We have been going here for many years, back when I was mostly posting on Urbanspoon app. They are only open for breakfast and lunch, and if you have a hankering for breakfast pancakes and hash browns and scrambled eggs at 1 pm, you can have it (if they haven't sold out of the cinnamon rolls by then.). A hamburger at 7 am?? Not so much. Although I do believe we have had the hamburger pattie alongside our egg platters before.
They usually have homemade cookies or fudge for sale up in front, for a take home treat. Not everything is cooked from scratched - does seem to be a fair amount of industrial foods so I notice allergies flare up at times. But this is a place frequented by locals as well as those wanting a break from their highway driving, and they keep the diverse collection of coffee cups filled with coffee as much as you want.
I've usually been too full to try their homemade pies and cakes for dessert. I will have to go try that out soon.
We love their big bowl of oatmeal and I usually order extra add-ins like nuts or raisins etc. It is big enough to share and so are the omelettes. The pancakes can usually be bought by the "each", so if you only want one, you can get one.
They do have a tiny salad bar and it tends to have a collection of various veggie salad mixes - like a coleslaw, a potato salad, maybe a crab salad, or a pea and cheese salad, that sort of thing. Not enough room to spread out with 20-30 different ingredients like the big chains known for their huge salad bars (you know, like Ruby Tuesday's etc.). If your doctor said "eat more veggies" then you can do that here!! It isn't all fried foods.
The decor is a wonderful assortment of traditional and historical tools of the American Cowboy, so that is a big plus if you are a fan of the Wild West.
