I'd have to say this is the Best Beer in Alpena and they make Great Food too! Cherry Bomb was our favorite for sure, but the Crypto and Stout were both right on as well! Burger and fries w/ garlic aoli the best But those Nachos are a definite must have.

Friendly awesome service, great food, and great beer selection, although we didn't have a beer this time. The brisket sandwich was great, it was tender and flavorful. The burger was good just remember to order toppings as you only get what you order on it. The CBR was great, the chicken was tasty and tender. We ordered fries which are awesome, best housemade ketchup ever! You can order a cup to go for 50cents. The potato salad I'll pass on next time, just not my cup a tea. You get a lot if it, the potatoes are firm, could be a little softer. A green dressing with a lot of dill. Might be good to some though. Ohh we also got the whitefish dip, pretty tasty! There were three of us and it was just enough for an appetizer. Definitely recommend this place!

We stopped in late at night just in time for a sandwich. So glad we made it in time! The staff was very welcoming and treated us great. We ordered a Cuban sandwich and fries, it was a great sandwich, but being from Miami Florida it was not a typical Cuban. It was close in flavor and it was a really wonderful sandwich! I would definitely order another one when passing through this area. The fries were very tasty, fried perfectly. All in all it was a great meal for us!

We have relatives that live on long lake and we visit several times a year. Like to find good places to eat. This is back behind another business so you can't see it from the road. They have an inside and an enclosed outside. There was picnic table inside and a few outside. We loved the cheese curds. Had the poutine burger. Loved it. The staff was helpful and nice. There was a bar inside. They brew beer on site.

I had dinner with some friends and their family here. The staff was patient and friendly, and the food was delicious and generous. My burger really hit the spot, and had the right amount of spice and cheese. The beer was top notch in quality, and I found the Slamnesia triple IPA to be my favorite. I can see why I’ve seen their beer sold even down in my neck of the woods. This is a great all around brewery.

I came here for lunch and my food was fantastic as usual but the best part of our visit was the server, Derek. Perhaps the best waiter I have ever had. He had the most amazing personality and an obvious love for his job and was very educated about both the food and beverages. My pastrami (house-made!) sandwich was absolutely phenomenal although the “slaw” was not what I expected but still delicious. Great fries and generous portions.

They have a beer for everyone. My wife ended up liking 3 beers and usually she likes one if that. Great Menu with Huge Portions at a great price. The service is impeccable. Lots of space during inclement weather, even more space when it’s nice out. This is a must visit if you’re within 3 hours of this place. Get the corn riblets and the Brisket Poutine Fries.

We really enjoyed Austin Brothers Beer Company in Alpena! The jalapeno avocado bacon burger was amazing, the fries were delicious, and we shared a pretzel with the beer cheese - that was really good too! Prices are pretty on point. The beer was really tasty. We both really liked the Blood Brothers IPA. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Super clean restaurant. If you're visiting from out of town like we were, this is the place to stop! 😊

I really enjoyed my visit to Austin Brothers! They have a nice outdoor (enclosed) seating area that was perfect for a sunny day! The service is friendly, I had the 45er IPA and it paired perfectly with my roadie burger. The burger was a smash burger and it was nice and juicy came with fries and arrived to the table pretty quick.

Visiting from Ohio. Fun atmosphere. Good crowd. Good food. Great beer! We arrived as they opened at noon. All tables quickly filled.

Food was perfect! And the beer is great also. The inside is quite small so you're more likely to find a table outside. They have a really neat open area as well that you can roam around in. Overall this place was great to hang out at. I even bought beer to go because I was so impressed with it and I knew I wasn't going to be able to get any when I traveled back home. Highly recommend coming here to chill if you're in the area!

Good place to go for a meal or beers. Great selection of house made beers but no wine or mix drinks. Food is good but I wouldn't say fabulous. Service was excellent. They have a very nice outdoor seating area. Definitely worth trying.

We went with friends for lunch. Food was good. Some items were very different such as, sauces and dressings. Expect the normal salad dressing and get a totally different spin. Has a closed in porch which is nice. Good portions and very nice wait staff. We will be going again.

I stopped here during my M-23 tour and enjoyed a 4 beer 5 ounce non flight board flight an appetizer and a late dinner. The beers were very good with my favorite being the Sumo Sumatra. My appetizer was the white fish dip that was huge and could definitely feed 4 people. The assortment of crackers and breads that came with it was wonderful. My entree was the chicken bacon ranch sandwich with fries was excellent. Indoor/Outdoor bar and flattop seating. Log cabin/wood theme. Clean with very good service. Wifi. Pre packaged beer along with souvenir glasses, shirts, etc. for sale. I took home a 4 pack of Sumatra. I would highly recommend if you're in the area.

Arrived Saturday at 11:50am, was seated promptly at noon. Waitress Erica was friendly and efficient. By 12:15 just about every seat, indoor and patio, was taken. The outdoor waiting area of tables and chairs were also filing up. It looked like some had beverages to tide them over until they were able to be seated inside for food service. The atmosphere was outdoor woodsy, and very clean. They also had a wide assortment of merch for sale. Rueben and brisket sandwiches, both with fries, were hot and tasty. Flavor of both meats were surprisingly smokey, but in a pleasant way. Husband thoroughly enjoyed the Blonde Ale. We'll look forward to our next visit!

Great place! Good food, great service. Burgers were fantastic and so was the beer. Our server was so knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. We will definitely go back. We took a six-pack of a cherry beer home with us!

Excellent food and beer. Beef brisket sandwich and broccoli bacon salad were incredible. White fish spread was also superior. Great service as well. It was our first visit but not our last I hope.

Austin Brothers... I've heard this brewery on more than one occasion and took the opportunity when I had a chance to try some of their beer. Steve and I had one beer from Austin Brothers and it was okay. It was the Murkin Man Blues IPA, a New England hazy style IPA. As I have said before I'm pretty picky with this type of IPA and felt like in my brewery adventures the best ones I've had are near the East Coast. This one I felt like was again just fair. It wasn't the most memorable one I have had and will be one that I will have trouble recalling into a blur of beers on brewery adventures that don't stick out. I wouldn't say this beer is a failure and meets all the basics for this IPA but I felt like I wasn't trying anything all that unique.

Beer and nachos were great. We sat at the bar and watched them bring out great looking burgers. We even took some of the beer home.

Enjoyed Austin Brothers twice while in the area for a fishing trip. Between my buddy and I we tried three different burgers and all were awesome. Don't miss trying the garlic aioli with your fries. We also tried 7-8 different beers between the two of us and enjoyed everyone. Service is good, attentive, and friendly. Highly recommended if you find yourself in Alpena.

Greatest place I have ever stumbled upon. My brother and I travel around the state for work once a month and we stop here every time we come to alpena. The atmosphere here is so comfortable and inviting. The service is extremely fast, I dont know how they get the food out so fast and exceptional. We won't eat breakfast just so we can have an empty stomach to eat all of the lunch. There is nothing on the menu that I wouldn't recommend, it's phenomenal. I wish they had one out by me in Macomb!

When I walked in I was greeted right away and with kindness. Asked all the right questions and even though they were busy had a table bussed almost immediately. The waiter Derek was freaking awesome and even told us the special along with the price (which I have seldom heard waiters doing). Food was delicious and the drinks were amazing. Has a heated outdoor along with an actual outdoor eating area. 100% would recommend and shout out to Derek for being an awesome host.

Great beer - our favorites the IPA, brown ale & milk stout, great service, outstanding beef brisket. Well worth going out of your way for! Highly recommended!

Absolutely loved this place! Made a day trip with my friend to Alpena, and I would drive 3 hours for the food alone. The hot brisket sandwich.. there's no words for HOW good it was! Cheese curds on a sandwich.. amazing. Plus the zing you got from the honey on the brisket meat was a nice combo. The whitefish dip was also delicious, and you get A LOT. The draft beers were delicious. The cherry bomb was our favorite, but we tried a different assortment. Another great Michigan brewery, and we will be back!

Wife and I had a great time here! Service was awesome! Tried multiple beers, they were off the charts - the best microbrews we have had. Sadly, not all the flavors are available in stores close to me. The soft pretzel was great. However, the burnt end sandwich left a bit to be desired. It was more like cubed beef, not true burnt ends - not even crispy. But, everything else was great. Worth the stop.

I was traveling through NorthEastern Michigan and was looking for good food and good beer. Ran across Austin Brothers Beer Company in Alpena. The food and beer menu looked good so I gave it a try....Well I can honestly say the food was fabulous...I had the Roadie burger...it was damn good and hit the spot...I tried a few samples of beer and sours...all were good but the Raspberry Vanilla Porter was my favorite....so much I bought some to take home. All and all the atmosphere was good and the staff was kind and attentive...even though they were slammed for lunch time!!! The price is more than fair for the quality and portions. If your in the area and don't try it...you've missed out...if your in a place that sells Austin Brothers Beer...give it a try....neither opportunity will disappoint!!!! Ohhh yeah...they have cool merch. for sale...yep liked it so much I bought a hat!!!! Very well done Brothers Austin and staff!!!

Great place great food good drinks. The poutine was the best I've had so far. The server was cool as could be. The decor was really relaxing. Hope to go back again in the future.

Awesome service, food and beer can't say much more than that. 8:00 pm close time was the only concern.

This was a neat place, I would like to come back and see how the outdoor is and see if u can bump it higher- they have good brews of course- they are sold commercially. But they have good food to match, inside was nice enough

Austin Brothers Beer is a great spot to grab a micro brew and relax with friends. The overall atmosphere is casual and laid back. Grab your favorite flannel shirt and pull up a stool at the bar. They have a large selection of beers to choose from. I was excited by the amount of porters available on the menu. I tried the milk stout, which has a nice deep roasty flavor with a unique smoothness that you'll just have to try if you're into porters. Their seasonal cherry bomb is also good too if you like Cherries when it's available. I was also surprised by their full menu of food complete with starters, apps, and entrees. I went with the beef and broccoli dish which was quite good. The tenderness of the beef cubes and crunchy crispiness of the broccoli was spot on. Looking around the room, their pastas and pulled pork sandwiches appeared to be great choices too. If you're in Alpena, and you love beer this is definitely a must stop on your itinerary. They even have large cans of beers to go, which are poured fresh from the tap and canned right in front of you. In the winter make sure to poke your head in the igloo if it's set up with a small heater inside to keep you warm. Guten Appetit and Enjoy Responsibly

Derek ruined the rating! His poor customer service and bad attitude towards customers is unbelievable! I honestly don't know how he still has a job. He has consistently been rude every time we have eaten here and has quite the reputation for being rude. We go back only because the girls are awesome with great attitudes and the food is good. The portobello pita is my favorite! Message to owners: Get rid of Derek! You have a top notch establishment. Don't let one bad apple ruin your restaurant's reputation.

Had dinner here with my family after my father's interment. The beer was incredible - live that beer flights are available so we could try a bunch. Burgers and pulled pork were excellent, I loved the broccoli salad - and the 2 vegetarians with us were thrilled with the portabella sandwiches and pasta salad. Garbage fries were so yummy. Next time I will likely get the fries and a flight and kick back and relax. The service was great! The waitress was attentive and a lot of fun! Will be back next time we come through town.

This is the first time I've been here and I heard rave reviews from co-workers. I went in for an early dinner... the place was really clean and a completely great hang out spot! Plenty of outdoor seating, indoor outdoor seating and limited indoor seating. Ambiance was industrial. The beer selection was pretty vast but sadly due to the night before, I was only drinking water... As far as the burger and fries, really good and would order again. The only "beef" I have with the burger is that it appeared to have too much mayo? On it and it was leaking outside the burger. But it was really good! Just be mindful! The fries were ON POINT. Perfect flavoring and crunch. There were SO MANY fries. I chose to try and dip them in ranch or the garlic aioli... I'm not sure if the ranch was made in house but it was really good and contained a lot of dill. Service was fast, friendly and Heidi did a great job.

UNBELIEVABLE. Designated driver and my passengers were refused service. Disappointed in Austin Brothers. Have been here numerous times. May not come back if Erica is serving.

Atmosphere is great. But hardly ever go here, after going 4 times and not liking what we ordered. Also don't like the ketchup.

Stopped in while traveling east coast Michigan, neat little place situated not far from Thunder Bay in Alpena, Lake Huron!

I like what I'm tasting. These guys know what they're doing and y'all should come check it out. Best beer on tap for miles! Update: Stopped in again while in the area. Food was good last time I was here and now it's even better. This place is getting popular not only for good beer but also for the food. They have a good variety, both food and beer. Pretty much something for everyone. For beer they have IPA's, sours, ales, porter, brown, etc, etc. For food I loved the Korean Pasta. However, if you like your Korean spicy like I do, ask for the saracha and pour it on! This is a must stop, can't miss, if you're in the area.

Good beer, good food, and great service. What else can you ask for? Oh, wait how about an awesome setting away from the busyness of downtown. The staff is very friendly and food is next level, one of my favorite places to eat.

I would actually give this restaurant at 3 1/2 if I had that option. Austin Brothers atmosphere is a little bit sterile and cold, to me. The food is a bit pretentious sometimes, but it usually tastes okay. I believe that when you are charging a premium for your food "OK "isn't good enough... The food should be excellent. I ordered pork belly one time that was not prepared correctly and it was just cold, chewy chunks of fat. It isn't the first place I think of when I think of just great food. The service is always good, however.

Absolutely awesome. Wanted to try something different while on vacation. The selection of beers as well as food was wonderful. We received our flight of beers while waiting for our food. The beer list had a nice description for each beer as we're not beer drinkers we were able to look over the list and select what sounded best. Each beer we choose was delicious! The beers also paired well with our lunch! Also was able to purchase a hoodie as well as look at other merchandise they offered. Will definitely look forward to being back next vacation.

Beer is outstanding. The staff is amazing. The food is good and consistent. I would love more veggie options and proteins that weren't smoked.

Ok I tried it one more time , had a NE IPA called Dads shoes . Appropriate. name , that's what it tasted like ! Dry bulled pork sandwich wasn't much better !

Had awesome beer here and my pulled pork sandwich was one of the best I've ever had! The wait staff was efficient and friendly! The restaurant is nicely laid out and clean and modern! Great bathrooms too!

Many many beer selections!!! Tried the Sumo Sumatra and the Milk Route Stout...lovely beers! The food portions are beyond generous resulting in another meal at home. The pretzels are sliced in half, 4 whole ones and fresh. Poutine with the addition of tri tip was a nice touch. The fries at Austin brothers are to die for! It rained yesterday...seems that going to Austin Brothers in the rain is a thing to do in Alpena. Very glad we went, and will return for their root beer tomorrow!!

In the middle of relocating to Alpena, we ran into this place. It needs a little better signage to find it , so be vigilant when driving there. The place looks like it's brand new. The service is impeccable. The food and beer are all tasty. Thank you!

Locally owned and not sold out to the big guys. Second best brewery in the state, IMO (I have a sweet spot for Bell's, so I'm biased a touch). Great food, great people, AMAZING BEERS! This place is kicking out some of the finest beers I've had and I have been all over the world tasting local the brewery's best. Did I mention it's locally owned? The only problem with this place is that it's a long way from home. If I lived closer the only problem would be that i would be broke because it's that great. LOL Five stars is a hard thing for me, but Austin brothers deserves it. I command you to go here, eat here drink here and buy their beer here (or wherever it's sold). Your welcome :-)

We absolutely loved everything about this place. I'll never go to Alpena again without stopping here! Our service was great, food was amazing, and the beer was unique and delicious! The Greek taco was one of the best things I have ever eaten. My Husband's bacon Mac and cheese was incredible. We got the beer cheese fondue appetizer. It was a huge portion and was sooo cheesy and yummy! Thank you Austin Brother's Beer Company!

I wanted to give it 5 stars but the service is awful! Sunday night and we got here and it was not busy but the waitress took soooooo long that she put in our order with two other tables of 6 and then some other groups came and it got worse from there! Awful service! They have plenty of "girls" running around but none are worthwhile. There were only 2 of us and they encouraged us to sit at a table and another couple came in a full 20 minutes later and got their beers and appetizer before we ordered. Food was great. Gumbo amazing for a Michigan city! Fries and homemade ketchup was good. Baja Tacos good as well beef brisket. See photos

Came in to try the joint for the first time, actually no complaints! I was greeted, ordered it came right the first time! Was checked on several times everything was great. But for the love of God Pepsi please!

Great place. Great staff. Great beer. Good food. Be sure to mix the Cherry Ale with the Double IPA. Trust the bar keep.
