Friendly staff, cool merchandise; got a few caps and a t-shirt. Definitely a cool place to check out when visiting Austin.

Would’ve given 6 stars if possible. Great group to deal with. I’ve heard plenty of horror stories about dealing with speed shops, and it can definitely feel daunting to drop your car off into the unknown. However, the team at Austin Speed Shop has been nothing short of astounding: super transparent, responsive, and detail-oriented throughout the whole process. In full disclosure, I’m not the easiest customer to deal with — and my car was a lot worse. It limped in with one working brake, a motor that was basically a hand grenade, and wiring that looked like mom’s spaghetti from 8 Mile. They handled everything flawlessly: 4-wheel disc brakes, a full new wiring harness with digital gauges, an entire motor swap, and more. Top-notch work all around. 10/10 — highly recommend.

Amazing experience! My mom is visiting from Florida and this was a stop on her list! Lots of amazing photo ops. Nick helped us and took the time to “talk shop” with my mom. Lots of amazing cars to view! Great gift shop. Beautiful store and showroom!! Thank you!

As a lover of all things automotive, this was a bucket list item for my husband if we ever got to Austin. We know this is a working business and people still need to focus on their projects. We didn't even ask for a tour but some conversation, friendly banter never hurts! The guy behind the counter was more interested in paying a bill on his phone than in talking with us. Said it's not his usual gig, the woman was not there yet. When he had problems with his card reader, then he was apologetic! Better customer service goes a long way, my friend! Still a great place to visit for all ages, even if you've never seen the show and just love cars!

Yelp
If you own a classic car then you know how hard it is to find a reputable shop that has the expertise to do quality work in a timely fashion. Nick and the team are top notch, did quality work and the communication was consistent. They rebuilt my 454 BBC complete with aluminum heads/540hp top end kit, new transmission and new rear end. My 67 Camaro runs better than ever. While they may not be the cheapest you get what you pay for. The quality of the work, knowing it's going the be done right the first time and the peace of mind your classic is in great hands is worth the premium. Cool shop and cool team.

Yelp
I called them to work on the air bag system on my vehicle, which she said they do work on. She then said they don't work on newer vehicles, which is of course there decision. I said but I need help and my money is green too, and she just hung up... They could have told me whom they know that might help, but hang up...so uncouth!

Yelp
Old Austin didn't die, it just moved father South! The one and only Austin Speed Shop was one of those little appreciated places unless you needed things like bearing machined out and replaced or brake disks resurfaced. I remember going there with my dad when I was a kid then I grew up and took my sons with me there too. Fast forward 30 years and now Austin Speed Shop has a new life as a custom car and fabrication facility with a gift shop. This is a fun place for kids too so they can see vehicles being turned into works of art. There are plenty of huge plate windows to look through while you shop for souvenirs, shirts and ball caps. Rocco is there to greet you but don't be afraid of his menacing look, he's a super friendly guy all the way from up north. All in all a cool place that you get to see in person on the new show "Outlaw Garage" featuring Jesse James.

Yelp
Save your money go somewhere that actually cares. Explained to the guy that I'm a disabled veteran. I'm not able to do what I would like to my firebird. Asked if they could swap the Auto for a T-56. He said quote naw we don't do anything that new. It's a 69. I've seen them do new cars than this. I guess you have to be a movie star for them to touch it. So if your a VETERAN don't waste your time on this place. On the flip side anyone wanna help a veteran out and make some cash hit me up. These losers don't like money I guess.

Yelp
I was kinda stocked to stop by and check this place out while I was in town. Drove over walked in and the guy up front didn't say a word to us .... until I asked a question for something , he had the attitude of a person that hated his job. So if your thinking of stopping down here excited, curb your excitement and don't expect much of anything. Oh also Jesse James has nothing to do with this shop since 2013 FYI these guy are more of tools than the tools they might know how to use.

Yelp
Great craftsmanship, cool products and a great staff! Mike Rocco aka Rocco is a great dude and will crack you up. Jesse James is rarely there but is so cool when he is. Weather you are having car customization done or in to take a look and buy ASS products, it's worth the trip!

Yelp
One star too many, been watching these guys build great cars for years now on tv, came from Cali to see Austin and drop by this place, first thing when I walked in guy at front " what do u want ?" Really ?? Waste, learn some manners friend

Steve T.

Yelp
Stopped by the shop today while in the Austin area. I spent some time talking cars with Rocco and he was easy to talk to and informative about builds going through the shop. I'd definitely consider them for working on a build. I'd love to be back for one of their sponsored events.

Yelp
I just wanted some pin stripe done on my VW rat rod. I was told our guys only paint "traditional hot rods". Adios you pious Mo Fo's!
