Ordered chicken nachos. Plenty of toppings and it fed me for lunch. Loved the music track 😅 It’s not open in the evening during the week - which is inconvenient for business travelers who want to hang out, order apps and a drink after work. Bet it would be a cool place to hang out in the weekends.

Google
The chicken 🐔 nachos won me over. I'm not a huge fan of chicken but this was delicious! The bird was perfectly seasoned, plenty of crisp crunchy onions, etc. Generous pieces of flavorful meat & veg. for everyone.

Google
Fun, vibrant atmosphere. Very eccentric. Great food! I had the kicked buffalo chicken taco, and the fried fish taco. Also the guacamole with pepita seeds and pomegranate. So delicious! My friends had the fried fish taco and the baja shrimp taco, and then carne asada tacos and loved them as well!

Google
This is my 5th visit, and the taco’s are always the star of the show. The menu allowed flexibility of ordering the taco in mix or match, meaning you could order fish and shrimp taco, carnitas or beef, chicken and the Austin taco. I love the flexibility and ability to mix and match the tacos. This time I order the Fish and Baja Shrimp. I didn’t disappoint. The cheese queso with house made chips is to live for. Vinny was the Server and he was AWESOME 🥳🥰😇. He was entertaining, knowledgeable and friendly. Vinny made us feel right at home unlike the past visits, thankful the 3 female servers are no longer at the Taco Project. I’ve given negative reviews based on their lack of Customer Service. The ambiance in the restaurant is fresh, clean and has good VIBES!

Google
The final taco stop of this trip was less than what I’d hoped for. We walked in to an essentially empty restaurant to be told we could not sit in a boot because “they might get busy”. It didn’t get busy. We started out with the queso from the happy hour menu. It was ok. About 15 of the chips were fried together and soggy, but the ones that were crisp were good. I had the fish tacos and my honey had the chicken nachos. My tacos were quite good… the fish crisp on the outside and tasty on the inside. The chicken nachos were meh, at best. The sauce was great, but the chicken was rubbery and just didn’t taste good. It didn’t help that my dinner can 7-10 minutes after my honeys. Overall, this was a bit of a letdown considering where we are… so many better taco options within walking distance.

Google
The breakfast buffet was nice but overpriced for what was offered. Some hot food items were not hot but just slightly warm. They offer a pet friendly environment that is understandable with people traveling with their family pet. I would suggest that there should be an area away from the main walking path through the restaurant for those guests with pets to be seated.

Google
The restaurant is directly across from the Austin Convention Center where we were attending. The service was friendly and prompt. The restaurant was quiet and attractive. The food was excellent. I got the Carne Asada Tacos: excellent. The beef was tender and flavorful. They come on corn tortillas, but I requested flour. When we return I may try something else, but will be tempted to get that again. Our waitress was friendly, and the manager stopped by to check on us as well. Unfortunately, I was so hungry I forgot to take pics of my food. It was pretty.

Google
Good tacos. The baja shrimp taco is super tasty and crunchy. The sauce is also very delicious. My friends also ordered the beef tacos (both smoked and briskets). Really good french fries to go along with the tacos too.

Yelp
Wasn't sure what to expect from a restaurant inside the Hilton in downtown Austin but when I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised. It was a nice area with plenty of seating. The staff was friendly and attentive to our group. We ordered the queso dip with chips, which was AMAZING! We all got a different type of taco combination and I must say, the shrimp tacos were delicious. The shrimp were not overcooked and had a great spice to them. Definitely a spot to come for good food and good atmosphere!

Yelp
I could remember if I reviewed this place or not but this is a pretty cool restaurant at the hotel that you can get a quick bite at. My girlfriend and I ate here about a year ago and we used our diamond reward for the breakfast and I got to say the breakfast burritos were really good. I also want to say we had lunch here too or something. I can't remember but I know for a fact we both really enjoyed the breakfast burritos. I believe they still open late, which is nice. If you're looking for a quick bite , this is a spot to give a try. I remember giving them a five star because the breakfast burrito was actually quite good. If you're staying at this hotel, you don't feel like going far. You have some pretty good options here with their food selections .

Yelp
I had lunch here during SXSW. Great food and service! The cactus tacos were flavorful and served piping hot (temp, not spice). There is a nice spacious patio next to the light rail. They have gluten free options. My husband has Celiac disease and asked the server about ordering. She was honest and advised they aren't able to accommodate someone with celiac disease (try to avoid cross contamination) due to the use of flour tortillas in addition to corn tortillas. We appreciated her honesty and he opted to just order a drink. So I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone with Celiac disease or a wheat allergy.

Yelp
I was staying in the Hilton and appreciated the convenience of the location. I was seated quickly. The waitress was a little spastic and awkward. Food was beautiful and the tacos were good but way overpriced. The drink didn't make it out until I was almost finished with my meal. I would try a different restaurant in the future. There are was too many REALLY good Mexican food in Austin to choose this again.

Yelp
Austin taco project is located at the Hilton hotel, they have a very decent size bar and indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were very friendly, I ordered shrimp tacos for carry out. The tacos were good, nothing very special. I'll definitely try it again and experience the dine in experience and try other items on the menu.

Yelp
We stopped in here for lunch during a conference. This restaurant is located in the Hilton hotel directly across from the Austin Conference Center. We had no wait to be seated. We ordered chips and dip and burrito bowl and salad. So delicious. Service was great too! Very cool decor.
google avatar

Colleen M.

Yelp
Delicious tacos that hit the spot! Not to mention the spicy margarita - best I tried while in Austin. Especially convenient if you're staying at the Hilton (which I was).
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food! Highly recommend the Baja tacos. Great vibe with games and tvs to hang out, low key.

Yelp
I usually do not write reviews. And I don't write them necessarily if I'm mind blown but more because I think it's worth it. Initially I was hesitant to dine here because of the conflicting reviews. But I decided to try it anyway. I'm from California. Lived in San Diego for 5 years and now in the OC. I do love tacos and have had many in LA, OC, and SD. I had no issues or concerns with service. My waitress was polite and informative. Unlike other reviews I did not feel judged nor did I had to wait long. I dined Friday dinner and it was neither empty nor crowded, right in between. I ordered the fried shrimp taco and the brisket taco. The shrimp taco is their "regular size" and the brisket was the "mini size" (please see photo for reference) And they were delicious! They definitely gave me a full serving of meat and filling. No skimping. Loved the flavor, seasoning and the meat was perfectly cooked. I would come again. Edit: oh about price. I think that is relative. California is expensive. Most places outside of California feel great to me haha. So it was not a concern or problem for me.

Yelp
I went here a couple of times cause it was close to the hotel. The first time was great. My tip definitely showed as the bartender took care of me with the awesome drinks all night "Hurricane". It was great. I enjoyed the buffalo chicken but in the end the reason it was not the greatest was the food was only so good. The service was only so hitting. The second time I went it was slower but they struggled to get my food to me. It was cold. It was very much like they where overwhelmed and mad we had something to say about it. So the second time I tipped just enough. Made me really sad thinking back on it but it's really just a hippy good looking place to drink. Eat if you'd desperate. But not really recommended.

Yelp
Right across the convention center! Cheetah corn - was good but the cheetos on top were SO stale Beef Tacos - good and crispy! Wish they served some hot sauces to top off the tacos. Crispy fish tacos - the fish was like a frozen fish stick

Yelp
What a cool hip taco place inside the hotel. The tacos I had were fantastic. The service was outstanding. This is a great place for both locals and visitors. I love the vibes and would love to come back the next time I'm in Austin.
google avatar

Alice G.

Yelp
Staff gets 5 stars, just want to start my review that way! Nice staff, I was seated immediately. Tacos were ok. I had the mini poke tacos and they were good, but nothing to write home about. They had great potential, since the tuna was super fresh, but too little of the spicy mayo on top and also too little of the tuna. The three things that really bothered me and hence the 3 stars: 1. Tres leches doesn't have coffee on it. Their tres leches is a weird combination between tres leches and tiramisu. Not good. 2. You can't combine the mini tacos 3. They were "out" of a lot of things.
google avatar

LaTosha S.

Yelp
The location is nice. The atmosphere is nice. The location wasn't overly crowded. Our server was attentive and helped answer questions had about items on the menu. The portions for the food that we ordered was more than generous. I had the burger with the secret sauce...it was nice and juicy. The others I dined with also enjoyed their tacos. I also had the sweet potato cheesecake that I took to go....wow...very good! I would visit the location again when I'm in town.

Yelp
I had a reservation and made plans far in advance before traveling to Austin, planning ahead during a busy SxSW week - very bad experience. We arrived on time to find the whole restaurant was closed for a private event?!
google avatar

Katie C.

Yelp
Pretty good food and the coolest atmosphere. The only reason for the four stars is the chips were extremely salty (and I love salt). Service was great though and I'd go back again!!
google avatar

Cori B.

Yelp
Went here after a long day at SXSW. Tacos were amazing. Service was excellent. Spicy margarita was not very spicy though.
google avatar

Kerri S.

Yelp
The highlight of this location was the flavor of the food. If you are in a hurry while at a conference, pick another location. Service was slow, food was cold. We barely got refills on our drinks (we had water).
google avatar

Bo B.

Yelp
Cute spot. 3.5 stars. Food: Fish tacos - fried fish was a little too dry and over cooked and the taco wasn't that flavorful Carne asada - fairly good; could've been slightly less cooked and had more salsa or avocado on top Baja shrimp - delicious Tuna poke - good
google avatar

Rida O.

Yelp
This was my third visit! I've had the beef, pork, and avocado tacos. The beef and pork tacos are a good size, meat was tender very flavorful and best of all for me, gluten free! The avocado tacos (also another great gluten free option) are on the small side but they are my favorite tacos on the menu so far and these are the tacos that will bring me back to this place the next time I'm in the area! I sat at the bar for all three visits since I was on my own while at a conference in Austin. Service was great (friendly people and I didn't have to wait long for my order).
google avatar

Yelp
Oh so yummy! This restaurant is tucked inside of the Hilton Austin across the street from the Austin Convention Center. However do yourself a favor and try it! Seriously so good! Try these things: Carne asada tacos Salsa trio and get double of the standout, pick de gallo with cucumber. ATP greens salad Mexican coke I ate here three days in a row. Seriously, so good!
google avatar

Zuzana K.

Yelp
Fantastic chips and salsa, delicious avocado tacos. Cute ambiance and the golf simulator looks like a fun activity. However, the service was terrible. Not only it was slow but the staff was very cold and in a bad mood.
google avatar

LeeAnn S.

Yelp
The idea is great but the execution misses the mark. I know everyone else is short staffed, but the wait was ridiculous.

Victoria C.

Yelp
Such a weird restaurant... they dump so much salt in the food it is hardly edible. Feels like a black mirror experience.

Yelp
Visited 4/27/22, was prompted to visit from coupon offered at a Yelp event. We sat at the bar and ordered some food and drinks. We ordered the free with coupon small Brisket Taco and also ordered the Poke Tacos. Both items were delicious and were pretty filling. The tuna was nice and fresh and a great color. I especially enjoyed the plate presentation for the items. I'd say it was less than 10 minutes after we ordered that we received our food items, very quick. We also tried the Texas Tequila Flight. It comes with 3 different tequila samples and a glass of some lime slices. My favorite from the flight was the 512 Tequila Austin. Our bartender/server chatted with us a bit about the tequilas and gave great information for what we were drinking. There are a few different games scattered around for you to play while waiting for your food or drinks. They also have a giant Jenga and some arcade games. It can get a bit noisy there inside and outside as it is located right next to the metro railway. We'll definitely be back to try out more of the menu and do the Top Golf!

Yelp
Scientifically Perfect Austin is a big taco town and I have my favorites, and the Austin Taco Project is one of them. I am usually downtown regularly and was planning on dining at Cannon + Belle, but they were closed so came here instead for lunch. One thing to know is the prices here are a bit higher than other taco places around town, but don't let that scare you away where the food here is good. They also have a nice bar and games to play. The place was a bit busy and decided to try the Battered Fish. The menu described it is tortilla crusted cod, shredded cabbage, mango salsa, cilantro lime cream and corn tortilla. The fish tacos arrived in pairs and both had a big filet of fish. The batter on the fish was crispy and had a great taste. All the ingredients on it made it perfect. Eat this and will be full for the rest of the day. Austin Taco Project may not be the grab & go taco joint but if you want a place to sit and relax then perhaps a place for you.

Yelp
Ambiance is definitely here , but that is where it ends . Came for breakfast and it was extremely lack luster for such a easy menu. Waffles description of sugar pearls and fruit, I would compare this being blanketed with sugar and then baked it till hard with hints of bell pepper. Fruit was frozen not fresh . Pancakes same deal minus all the sugar again frozen fruit on top. I had the Chililiques Vergo, my reccomendation is just don't . Absolutely flavorless . Disappointing restaurant for the Hilton brand for sure. Service , was just that basic service with a side or forgetfulness.

Yelp
If you are going there for the service and to use their top golf projection screen, please don't. Please don't waste your time or money. No one came over to greet us when we were in the room where the projector was. We had to figure it out ourselves. When the waitress finally came in, all she said is oh you figured it out. Fast forward, the golfing virtual game wasn't working right. The waitress didn't know how to fix it and it took 3 people to come over and figure it out. I understand that it's Topgolf equipment but if I made a reservation for noon you should have checked it to make sure it was working ahead of time. We then asked the waitress for ice water because the ones she put on the table when we got here was room temperature. The mouse stopped working and at that point we were tired of having to fix the projector and mouse that I just asked to speak to a manager. The waitress came over and had a whole attitude and put her hands up and said we can go. I said no you can go, I want to speak to a real manager. Manager came and you he seemed nice and understanding but at the same time made excuses for the female waitress that waited on us. Will not be returning, will tell others not to go there. We only had an appetizer so it was nothing special.

Yelp
Great food at reasonable prices. Ask for the hot sauce to give your meal that extra bump. Staff is friendly and decor is chill. Good place for a large group luncheon.
google avatar

Victor C.

Yelp
Saw this place was busy so decided to stop the previous day so decided to stop by for a try. Colleagues got the buffet while I chose the brisket tacos. Price for buffet was $30 and didn't have a huge selection, while 2 brisket tacos came out at $16 a piece. While generously filled thought the price overall was a little steep but for location I can see why as it near a convention center and less than a mile away from the capital. Not really anything special on the inside as I expected from a hotel restaurant. Food was ok but I don't think I'd go back.
google avatar

Yelp
If I could give 3.5 stars I would. I'm in Austin usually 2-3 times per year for work and often stay at the Hilton by the convention center. ATP is in the Hilton. When they first opened I would have given them 5 but on every subsequent visit the service has gone exponentially downhill. Don't get me wrong, the food is great. Super fresh and great flavors which is why I'll continue to come back. This morning I had their breakfast burrito and it's wonderful. Their bacon is great and I had a side of that. This review is really about the service. When I walked in the hostess was leaning on the host stand and yawning. She barely said hello and ushered me to a table to get back to leaning and yawning. And there I sat for a full 15 minutes before I was acknowledged. I genuinely think my server was surprised by my presence as he was bringing out coffee and water for the guests already seated. He asked for my drink order and if I was good to go on food. I replied yes and he said well let's just get that out of the way. I placed my order and he left. The person bringing my food didn't even acknowledge me when I said thank you, looked frustrated when I asked for a refill on my coke and again offered no acknowledgment when I thanked him for that. My server came out with water and coffee again and blew right by my but I think he saw me writing this review and came back to ask if I was ok. ATP could be great. I just think they're resting on the fact they have a captured audience with the Hilton guests and convention goers. They definitely need to set better expectations for the service.

Scot S.

Yelp
Some of the best tacos we've ever had. Anthony makes some great recommendation on food and beverage. The shrimp tacos are killer. We craved them when I'm staying at the Hilton for ACL. The only problem was they closed too early. Fun scene with shuffleboard and old school arcade games. Crazy that it's in the Hilton hotel. Go there! Surprised the rating isn't higher. I still crave those tacos. Better than almost anything I've had in SoCal.
google avatar

Isabel G.

Yelp
I came by this restaurant as it was the closest one after we finished the Austins duck tour. I had not realized that it was actually inside of a hotel. The inside is very lovely and artsy. My kids had chicken tenders and fries. I had the poblano soup which was absolutely delicious. I don't have much more to add. My waitress was only so so. however, the bartenders were super nice.
google avatar

Curtis C.

Yelp
Was quite surprised with how good the food is. Got the Baja shrimp tacos as an app then had the ATP Bowl with grilled chicken as my entree. Very happy with both.

Dan V.

Yelp
Great service!! The asada tacos were barely warm, most likely reheated on cold, and served with the most amazing worst tortilla ever known to man!
google avatar

Isles G.

Yelp
This place is terrible. Ordered four tacos for two people and ate 1. And 1/2, which was too much. Shouldn't have eaten any of it. If you have frozen fish sticks at home your tacos will be better, and the carne asada tacos looked like they were leftover from last week. Do not waste your $ or time even if it is convenient to the hotel.
google avatar

MeMzprissy Chante M.

Yelp
Checked into the Hilton hotel yesterday. This is our first stop it's located in the Hilton hotel. I had the buffalo chicken tacos really really good decided to add some black beans best decision I could've made best black beans I've ever had.
google avatar

D R.

Yelp
Chopped brisket for tacos was the ruined by the kitchen pouring the grease only of the drippings on the tacos. Service was fine but for the $ vs. quality of food, there are far better options that are very close by. Would have loved to enjoyed this place since it is in the Hilton I generally stay at each time I visit the city.
google avatar

Greg B.

Yelp
As a long time Austinite I have a real problem paying for chips at a Tex/Mex place and this place wants $7(?!) for a bowl ($14 if you want salsa with that) But it's a taco restaurant in the touristy Hilton so I can't say I'm surprised. I was working in the area & pressed for time so I thought I'd give it a try. Having said that, their Confit Pig tacos were fine (great flavor & sauce) although the pork was a little tough and at $12 for 2 these are the cheapest tacos on the menu. $19 Carne Asada Burrito? You must be joking. I probably won't be back. They've got nothing on Torchy's, Tacodeli, Veracruz, or any of the multitude of great, inexpensive, and authentic taco trucks in town. The ubiquitous hipster logo says it all. Don't be a tourist!
google avatar

Courtney B.

Yelp
Happened upon this place after visiting the selfie museum on the corner across the street. What a great hidden gem inside the Hilton hotel! I only tried the Brisket tiny tacos but wow for a small bit it packed quite a punch! Really delicious food and drinks and love the decor and ambience! The menu had so many delicious sounding items and I'll definitely keep this place in mind for when I'm downtown!
google avatar

Janet S.

Yelp
Service was poor. 20 minutes at the counter before anyone acknowledged us, only to learn it was another 35 minutes at least before food would arrive. Walked away. No food is worth that level of service.

Cindy W.

Yelp
Stayed at the Hilton Austin. Had breakfast here with our breakfast vouchers from the hotel. Spencer greeted and seated us and that's the last we saw of him. Had one cup of coffee, no water when asked initially. Passed by our table numerous times without acknowledgement. Had to wave him down to get water. He constantly provided attention to other tables, refilled waters, asking if they needed anything. We still didn't get any acknowledgement. Definitely a noticeable descriminating experience. It was quite unnerving.

Yelp
Stopped by before a comedy show because our original plans to go to Koriente were foiled by their still being quarantine focused and having little seating. This place was on my list and walking distance so decided to try it out. First off, it's a weird setup. They have 2 entrances, one near the bar, and another from the "main" section of the building, which connects to the hotel and another bar. We thought we'd be able to just order some tacos from the bar.. turns out not. We had to be seated...by the maitre'd who was located in the center of the room facing the other door. Odd. We were sat and ordered a tasting flight of Reposado and other tequilas and some tacos. The waitress said mine was Anejo and left me confused. Many minutes later she finally came back I asked and she had to double-check what it was. Then she said it was Reposado and thought I couldn't really have told the difference I'm not sure I believed her. I got carne asada tacos (2) for like $16. They were very plain, not much flavor, bland, and nothing more than some steak, bits of small avocado and slaw. Really not a good impression; even the other items (side of beans, and 3 small tacos were not any better), wouldn't go back.
google avatar

Lisa D.

Yelp
SXSW beware. I came yesterday for lunch. Carne asada tacos were great and the salsa was also great. The server was a middle aged white guy who was beyond nice. So my punishment for coming back today is mediocre food, visibly smaller portions, and rude service from a young woman with braids uptwisted. I asked for a sample of queso. They aren't even close to capacity. Walk up seating. The response was "No.". Not, I'm sorry we aren't allowed to sample. Just NO. I kept looking at her with a blank stare and she said "I'm serious. I would have to charge you to get anything from the kitchen!" Since I never asked for a FREE sample, I just looked at her and placed my order. Chips and salsa. Overpriced at $14. And confit pig tacos $12. Here's the thing. I came yesterday and got my salsa in white bowls served on the white plate. Today someone decided since I was by myself I would get a half portion. This is so fcuking ghetto. You're getting the same $14 it doesn't matter how many people are at the table. At this point I'm pretty done. However the icing on the cake. I've been sitting here for 45 minutes. I finished my food. And this waitress hasn't once stopped to see if I need anything. AGAIN. The restaurant is at 50% capacity as to what it was yesterday when I got better service and better food. I won't be back.

Yelp
I've tried this place multiple times: most times I'd get the Confit Pig taco which is really good but lately I've tried other items from the menu and have been extremely disappointed!!! I tried the burger which had a smoky flavor that I liked but the patty was overcooked and burnt, then I tried the fish tacos which were really dry and lacked flavor. Throw in a hefty price tag and this place is actually not good!

Claire P.

Yelp
Ordered the barbecue mini tacos to-go. The "white barbecue sauce" was just some type of white cream, the taco was missing the barbecue sauce aspect. The tacos felt thrown together, and were all over the place when I opened the box - after going up an elevator! The dessert option of a sweet potato and goat cheese cheesecake was the best option, but still didn't end up getting it. Some sort of ice cream or more classic dessert dish would be nice. I'd take the term "Project" in the restaurant name pretty factually, as there's some more growth to happen menu-wise.

Angela H.

Yelp
The Fish and Shrimp Taco's and chips and queso are delicious!!!! The Customer Service sucks, very slow and not appreciated of the Customers who spend their money at there establishment. The servers will ignore you and you can wait up to 30 minutes or more before someone will wait on you,and the place was not full. Finally when the server came to my table, she asked "What do you want?" I responded, " Well I'm hungry and I would like to order some food? Apparently they lack training as to speak with their Customers. It's seems like there's only 2 servers and people who bus the tables. My tip reflected the service I received. Ive eaten here 3 times and each time I received the same type of service. The Ambiance is clean and plenty of seating!!!
google avatar

Kasti K.

Yelp
I would give this 3.5 stars but can't so I'll round up The traditional casamigos margarita was great, but the 3 drinks we got off the cocktail menu were not that good - could very well just be preference! The food was decent and they have good gluten free options. I got the steak tacos and they were huge, and about what you'd expect. My husband said the burrito was really good, and my friend said the shrimp tacos were decent!
google avatar

Paul A.

Yelp
I am allergic to wheat and they brought me chips made from flour tortillas. I asked if they were wheat flour or corn, because they looked like fried flour tortillas. They assured me they were corn. They weren't, and sure enough I had a reaction within minutes and felt rotten the rest of the afternoon.

Yelp
Twist on tacos! I love their Poke Taco! Look at all of that tuna! Comes with 3 "tacos" in a wonton. Yum!
