Turkish Feast Newcomer Turquaz Opens in San Francisco’s SoMa Neighborhood | Eater SF

"A big undertaking from the team behind Redwood City’s Selby’s and San Francisco’s Spruce opened on Santana Row on Thursday, March 13 and includes an upscale restaurant, bar, cafe, and a "secretive private events space;" the menu will skew French and Italian under executive chef Mark Sullivan, per the San Francisco Chronicle." - Paolo Bicchieri

My friend made reservations for 6 at 630 on a Thursday evening. It was a nice day so she requested outside. Our waiter asked us if we wanted drinks, he seemed busy so we never got his name. We waited awhile to be able to order our food. We had crab cakes, scallops, fish, french fries with truffle, veggie tart and a hamburger. Our favorites were the burger and fries. The burger was well cooked and the fries were crispy. The crab cake had a fishy taste and we requested lemon for it. The tart was a little too crispy and made it hard to bite, good flavor though. The scallops and fish were pretty tasty, I am glad we requested more lemon. Service was efficient.

Updated: Went back again for brunch and was extremely happy with the experience this time. My server Jose recommended the French Toast with ricotta and hot maple syrup which was divine. Crispy on the outside and crème on the instead. It was Perfection. My wife had the croque madame which was also one of the best I’ve ever tasted, even compared to places like Bouchon. We will be back often for brunch here. ————— A welcome addition to Santana Row. They opened the cafe first, then the dinner service, and with brunch service is coming in a couple of weeks. The food is elevated and delicious. The price is up there as well, but at least you do get what you pay for, which is more than I can say for other food places on the Row. The service is mixed as any new restaurant will have. Most staff are friendly and great, but some staff are not attentive and give attitude. I’m sure they will get better with time.

We decided to try Augustine after seeing all good online reviews. We ordered the squid, a salad, and the Augustine burger. The burger and fries were particularly impressive – so meaty and juicy! It's easily one of the best burgers I've ever had. This restaurant has definitely been added to my frequent go-to list.

I'm more a bar top diner Hung out with a friend for a later night meal before she left to San Diego Standard experience for a place seemingly trying to be fine dining Fries were crispy. Burger was yummy. Flatbread is super enjoyable. Pricey - but also standard for Santana Row Bartenders were friendly and definitely worth chopping it up with. I probably wouldn't dine in at a table as it seems wait times were hard and the bar top seems to stay open later Open seating at the bar so parties of 3ish should be able to find some outside peak weekend hours.

This California upscale restaurant completely exceeded our expectations! We visited during their first week open, and everything already felt so polished and seamless. The tables are perfectly spaced, making it easy to have an actual conversation — a refreshing change from louder, more cramped places like Teleferic Barcelona and Water Tower Kitchen. The food was outstanding. Our waiter was incredibly accommodating with gluten-free options, and everything she recommended was amazing. I didn’t know crab donuts could taste so good. Highly recommend the caviar! I had the mussels (plentiful and flavorful), and my fiancé loved his burger. The clarified cocktails were also a highlight — who knew a Long Island could be clear and taste so good? Don’t forget to order the lemon tart! Perfect way to end the evening :) The vibe is classy and timeless, with cozy low lighting. The manager checked in during our meal, the owners were present and attentive, and even the chef made a few rounds. You can really tell they genuinely care about the entire guest experience. We even had a chance to meet one of the owners afterward and share how much we loved our evening. I’ve already been recommending this spot to all my friends and coworkers. It’s perfect for date nights or after work drinks — and we’re already planning to come back again this week haha!

Love the cozy seating and lovely decor. Great quality, menu, and service. I had the cinnamon roll with side of bacon and a fabulous latte. We tried the fries the mustard sauce was delicious. Smashed potatoes were so good. My husband had the burger very good.

This new restaurant in Santana Row has made some buzz, but for some reason it wasn’t that great. I’m basing my score on food only. Portions were small, very mediocre food, highly priced and dull taste. Drinks were just okay but nothing fancy, not even decorated, with as little as possible alcohol. Service and atmosphere were the best part.

Despite being a new establishment, this restaurant has quickly become my favorite in Santana Row. The food is exceptionally good, with a distinct European influence. The service is excellent, and the wine list is impressive. I have two suggestions: 1. The tonnato sauce accompanying the tuna is delicious, and I would love to see vitello tonnato added to the menu. 2.Offering some of the special wines by the glass, perhaps using a Coravin or similar preservation system, would greatly enhance the dining experience and allow guests to sample a wider selection.
