Augustine Lounge and Listening Room

Stopped by Augustine Lounge prior to our Friday night dinner at Perseid. We arrived around 6:30 and the available seats were either at the communal table or these very low rise chairs surrounding a coffee table. The lounge itself is beautiful and super chic but the seating arrangements are a touch awkward and uncomfy. Service was attentive and the cocktails were good. Cannot speak to the food since we were going to dinner after drinks but the menu looks good. Great addition to the Montrose neighborhood.

Great drinks at the bar. Ordered a cheese plate and asked for more bread. Waited 25 minutes and our server apologized and told us the kitchen was backed up. Bread never came so we left. The kitchen either needs more staff or more toasters. Asking for more bread shouldn’t take 25 minutes, unless they are feeding a sourdough starter and baking each piece from scratch.

Eclectic, vibrant oasis from Houston’s hustle and bustle. Sarah is an awesome bartender and very hospitable! This place is great for catching up with friends and grabbing a drink, and even great for taking it slow and reading a book. Its patio area is filled with lush greenery. This place is well worth a visit.

We came last week and were blown away with the service and drinks we had with Sarah. She is a phenomenal mixologist and even kinder person. We actually stayed for another round of drinks just because we were having such a nice time. We look forward to our next visit!

Super friendly bar staff, really great atmosphere and amazing cocktails! We've gone quite a few times since its opened and had a great experience each time. Absolutely love coming here!

Joe was an awesome server! Food is what you would expect from a nice restaurant. The vibe outside is very cool, the vibe inside is nice... but nothing extra or extraordinary. The one real negative was the valet experience. I parked on the dirt curb of the park across the street... they charged me. Wasn't a fan of feeling bamboozled.

Attentive service with well crafted cocktails. Very impressive hotel bar.

Nice place for a cocktail right by Menil Park and Menil Art Collection. They are inside of the new Saint Augustine Hotel. Stop in to listen to vinyls before or after dinner at Preseid.

I was looking for a nonalcoholic drink and our server Joshua recommended the Negroni outside of all the other NA drinks on the menu. Unfortunately, that did not hit my palette the way we both wanted and he graciously helped me find something else. I settled on the Lychee Cobbler and that was light and sweet and perfect for sipping. We sat at the long table and I really enjoyed the semi-formal, plush parlor vibe while we chatted. This is definitely a hidden gem but a great place if you want to be intimate.
