The 17 Best Desserts In LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"It’s normal to spend a few minutes taking in Aurora’s desert case. This modern patisserie in Mid-Wilshire specializes in ornate sweets that are molded and airbrushed to look like miniature sculptures. Glazed bonbons glisten like gemstones, Napoleons are flecked with silver leaf, and tiny St. Honorés have golden threads of caramel dripping from their edges. Although they look over the top, the desserts here are pleasantly not-too-sweet. Order three desserts and a coffee, and you’ll be down $40, so consider Aurora a special occasion patisserie—somewhere you can have a one-on-one meeting over sweets or a place to pick up a box of fancy treats for someone’s birthday." - sylvio martins, cathy park

Aurora LA - Review - Mid-Wilshire - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"It’s normal to spend a few minutes taking in Aurora’s desert case. This modern patisserie in Mid-Wilshire specializes in ornate sweets that are molded and airbrushed to look like miniature sculptures. Glazed bonbons glisten like gemstones, Napoleons are flecked with silver leaf, and tiny St. Honorés have golden threads of caramel dripping from their edges. Although they look over the top, the desserts here are pleasantly not-too-sweet, whether its a pistachio choux donut dusted in powdered sugar or the chocolate apricot square that tastes of tangy, airy mousse. Order three desserts and a coffee, and you’ll be down $40, so consider Aurora a special occasion patisserie—somewhere you can have a one-on-one meeting over sweets or a place to pick up a box of fancy treats for someone’s birthday." - Sylvio Martins

I saw this place on TikTok! And the fruit pastries look soooo good. I went to try it and I can honestly say, they are good but not $25 good. This pastries are sooo expensive and honestly Porto’s probably taste better. I am giving it a 4 only because they do look super cute but that’s all. It is not worth the hype!

Aurora is not without its challenges. You can expect to wait. You may not be able to get what you wanted. It's a bit chaotic. However, we were able to get most of what we wanted even at 4:30. The small cake was delicious but unremarkable. The raspberry was an outstanding combination of flavors without being too sweet. The lemon was the hit with remarkable flavor and texture. We would definitely go back.

Aurora LA is the sweet spot for anyone seeking to satisfy a refined sweet tooth. This boutique dessert destination elevates pastry into a form of art. Each piece is a meticulously crafted masterpiece, bursting with vibrant flavor and elegant design. From the moment you enter, the visual presentation is as compelling as the taste. Every item on display appears thoughtfully composed; the textures, colors, and plating suggest that the kitchen is as focused on aesthetics as it is on balance and flavor. Parking is extremely limited, which is something to be aware of. Arriving before 5 p.m. is highly recommended. Their daily stock moves fast, and for good reason. Once the display cases are empty, they remain so until the next day’s fresh creations arrive. Despite the logistical challenge of parking, and limited seating, Aurora LA is absolutely worth the effort. Whether you are a seasoned dessert aficionado or simply looking to treat yourself to something extraordinary, this is a must visit destination. Two thumbs up for taste and artistry.

We flew all the way from Vancouver BC, Canada to try these!! My toddler loves watching Jane Mukbang on IG eat these, so when we finally arrived at Aurora, he recognized them instantly and was so excited to try!! Our favorite was the banana and mango. The raspberry was a tad too rich for us but still everything was so yummy!! My son and i loved it, and it was well worth the trip. We wish they had a location in vancouver too 😢 Service was great too, everyone working there is so friendly. Everytime we visit LA, we will be sure to stop by aurora. We miss it already 😢

I hate these, only 1 tasted good which was the coffee bean. The desserts don't look as nice like the pictures and on top of that some desserts are smaller when i went in person. I seen videos of the same desserts and they were bigger. Looks like they downsized the desserts to make more money. Anyway the taste of the orange one was disgusting it tasted it so bad I can't even describe it and it looks very ugly and it cost 25 like really, the mango one, the filling inside wasnt good it tasted old but the cream was good. The long pastry eclair was very dry which means its old. Definitely not worth the trip i drove 2 hours and paid 70 dollars. What a waste money and time. At least the people there were very nice and kind to me. Other than that this desserts are not worth it. I wish i got my refund

We have been regular customers here for some time and have always enjoyed the chocolate cake. We used to be able to easily purchase the cake by the slice, which was perfect for us. However, recently, almost every time we visit, there is a particular employee who insists that slices are not available and only the whole cake is for sale. This policy seems completely impractical unless it's birthday and you need to buy the whole cake. The only exception seems to be when the owner is present—then, slices we can purchase by the slice. Unfortunately, because it's a hit or miss, we won't be returning.

This was one of the best pastry shops I have ever been to. The desserts are very expensive but not only worth the price with how good they taste, but they are HUGE!!! The clementine/orange one is so massive it’s the size of a large grapefruit. The raspberry/rosé one is even bigger than that! The banana one had speculoos in it and I have to go back for it. That is probably one of the best pastries I have ever eaten. I’ve spent so much time abroad but that one right there, is just beyond amazing. A very nice older man rung my friends and I up, helped us park correctly so we didn’t get a ticket, AND gave us extra chocolates to try totally free of charge. I cannot recommend this place more!! I’ll be back soon for my banana shaped dessert 😍 Los Angeles has the best dessert shop ever.

I tried their fruit desserts. It looks so cute. The raspberry and orange dessert is big about the size of a grapefruit, maybe even a bit bigger. Flavor wise, orange, mango and lemon is my favorite. The raspberry filling is good but I didnt care for the chocolate layer inside. I think if they remove the chocolate layer in the raspberry, it would taste better and feel more like eating a big raspberry. The chocolate is just throwing me off due to the bitter taste with the sweet and tart from the raspberry. I do like that the fillings inside are more fruity, which makes it yummy. It's not overly sweet but a little more sweet than my liking, but flavors are delicious. It is a bit pricey but you won't be disappointed.
