Where to Play Pickleball While Eating and Drinking in the Austin Area

"Get your dink on by making your way over to the North Austin venue to enjoy some serious pickleball action with 16 indoor courts. (The downtown rooftop has sadly closed.) There are non-alcoholic drinks and snacks available for purchase. Court rentals range from $20 to $40 per hour, but if you become a member, you get free open play every day." - Darcie Duttweiler

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five Dinks Out of Five If you're looking for the perfect indoor pickleball gym in Austin, Austin Pickle Ranch is it. The courts are top-notch, the AC is blessedly cold, and the vibes? Unmatched. I play in Open Play Level 3, which is that magical mix of good competition and great laughs. I'm a 3.5+. SO whether you’re a strategic shot-maker or just here to run around with style (guilty), you’ll find your people. Using their app is easy to book open plays, coaching sessions or a court for some competitive play. Now let’s talk about the coaching squad. These folks are like the Avengers of Pickleball (or the ABC Coaches): Austin: Smooth, smart, and sneakily savage with the tips that will totally level up your game. Brandon: Brings the energy of a hype man and the knowledge of a pickleball wizard. 10/10 would take his advice again (and again). Camden: Moves like he’s part of the Matrix and teaches like your favorite PE coach—but cooler. Whether you're new to the game or plotting your dinking domination, this place has it all: amazing staff (hi Michelle, Matilda, Jeff, Eli, Erin! and more), great competition, and an always-welcoming community. Bonus points for not having to worry about the weather. Because nothing ruins a third-shot drop like the Texas humidty. Highly recommend. Just don’t take my court spot!

Erin and I have played at almost every spot in Houston and we play whenever we travel. This is the best indoor pickleball facility I’ve ever seen. Honestly, it’s the only one that didn’t leave me wishing I had hearing protection. From sound abatement on the walls to turf in the ample common areas and little details like carpeting where the fences are mounted between courts, it is an absolute pleasure to play here. Some other nice touches were calf stretching boards and boot (shoe) scrubbers. Great, welcoming community at open play and players at all skill levels. Games were a blast. Great work, Austin Pickle Ranch. We’ll definitely be back.

Google
This is one of the best indoor pickleball places we have played at. The courts are very nice. Reservations are needed to play, and they book out about 5 day ahead. Nice seating and areas to sit and watch. (Perhaps a bit short on the back and sidelines) Overall, it's a very nice play to play!

Google
We had a great experience at Austin Pickle Ranch, who hosted our recent fundraiser tournament. They had great communication along the way, organized the logistics of the tournament, and kept everyone engaged throughout our event. Also, the venue itself had plenty of indoor courts, lounges, and space to host our large group making it the perfect location for us. We highly recommend!

Google
Pickle ranch has a phenomenal facility, not to mention outstanding staff. There’s always a positive environment and the coaches are always there to help. The sessions are well organized and the staff monitors each session to ensure that players are in the correct level. Play is competitive at the higher levels, but not to the point that it gets too serious. This is what makes the Pickle Ranch the #1 facility in the Austin area in my opinion.

16 Pickleball courts to play on, great seating while you wait or watch. Friendly and fun staff. Highly recommend this indoor option for pickleball.

$22 for two non-members to play for an hour (during non-peak hours). Easy check in. Free water refills. Will return!!!

Google
I'm giving the Austin Pickle Ranch five stars for its facility, staff, open play, clinics, and social atmosphere. The pros are all great, although our favorite is Austin Bricker (watch for him on the PPA tour). We've met many new friends and highly recommend anyone new to the game start here, as they offer all the basics to set you up for success. We look forward to a south location expansion and possibly reopening the downtown rooftop (hint hint).

Yelp
Great facility, great staff. Open play is really happening. It's one of the best pickleball facilities in Austin. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I've been to a few pickleball courts and this court blows them all away. Everything you can ask for is pretty much here. Well spaced courts, Some of the walls are even padded! Great music Awesome vibe from staff and players Lots of parking! Well designed reservation system Comfortable ventilation Clean facility Beautiful colors and design Lots of comfortable chairs to rest while watching If I had to find something that can be improved it's probably the bathroom in the middle. It needs some love because it feels old and dirty. For men, go to the bathroom near the front desk close to the entrance. Much cleaner, modern and nicer to use. I drive through stressful traffic to get here every time but my stress goes away when I start playing here. Can you please open one up in Pflugerville? haha

Yelp
If you're curious about where to find me most nights, it'd be here. My friends and I signed up way back in March before they officially opened and it has not disappointed. With 16 cushion-x courts, you can play for hours without taking too much of a toll on your knees and feet like you would regular outdoor courts. Each court is well placed with a seating area and TV where you can hang with friends if you book a court. Open play is all day from open til close and is divided by skill level. They also limit the amount of people per open play so you don't end up like some other places where you have to wait one hour per game. If you book a court with friends, you can all split the court cost unlike some places that charge per non-member. There are beverages and hot foods for purchase. The staff is always friendly and the owner is a pretty cool guy, until you play against him (he's a 3.5 at best) =D.

Yelp
It was my first time playing pickleball indoors!! This was a nice break from the cold outside. My friend made a reservation. Rates seem to vary depending on if it's off peak or not. I think the rate my friend paid was $40/hr, which seems a bit pricey, but if you get a subscription and play a lot of pickleball, I can see how people would sign up because there are so many courts! Almost all of the courts were filled and we were playing at 9 PM. They have their own parking lot but it was a bit confusing having to go around the building to find the entrance. I wouldn't feel safe walking alone in the dark, but once we're actually inside the building, it's quite warm and inviting. You check in with them and then go to the assigned court number. There are snacks/drinks to buy. I think they also sell their own tumblers. There are water fountains next to the restrooms.

Yelp
We visited Austin Pickle Ranch from Houston and so happy we did! We were able to book a morning Saturday session - 2 hours for $15 - I did have to book it days in advanced before they fill up quickly. They separate open play to three divisions - beginner, intermediate and advanced. The intermediate is a big range (3.0-4.0) but luckily it wasn't so bad. Out of about 15 players, 2 struggled a bit with play but all the players were pretty patient and friendly. The lighting is bright so when hitting lobs, you feel like you're playing with the sun. Ceiling is a little low so you'll need to learn how to control your lobs. One court had a fan blowing so it may impact the ball a bit. I do like that they have artificial turf between the courts which prevented the ball from rolling far. The sound barriers are great because it wasn't that noisy as opposed to other indoor clubs we've played at. We def will be back whenever visiting!

Yelp
New Pickleball spot in the north end... And it's indoors. Gotta love it. This place is awesome. The vibe inside feels very hipster and the courts are near perfect. Not sure if they have AC, but there are plenty of fans and definitely much cooler than playing in this Texas heat. 16 indoor courts with players at various levels throughout the day. For open play it's about $13 for 2 hours. Their website is fairly easy to navigate and book a court.

Yelp
My favorite indoor pickleball courts in town that I've been to so far. I have really enjoyed their ladies night - it's a great opportunity to practice with no pressure. Everyone has been so friendly and encouraging.

Yelp
Came here late night and reserved a court for an hour. I really enjoyed their facility since it's indoor and it's really spacious. There are many courts that you can choose from and good lightings. The only downside is it's pretty expensive and most outdoor pickleball courts are free. I think for the experience, it's worth going to. Highly recommend going there at a later time since it's less crowded

Yelp
I love playing pickleball here. They have various levels of open play sessions. It's so easy to sign up for a session, and everyone I've met playing has been so nice and friendly. It's a great way to play pickleball when you don't know a lot of other players. I also am a fan of Ladies Night because you can bring friends new to pickleball and there's a mini-lesson to help them learn. The courts are in great condition and it's easy to book.

Yelp
Indoor pickleball with 16 courts!!! Open play has beginner, intermediate, and advance. They have beverages and a hot food machine in case you get hungry while playing. Facility is clean and bathrooms are always stocked.

Yelp
I did it! I finally played pickleball for the first time! And loved it! I don't have a comparison point but found this venue to be welcoming, clean, with equipment in great condition. The desk was staffed by helpful people and the corner courts were ideal for us beginners who shot the ball in every which way. The inside area, the larger section of 20ish courts in two neat rows, was intense and intimidating with professional-level players. It did smell like a men's locker and maybe some airflow would've helped. Or one of those scented air freshener mist fans.

Yelp
Austin Pickle Ranch is the perfect addition for local pickleball enthusiasts! Unlike many pickleball courts in Austin, Austin Pickle Ranch operates indoors and offers 16 courts. The location is a bit remote. Once you arrive on the property, follow the signs and those with paddles. Austin Pickle Ranch operates via reservations only and the system opens five days in advance to the date of your choice. It's important to also make sure to select the appropriate level (1-3), based on your skill. Though courts can be reserved by the hour, memberships are also available. Pricing varies, off-peak rates are $20 per hour before 5 PM on weekdays vs $40 during on-peak after 5 pm and on weekends. I love the space, artificial turf and seating provided in each section of the court, it allows you to slow things down in between sessions.

Yelp
Man, I really wanted to make this spot my pickleball home, but it was way too hot! The space is HUGE, so I know it's got to be super difficult to keep it cool, but not impossible. If management can fix this one thing, this place would be almost perfect! The positives: The layout is great. You can walk around without having to interrupt games. Their open play reservation system keeps overcrowding to a minimum. The court surfaces are great! The barriers around courts largely keep the balls from interfering with other games. The leveling system is self-monitored, but it's still nice to be able to sign up at your skill level. If you're an off-peak hours player, then the pricing isn't bad. If you want to play peak hours, then the pricing isn't as great. It also doesn't come with free court reservations like a different club does for the same price point. But it's huge and beautiful, so it's a good spot for indoor play.

Yelp
I went here last week with a few friends. It was such an awesome facility with so many courts. It was $40 for an hour but split between the 4 of us it was $10 a person. It had a good amount of people for a Tuesday night. I definitely recommend trying to book 1-2 days in advance for a prime time evening spot. Otherwise you can book day of and get the time you want. The have a ton of parking and plenty of signs. We all brought our own paddles and balls but I think you can rent them for free. They also sell different kinds of beverages and have free water cooler if you need anything to drink.

Yelp
We had a fantastic coaching session with coach Jed Miracle on Saturday and had an absolute blast! The facility was top notch and the session had these four newbies ramped up and playing an actual game within 30 minutes. We loved the whole experience and will definitely be back!

Yelp
I'm not a member. My friends and I booked for a weeknight 8-10PM and it's about $15 pp if you can gather 6 folks. Facilities are clean although I didn't use the bathrooms or venture into the 13 court space. Played on Court 2, which didn't have chairs and you have to cross court 1 (?) to get to it. It's still not bad. Plenty of parking, water available. If anything the lighting is too bright. If you're a member, you can book court times for a discount on the rate. I plan to play here more and probably sign up to be a member.

Yelp
Website busted, can't register, tried on 2 browsers across 3 devices. To top it off, nobody answers the phones. Yikes.

Yelp
New location for Austin Pickle Ranch on Braker Lane! They have 16 courts and indoor facility is huge! Plenty of parking available, but not the best location I do miss the old location on W6TH. The best part is that the facility is all INDOORS perfect timing to avoid the Texas summer heat! The courts are top notch condition and kudos to the design on the interior looks very spacious! Sweat Pals does weekly events where all level of players can sign up weekly or you can sign up on APR business website for open play!
