Live Fire Postponed Over COVID-19 Precautions, New Date to Be Announced | Eater Austin

"A beef-focused culinary event organized by the Austin Food & Wine Alliance was postponed from its April 2 date because of the novel coronavirus outbreak and the city’s ban on large gatherings through the end of April. Organizers said refunds will be issued and a new date announced later, and they urged would-be attendees to support businesses affected by event cancellations via relief funds and related events. The postponement was framed against the cancellation of South by Southwest and broader concerns about staging large-scale events; this year’s lineup, which would have showcased Texas and other chefs cooking beef dishes and would have included Houston chef Hugo Ortega, will be delayed. The decision followed the city’s rule banning gatherings of 2,500 people or more unless organizers can demonstrate clear methods to prevent virus transmission, and came amid rising case counts in Texas (13 confirmed statewide at the time, none yet in Austin)." - Nadia Chaudhury

Had a great time, big thanks to Danny and Kyle. (I'm horrible with names I hope I got it correct.) We met on 2 occasions due to finding out they sold T-shirt's after our first visit. Had to go back, which was a pleasure and wonderful experience. Both times.

Daughters and I were in town for a National college sorority convention. We saw the tshirts displayed at the fire station near our hotel. The crew of the station was so friendly and appreciative of us buying four tshirts! They all asked where we were from, gave some places of interest to see, one firefighter was heading to Maine and he we talked alot about him visiting our state! Spent about 45 minutes with these hero's!! Thank you! And thank you for the tshirts 👍🇺🇸🙏

Chief Joel Baker not only needs to be fired, but needs to be criminally charged for his lack of saving lives and deploying his trained personnel and not sending them to Kerrville for the floods! All bc he was worried about money!?! Lives ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN MONEY!!!!! Plus you were briefed that you would be reimbursed anyway! HE was just too incompetent to realize that! He needs to be sued and in Jail!!!

Maybe three years ago you guys did me a solid and helped me cut off the lock on my bike when I had lost my keys and would have had to leave it at work for weeks to get a new key sent in. Thank you! Professional and friendly.

Heartfelt thanks to the crew who rescued me and another woman from a stuck elevator at 300 Colorado Street on Friday the 13th, no less! Y'all were courteous and professional, and I didn't get to express a proper thank you to y'all! My heroes one and all!

These guys are truly awesome. After being in a car wreck, my wife was very shaken up. To make things worse she ended up dropping her keys down a storm drain. They responded to what I know is a petty incident compared to a lot of other things they deal with and helped us out when we thought things couldn't get any worse. They recovered the keys and saved us from a towing bill as well as replacement costs for the key since it was a rental car. Thank you so very much for your service and stay safe.

You firefighters rock including Will, Casey and Josh who helped me out when I was desperately hopeless, unable to locate my car that I parked early this morning in a car garage of unknown address!! You were so patient and kind and gracious to me to successfully locate my car around 7:30PM!! Also, another kind firefighter gave me a glass of water. You all make my heart full. You are so dedicated for all your hard work that you do day in and day out. You truly are my heroes!! Sincerely, Lourdes
