choose a different school if you are serious about cooking.

Yelp
Look I would never recommend this school for anyone nada point blank period they are scammers and trust me they don't care about you they care for the money. They have shitty staff for one and don't get me started with finical aid they sent me to someone who was unprofessional and unprepared and trying to break my fucking pocket by giving numbers that made nonsense then has the audacity to say even if you have finical aid you still have to pay high amount of money again they don't care about you not just that they gave me a shitty ass advisor who purposely cancelled my cancellation request saying I didn't mean to request the cancellation and if anything it was more of her words than me she never let me talk at all Key word RUN FROM THESE SCAMMERS YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT

Yelp
Working with a client that contacted me after going to this online school for a semester. Getting the money promised to buy essential ingredients and items to complete the course has been a nightmare. As a student that is disabled and poor it has been impossible to complete the course because they keep withholding funds as promised and cause my client undue stress. It has been a fight trying to get finicial aid they promised to send per docs sent to them. My client was entitled to roughly 4 thousand dollars surplus as per email legers. This then turned into 1400 and now is a negative amount. The school is now saying they owe more money that was granted through pell and loans. BE AWARE. I would avoid at all costs. Case is ongoing....

Yelp
Disclaimer I did not attend the school I just requested information. Do not request information if you do not want them calling you 4/5 times a day from different number just waiting for you to pick up. I understand calling once and leaving a message and then maybe following up with an email, but this is excessive. Granted yes, I could've just picked up the phone but we are in different time zones. The first call normally comes in at 7am...I am not even awake yet. The rest come when im at work and unable to pick up the phone. But after seeing you call that many times like there is a fire, I am honestly not picking up. It feels pushy and like they're anxious for people. I understand the reviews. All I wanted was a simple email breaking down the program, you know.. like I requested. Anyhow here is proof of the calls, I hope the school sees this. you guys need to have a board meeting and talk about why its not okay to call people 5 times within 24hrs.

Yelp
As a person who attended this "school" I would avoid it like the plague !!! It is nothing but a diploma mill, in my opinion. It was expensive for what I received. I could have easily learned EVERYTHING from Youtube. Some of the so called instructors that I had were very poor instructors and had difficulty following the recipes. Technique instruction was so minimal that Youtube was my go to resource. Do yourself a favor and speak to prior students before signing up for this place. You will find that most students did not learn much, if anything, from the "school".

Yelp
I have never felt more scammed in my life! Run! You can learn more on Utube. The rest of this review is because I need 185 characters.

Yelp
Writing a further update. BEYOND FINANCIAL AID, this school has acted so unprofessionally and I'm disgusted. I have received many outreaches and have now responded so please review if you sent me an email. The enrollment process is quite predatory and full of misleading and false promises. Career services will not help you with job placement as they market nor with finding a substantial externship. The admin staff is unresponsive and cannot even simply update an address. Now, my partner cannot even receive a confirmation after being on the President's List if he could even receive his certification after he completed all requirements WITH top grades which is completely illegal. ADDITIONALLY EVERYONE, PLEASE GO AND COMMENT ON THEIR INSTAGRAM AS WELL. THEY NEED TO BE EXPOSED

Nia T.

Yelp
This school is amazing ! You put in the work, you seek the results you wish to find. You don't do the work... Well you know the rest! The ratings are inaccurate and it's bothersome! Excellent staff, excellent classes! This is an opportunity of a lifetime. I would highly recommend this school to any culinary prospects. You get what you put in so give it your all!

Yelp
I have been going through a battle with this school from the start. To begin with they lie to you about a "grocery stipend" PLEASE check your paperwork as the boxes the financial aid department tells you not to worry about and check off, is your FEDERAL REFUND THAT THEY CLAIM IS A STIPEND FROM THEM. It is a gross misuse of authority and a full blown illegal practice. Secondly, there is supposed to be a patisserie kit, tool kit, spice kit, blah blah. The spices were so old they were grey. I had to go out and replace it all because at the end of the day this is an online program, I have to eat it, not them. The patisserie kit, never came. The "mystery box" at the end of our classes? Never came. While being a part of this 3 ring circus I have contacted many people all resulting in zero actions. Then upon class completions, I was given a career services advisor named Joe Powell, to help me find an externship. He told me it wasn't on him to find me a job and verbatim, told me to be dishonest about it being an externship and get the job first, with their resume template. Then tell them after, I was externing for school. Once I did this my job told me, they don't hire externs and I was let go.(due to the advice given by Joe Powell) After this I was contacted by Jane jepson for a capstone program. So while stressing about finding work for my externship, I was completing more assignments for school to keep up with trying to get this clearly useless piece of paper from this school. I now have had a job for a month working double shifts as a line cook, WHILE trying to come home and complete the capstone. Upon my completion they never updated my address for my diploma after calling maybe 6 times to update it. I got an email yesterday from the campus president KIRK BACHMANN (after threatening legal action) He told me he understands my concern about my diploma and read back my updated address. IT WAS COMPLETELY WRONG AGAIN. So after I finally told him I am filing a lawsuit against them and demanded he direct me where to file an administrative complaint he told me I could file it with him. Clearly I wasn't taking that for an answer. So what did they do next? Jane Jepson sent me a fake made up email to speak to their "ONBUDSMAN" and cut all contact with me. I emailed it and it was rejected by Gmail with a message of it not existing. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY. DO NOT FUND THIS SCAM SCHOOL. If you made the unfortunate decision like I did, please contact me for a class action lawsuit as I have 15 other participants ready to go as well. I will provide photo evidence of this below along with my email. When I log into my dashboard my capstone program has been completely removed as if I didn't complete it. I also have photo evidence of me completing it shown below as well. chefabrams89@gmail.com PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO HELP US GET THIS SCAM SHUT DOWN. In regards to Carole J telling me she can't figure who I am and having an auto reply. My name is ANTHONY ABRAMS. FEEL FREE TO GIVE ME A CALL

Yelp
The teacher feel like family. They help when you need it. The food they have you cook is so sexy It's so good . This stuff to teachers teach you About learning about different techniques . They make you so easy for you to learn . Keep it real I don't even want to leave the school next year when I graduate . And I love how the teachers work with you when you have stuff going on at home .

Yelp
After getting my diploma in culinary arts, i didn't want to stop! People think culinary is about teaching you how to cook. No that's not it. To be a chef you need to know your food and where it comes from! I enrolled in the associate's program and I love it. Escoffier really prepares you for the industry. After getting my degree this past winter I recently became a Chef Manager with a well know company in which I start in July! Thanks escoffier

Yelp
I would give 0 stars if possible. This school is absolute trash!! I enrolled in hopes of receiving my pastry arts degree and I 100% regret attending this school! I attended it until the final class in hopes to receive said degree and nothing. The teachers were very difficult to get ahold of to answer my questions since the live sessions were always at a time that I was at work. Outside of the tuition you are also paying for additional tools (they send you a few, but not nearly enough... Not even a rolling pin!) and expect you to put in 35+ hours a week for each class when I was instructed that it would be a part time program. I have had countless issues with this school and I would not recommend this school to anyone that I know... Escoffier will be getting a letter from my lawyer soon regarding multiple issues that I have had to experience during the pre-enrollment, attending the school, and leaving the school.

Yelp
I requested information for this school. I was contacted by Carla, who didn't listen to me when I answered her questions. She also asked if I was married & if I had his permission to be researching schools. I had to tend to unexpectedly tend to my child during our conversation, and when I told her I had to go, she said "well, you're going to have to talk to me eventually." She then called and texted me relentlessly the next day. I called back and spoke to Katherine, who was very helpful. due to my experience with Carla, I'm unsure if I'll be considering this school.

Yelp
If you want to be a cook or even a chef, dont spend your money going to this school. I had to find my own internship and at my internship is where I actually learned from a few things. Find another school or just find an entry level cook job. You will learn more with actual hands on experience along side another cook. Good luck.

Yelp
Was going to enroll but then as a mom to a seven year old with medical issues and other family matters I decided to wait. Then I politely told Shannon the guy who I spoke to that the same things and yes I also mentioned that we have a new puppy and so it would be hard to take online classes at this time. His response was ok well when you are ready to take your schooling serious let us know I thought was a bit out of line and now I will never apply for online classes. My life as a mom is more important right now and honestly this was just a extra thing for me but I know way better cooks yes they are not professional but their food is made with love and it is homemade. That is my mom and my Grandmother and that beats any stuck up cooking school who treats people like numbers
google avatar

Mary K.

Yelp
This school has very sketchy administration and staff practices. The enrollment process is misleading - they sign you up on your first call, but start the conversation as if it's an info session. The staff is not fully informed about the program whatsoever, they are just salespeople. One of the people I talked to couldn't even tell me if it was a Title IX school. You get bounced around to various staff people any time you try to get in touch with them. They never answer your questions directly and say they will send something or resolve on issue, but they don't unless you email, text, or call them repeatedly. I signed an Enrollment Contract at the end of the confusing initial phone call and regretted it immediately. I have had to use our email threads as written legal documents to ensure I cancelled my Enrollment because they never sent me an official document after numerous requests. I hate that I ever made contact with this school and I would advise anyone to steer clear.

Yelp
wow....I was excited about this career.i paid 25$ And asked for scholarships, they want to pressure with loans' had a zoom with a man who was cursing and saying the word F and s every 5 seconds.I feel touch miscommunication, like nobody answer my questions about getting a scholarship, the website looks nice but I did not feel safe at all.i took many zoom classes but we never cook together. I feel im another number here .... I was asking over and over the same questions can't believe about the 98 percent of BAD REVIEWS I feel they want to pressure with 21,000u$$more than caring for people or giving scholarships...I want to do this online but everything was overwhelming.i feel really insecure when I read all the negative reviews.

Yelp
If you do the online program, they will steal money from you. They use a company called Triumph higher education group for their financial aid dept, if you start make sure you finish or you will owe thousands of dollars even if you completed 1 class with financial aid. There is something illegal going on here. How can you charge someone 4600 for an 8 week class and cheap supplies? Stick with local colleges or anyone but Escoffier!

Forrest S.

Yelp
So I applied for one of their in-person 9 month degrees around mid January if 2022. Of course, very excited at this prospect. I was heavily pushed to enroll in their February program that was starting less than 2 weeks from my application date, as the class size was allegedly smaller. I specified that I would need to start with the July summer program- as I'm almost 30, support myself, & cannot simply change my schedule on a whim. My FAFSA had not even been approved yet. Everything was finalized and I was informed that if I had any questions to contact financial aid. I did not have any questions, as I've been through school before and would reach out closer to July. My phone number changed, but I thought nothing of it as my email is on file- and if they need me, they can email me as we've had previous email correspondence. I've been receiving automatic emails every other day for their think piece articles as well. Tell me how I receive an auto generated email stating I've been UNENROLLED due to lack of contact? After being informed to contact THEM if I have any questions?? As of today, the July program doesn't start for another month. I called the Boulder campus, asking why I'm receiving this autogenerated email- and they inform me I've been unenrolled due to no contact. As they, "Prefer to stay in constant communication with their students." So why have they not emailed me at ALL if we've had previous email correspondence??It's literally insane to me lmao How is it my responsibility as a student to reach out and say: "Ayo! Still a working adult with a full time schedule reaching out to another working adult with a full time schedule- still don't have any questions, just dicking around to say hello(: " Make it make sense. I've enrolled into a different school, as honestly this was unacceptable. They claim there were communication attempts on their end- but clearly it was only by phone (and again, I had a temporary number for a while). It's not hard to get ahold of someone when you have the rest of their information on file. The individual I spoke with on the phone was mildly apologetic- but still tried to shift the blame back to me regarding lack of contact. Even after stating I was informed to reach out if I had questions & informing him I did not. "Well did you reply to XYZ??" Clearly I've opened and responded to every email of your staff- so if there was no contact it wasn't entirely on my end. If I'm able to post a picture of this, I will.

Mike S.

Yelp
Have been in this school for a month now and have learned nothing. The recipes you must follow are bland and so basic it feels like home economics class in junior high. Then you recieve criticism when you describe the food as boring and bland. The cook book that they teach from has amazing recipes in it that they could teach you from but don't. This is a scam school just like all other for profit schools. Easiest way to tell is how fast you get a call back when you show interest and that they are ranked "military friendly" just like Phoenix, CTU and the rest. Save your money and your GI bill and just buy the cook book and watch the food network.

Yelp
I recently attended a home cook class titled "dinner date". Having taken a cooking class from a small operation in Louisville I was very excited to be taking a class at the esteemed Escoffier. Though the price was quite steep in my opinion ($75 per person) my date and I decided to give it a go (he had seeked the date out himself, quite impressive first date if you ask me). The menu included: classes caesar salad, pan roasted salmon filet with wild rice potato cakes & charred vinaigrette, grilled vegetable napoleons with herbed ricotta, and chocolate mousse with creme chantilly & fresh berries. Upon arrival I was greeted by Chef Dion and the cooking was well underway (I unfortunately got caught up on CU Football traffic and was about ten minutes late - not my best moment, and my date couldn't find the place he seemed to only find the administrative office which was a couple doors down in the same building). There were aprons and recipe packets strategically placed around the worktable as well as water glasses and a pitcher of ice-water. Everyone was working on individual projects so it was less instructional and more a group of people cooking together. Our instructor was extremely lovely (Chef Dion) and the other couple in the class were great fun. I really appreciated Chef's approachability, patience, and professionalism. She was filling in for another instructor and I feel she did an excellent job with the recipes she provided (she actually tweaked them a little here and there but I managed to find a pen so that I could revise the recipe handout). Being a literal person I did not find the recipes provided terribly helpful or explanatory. For example I was in charge of checking on the breadcrumbs (as they were already in the oven when I arrived). After taking them out of the oven I asked the Chef how she prepared them (she indicated oil and salt/pepper). The recipe in our packet simply states "Preheat oven to 325. Place the bread cubes on a sheet pan and place in oven until dried out". Since I wasn't involved in making all of the items for this dinner I really hope the other recipes were written with more instruction. As the class progressed we switched tasks as necessary to ensure all the food would be ready. What I really would have liked is if the class had a bit slower pace and the instructor walk us through each recipe. I was excited to see that there was red wine and crudite to enjoy while we prepared the food. Our classmates cut up some vegetables, cheese, and the wine well that was a bit more complicated. 2 of us spent about 15 minutes searching for a wine opener which was never found. Eventually a classmate exited the class and either purchased or borrowed a wine opener from a neighboring business (he nor his wife drank wine themselves). The food turned out fantastic and I was really excited about how the salmon turned out (I'm not a seafood person myself). I found it great fun to try new foods and also be able to possibly re-create them at home (sans industrial kitchen aid of course). I do want to note that Chef was awaiting 2-3 helpers the entire duration of the class. They never did show up. One thing I had joked about to my parents before taking this class was that I hoped for the price we paid ($75 each) we didn't end up doing the dishes - well that is exactly what happened. Thankfully one of our classmates really enjoyed doing dishes and he was more than happy spending the last 30+ minutes doing dishes. Overall I enjoyed the time I spent with my date, classmates, and Chef Dion. For the price I don't anticipate returning or recommending as I honestly expected more from Escoffier (in particular accurate detailed recipes, and helpers to do the dishes and ensure everything needed was there and ready for us).

Yelp
So I started the baking program last year....I wish I hadn't. The only reason I'm finishing is so I don't owe a ton of money back in student loans. This school is a joke. I barely learned anything. Trying to get in touch with anyone is impossible! I once called the financial aid office 4-5 times before finally talking to someone. Another time I was put on hold for about 30-40 minutes. Just sad. When I did talk to someone they made me feel stupid and the gentlemen I spoke to had a awful attitude, like he hated his job. The teachers are okay....but nothing to brag about. I really feel like the school was a waste of time and money....wish I hadn't gone here. The recipes are so meh. It's stuff you could easily find on YouTube or even in cook books. Just don't go here!

Yvette S.

Yelp
Extremely an expensive school....if you have previous student loans...you will have to pay out of pocket and no other options are offered if can't afford to pay....They don't care!!

Yelp
Update: I have asked them to send me any form of a written statement of what I have paid. They can not do that. I have never heard of any program or business that doesn't provide receipts. This program is garbage.

Yelp
I loveee Escoffier Culinary arts, I'm a student at their pastry program and it's a fabulous program. Best decision I've made is to attend to this school. Price is really affordable comparing to local culinary school in my area, Chefs instructors are awesome , experienced and very helpful and professional; the student success team are there for you if you have any issues. Best experience ever, also I'm seriously thinking about doing the culinary degree, since I love making savory food as well as pastry. Highly recommended

I signed up a few weeks ago. I was kinda surprised the school didn't provide student I'd or emails. The google drive made me uncomfortable because it's giving access to your personal files. They figured out a way for the assignments that would be submitted through google drive. You we're getting phone calls daily, but wasn't giving proper information. You're being mislead and besides you can't learn Properly online for baking or cooking in my opinion and a real "Chef" confirmed that!.Food has to be tasted! you can't just go by presentation that can be misleading too. If you are attending anyone school they should provide you with student I'd # and email address also you shouldn't be going out hunting to do a community service in order to receive a diploma or certificate, unless it's for extra credit. I withdrew yesterday on 4/27/2021 this wasn't the right choice school for me. I sent in a email according to (Kiara) the academic advisor told me (James) the financial Aid advisor forwarded the email over to her and according to the manager (Glowlisa) I will not be receiving any bills nor would the school receive my financial Aid. I'm hoping I don't have to go through any issues as some of you guys did and is going through.

Yelp
This school is a scam. I was yelled at over the phone by a lady named Gloleecia because of problems with my paperwork and she was trying to coerce me into paying for school with cash payment plan and that I could not attend otherwise. I called the financial aide department they said she isn't even apart of the department and was spreading wrong information. I was also constantly being told I was not approved for a school loan but kept receiving calls about my disbursements. (Which I never received) She then called me back and made excuses for her behavior and never once apologized. Then after I left the school I was trying to arrange the payments and was on the phone with a lady named Irma; she was extremely rude. I was relaying to her the information I had received from another person in the financial assistance department and asking if I was understanding correctly and she got frustrated with me and said that my balance was going to collections and told me I'm refusing to pay. It got to the point when this lady was yelling at me and talking over me because she was so pissed off. I asked to be transferred to a supervisor and she said she would and then hung up on me. Luckily when I called back I was connected with a very nice lady named Kathy, and she was able to answer my questions and help me.

Yelp
I'm so glad I didn't get hired to work here. "K" interviewed me. She was so lackluster and apparently suffers from low self esteem. The reviews were clear. They have shady practices. Avoid this diploma mill. They have a high turnover. You are a number. Find a real school. Follow your gut

Yelp
Enjoying my first month here. Can't wait to dig deeper on the course work. My Chef is great and straight to the point. There are a lot of resources to use on your own time if you want to be great. But the school makes it easy.

Yelp
STAY AWAY FROM THIS "SCHOOL!" The recruiting/admissions process was extraordinarily sleazy and predatory. Daniel Geoghegan called on behalf of Escoffier walking me through the process. After an excruciating 45 minutes, he insisted that I sign the "DocuSign." I repeatedly said I need time to think about it, and he mocked me saying I couldn't afford the $25 application fee. Exhausted after debating him about it, I paid and submitted the fee so I could get him off the phone. Nope! He continued to push me to sign the online form. Trying to rush me through the process, I read that if I signed the document, I was 100% responsible for the $18,800 tuition! Absolutely disgusting and immoral process. I wish I could give this school less than 1 star. I will be moving forward with legal action.

Yelp
I really wanted the reviews to be exaggerations but alas they were true. I decided I wanted to wait until I could attend in person and I communicated that via email, twice. I got a confirmation of receipt from someone so I know they went through. I told them in no uncertain terms I don't wish to enroll. They have yet to respond. I called and then a person who managed to hear what I was calling about but not my name called me back saying she couldn't make out the email. That's an awful lot of info to hear while simultaneously having "not being able to hear". This feels like a scam. I will send a letter from my lawyer perhaps they'll get that.

Yelp
DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL!! As a current culinary student attending this school I have to say I've been having the worst time of my life. First off, I am enrolled in a 1 year speed program and I am barely learning anything when it comes to cooking, we have about 6-7 menu items to make per day and it's split between your group; so some people are learning a bunch and others are just making appetizers and salads. Second, the grading system is 75% based on attendance and we are expected to attend Monday- Friday, so for those who still need to earn a living and work a full time job it will be more than difficult since you will have homework and projects to worry about. Therefore if you miss one day your grade will drop significantly and you have the option to either write a 5 page narrative, or spend your own money and cook two menu items from the days you missed. The school makes most of their money from attendance (henceforth why the grading system is mainly attendance based possibly?) and drop outs. Not to mention that the head chef of our school got a suspended leave for trying to convince students to drop out. Also the school is located in a little shopping center with classes and offices dispersed throughout the lot. It is extremely unorganized and the classrooms/ kitchens are extremely small. Cooking utensils and machines are very limited and are also randomly dispersed throughout the building. There are a few really good Chef instructors who care about your learning and well being however the majority are simply there for a check and will not care about your education or priorities outside of school. However I looked at the reviews that previous Chef instructors left on indeed and it became a little more clear to me. A big majority were all saying that it is an extremely negative work environment, some have received threats, and the turn over rate is very high. So if most the instructors aren't happy with the environment/ administration how are they going to care and feel motivated to actually teach us students and help us find our passion. This school is insanely pricey for the mediocre education I've been getting, please save your money, time, and sanity and find a better school.

Yelp
This place is 100% sketchy! My fiancée loves to cook and this place tried to take advantage of her future and lead her on without providing details like how much each class will cost. How much will you have to pay for materials? Answers we could not get. But the recruiters were more than ADAMANT about wanting her to sign her student loans over to them. Not without information she won't. Don't advise me to email you her email so you can email another lady back and ask her (a recruiter) to call and she never does. That's also another thing, after asking for this information over a week ago, my fiancé was advised repeatedly that someone would be reaching out with that information (No one has been able to get in touch with her). Yet and still, 4 emails a day from two recruiters needing her to sign a document. NO. Also, the recruiter Tyeisha often referring her to (what was supposed to be) "better financial aid" person (Rolanda) than the rest. Still no word from Rolanda. My fiancé was also urged to provide MY information although, during their conversation, my fiancé mentioned me being in school for ACCOUNTING. Cooking and accounting are 2 different things. Why would I out of anyone, need to have you have my information? So you could spam me? I think not. Goodbye.

Yelp
I don't why all the bad reviews. I started Escoffier this year in February so far I have done the culinary foundation and food management, I will be completing menu design and management, culinary and patisserie on October 1st, and then I will be doing world cuisine which I'm so excited to start making different dishes from different cultures. The chefs are great and they are willing to help if needed I know people experiencing financial hardship when comes to making a recipe and if you do not have all the ingredients the chefs will let you substitute what you have at home but if it's mandatory to have the certain item you just have go out in buy it and they will help find a grocery store that has good deals and prices trust me they understand so far I love it, online classes, is so convenient because if I can't make to my online live session I can watch the recording and the study hall helps me a lot sometimes I still go back and practice my knife skills from the culinary foundation I have no complaints about this school

Yelp
I made it clear that I didn't wanna attend the online program anymore (in advanced). I made it clear that I'm mentally not prepared to go to school just yet (I graduated high school class of 2020) & that I had changed my mind. Instead of respecting my decision, they convinced me to try the program anyways & they won't leave me alone. The phone calls, emails, & text messages won't stop. I'm not happy. At all.

Yelp
Stop texting me from a different number every day. How awful is your business if this is what you need to do?

Yelp
Attended weekend class "Easy as Pie." One of the best experience I've had with culinary classes. Chef Dan Widmann was an excellent instructor and is a credit to chef instructors everywhere. Assistants Lance and Dru were helpful and entertaining. Super friendly folks, casual learning, hands-on, individualized instruction. For summer, we made pies of peach, cherry, strawberry rhubarb, apple. All from fresh fruit. Focus on making the pie crust as well as other helpful techniques. This is a great class for anyone, even if you don't cook a lot or don't like pie. Reasonably priced for what you get.

Yelp
From the very first moment the school contacted me after I found them on an ad on Tictok about 2-3 weeks ago they've called me nonstop telling me I need to hurry up and get my application for the In because the deadline is fast approaching and then I wake up to a couple missed phone calls in a few text messages informing me that the deadline has not been pushed back kind of funny after I've told him I don't have the money for it in time of the deadline now all of a sudden it's pushed back I've had a lot of scam feelings just from talking to the people on the phone and it's left me very very uneasy but after reading all of the reviews I'm just gonna go check out my community college.

Yelp
Went to sign up for school and was trying to unroll every number that I had and tried to contact before the class starts on april 6th 2022 has all been going to voicemail I called and spoke to Terry yesterday and another lady both where really nasty when I told them I wanted to drop the course after doing further research on reviews and came across all the negative reviews on yelp that's having the same issues I'm currently having save your money go to a local culinary school , whenever you have a class. Or orientation they tell you 15-30 mins before the class starts ! Nothing is pre schedule! Nice chefs but don't waste your time or money you have to buy all the food supply's plus pay for the classes

Yelp
This place was *sketchy*. I tried to engage with them to learn about their online school but after being hounded again and again, they still could not send me a sample lesson. They would send me to their website, promise to "go over everything with me in detail". I simply wanted to see *one* single online course. Nothing. I asked to be removed from their mailing/call/text/email list. We'll see what happens.

Yelp
I attended the online program for about a week. I regret it. When I applied and was enrolled, I noticed how incredibly uninformative and difficult the website is to navigate, but I let it slide. Recruiters and advisors are pretty push in the beginning, constant emails and phone calls; but they always responded when I emailed with a question or I needed something. I usually didn't get a direct answer to my questions, but I was able to figure stuff out on my own. I submitted my FAFSA. Emailed financial aid multiple times with no response. Finally got to talk to someone on the phone the week classes began. The conversation was weirdly shady. Nothing was explained correctly and just before hanging up the phone call they realized oh wait, you'll owe us money NEXT semester (as in, the one that starts three months from now), lets get you set up to start a payment plan.... The payment plan started a week after the phone call, in October. Why am I paying for a semester that isn't even close to starting yet, while attending a different semester? Not only that, it would be completely unnecessary for my to have to pay for this out of pocket due to the loans that we had JUST spoken about. After the conversation, I sent multiple emails trying to get the whole issue sorted out instead of owing them money for... nothing, essentially, with absolutely no response. No calls answered. I tried for a week. During this time, I received multiple calls and emails about getting set up to pay the money I "owe," yet no response when I contact THEM. (I should also point out that this is certainly not my first rodeo. I've attended two colleges, have a degree, and am very familiar with how financial aid works; never had any problems like this before.) I gave up trying and emailed the registrar to inform them that I am withdrawing. (They offer a one month conditional enrollment trial period.) No response. Emailed again, still nothing. I still haven't been withdrawn. I'm still receiving multiple calls and emails a day to get me to pay them. Still getting emails from my instructors. The entire thing has been a nightmare. I will say the instructors and chefs seem great! Very friendly and helpful. The assignments were enjoyable, and so we're the live sessions I attended. The issue is with administration, definitely not with them.

Yelp
Was a bit hesitant when my handicapped son talked about enrolling for online cooking school with Escoffier. Well I was right. Before his accident my son was being trained at Disneyland to become a chief. After the accident he is unable to stand and pick up very heavy objects, so he looked for other options. When he enrolled he was told they'd work with him when he had upcoming surgeries, and told him they had a place to do his internship, and that this placed worked with handicapped people. Well they gave him off for his surgery, but it was a fight. When he was able to start up again he was doing great. Then in the middle of returning our whole kitchen flooded. Literally everything was torn out. No anything. He sent the school pictures and explained what had happened. This again was not something you plan to happen. They were horrible, but eventually said he could take a leave and come back. When everything was done he went to log in to start up again and was told they were dropping him because of the surgery, the flood , and could no longer accommodate him in his internship. This was all done by email no contact nothing! It's like they took advantage of him because he's handicapped. Well if they were upfront in the beginning we would have not registered. Now they took his money, he has a student loan, and they wasn't more money. This place lies to you. Be careful kids. Look elsewhere before this school takes advantage of a handicap person they will take advantage of you, and make you feel discriminated against. Just so sad

Yelp
Like everyone else on here will tell you, they hound you once they get your information. They won't answer questions about the program (at least not what you're asking), and they won't let you know anything about the payment schedule until you "apply for financial aid", even if you don't need it. I'd love to attend their classes but this places seems like an absolute scam. I notice that they respond to all their reviews with an apology but it's clearly not meant. Trying to force people to get loans that aren't needed, not answering questions, and constantly berating you with messages about how you need to enroll soon are all signs of a SCAM. If they DO offer legitimate classes, I hope they fire everyone in sales so they don't go out of business.

John H.

Yelp
This school has *VERY* unethical sales practices. Their sales department will hound you to the END OF THE EARTH the moment you fill out their inquiry form and they will consistently ignore all your requests to be left alone! Do not give them your information if you enjoy your privacy. I've also received dozens of calls from other unrelated businesses since submitting my inquiry, so no doubt they are selling their contact database to other businesses. I also filed the following complaint with the BBB: "I filled out an online inquiry a few weeks ago and since that time their sales department has relentlessly pursued my enrollment with a *DAILY* wave of texts, phone calls and emails from multiple sales individuals. I have repeatedly asked to be removed from their contact database and they have repeatedly ignored my requests. I've gotten to the point of having to turn the ringer off on my cell phone just so I can get some work done without their INCESSANT interruptions. I can't believe they do business this way. I would never in a million years consider attending this school after the way they have trampled my privacy and have demonstrated a total disregard for my time. Oh, and should the school respond with ignorance, I have a *HEFTY* trail of voicemails, texts and emails to represent my complaint." Steer clear of this mill.

Yelp
I love cooking and baking and I wanted to go to school so we decided with Escoffier because it seemed very promising. I started the online pastry program in February and am suppose to graduate in may of next year. Attending this school is one of my biggest regrets because 1 it is wildly expensive not only do you have to pay your tuition which is insane for only a 14 month session but you also need to pay for all your own ingredients as well as supplies. The school does send a tool kit and ONE kitchen set with flour, salt, baking powder etc. but it is nowhere near enough for the whole year. Second, I try to contact chef instructors but I either get completely ignored or I get responses 2-3 days later when it's no longer relevant. Three, I applied for fasfa and got absolutely no help with tuition because my parents make plenty of money appearently, my parents are not the ones paying for my tuition I am so I have to pay off wildly expensive loans on my own and the school would not let us do an appeal for some reason, they said we could not apply for an appeal because we moved out of state willingly despite the fact my parents income was cut in half and the income the school goes off of is from 3 years ago. Fourth, we never got help for when we need to apply for fasfa for the next semester, or if we were paying our loans correctly and on time, or If we need to apply for anymore loans we have to pry this information out of them ourselves which does not seem right to me. I would expect schools to be the one helping us since we are the ones paying so much money but no and You would think the school would do anything in their power to help you succeed but they do not, you as the student are expected to do everything (contacting them/asking questions/etc) yourself. Overall this school is just another example of a school that does not care about you and your education they just want their money. I'd like to add a positive however and that is that the school teaches you a lot of useful knowledge in culinary arts and it's a very fun program and you get to meet a lot of wonderful people.
