The Ride-Along Report: First Takes From Last Night’s Dinner

"What It Is: A ’70s-themed bar on the Upper East Side with couches and bocce ball Perfect For: First/Early In The Game Dates We’re always looking for good bars on the Upper East Side, because, well, there aren’t many good bars on the Upper East Side. Jack & Franny’s, however, is a good bar. It’s a new 70’s-themed spot with a few couches, a bunch of booths, and a bocce ball court in the back. They also have cocktails on tap, with names like “1st Of All, Wow” and “Boulevardi Hayyy.” We tried a whiskey one, and it was great. We also liked that it was wasn’t too busy (it seems like no one really knows about it yet). Jack & Fanny’s already feels like it might be our new go-to bar uptown. The Verdict: Our favorite new place to drink in the area. We’ve added it to the Bar Hit List." - hannah albertine, bryan kim, katherine lewin, hillary reinsberg, chris stang, matt tervooren

Where To Go When You Just Want One Last Drink

"The Upper East Side has plenty of 1am drinking options, like flavored vodka in railroad kitchens and crystal carafes of really old Scotch in mahogany cigar rooms. But if those don’t seem like feasible options for you tonight, there’s always Jack & Fanny’s. It’s a big cocktail bar with couches and booths, as well as a bocce court in case that vodka-Red Bull gives you a second wind." - matt tervooren

15 Uptown Spots That Feel Like Downtown Spots

"Walking around the Upper East Side at 2am, it can be tough to distinguish between veterinary clinics and florists and bars - they’ve all been closed for hours. One place that stands out is Jack & Fanny’s, which gets packed with people drinking excellent cocktails, eating bar food, and playing bocce until 2am during the week (and 4am on weekends)." - bryan kim, matt tervooren

Where To Go That’s Like Union Pool But Isn’t Union Pool

"If you’re on the Upper East Side and you’re looking for a place where you can hang out with a group and possibly meet a future ex or two, Jack & Fanny’s is your best option. Sure, The Penrose is just across the street, but this place feels slightly less like a meet-and-greet at Kappa Kappa Gamma. It also has a few couches and a bocce court, and if you don’t look outside the front windows, you can pretend you’re about 90 blocks south on the Lower East Side." - bryan kim

Where To Go For A Casual Cocktail

"Our favorite place to drink on the Upper East Side just might be the little lounge area at the entrance to Jack & Fanny’s. It has two couches and a non-functional fireplace, and we could hang out there for several hours. But if you show up and the couches are taken, there’s plenty of other seating in the back. There’s also a good cocktail called the “Boulevardi-hayyyyyy,” as well as a bocce court for anyone who, against all odds, knows how to play bocce." - bryan kim

I had such a fun and memorable experience at Aunt Jake’s! Went for a girls’ night out, and it was the perfect activity. We took their pasta-making class, and it was absolutely worth it — just $60 for a hands-on, interactive evening. The instructor was fantastic — super friendly, engaging, and made learning to make pasta from scratch really enjoyable. We got to create four different pasta shapes and customize our own dishes with the sauce of our choice. The pasta was fresh and delicious, and the mussels I had as part of the three-course meal were a standout! Everything was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. To top it all off, dessert was a sundae that hit the spot and ended the night on a sweet note. Plus, I got to take home a ball of dough to recreate the experience in my own kitchen. Highly recommend Aunt Jake’s if you’re looking for something unique, fun, and tasty. Perfect for a date, a night out with friends, or even just treating yourself.

I normally don't like pasta that much but when I got here the food was scrumptious! Not only you can sit here and enjoying the food or the nice modern interior and warm welcoming as you enter the establishment. This place is also great if you wanna learn how to make your own pasta from scratch, place is great if you want to bring a friend or a big group of friends, or family.

Ambience: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Pasta date with my partner and I have to say it was a lovely experience. It’s $60 per person and you get a 3 course meal + the pasta making class. Very engaging and fun atmosphere to be around, you are next to other people but you don’t really notice if you’re with someone else. Instructions were very clear and easy to follow, I appreciate that our instructor is willing to clarify and help around. As for the 3 course meal it was all delicious. The chicken parmigiana had a good balance of spice and seasoning. I loved how fresh and crunchy it was. I would definitely recommend trying this with anyone!

Google
The pasta making experience was amazing! Chef Anthony was super funny and welcoming. The entire pasta making process lasted around 1.5 hours! Super super super fun! After making the pasta, we sat in our corresponding seats and they’ll start serving the food! They were not lying when they said THE PORTIONS ARE HUGE!!! The burrata WAS YUM! The meatballs were big and GOOD! We got the Spicy Alla Vodka and Chicken parmigiana and was not able to finish both entrees. Desserts were also pretty good! Really recommend for date nights, birthdays, friends gatherings

Google
Absolutely one of our top experiences in NYC. We were visiting from Austin, Texas and pasta making exceeded my expectation. Anthony was the bomb. So fun and engaging we were sad when it was over. He became a fast friend and we had the best past making group too. I am going to recommend this to anyone visiting New York. We loved our waiter too, the entire staff was phenomenal. Food was phenomenal! Sweet potato gnocchi in vodka sauce was a 10/10 and my husband felt the same about his lasagna. Great drinks!!! 10/10 5 star review!! Must do in New York!

Google
This restaurant offers a wonderful experience with great ambiance and service. Even for someone who doesn't cook much, the pasta-making class was incredibly clear thanks to excellent instructors. Be sure to arrive on time, as everything is ready when you get there. While you're enjoying the experience, your food is being prepared for later, and you can order cocktails and drinks throughout. I highly recommend this experience for a fun day out with family and friends.

Google
Amazing experience! The class was very fun and informative. The instructor was very friendly and had a great sense of humor. You take home the pasta you make, and they take your order for the dinner before the pasta making begins. Once you’re done with making the pasta, you sit down for an amazing 3 course meal. The food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this experience. The drinks were also on point!

An unforgettable pasta making experience, if you’re thinking about doing it… DO IT!! I took my mother and sisters here for a fun family activity and I would love for is to go back. The staff was amazing and helpful - super beginner friendly. Drinks are served during the pasta class - you make different types of pasta - and then you and and eat what you ordered at the beginning of the class. I forgot the name of most of names of what we ordered but everything was delicious. Get the doughnuts with salted caramel for dessert!!

Yelp
The food was delicious and all of the employees were so nice and friendly. Such a good class for a group of friends or coworkers. Anthony, the instructor, was charming, charismatic and sexy!

Yelp
***Highly Recommend, Great Experience, Huge Portions*** I came here with a friend to experience making pasta. For $60 per person you get to experience making pasta by scratch; we had a great instructor! Afterwards, you get a three course meal and honestly, it was so filling and delicious. But the experience continues because you get to take the pasta you made back home to cook and it was so delicious having another meal post the event.

Yelp
Honestly terrible. Sure making the pasta was a bit fun but was very out of pace and complicated. VERY tight and uncomfortable while making pasta and while eating (tables around 2 inches apart and feels like the person is eating right next to you). Food is very bad and i'd only recommend the Champagne Mussels.

Yelp
A simple, yet memorable pasta making experience that makes it an easy recommendation for any beginner or novice searching for an efficient, tasty and authentic night out. The class begins with placing a 3-course order before everyone is ushered to the pasta making island in the center of the dining room. Supplies are neatly arranged and the instructor walks through making 4 different pastas. The making experience is fun, interactive and well paced. Small and large parties sip and drinks and enjoy a lively atmosphere. About an hour later, everyone returns to the dining section in the front to enjoy the 3-course meal. Portions are generous. We ordered the Eggplant Caponata which was the definitive star of the show: sweet, flavorful and unique. The hot honey burrata is a pass, no hot honey and flavors are lack luster. For mains, I the tagliatelle carbonara and squid ink Cacio e Pepe were filling, and cooked perfectly el dente. Dessert sundaes were excellent. The punchline: while the 3-course is more an experience of decadent portions with solid execution that falls short of the City's numerous world class Italian establishments, Aunt Jake's uniquely positions itself as one of the best in its niche, a fun pasta making experience at an affordable price and an easy recommendation for natives and visitors alike.

Yelp
Amazing pasta making class with 3 course meal after the class. The food was freshly prepared and ready to eat after making the pasta. The ambience was lively and welcoming. Great service and attentive. A must in the city.

Yelp
Very fun pasta making experience! Cute date night activity or a big group celebration. The meal afterwards was delicious, the pesto could have used a bit more flavor but everything else was tasty. The class and dinner with no drinks came out to $90 pp which I think is a little steep. Obviously you are getting an experience, a meal and lots of food but they surge the price on weekends which is why I have an issue with the price. Overall would highly recommend! The staff was very kind as well.

Yelp
My friend and I came for the pasta making class over the summer. It was the class followed by dinner. The class was so much fun. We both enjoyed it so much. The dinner was amazing as well. We got: Fried calamari - really well seasoned, lightly battered and perfectly cooked Burrata app - I'm bot big on burrata but it was good Rigatoni Carbonara - so good Squid Ink Bucatini with clam sauce - solid, slightly bland Tiramisu - good Donuts - OK All in all, a great experience and dinner. Teacher was awesome. Servers were friendly. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The place is nicely spread out considering that they have the middle island for the cooking class and have to accommodate so many people. The chef that taught our class was fun and nice! It was a bit rushed but it's normal considering the timeframe of things and them having to make sure we have enough time to dine before the next class is done. The food was really good. I got their Caesar salad and their caccio e peppe and both were good and very filling, I barely had enough space for the dessert but needed to try their donuts which were also pretty tasty with the caramel sauce. Overall a great experience!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came to celebrate our anniversary through a pasta making class at Aunt Jake's! When we checked for reservations a couple weeks ago, we weren't able to find any, but upon contacting the restaurant directly, they were able to secure a reservation for us! The back of the restaurant contains a large table where the class is held, and the front of the restaurant has tables for the dining part of the experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the class and would highly recommend it to anyone! The staff prepares all the materials well and teaches everyone how to make dough from scratch as well as how to make a couple different pasta shapes. You are able to take it all home in a provided box. Orders for the three course meal are taken at the beginning of the class and at the conclusion of the class, you are seated at the tables with your party to be served. We ordered the salads as a starter, the rigatoni with garlic pecorino and cavatelli with carbonara as the entree, and the mason jar sundae and donuts as our dessert! Everything was delicious! I will admit that the restaurant and class is slightly cramped, but nothing too bad! The food does take some time to come out, but it's a perfect opportunity to allow you to digest your food between each course!

Yelp
Very fun pasta making class! Would recommend coming as a date or with friends - the instructors were super nice and honestly, it's a great deal for the amount of food you get (and take home!). The meal was delicious for the class and it was very cool learning how to makes pasta on your own!

Yelp
They have perhaps THE best cooking class deal in nyc!! For just $60pp, we got an hour long cooking class, an app, pasta, dessert and all the pasta we made during class to take home. The class itself was so much fun and very engaging. Our meal was delicious and we got even more meals out of the freshly made pasta we took home! 10/10 would recommend.

Aliza C.

Yelp
A 10/10 experience. The spot it so cute and the perfect vibe for a cooking class. All employees were so kind and helpful, Anthony especially was an incredible host and made the experience what it was. The dining was so much fun and so so good. Huge portions you won't be able to finish anything but best leftovers. Cocktails were very good, strawberry spritz was delish. 100% recommend coming for a birthday, event or if wanting a new activity to do.

Yelp
My friend and I came here for a pasta making class, followed by a 3 course lunch. The cost for all of that was only $60 + tax and tip, which was an amazing deal! The restaurant was quite spacious with the whole back area dedicated to pasta making. There was a rustic feel, along with a warm, welcoming ambiance to the place. For the pasta making class, there were spots already set up with flour, eggs, and all utensils needed. Our order for the 3 course meal was taken before the class started, so that the food would be ready by the time we were done. The instructors were very personable and knowledgeable. We made our own dough, which we then set aside. After that, we were given fresh pasta sheets to create 3 different types of pasta, including Farfalle, Garganelli, Mafalde, and Fettuccine (this one was made with a machine). I really enjoyed this part of the class. When finished, all of our pasta was boxed up to be cooked at home. Our appetizer for the lunch was Fried Calamari and we actually got more for free because the chef made too much. It was a great perk for us. The Calamari was delightfully crispy and well seasoned. The entree I selected was Lasagna with meat and 3 cheeses, which was HUGE! This consisted of ricotta, mozzarella, pecorino, along with ground beef and short rib. The pasta was perfectly cooked, with delicious melty cheese, and tender meat bold in flavor. I also got to try my friend's Shrimp Scampi, which was nicely creamy and lemony with peppery, succulent shrimp. Dessert was Tiramisu, made with mascarpone, ladyfingers, and espresso. This was light and delicate, with true taste of coffee, as well as velvety smooth, and just the right amount of sweetness. Service was wonderful throughout our time here, from the class all the way through our meal. It was such a fun and yummy experience!

Yelp
I was excited about the idea of making pasta with friends, and for the price, it's a great deal, especially since it includes a three-course meal. However, the experience felt a bit cramped due to the large number of participants. While making pasta was enjoyable, the overall food quality was mediocre. After our pasta-making session, we ordered calamari and burrata for appetizers. The calamari was a bit tough, but the burrata was delicious. I opted for the malfada with roasted garlic pecorino sauce, but unfortunately, the sauce lacked flavor and was quite disappointing. For dessert, we tried the fried doughnuts, which were a solid choice, especially with the accompanying salted caramel sauce. However, the doughnuts were quite oily, and the tiramisu was a bit dry. Overall, I don't think I would return to dine here.

Yelp
The class itself was nice and fun and the place has great vibes. The staff was super sweet and friendly. But the food was horrible I fear.

Yelp
The pasta experience at Aunt Jake's was so fun! It was a well-run pasta making class. It also included a 3 course meal. The food was amazing and it was great value! We loved that we got to bring home hand-made pasta. This is great for a big group or even a couple's activity.

Yelp
Anthony, who was our teacher, is AMAZING! From the class to our meal, everything was perfect. Definitely recommend for a date or a birthday party. Very fun and interactive!

Yelp
Such a fun experience! Cant wait to make fresh pasta at home! The instructor did an amazing job, he was very knowledgeable and friendly. He made sure he helped everyone. Excellent service! Tasty food and amazing drinks!

Yelp
FINALLY! I snagged a reservation at Aunt Jake's to treat my sister for her birthday and it was everything and more! I reserved online for $10 per person ($20 total) which is deducted from the bill after the experience. Make sure you get here at least 15-20 minutes early so you can settle in. Each person has their own "pasta making station" where you'll learn how to make different types of pasta that you pack up and cook at home. They are very organized when it comes to how they operate which is great. Once the pasta class is over, you're seated to enjoy a 3 course meal for $60 per person. You can also add in cocktails, soft drinks, etc. for an additional price. $60 for an app, entrée and dessert? Such a steal! Well worth the money and one of the best pasta making classes I've taken. Each dish was delicious and you can tell they were made with love. Will definitely recommend this spot for things to do in New York! Also - The sweet potato gnocchi is a 10/10!
google avatar

Diana N.

Yelp
Took my mom here while she was visiting NYC and it was a hit! We had so much fun w the chef and the rest of the folks seated near us. He was definitely spicy but we loved it lol! The class did feel really rushed if I was being honest... another session was booked after us as well. But if I were to overlook that slightly minor detail... class was great :-) Service was amazing regardless. I got the bottomless wine (just made more sense $ wise... right) for $35 and it was such a steal. Wine was also yummy. Definitely would come back again w friends or a quick date night! Food was 3.5/5- I got the squid ink pasta and I thought it was over salted. Mussels app was delicious though!
google avatar

Nicholas M.

Yelp
Came here for my girlfriend's birthday and it was honestly a great decision. There is a $60 pasta making class that includes dinner as well! Amazing deal, class, and food! The class is about an hour to 1.5hrs long and there is a teacher teaching while workers are prepping the dinner and serving water. The pasta making was loads of fun and we were able to bring it back home! The dinner portion was delicious! After working hard on pasta making we enjoyed a butter squash salad which was refreshing and calamari. The squid noodles and clams were good but the star of the show was the carbonara rigatoni that was so creamy with hits of bacon and flavor! It was the best out of all the dishes. The tiramisu was delicious and the donuts were puffy and easy to eat! The whole experience was incredible and it's a great place and activity for a date because of how fun and adventurous it is! Will definitely consider coming back!

Yelp
Pasta Making Experience~ This was so much fun to do as a girls night! I recommend making a reservation up to 30 days in advance, especially if you have a huge party because the seats fill up soo quick. You are required to pay half of the amount for a deposit so def coordinate with the girlies! You order your meal and then get right into the class first before eating. The class was fun and easy to follow despite having a large group. A lot of us (not everyone in party is required to) added on the ultimate sangria/wine package for $35 so we were sippin and rolling our dough. Service was attentive admist the chaos in our 9 person group which I appreciated. The appetizers and entrees are ALL delicious and served in huge portions. I loved the burrata and mussels as well as my tagliatelle with arrabbiata sauce. The caveat of the class is that the dough you kneaded so diligently has to rest, so you basically take that home and work with a precut sheet provided to you. Most of us didnt have much use for the dough ball, given that we don't own pasta makers at home. Nevertheless, a great experience with a pretty decent price point. The food was pretty good too so I would consider just coming back for a meal here.
google avatar

Yelp
I went here for the pasta making experience and it was definitely great and totally worth it! Both the experience and food was excellent! The staff are so nice and attentive, and our instructor Danica made it so fun! We order from the 3 course menu prior to making pasta and the food comes perfectly on time once we finish the pasta making experience. We had the calamari and burrata to start, chicken parmesan and meat lasagna as our main, and the tiramisu and donuts with a salted caramel sauce for desert. The mains had big portions, but our standout favorites were the calamari and the tiramisu. The calamari was perfectly cooked and battered and fried to a perfect crisp. The tiramisu was perfectly sweet and boozy. I usually am a part of the clean plate club, but there was a good amount of food that we took some home. The pasta making experience itself includes creating our own pasta dough. We then get pre-rolled dough to create pasta of different shapes. We got to keep both things at the end! It is a nice cozy restaurant and I'm excited to come back here for a more intimate date night when they're not hosting one of these experiences.

Yelp
I recently took a pasta-making class at Aunt Jake's, and it was such a delightful experience! The vibe there is super inviting and friendly, making everyone feel at home. Our instructor was incredibly patient, which helped make the class unforgettable. Honestly, it felt just like cooking in my kitchen with family! The three-course meal we enjoyed afterward was delicious, and the portion sizes were generous. What a fun way to spend the day!

Yelp
This review is really tough for me to determine a rating. In one hand the actual pasta making class itself was really fun and the pasta we made and took home was amazing, the meals we made from it lasted a couple nights and was incredible. The class itself felt extremely unorganized though as it was fun it took way to long to set up and get things going and the waiting around was kinda weird. The actual 3 course meal we got was huge disappointment. The risotto and my girlfriends squid ink pasta was just not good to be honest. The risotto had SAY too much sage. And the squid ink pasta just had absolutely no flavor. The calamari was honestly really good! The tiramisu was very very strange I was not a fan. The doughnuts were fine but the caramel with it was incredible! Come for the experience and the noodles you take home. Enjoy and alright to subpar meal!
google avatar

Vishnu G.

Yelp
This might be my new favorite pasta spot. The eggplant parmagiana was not breaded and fried, but baked instead, which made for a light and comforting option. The spaghetti was perfectly chewy, and the sauce was nice and bright. I also enjoyed the gnocchi and the spice of the Arrabiatta sauce, but I'd probably get a different combination next time. The best part is the complimentary focaccia served with the meal - crispy on the outside with delicious garlic and rosemary flavor, and plenty of olive oil. For $23 per dish before tax and tip, it's about average in price compared to other Italian restaurants in the neighborhood, but this spot stands out in terms of quality.
google avatar

Taylor W.

Yelp
Amazing experience that includes dinner and a pasta making class. We started off with dinner first. You get to choose one appetizer, entree, and dessert. You can choose from their own entree options or create your own by choosing the sauce and pasta you want. We got the meatballs, Hot Honey Burrata, Squid Ink Bucatini Vongole, and Tiramisu. The meatballs were pretty good and very moist inside. I am a big fan of burrata and anything hot honey so that entree was also pretty solid. I found the squid ink bucatini vongole to be decent but not amazing. The tiramisu was very good. The highlight of the night is definitely the pasta making class. You get to learn how to make a pasta ball from flour and eggs. You also get to learn how to shape 4 different types of pasta by hand. It was a fun experience and definitely a good date idea or friend hangout. Reservations are usually booked out of the whole month so plan early!

Yelp
Fun activity for a Date Night or birthday or Girls Night Out. The class is full so tight squeeze in there but it was informative and fun. the cocktails are readily available;-) We learned how to make 3-4 pasta shapes and took home our dough balls as well. The 3 course meal along with the class is a great value. The food itself was just okay but the portions were sizable. Because of the atmosphere and activity I would try it again. Maybe I'd try different menu items. looks to be getting very popular so when it's your time, get there on time. Be friendl & have fun.

Yelp
Made a reservation for 2 on a Saturday night 2 months in advance and the day finally arrived! We had dinner first and we were put at a table in between two other groups of two. It was a bit tight and would be nice to have a little bit more space in between but we ended up befriending the people next to us! We started with the calamari which was absolutely delicious and super crispy. We also got the hot honey burrata which was really tasty as well! For our main, we got the squid ink bucatini which was a huge portion size and had plenty of shellfish throughout. We also got the rigatoni with the broken meatball sauce and it was delicious and huge! To end, we got the tiramisu which was quite bitter and just okay but the donuts were absolutely incredible!! It was my partner's birthday and they decorated the dessert for him and was such a sweet touch. The 3 course meal will leave you very full but it was nice to digest and end with the class! The class itself was a blast. The instructors are super friendly and walk you through how to make pasta dough and provide you with 2 sheets of pasta dough to make different shapes to take home. The class itself was about an hour but it flew by! For $60 for a 3 course meal and a class, this is an absolute steal. Would definitely come back!!

Yelp
Pasta making class on a Sunday evening, while the weather still allows it?! Yes. I had an amazing time, and I did such a good job. Anthony our instructor was the best. Knowing his stuff and throwing jokes all evening, I was named sassy for the night. The staff is so on point and friendly. The ambiance def gives off staying at nonna's for dinner. The experience is a 3 course meal and fresh pasta to take home. For the price you cannot beat this and everyone should experience this at least once.

Yelp
Looking for a spot for pasta and Aunt Jake's fit the bill! Handmade the sauces were decadent without being too heavy. I liked the cavatelli with sausage/red sauce the most! The mussels were also pretty good, but could have used some more broth. Would recommend checking out!

Yelp
Booked this for my mum's birthday. Couple of things - it's a small place so decide accordingly. This goes for the tables when you're dining and when you're making pasta - your elbow will touch the persons beside you! Other thing is atleast for our group of 4, gratuity was added. it's 60$ pp for a three course meal and pasta making which is an ABSOLUTE STEAL! You can order drinks before pasta making and you also order food during that time Let's start with the pasta making - you knead, roll, make different types of pastas and then take them home. The chef and his assistant walks you very thoroughly through the process For food, we ordered a Sangiovese red for the table then ordered a bunch of things. They give you some bread for the table too. Amazingly the food is times perfectly with the pasta making and comes out right after so you have plenty to socialize during your meal and experience 1) meatballs: gigantic, flavorful in a rich sauce. Amazing and highly recommend 2) burrata: ofc you don't go wrong with burrata but it was a solid dish. The cheese was fresh and it was very well presented 3) salad (Try the calamari if you can; i have heard great things but they run out pretty fast) We did a bunch of pastas - so you basically can mix and match pasta and sauce We did the vongole which was a generous portion of clams with the pasta Then we did the squid ink bucatini Also the tagliatelle with bolognese Finally the mafalda with cacio e Pepe sauce Pastas were al dente and were generous portions with hearty sauces. It's very homemade-y in a great way Definitely recommend for celebrations and special occasions

Yelp
It's been a week since I've been here for my bestie's birthday, and I'm still singing many praises for Aunt Jake's! Such a fun & affordable experience to learn how to make pasta, and to enjoy a delicious 3-course meal! At $65 per person, the experience includes a pasta making class, and a 3-course meal. We placed our orders before we started making the pasta, which was great because we had plenty of wine and sangrias during the pasta making. They taught us how to make dough and 4 different pasta shapes, and we got to take this home! Everything is provided, so this is a truly seamless experience. I wasn't expecting too much of the food, but it was SO delicious. You really can't go wrong with any of the food choices, but highly recommend the burrata and the mussels for apps. Both were crowd favorites amongst our party of 9. For my entree, I got the mafalda with arrabiata sauce, and the portions were HUGE. Each entree is 1 lb of pasta - there's definitely enough to family style this with your party if there's a few different things you want to try. Also - they have a 2-hour all you can drink package here for $35 per person. So worth it, and man these drinks were dangerous. They were so deceivingly tasty but strong. We had GREAT service the whole time. I came early to drop off a cake, and they timed it well towards the end of dinner. There is a $35 cake fee. Highly highly recommend trying Aunt Jake's at least once with some friends.

Yelp
I went for the pasta making experience. And an experience and a time was had. Very hands on and enjoyable. Everything was explained to the T and the price was especially worth it. With the pasta you are making you take that home and order a separate appetizer, entree & desert to eat after the experience. Also did I mention unlimited sangrias ! Will definitely be returning.

Yelp
Overall, we loved our experience at Aunt Jake's. The amount of food (and pasta you get to take home) for $55 is great! Our one complaint was the service. They take your order prior to the class so that "the food will be ready when you return to your tables". However, we waited and waited for our food after. We didn't end up getting our main pasta dish until 1030pm (reservation at 8). Would definitely recommend just have large snack prior ;)

Yelp
Loved aunt Jake's! Came here for a pasta making class + 3 course dinner. The course was fun and informative and taught a lot about the basics of pasta making. The dinner was also really good, but some of the items were better than others but I think that's probably just down to personal taste preference and the quality of the food was good. I had the burrata appetizer, chicken Parmesan dinner, and pear mousse. Only feedback I have is that the service is extremely slow. This could just be because a class was going on simultaneously but I believe that is the norm and therefore maybe streamlining service would be better. However still a great experience with good tasting food so I do give it 5 stars still.

Yelp
Class started a tad late but it was fine as the reservation says to expect 2.5-3 hours in total for the pasta making and 3-course meal. Anthony was our instructor and thoroughly enjoyed his presence, humor, and speed of the class. The space could get cramped depending on the number of people in the class. Before you start, you can order beverages to drink while you're making pasta. They also will take your food order before class begins and will assign your tables so you know where to go. You take home all the pasta you make so you have dinner planned for another day. Calamari and caponata were plentiful and delicious!! I had the rigatoni with carbonara, for the most part was pretty good, big portion, pasta cooked well, but was a little bland. Lasagna was huge as well and was very tasty! The pasta making class with three course was absolutely great! Worth the $60 per person!! Definitely recommend this as a fun date night/family night/anytime activity!

Yelp
Came for the pasta making experience and thoroughly enjoyed the pre-fixe that followed after. The class felt a bit rushed but it was still enjoyable and fun. The pre-fixe was three courses/ an app, entree, and dessert. We went for the hot honey burrata & italian salad to start, chicken parmesan & carbonara mafalda for mains, and the donuts & tiramisu cup for dessert. The apps were ready for us when we were done with the class and were delish - especially the hot honey burrata. The entrees took some time but were hot and steaming - the chicken parm was definitely the way to go. The donuts (3) were paired with a salted caramel dipping sauce and the tiramisu was in a small bowl - perfect for a small, sweet bite.

Yelp
Joe & Jeff were enthusiastic and happy to be there and doing their school of pasta / great fun experience with dinner afterwards / had the chicken parma quite nice // accompanying pasta sauce a bit spicy for me / maybe not you / less is more when ingredients are concerned / but overall a worthwhile experience and a worthy entry into the UES foodie desert.

Yelp
Pasta making and 3 course meal for a great deal. The pasta making was fun and interactive, and you get to take what you make home! Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the event. We were then seated for our meal. Lots of options to choose from to make up your 3 courses, as well as plenty of drinks. The fresh pasta was great, though the sauce wasn't as flavorful as expected. They did not have any coffee to accompany dessert. Overall a fun experience and good value. They mentioned a stuffed pasta class upcoming that I would be interested in attending!

Yelp
Loved Aunt Jake's! What a cool place. I took my sister here for pasta lessons. We both really enjoyed it. When you get there, you check in with the host, they seat you at a table. You select from an appetizer, entree and dessert, and you can order drinks from the bar before the lesson, during and while you eat. I had the calamari, cavatelli, and doughnuts. I loved everything I had. I would definitely come back here again. The instructor, Anthony, was very helpful and friendly. Even though there were 30 people in our class, he rotated around the dining room and helped each student. We also had another server on our end, so we could see how to make the pasta with a closer view. My sister and I loved the entire experience and we'd definitely come back here.

Yelp
The food in the service was fantastic, but they've changed their business model to not be a restaurant per se but more of a class teaching people how to make pasta and then you eat, which is great but it's not just a place to go eat at just for fun you need to take the class

Yelp
Aunt Jake's for the win! Came to Aunt Jake's a few weeks back with my friend and we enjoyed the entire experience. Located on the UES the restaurant does not look like much from the outside, however, once you enter it is very warm and inviting. The food at Aunt Jake's is incredible and honestly I can't wait to come back to try more items on the menu. Here is what me and my friend had during our visit: - Beet Salad (shared) so good the honey vinaigrette was a show stopper. - I had the squid ink bucatini (minus the clams) - my mind was blown away! The sauce was spectacular. - Ravioli w/ roasted garlic pecorino - I tried a bite and I would definitely get this dish during my next visit. We both had a martini and the bar tender knows what they are doing as the cocktail was made to perfection:) The waitress was very attentive and stayed on top of our table the entire visit. I am so excited to visit Aunt Jake's again soon.

Yelp
For $55 you get a 3 course meal and a pasta making class - plus, all the pasta you make you get to bring home! Honestly, this was a 5 star experience! The whole experience is about 2.5 hours - you get about 30 minutes when you arrive to sit down and pick your 3 courses (so don't worry if you arrive a bit late) Then you start with the pasta making - You start with making your own dough which was super fun! Our instructor was very attentive and walked around to make sure we were doing ok. Because the dough has to rest, we were given a sheet of pre-made dough to cut into shapes which was my favorite part! I made 5 different shapes such as angel hair and farfalle! Afterwards, I got to eat this delicious meal! I wasn't expecting much because the whole experience was so cheap. But every course was big and delicious! I ordered the mussels for an appetizer and omg they were absolutely amazing! The sauce was so flavorful and the meat was tender! For my main course I had to get the clams with squid ink pasta - again, so good - clams were fresh and squid ink pasta was tasty and perfectly cooked! Lastly, I had their homemade tiramisu, the perfect sweet ending to this experience! This is something I'd 100% go back and do again! Highly highly recommend so go try it out yourself!

Yelp
I cannot recommend this place enough - take the pasta class!! It was so fun and worth it. You learn how to knead the dough correctly and then they bring out pasta sheets and you learn to make 3 different shapes. They bring drinks to your work station which makes it more fun. Then, you get to bring home all the handmade pasta, followed by a three course meal back at your table. We obviously ordered different things to try more options and everything was so, so good. The hot honey burrata was super refreshing and calamari was solid. I ordered the malfada pasta with carbonara and it didn't taste like the traditional creamy carbonara but it was really good - think the addition of the onions really did it. It came out in a huge bowl so I also had extras to bring back. Can't sleep in either of the desserts, honestly can't go wrong. I recommend getting the early 11am reservation if you can, you get to be the first group and it felt very calming. We ran a little over time so the next group who came in around 1:30pm couldn't all get situated since they were waiting for us to clear up. They fill up at least a month out so book early and I promise you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
I booked this months ago and the day finally came. I kind of forgot about it but they remind you and then I just scramble to get my friends together. I went back-and-forth with the restaurant deleting and adding people to my reservation. And it all worked out perfect, the staff is very accommodating. When we got there, they were very friendly and efficient. The class was fun. We got to take home our pasta that we made and then we got served at three course meal. Everything was delicious. I definitely recommend doing this.

Yelp
Food was great! Tried the chicken parmigiana and the lemon chicken. The spicy marinara sauce is so good. Service was great. Very attentive staff. The pasta instructor made learning fun and easy. The ambiance is great. You get to meet new folks and bond over pasta and drinks. Drinks were flowing. I tried the rosé sangria unlimited for $35. Not bad for a great tasting drink. Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
We went for the pasta-making class, which was so much fun! Dinner was great as well! Fantastic food and service, definitely check it out!
