Aunt Aoy Kitchen

"The décor is simple, with a display of photos and messages on post-it notes from customers gone by. Aunt Aoy spent much of her career cooking in hotel kitchens. Her expertise is realised in the fluffy yet crispy Chef Omelette with stir-fried minced pork, salted egg and pork crackling." - Michelin Inspector

Very basic for the price that you are paying here! The Michelin Gourmand rating probably brought in too much attention to them. But the restaurant is made very much for expats and tourists and doesn't actually bring down the originality of the Thai flavour that one would expect while travelling. Even for the expats it's not an amazing place. I had the "Thai basil rice with shrimp" which was very average and the omelette with minced pork which was very oily.

Very homey place. Drinks are self service. Food is quite fast, but maybe cuz we went nearly their closing time so not many tables left. The food we ordered were tasty. Stir fried soft-shell crab was exceptionally delicious. Really recommend. Apparently the place is famous among Korean tourists also.

The soft shell crab with curry tasted extremely good. Highly recommend the omelette as well. Portions are pretty big, so be careful of over ordering. Loved it here! Great food

Although it's a Michelin-starred restaurant, the taste didn't really amaze me. The dishes are just more innovative. The soft-shell crab is the signature dish, very crispy, but it lacks the fresh flavor. The breaded pork?(don’t remember the name)is okay, but a little bit oily

Too bad this used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Chiang Mai. After being away for a few months, I visited again today I ordered the chef omelette and the chicken with cashews. Everything was soaked in oil, the omelette was very oily and soggy, the pork crisps were also very soft and others were over burn. The chicken with cashew nut was also soaked in oil, cashew were not crunchy, and the chicken was also very oily. I remember it used to be crunchy on the outside and soft from the inside. I left without barely eating anything, and sadly no one asked me if anything was wrong. I’m writing this review hopefully they will notice the changes and bring back the amazing quality that I used to love.

I did reach around 6PM. Actually not that comfortable to walk to reach here. However, it is worth to come. Food is actually a bit salty with seafood yellow curry but perfect with white rice. Pork belly fried.. crispy for real! Last dish such as a mini toast fried with minced pork?! Unexpected taste but still good. Above all, quite enough volume to fulfill your stomach. Michelin is waiting for you hahaha ~~~

A Thai restaurant listed in the Michelin Guide. Perhaps because the chef is from a hotel, the food is not too spicy for Thai cuisine. The recommended dish is the omelette. It has a nice texture with crispy pork on top. Cash only.
