Ambiance/Decor/Atmosphere: Upon walking in I immediately felt redirected to 1985. A myriad of abstract art and vineyard style paintings hangs on all walls. The ceiling tile is old and mineral fiber reminiscent. Each wall is practically a different color, but somehow Augusto's inner facade is cute, warm, quaint, private, and possibly romantic.
Noise/sound level: Kind of a small restaurant so if you listen hard enough you can hear other peoples' conversations. Or, if you're lucky like we were you can sit next to a woman hacking her lungs up. It's kind of loud, and sound will travel.
Menu: Perfectly sized representing French, Italian, and New American cuisines that should intrigue many patrons that frequent the restaurant. Not big, more of a smaller medium size aimed at turning speed and quick decision making.
Service: Very friendly, warm, inviting, polite, and professional staff. For a place of this caliber the ticket times were very good; didn't feel rushed or pushed out, and the wait staff was very helpful with anything needed.
Food: My friends and I ordered stuffed onion, bouillabaisse, and crab bisque appetizer. I had the bouillabaisse and found it to be a party in a bowl; amazing and rivaled any French cooking I've had. My friends found their appetizers equally impressive, however I didn't sample their food. One friend and I had beef bourguignon, and the other had cioppino. The beef was cooked well, super tender and relatively moist. The gravy went well with the mashed potatoes and vegetables. Never had this French dish before, always wanted to try it, found it delightful here, and would definitely eat it again. My friend said his cioppino wasn't that good, needed more broth and fish to really set it off. I had lava cake for dessert; never had that before either, almost ordered another one. Great food, but could use a salt shaker on the table to make the food sing.
Bar: BYOB
Price: Quite expensive; this is a special occasion place.
Overall: Great food to be had with great friends; would go back again as the menu has quite a few interesting items I'd like to sample.
