Philly Restaurant Closings in June 2025 | Eater Philly

"A Venezuelan food operation run by co-owners and chefs Levi Hernandez and Maria Hernandez is ending its pop-up at a local whiskey distillery on Saturday, June 28. The team will continue operating a ghost-kitchen takeout service, catering, and various farmers-market stands. Before the pop-up series, the venture served food out of the Ardmore Train Station beginning in 2020, though that station service closed in fall 2024." - Nadia Chaudhury

I received the worst cachapas ever. I can’t understand how they could send something so burnt, especially when each one costs $15! I’m really disappointed. The cachapas were inedible, and I had to throw them in the trash.

My boyfriend orders this for us on grubhub pretty regularly, and it’s always sooo delicious, fresh, and great service. The mini empanadas are incredible, crispy and full of different flavors and fresh ingredients. The Pabellon bowl, the Arepas, and the Cachapas are all incredible.

I ordered this food with my friend from Venezuela and we were extremely disappointed. The sweet plantains tasted absolutely horrible. The Gouda cheese in Arepas was horrible. Taquenos were too expensive for the amount we received. My friend is usually a very respectful person but after the meal she felt very disrespected.

Autana became one of my absolute go-to spots for incredible Venezuelan food in Philadelphia when they first opened in Ardmore. As a repeat customer, I can confidently say their taqueños are some of the best I’ve ever had—crispy, cheesy perfection! I also love the pabellón criollo and their delicious, generously filled arepas. Every dish is rich with flavor and made with such obvious care. Even more than the food, I love supporting this locally owned, family-run business. The family behind Autana is kind, hardworking, and genuinely passionate about sharing their culture through food. It’s always a joy to support them. While they no longer have a physical location in Ardmore, I still get my fix at their pop-ups—especially when they partner with places like Manatawny Still Works (one of my favorite local spots in Ardmore). You can also order online, which makes it easy to keep enjoying their amazing meals. Truly one of those places where the food nourishes you—and so does the community behind it.

OMG this place is AMAZING. We ordered on uber eats. We had the shredded beef bowl & the shredded pork one. SO SO GOOD! We also had the chicken empanadas & the mandocas. THE MANDOCAS, wow. Soooo good paired with the bowls & alone. We’ve never had anything like them. Highly recommend!!!

Autana is one of our favorite restaurants in the Philly suburbs. Everything is delicious - we particularly like the arepas, patacones, and the tequenos which you can’t find anywhere else in the area. The owner Maria and her family make you feel super welcome- like you are dining in someone else home. They also host arepa making classes which are really fun (and delicious)!

So glad we get to still experience Autana!! Their food is amazing! Recently went to the Arepa workshop and dinner - yum. What a great experience. Maria and the entire family are so passionate about sharing their culture and it shows!

There’s love… and then there’s Autana. 💛 From the moment you walk in, you feel it. Autana isn’t just food, it’s corazón, cultura, y familia. Let’s start with my favorite: the albóndigas. 🥹 Those meatballs? Out. Of. This. World. Juicy, flavorful, y con ese toque casero que solo una cocina venezolana puede lograr. I would fly across states just for those. Right now they’re collaborating with Manatawny in Ardmore and the drinks? Una delicia. The perfect pair for those rich, bold flavors… de verdad, Venezuelan food and cocktails never tasted so good. But the real secret sauce is the team: Levi y María run things with so much passion, it shows in every plate. And Dani is the kindest, sweetest server—she makes every visit feel like you’re part of the Autana family. As a Venezuelan girly, let me tell you: nada le gana a Autana. Gracias por darnos un pedacito de casa con cada bocado. 🇻🇪✨
