The food was very good. We had Gator Tail for an appetizer. Their loaf of bread they bring you is amazing! It's pretty big, soft and warm, yummy! The steaks are a little too heavily seasoned for us but cooked to perfection. Their baked potatoes are good as well but too heavily salted. We should've asked about their salt and seasoning, our bad The service was great, we had a very nice young lady. We had to wait a little while to be seated, they were very busy. We waited about 30-40 minutes even though we were told 15. It was probably due to being the day before Father's Day. We also had to wait to get silverware. The atmosphere was nice, not too loud. The decor is pretty cool. I would recommend this restaurant if your in the area!

Stopped by for a late dinner after travelling all day. The staff were super friendly and made our group feel welcomed. The food was excellent. Ordered the prime rib and shrimp combination. Reasonably priced and was super delicious!! You get complimentary bread and butter for your table as well.

We stopped here roadtripping because the reviews were decent and we wanted fresh not fast food. Atmosphere was typical Southern steakhouse style and decor with a fist tank and loads of stuffed game. Great entertainment for kids! The tables are Formica so this is a middle of the road establishment so you can dress up or do T-shirt and jeans and be fine. Staff were super nice and accommodating. Food was pretty good, not great. My steak came out cooked perfect, my husband’s was first undercooked and then slightly overcooked. Both were WAY over seasoned. You almost couldn’t taste the meat from the seasoning. And both were seasoned the same. It was overpowering the natural flavor of the steak. The vegetables were good. The sweet potato fries were interesting. The shrimp was also good. The space was surprisingly clean. I’m one of those people that looks for dust and cobwebs on the ceiling and on things that are higher up. I didn’t really see any of that here. The bathroom could definitely use some TLC, slippery floors (from years of poor cleaning products?), ceiling open over toilet paper. It didn’t fit in with the rest of the place. I think there is a bar, I didn’t explore all the way to the back but I didn’t see many of the people I saw walk in before us and it looked like the restaurant continued on through a hallway.

Austin’s was fantastic and we will definitely be stopping in again when we are in the area. We had the blackened shrimp appetizer (I can’t remember what it is called) and it was good. We are from Florida, so we are picky about seafood. The filet and the whole grouper were fantastic and the strawberry martini was very good. Or waitress, Marla was the best-very attentive and extremely personable. They are expanding and we can’t wait to visit the new place.

Austin's Cattle Company: A Consistent Family Favorite in Valdosta For families seeking a truly satisfying dining experience in Valdosta, GA, Austin's Cattle Company consistently delivers. Our family gathers here around four times a year, and each visit reaffirms its reputation for wonderful food and excellent service. The meal always begins on a high note with their warm, freshly baked bread and creamy whipped butter. A must-try appetizer is their fried vegetable basket, featuring garden-fresh broccoli, zucchini, and yellow squash, perfectly paired with their exceptional homemade ranch dressing. It's a flavorful start that never disappoints. Whether you're in the mood for a perfectly cooked steak or fresh seafood, you'll find top-notch options. My husband particularly enjoys the classic comfort of their country fried steak. Beyond the delicious cuisine, the restaurant boasts a cool ambiance, making for a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The dedication to excellent service truly stands out, with attentive staff ensuring a pleasant experience every time. Austin's Cattle Company is more than just a restaurant; it's a reliable spot for quality meals and memorable family gatherings.

Google
Great local restaurant! We started with the jalapeno poppers which were very good! I had the ribeye and my wife went with the NY strip. Both were cooked perfectly. The grilled veggies were the perfect compliment to the steaks. Kirsten was wonderful. We highly recommend that you give them a try! You won't be disappointed.

I recently visited the Austin Cattle Company at 2101 W Hill Ave, in Valdosta, GA. This is a very popular restaurant that has been at this location for some time There are many regulars that go there and the staff knows them all. Caitlin was my first server for lunch one day and she convinced me to also stop by for their great happy hour beer specials. The food is excellent and I have eaten there times since that first time.

Google
Waylon was an absolutely incredible server!!!! The lodge like atmosphere and decor is gorgeous and home feeling!!!! The filet mignon and the Cajun shrimp were both incredible, I will say though next time the husband and I will both order the filet mignon!!!!!! I apologize all food pics were taken after we dug in because we were starving lol.

Yelp
Stopped to eat while traveling through. Greeted by hostesses and seated promptly. Restaurant is clean and casual. Choice between sitting in bar or restaurant. Ordered the lunch steak and the beef tips, both come with two sides and bread. The meat was cooked as ordered and both meals were delicious. Will definitely return when traveling through again! It looks like they are building a new, larger restaurant behind the current location. Looks to be a local favorite, and I can see why.

Yelp
On my goodness! From the front door to our table, nothing but sweetness & nice employees!! Caytelee was our amazing server!! She had recommendations as soon as we sat!! He had the cold beer and I had the Luke's Punch, so good!! He had the New York strip with BP & he said it was delicious! I had the amazing perfectly cooked ribeye & garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was just so good!!

Yelp
Austin's has been a staple in Valdosta as long as I can remember back to the 80s or early 90s. I came here this week with my daughter and grandkids as I live in Athens and don't get a chance to get out much and most of the time I'm down in Valdosta we eat at home, but decided we wanted to go out and we chose Austin's because we wanted steak!! Arrived and got a table quite quickly , and landed in the middle I guess, this place is huge, and we got a six top table with three adults and three small children. Our server Marla ( I think I can't find my receipt.), got our drink orders and some fries for the kids to be entertained quite quickly while we looked at the menus to decide what to get for everybody. She was a great server and took great care of us so thank you for the great service upfront!!! I was actually shocked at the pricing of the steaks and prime rib as they were well below market value in Northern Georgia. So I opted for the 10 ounce fillet., a Caesar salad salad and some vegetables, while my son-in-law got the 12 ounce Delmonico with side order of grilled shrimp. My fillet was bacon wrapped, and when I made the first cut, I drooled.! it was perfect! Then I tasted it. It was more than perfect.!! Literally the best steak I've had in years and I am a Chef! The Delmonico steak and shrimp were juicy , had a totally different flavor from the fillet and was delicious!! My daughter also has a 12 ounce Ribeye( the Delmonico , which is named after the restaurant and the way it is cooked, but it's a ribeye). We had enough steak to split for the kids., but got them a couple of order of fries and we did start with the buffalo chips, which are a must have! These are homemade chips with blue cheese crumbles and buffalo sauce and are the bomb!! My kids and I have loved blue cheese potato chips since visiting our most favorite old Diner in Buckhead, Atlanta and make them at home all the time! The 10 ounce fillet was only $34 which I thought it was a great value in 2025 !! I don't want them to raise prices but the same steak up here near Athens, Georgia would be 55 maybe $60. Even the 16 ounce primary was under $40 and is the best prime rib you'll get in the southeast anywhere.!! Austin's is a staple, unfortunately for me it's off the beaten path when I get into town so I don't go out there much but I'll be back again within six months now that my memory is jogged on how good it is. Restaurant is expanding where they are and if you are looking for a steak , or burger and sandwiches and other things they offer, you will not be disappointed. Great service , great food , great memories . Highly recommend.!!

Yelp
Stopped on our way back to Florida. Recommended by a local hotel. I ordered the chicken sandwich, which was delivered without a bun, tomato and the French fries were barely warm and definitely not crisp. I told the girl who delivered my meal and she said that she would get the waitress. I had to wait for quite a while for the waitress to return, so everything was cold. The waitress brought a bun with tomato on a plate, and by then everything was cold, so I asked for it to be remade. They just took it in the back and gave me new fries, but I was too frustrated to make a big deal about it. My husband's prime rib was cooked med-rare as ordered but he had to cut the crust off because it was too salty. Otherwise the meat and cocoanut shrimp tasted good. After a long day of driving, I doubt we will come here again on our next trip through Valdosta.

Yelp
Husband and I have been eating at Austins monthly for 24 years and is our go to restaurant; however, I realize they are getting ready to move to their new building and possibly other changes...but our visit on July 30, 2025 may be our last. We always sit in the bar area and normally have same pool of servers who do great job. This night we saw no one familiar and had never had this waitress before. She had a "full head of hair" lets say.... and observed her carrying each tray of food out of kitchen on her shoulder "with her hair laying in someone's salad!!! Needless to say...we couldn't stomach our plates after witnessing this and knowing may have hair in ours. She even had salad dressing in her hair when she stopped by our table and husband pointed it out, she didn't seem to care. Please do better Austins, i won't be recommending for now.

Yelp
Nice country atmosphere. Great service and our meal came out real quick. My wife had a sandwich with fries and there was so much meat on it she took some off. My salad was fresh and tasty. My potato and steak were cooked to perfection and had great flavors. I would definitely recommend Austin's.

Yelp
If you are heading south on I-75 towards Valdosta definitely stop here. Amazing steakhouse with great prime rib. Nothing fancy just really good food.

Yelp
It's fine for Albany but definitely not the best steakhouse ever. It's a low level Texas Roadhouse. Service was great but food was mediocre I'm

Yelp
Service was great. Kid's meal and salads came out in good time. Our prime ribs took a very long time to come out, especially since everyone nearby who ordered after us got their meals first. My husband's med-rare was perfect he said, my med-well was so over cooked and dried out. Our son got ice cream with his meal and though it came out pretty fast it was mostly melted. We were visiting the area for a few days. If we come back to Valdosta, this probably won't be on our list.

Yelp
This review is based on two visits to this steakhouse. We came here last year on recommendations of a local hotel. My wife's ribeye was to die for. So we made a special trip here while on our way to Disney. This trip was a different experience. First of all, the staff were very nice and attentive. The restaurant was kept clean. For a Tuesday night, the main dining room was full. So the issues came with the steaks and dessert. My steak lacked any seasoning and was a bit tough. My wife's was seasoned well but was tougher than mine. Were they bad steaks? No, but not worth $36. The baked potato and salads were good, with my wife saying it was one of the best blue cheese salad dressing she has had. The fried cheesecake tasted good but the pastry was tough and needed to be cut with a knife. So in combination with the first and second visits, I'm going to give this place three stars. This can't be same level of steaks they normally serve as they were packed on a Tuesday night.

Yelp
My husband and I just stopped in for lunch. We aren't familiar with the area since we are from Delaware and are taking a three week road trip. Our server, Sasha, was awesome! Very accommodating! Answered all our questions. The food was excellent and affordable. The people were friendly as well! Next time we head through the area, we will definitely stop by!

Denise B.

Yelp
Was traveling to Florida from Georgia to visit family and stopped at Austin's after calling for a take-out meal. Austin's staff were friendly, the service was on time, as stated, and the food was fresh and warm. Thanks for feeding a traveler!

Yelp
We came by for a birthday dinner. We were a bit surprised to find it attached to a hotel. We walked in and were seated right away. It is decorated with train memorabilia and animal mounts. It was busy with a large party in our room and most of the tables filled in the other. I had A Strawberry Martini to start. It was good. We ordered the 16 oz Ribeye and ground steak dinners. Our salads came out first and we both enjoyed them with honey mustard and balsamic vinaigrette dressings. The Ribeye was excellent and cooked just the way he liked it, veggies were crunchy and also good. The ground steak and onions were good but a bit greasy. The baked potato was also good. The meal and service overall were good. We would go back for steaks again when in the area.

Yelp
Delicious food, fun atmosphere, and friendly service! The bread that comes with the meal is so good! The prime rib with creamy horseradish sauce was tasty but I especially loved the grilled shrimp with remoulade sauce. The seasoning rub on my husband's steak was unique and tasty but he preferred my prime rib. Kids loved the popcorn shrimp and steak plus ice cream! And my margarita was strong and cheap! Great combo! Can't wait to come back!!

Yelp
Wanted a cheeseburger, a good one for a while. Was in Valdosta and Austin's popped up. The place was as expected, top notch. The wait staff was good. The bread was good. The burger was large, a definite plus. LOTS of lettuce in one leaf, slide of mater and one thick cut ring from an onion. A bit more onion is appreciated. The burger was bland. Disappointing. The menu says the burgers are made from daily steak trimmings. I believe it. Just the trimmings, the part cut away because it doesn't do well as a steak. That is what burgers are often made from, but ya gotta add some seasonings to that kinda ground meat. The bun was large, fair to the taste. A toasting could have improved it a lot. Still want a good cheeseburger. Won't be back .

Yelp
The five star reviews were right. This place has excellent steaks and service. It's also a very nice place inside. We stopped here for dinner after getting gas for our drive home to FL. Javian was our wait staff and he was exceptional. He took our drink orders, and when he returned with them, we ordered a T-bone for Husband and a Delmonico for me with baked potatoes and side salads. Javian brought a loaf of bread that looked and tasted yummy with or without butter. Then came the salads. The Ranch dressing was the best we've had. They make it themselves, and we purchased a pint for $9.99. The steaks came next, and after one bite, we both said, WOW! They were cooked they way we wanted, too. The potatoes were good as well. Javian asked if we wanted dessert, but we were full. We'll have to come back again and not eat as much so we can try the desserts. We will be back!

Yelp
My ribeye steak (ordered medium rare) was RAW, and all but impossible to cut. Why not send it back? Because I waited long enough to get it in the first place. Even if it was cooked as requested, there was a coating of some kind of seasoning on it that was the saltiest thing I'd ever tasted. It was INEDIBLE. The baked potato was good, which for a steak restaurant is not high praise. The salad was just a salad...no thought put into it at all. The iced tea that I got was free, and that's something, I guess. The young lady waitperson was probably pleasant, but how would I know that? She never spoke above a whisper! Tired of playing the game of "What? I'm sorry...what did you say", I just took over both parts of the conversation, no matter what she might have been saying..."I'd like the Rio Grande Ribeye, medium-rare, a baked potato with butter and sour cream, and a salad with bleu cheese dressing, and that'll complete my order". My bill came to $40.28, or something close. I gave Silent Sally three twenties, which she took, and to her credit returned quickly. She put one of my twenties back on the table. Looking at her with confusion as I did, she said (I think) "We kicked in the twenty-eight cents". Um...that left me with not enough to leave a tip! She asked (rumor has it) "Did you need the change"? I said "More to the point, YOU need the change"! She understood, got me the change, and I contributed to her enunciation lessons. To sum up, Sally will be a fine employee someday, but the steak should have stayed 'on the hoof'...which it looked like, anyway.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my MLIS and I am soooo glad I did. It was my first visit to Valdosta and I didn't want a big chain restaurant. I ordered the (36.99) "TRAIL BOSS" PORTERHOUSE 24OZ (medium well) and it was the best steak I ever had. I always use steak sauce and I didn't reach for it once! The bread was so fresh and fluffy and their sweet-tea was phenomenal. I am already dreaming about leftovers tomorrow because that's how big the steak was. The waitress was knowledgeable and friendly.

Yelp
Sat at the bar and had dinner. The bartender was friendly and accommodating to all our requests. The menu is extensive. My lemon drop martini was made just right.
google avatar

Adam R.

Yelp
Wasn't sure what to expect. The place had good reviews but that's not always worked out for me in the past. Pretty quiet on the side me and my Buddy sat. Very attentive staff that were also knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the Buffalo Chips and a Delmonico Steak (MR) and my buddy ordered the Gator app and Catfish as the main. They definitely don't skimp on portions. Everything was cooked extremely well. I wish the steak would have been thicker but it was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The pic looks a bit messy.... Presentation was not their strong suit. Also, get the Habanero Jelly.... Absolutely incredible!

Keith R.

Yelp
I had to travel to south Georgia to work Hurricane Helene. This was a great place with great prices and good food ! The bartenders are Awesome!!!!

C H.

Yelp
It's what's behind the front door that counts. Welcoming host desk, cloth napkins, comfortable ranch house interior. Our 1/2 lb steak burgers medium-rare perfection on toasted buttered bun offered with a cheese selection - we chose a smoked Gouda and a blue cheese. Sides from fries to healthy steamed broccoli. Will stay on our list of places to visit again.
google avatar

Yelp
We have been past this place many times. Decided to stop today. So glad we did! We had excellent meals, the prices weren't bad. Our server Allie was great!

Yelp
Passing through Valdosta for the night. Great dinner. Servers were very attentive. Lived the old steakhouse charm!
google avatar

Eric M.

Yelp
Awesome food and service. Best season steaks in the land. Bake potato and salad as simple as it, here at Austin's seems to have that extra freshness about it in taste and texture. Service is always fast and professional. They just don't miss!

Michelle S.

Yelp
I had the filet mignon and it was a good tender cut of meat but it really didn't have much flavor to be honest. The garlic mashed potatoes were ok, the bread was ok, the salad was good. To be honest I like Longhorn better and the price is about the same. I like to support local businesses though. It was also extremely loud in there. Of course there was quite a bit of a wait for a table and it was between lunch and dinner time. Service was good, I think she was relatively new she had to go ask questions a couple of times. The food did come out in a timely manner for as busy as it was. I do have to say that my dad did really enjoy his catfish dinner.

Yelp
For a motel restaurant on the side of side of I-75 south of no-where, this place is a gem! I've been here five or six times when I visit family in the area and I've never been disappointed. The prime rib is wonderful and melts in your mouth. The filet if fantastic and I can recommend the burgers and the fried shrimp (lightly dusted like they do on the gulf). Service is spot one!

Food C.

Yelp
The New York strip was thick and juicy. The Philly cheese steak sub was so good with the right amount of peppers and's onions with a nice soft sub roll and juicy meat. Great sweat potato fries and garlic mashed potatoes. The service was a little slow but not bad. They may have been a server short. You have to ask for the complimentary bread or you won't get it. It was very good when I did ask for it. I would definitely come back here for steak! The restaurant is a good size but not overly noisy

Lisa B.

Yelp
We're back here! Absolutely enjoy the food and drinks in this well established steak house. My prior review was in 2016, but we have returned a couple more times, like 5 days ago. And so we return 5 days later. Our usual run between South Florida and Blairsville is Valdosta, always choosing to eat at Austin's. The filet mignon is still every bit excellent, nice outside crust with a warm reddish center if you order medium. Cut with a fork. Tastes so delish that it needs nothing but a good bite The Cosmos were still perfectly created and I don't even ask for top shelf vodka! I'm still staying away from the wine since I'm a pseudo snob, lol. Beer choices are very good for hubby like good tap choices. Servers are so sweet and helpful. If food is your main denominator then eat here for 5plus food and drink Here's a pic of my medium petit filet

Yelp
The people of Valdosta recommended I go to Austin's Cattle. A colleague travel with me from the Philippines went with me. We had the Prime Rib 16 oz meal which was a lot of food! Excellent Preparation! The restaurant is large, we ate in the bar area which was also recommended. I have another upcoming trip to Valdosta, I plan to return to Austin's Cattle again.

Yelp
Ooft I really wanted to like this place! We made a special stop on our road trip through Georgia to Florida and it had super great reviews but it was not great. The service was really good, our server was kind, patient, and very hospitable! Since this restaurant is connected to the Inn next door it is deceptively large with a dining and a sports bar section. My husband wanted to watch the basketball playoff game so we sat in the bar... such a mistake. The men in there were so loud and belligerent it was hard to hold a conversation because they were screaming at each other (it was just our two parties in the area). The bartender encouraged it all and it was a bit flabbergasting. My husband ordered the NY strip and was so juicy, cooked to perfection, and seared beautifully. I unfortunately had a bacon wrapped filet mignon that had sad and limp bacon, raw (I asked for medium), and very flavorless. It tasted like it was baked in oil and very unsettling. I ate a few bites before conceding that I would just grab some BK in the next town over.

Jane F.

Yelp
Was driving through Georgia and stopped for dinner with the family. Had a nice warm loaf of bread served for the table, and our steaks were cooked to our liking. Over all the food was great and the hospitality of the servers were what left a great impression on us. My children's favorite part of dinner was when they went to go see the big gator hanging in the bar.

Yelp
8/28/24--This eatery has ample parking and a well-appointed interior, giving it a pleasant atmosphere for enjoying a good meal. My server was on the ball and made sure if I needed anything. I had the prime-cut beef kabob with onions, green pepper, and mushrooms, which was delicious. Give it a try, and you'll be delighted.

Liza L.

Yelp
We loved it! Food, drinks, service...all of it was great! Ambiance was fun and energetic... can't wait to stop again for dinner there.

Yelp
First time at this place, loved the service, food was great, had the blossom onion, and a very tasty Prime Rib steak Place is much bigger than it appears, has like 3-4 different rooms with a very nice bar area hidden all the way in the back Definitely recommend

Daezha B.

Yelp
4.5 stars! This place kinda gives an antique country vibe, but homey nonetheless. The food is pretty good! I had no major complaints with my meal. As an appetizer, I had the cheese sticks. They sprinkle cheese on top and that was the additional chef's kiss I never knew I needed in my life. The Caesar salad was also good, the greens were very fresh. I came around lunch time and ordered the "gulf coast siesta" which contained tilapia, grilled shrimp, and a side of choice. I'm not a huge fan of tilapia, but it was ok. Nothing special. The shrimp were really good, and the accompanying sauce was like a spicy tarter sauce. I enjoyed it also.

Ryan F.

Yelp
Great prime rib and good happy hour prices. Went to the bar and got the same bartender both visits which she was great.
google avatar

Patton B.

Yelp
First time visiting. Place was good. Started off with gator bites and had my grandkids try them with the Thai sweet sauce. They loved them! Wife and I I order the filet and it was not to order, medium, and our server tried again to get it right but missed the mark. This was a butterfly cut and was more on the medium well, well done, so there were points off for that. Baked potato was fair but the mixed veggies were great. Kids had cheese burger and popcorn shrimp. They both said it was good. Wife ordered a drink and said it was okay. All in all, the food was good. Service was great and our server tried to get our steak correct and was going to go a third time, but we had to hit the road!

Yelp
We came to dine at this popular restaurant and were very happy with the experience, from the service to the food everything was excellent! The complimentary warm bread with whipped butter that came before our meal was a fantastic appetizer especially when we were both very hungry when we walked in. The ribeye steak was good but the best was the prime rib which was so tender and moist that melted in my mouth. We love the decor which felt very warm and homey so overall it was an outstanding dining experience.

Yelp
Found this place at our layover in Valdosta on our way to Ellijay, Ga. Good reviews. Sat pretty quick with a bit of a wait I am sure because of distancing but no big deal. Great western decor as well as Stooges! Menu is large with lots of great steak options as well as very reasonably priced wine, beer and cocktails. We started with French onion soup. Really tasty. I would have liked more cheese but the flavors were there. Next we had the Wilmington island shrimp. Cooked perfect. Very tasty. Your typical coconut shrimp. For a main we landed on the Porterhouse. Great seasons on the steak. The cook was ok but seemed a little over medium rare. The house salad was really good and a nice portion size. 2nd side was rice pilaf. Very tasty. This was my favorite part of the meal. Deb got a side of onion rings. Really good too! I assume they were vidalia's as they were nice and sweet. Lightly breaded and the dipping sauce was delicious. We got turtle pie to go and enjoyed that in our room. A solid dinner spot with great service and reasonable prices

Yelp
I come to Valdosta about once a month from January to June. I always make it a point to eat at Austin's. The steaks I get are always cooked to order. (As I in order medium rare, it comes medium rare.) the staff is always friendly. It is a busy place. A great family restaurant. I will be back in Valdosta in May and you can bet I'll be eating at Austin's. Olivia was our waitress and was very attentive. Kept my drink filled and very friendly

Lourdes R.

Yelp
Excellent food. A little confusion at the beginning as to whom would be our server but then they agreed and service was good. The family restaurant style was very animated with lots of family gatherings celebrating birthdays. Keep up the good work Austin's!!

Yelp
Had lunch here recently and was pleasantly surprised! Excellent, fast service and outstanding food. The chopped steak was cooked perfectly - juicy and flavorful. Crisp, tasty onion rings were great. Grilled chicken breast with the vegetable medley was VERY good! Definitely a place I'll visit again.

Yelp
Traveling from TN to FL and we always break-up the drive by staying in Valdosta overnight. Was in the mood for a good steak and there were a few choices to make. The woman at check-in for our hotel recommended Austin's Cattle Co. so we decided to try it. Our server was so nice & attentive. She brought us a small loaf of warm bread when she first arrived at our table. We ordered beers & she brought them right out. I ordered the 16 oz. Rio Grande ribeye, medium rare, with onion rings and loaded baked potato. My husband ordered the T-Bone, medium rare, with salad & onion rings. My ribeye was cooked perfectly and just what I was hoping for: juicy, flavorful & a nice thick cut. My eyes were bigger than my stomach, so my husband got about 1/3 of my steak! Onion rings were battered in a tasty coating and baked potato as expected. My husband was a little disappointed in his T-bone; thinner than my ribeye & covered in a spice blend that he wasn't expecting. He was wishing he had ordered my steak! He said it was good, but mine was better. Salad was good (nice & fresh) with Thousand Island and he loved the onion rings too. The place has a nice rustic decor...kind of like a ranch house. Will definitely be back next time we pass through. I thanked the woman at our hotel for the wonderful recommendation!

For such a big place I was surprised how quiet it seemed while also looking full! The service & food was great there were no leftovers!

Yelp
Today's trip took me to Valdosta, GA with my friend from Maine. We had a late lunch at Austin's. The atmosphere was wonderful, and clean. Our server, Emma, was very nice and very attentive. The food was served hot and was very delicious. We all ordered something different and there were no complaints among us! When we are next in that area, we will be sure to drop in again!

Yelp
On our way through Georgia we stopped here for dinner. Busy place, but we immediately found seats at the bar. Bartender was awesome, great personality and gave us a lot of information about the items on the menu. The gentleman sitting next to us told us he stops here about once a month as he travels this way for work. He suggested the prime rib. We ended up getting the prime rib, which was excellent. Great bourbon old fashioned, the wife had red wine which she said was very good!!

Yelp
Really enjoyed this place. It has a unique atmosphere between local hangout and nice steak restaurant. Was only in town for a brief visit by myself and this was the most mentioned and conveniently located steak house near me. Since I was by myself I found my way to the bar. Luckily there was one spot available because it was happy hour. The local IPA on tap was delicious - love when there's a local option. The bartenders were busy so I didn't chat with them as much as I normally would, but given how crowded the bar was that's ok. The patrons were an eclectic bunch so it made for good people watching. I started with the Gator Tail on recommendation from the bartender - it was between that and the Ahi Tuna, and I can't get Gator often near me. It was tender and not chewy like some places, so that was a great surprise, and the habanero jelly that came with it paired well. For my meal I ordered the Rio Grande Ribeye. I'm VERY hesitant to order steaks at restaurants because I make a good one at home and it's rare they are cooked right. THIS is why I gave Austin's 5 stars. I ordered it medium rare Pittsburgh style - it's sort of my cheat to make sure the outside is cooked how I like but not overdone inside. They NAILED it. The seasoning was unique, it had the normal salt/pepper flavor but also something akin to curry, which may sound strange but it made for a great experience, especially because I took half the steak before I landed on curry as the flavor profile I was tasting. I could be wrong - I saw others on here say it tasted like Mexican seasoning, but not for me. I got a Caesar salad to start - it was a little wetter than I like but I'd rather too wet than too dry. My sides were the mixed veggies, which were good but I was determined to finish that steak so after Gator, Caesar, and steak I didn't eat a ton of the veggies. The steak was so good I only lament not having a better wine selection to pair it with. I had a glass of Meiomi Pinot Noir but paired with the seasoning of the steak it almost tasted like fruit juice - really sweet against the salt/pepper/curry(?) of the steak. If I could do it again I'd probably just get another cold beer. Not sure if I'll ever be back in Valdosta long enough to go again, but will definitely recommend to others if know they are going, and since this is off the highway maybe I'll swing by next time I'm headed down to Jacksonville or St. Augustine!
