Amazing Experience with Torin and Sarah! Torin at the front desk and Sarah, the supervisor, were absolutely phenomenal. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, offering exceptional service and warm hospitality. If you're looking for a place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, this is it. Relax, recharge, and disconnect from your phone while enjoying life’s simple pleasures. Highly recommended!

We had fun. You are camping, so it’s dusty and there are mice running around at night. But the airstreams are pretty comfortable, the air conditioning works well, the bathrooms are surprisingly roomy, and the bed is comfortable. The airstreams also have a microwave, refrigerator, and plates and utensils. We bought steak and chicken dinner packages - you cook the meat on the grill and warm the sides. Surprisingly good food. And the location is convenient to both the town and Joshua Tree national park. Again, it’s camping, so don’t expect a luxury experience. But it’s comfortable and fun.

In short: Pack your own food! Or eat in town. 🔺The “kitchen” you advertised is misleading. The quality of the food did not justify the high prices. Additionally, having your front desk staff also serve as kitchen staff is concerning and reflects poorly on the operation. While the FOH staff was highly attentive to our meal order, this approach clearly pulls them away from other essential duties, such as checking in guests, preparing drinks, or being available “on the floor.” It was evident that they were spread thin, especially during a busy holiday season. Considering the amount guests pay per night, the dining experience should reflect a higher standard, including meals that feel luxurious and thoughtfully prepared. While I understand that dining options in the area may be limited, the food offerings from the “kitchen” at AutoCamp fell far short of expectations, leaving me disappointed. 🌟But there are a lot of other things AutoCamp gets right. I love the bicycles you can use, the swimming pool, the fire pit, and free hot chocolate. The Airstream suite was clean and so functional! I really appreciate that they provided a cast iron to cook in. The location is close to the JT park so there are many wonderful things going for it outside of my feedback for the food quality.

We have stayed at three AutoCamp locations thus far. All stays have been good, although I would argue that this location wins out as long as you like desert vibes. That means you are okay with the dust, the desert mice (they are cute actually like a pet, not scary like a sewer rat lol!) and the drastic temperature changes. We are okay with all of these so game on! Kimberly at the front office was kind and at one point returned our lost phone (thank goodness). Check-in was smooth, but I wish they had additional staff to drive our belongings to our unit. As far as layout it’s gorgeous to drive up to this location they really knocked it out of the park with the clubhouse design and the 7-foot door, wow! The property is entirely flat and doesn’t have the outdoor tents. This made bike rides with the kids easy and just down the block there is a community center with a skate park and kids playground and even a ball field. Pretty cool. Sunsets and sunrises are spectacular and minus cloudy nights you’ll see more stars than in Los Angeles which is where we reside. We opted for the premium cabin and I must say it’s quite an upgrade from the Airstreams. Bigger TV, higher ceilings, better temperature controls, and better views due to the large bedroom windows. We stayed around Thanksgiving which to us is a great time to visit the desert. Your experience may vary if you stay when it’s 118 degrees 😂🤣😂.

Normally i don't give bad reviews unless i felt it's too much. They did a great job on the web design and marketing. Honestly, it's not different experience than ordinary RV camp. Therefore you would expect a better service for 400/night camp. There's Zero service besides check in/out. No water in the room, no UberDoordash delivery allowed within. Extra charge for everything basic. Even the kitchen advertised, the coffee that tastes bland often ran out. 4pm check in 10am check out. I very much regret $$ spent here might as well spent on rosewood as least there's service. See the picture and tell me where's the glam part. For 300/400 night, stay in a room with Walls so you won't be frozen awake at night. They have AC but it's Super loud, like a helicopter hover above your head. This is a 2star tops not a 3star. A justified price for it would be 160-230/night. Follow up after checked out: was charged $70 for amenities on top of $700 room fee. I only spent two nights by myself. Didn't even use the shower😖 i don't think i will come here ever again.

We spent a couple nights here and it was perfect. There are a lot of commodities available at their front office. We had the steak package for the first night. The area is nice and quiet and dog friendly.

We stayed at Joshua Tree Auto Camp from for vacation. In the night of 1/23, we came back around 9:00 PM. And then we headed back to our room. But in the morning of 1/24 at around 9:00 am, we found a Christmas hat on the top of our car seat. And some small items in the car were moved around. I swear it was not us!!!We talked to the lobby manager, but she said we were not allowed to check the cameras. We are so worried about our safety. Thank God we didn’t leave anything valuable in the car. This is really creepy and this is definitely an invasion of our private space, especially at a popular resort like this. Be careful people!!

Laurie K

Google
Instant coffee provided was disgusting, and they provided no creamer in the room. When asked for creamer, we were told to walk to the lobby to get it in the morning (in the cold and very far from our airstream). Hair conditioner was out. Need more cozy blankets. Seems like they're more focused on appearances vs actual hospitality. Cute place visually but expensive and very disappointing experience in reality.

Yelp
Our stay was wonderful, we appreciate the text ahead welcoming us and sending us the gate code. The cabin was beautiful and appreciated the large windows with a view. The fire pit and patio were a homely touch to the stay. The lobby and guest areas were a 5 star stay. We tiredly arrived later that evening and Zach warmly welcomed us. He was friendly, professional and attentive. We requested a later checkout for 11am and he was able to accommodate us and really appreciated that. Since Zach has accommodated our late check out The next day, we were still in the suite at 10:26 & I didn't notice the text or phone call from Brianna because we were getting ready to leave by 11am. She came knocking loudly at our door and said I just want to know when you guys will be out. We definitely felt unwelcome and explained we had a later check out until 11am. We went to the front desk before 11am and told the guy at the front desk what happened and he said that the lady that normally checks out will check us out. At this point it did not feel welcoming or service like the advertising advertises. Other than that the stay was great, but there are many other places to stay and just for an extra hour of rest for check out, we wish that it could have been handled better the next morning by the morning staff. In summary, The "evening staff" Zach gave us luxury service the morning staff service was not. Really wanted to rate them a 5 star and until the morning it would have been. Would we stay here again? Yes, we are willing to give them another try.

Yelp
In theory, this is a very cool concept! It feels like an upscale rustic experience which I think people are looking for when they travel to national parks, and want to be comfortable in nature. Traveling alone with 3 young kids, I was hopeful this would give my kids a unique experience while providing me with a little additional support/cushion during what I expected to be a fun but overwhelming trip. I have no complaints about the airstream itself. It's outfitted well, comfortable, and met my expectations. However, the service and how things were handled was not the customer service I was expecting from a place that in total comes to about $500 a night. We went to use our shower our first night, and we noticed a large ball of dirty hair, on the shower floor. I immediately went to the front desk, who assured me they would take care of it immediately I kept my kids playing in the lobby area and waited about 45 min to return to our airstream. When we did return, and checked the bathroom it was clear nobody had been there to clean. I called the front desk (also not easy to reach, you need to go through the main customer service of AutoCamp who will then transfer you to the Joshua Tree location). They didn't know why the shower hadn't been cleaned but assured me they would send someone again. About 20 min later someone did show up and cleaned the shower. However, I was surprised when nobody from management followed up with me to apologize or confirm that things had been taken care of. And frankly, had expected some kind of apology whether in the form of monetary compensation or perhaps a meal on the house. The menu in "The Kitchen" their restaurant, advertised fresh, local, and yummy food. I was disappointed when the pizza they served was a frozen pizza they had defrosted, and the avocado on the avocado toast, was not fresh avocado, but the store brought processed kind that comes in a plastic tub. This was surprising to me, since the food was advertised as local and fresh. I think given the price it makes more sense to stay at an Airbnb, because the added benefits you are paying for, that of a "resort," (food on sight, and customer service) fall short.

Yelp
I come to Joshua tree every year and I love staying at autocamp with my dog. Its so convenient especially its next to the national entrance. This place is super cute and staff are very nice. You can order food and wine. Id get the burger and tater tots superb.

Yelp
Autocamp is a unique "glamping" experience in Joshua Tree. It's like a luxury boutique room in the middle of the desert and comes with privacy, air conditioning, and a cute fire pit with outdoor seating. It's a perfect couples or friends getaway, for those looking to be IN nature but not "too into" nature ;) My family and I rented two cabins which are more expensive than the airstream option, but we booked pretty last minute so there were no longer two airstreams available. Honestly, the airstream and the cabins do not differ too much. They both have kitchens, air conditioning, convertible sofa, and private bathrooms with showers. On the website, it seems the cabins have a nicer view, but I found this to be untrue for the Joshua Tree campsite. It was just an empty lot of sand and desert around us, and we could see houses in the distance. The cabin wasn't worth the extra money for me. Because Autocamp charges luxury prices, I will be a bit more picky with the amenities as well. The TV in one of our cabins was not working (neither Roku chromecast nor accessing streaming directly on the Roku). One of our blinds was not working as well (it would not raise via remote and we could not manually raise it). We had two cabins so we noticed inconsistency with how each of the cabins were stocked. One cabin was missing cooking tongs and large bowls. The other was missing a lantern. The conditioner was also empty - I'm surprised it wasn't filled prior to our check-in. Some other items that I didn't know when I was initially booking: -- The special events, such as yoga, are only offered on weekends. No events during weekdays. -- The outdoor fire pits do not come with fire starter or wood, you'll have to bring those yourself or buy them from the onsite Autocamp store -- You can only use a special eco-friendly wood or charcoal -- Autocamp is not actually in the middle of the national park, it's on a lot of land in a neighborhood in the town of Joshua Tree. So there's plenty of grocery stores around. The drive to Barker Dam, one of the most popular Joshua Tree hikes, is about 30min. Pickiness aside, I did enjoy my experience. Being able to cook my lunch and dinner on the outdoor firepit was great and Joshua Tree is wonderful to stargaze in (the park is open 24 hours!) The staff at Autocamp Joshua Tree is what made my stay fantastic. They were all incredibly friendly and accommodating, going as far as to help clean out our fire pit after our lunch.

Yelp
AutoCamp - A great desert experience, location, facility, and staff. Wonderful manager Amanda, who was so passionate about the property as well as our stay, what a professional asset to the company. YELP Short Answer: YES for a number of reasons first is the location to Joshua Tree National Park then it is the AutoCamp Experience. IF exploring Joshua Tree for the 1st or 10th time you need at a minimum 2-3 days there. LOCATION: Very nice about 5 miles from the ranger station, having turned a bunch of desert into a luxury short-term stay oasis using cleverly converted Airstreams and similar Cabins. This is luxury glamping at its finest. ROOMS: Airstreams are large 30' I believe but they have been converted with highly upgraded bathrooms and living spaces. There were converted at a very high expense so if you've never enjoyed an Airstream experience you should give it a try. CABINS: We've owned an Airstream and have stayed in on at AutoCamp previously so we gave a Cabin a try this trip and I think I preferred it. All Rooms have outdoor fire pits, table, chairs and a pergola to keep out of the sun and yes there is sun. FACILITIES: Top notch everything, from check-in to the shop they have about everything you cold ask for. Pool area is awesome and there are many outdoor community type spaces to just hang out. STAFF: Everyone just seemed like family. This does not just happen, a great ownership group allowing a very cool manager (GM?) Amanda the ability to create her own family team to welcome guest in and out. A shout out to Zach who made our evening very special and made us feel very much at home. Having been in this luxury resort business, I can say they have their stuff together. Guest management software is incredible as is the the seamless check-in and guest connection to their room and wifi. It is all very impressive even though you will probably not notice it, it just works. FOOD & BEVERAGE: Yes, they have food, breakfast, coffee and dinner items and libations during Happy Hour or you can buy a fancy pre assembled fresh meal and go cook it outside at your AirStream. Everything was reasonably priced and very good. Somehow an order of Tater Tots got delivered to my table, maybe a moment of weakness due to Happy Hour, but none the less they were so good and so not on my diet. OVERALL VALUE: Very good, yet a little on the expensive side as you will find out online. That being said this is a first class facility with experienced staffed with excellent amenities. To me it is priced where it should be for the experience and on our visit they were sold out and there are a lot of rooms. TIP: Consider the time of year and your comfort level with a little noise from the heaters (Yes it gets very cold here) or the AC units as the Airstream HVAC Units are on the roof. The Cabins have splitters with the condensers away from the bedroom so super quiet and efficient. Enjoy!

Yelp
What an experience-something for everyone! Don't hesitate book your JT Autocamp trip now. This is a super cute airstream park with great amenities; pool, bon , relaxation, music, happy hour, riding & ‍ ! Inside our tiny house was clean, comfy and very cozy. Tiny house was equipped with stand shower/ wheelchair accessible, ramp up to entrance, personal patio area and bonfire seats right outside too! Customer service was great! All the sweet gals there were really nice. Check in was easy, it's gated for Autocamp visitors only-sweet! Make this your next vaca, family getaway or girls trip...or your next sister Bday trip ;) Close to JT National Park entrances and local eateries if you chose.

Yelp
This was my second time to stay in autocamp , last time was autocamp yosemite where i like it a lot . However , the autocamp in Joshua tree was little bit disappointed . This autocamp was like next to residential area , just like a upscale RV parking place. Unlike the one in yosemite which had a lake , but here was totally nothing. As we tried the airstream before, therefore this time we choose suite style . The suite was definitely more roomy , and it even had a induction cooktop available. As usual , the staff here was so friendly and helpful , and this autocamp even provided free EV charging ( around 6 available ) This autocamp was so close to the Joshua tree national park ( 20mins drive ), which was one of my reason to stay here . Otherwise , autocamp in Yosemite IMO would be the best one for vacation.

Yelp
Really teetering between 3 and 4 stars on this one. We've talked about an AutoCamp stay for years and finally made the trip. We had thought the location would be a bit more - well, something - but you're essentially just right off the main road. The property itself is completely fine, nothing exceptional, but there is quite a bit of road noise. The airstreams are exactly what you'd expect. Cute and simple. Our only complaint was the AC unit is dreadfully loud and it was really challenging at night particularly since it doesn't cool off. Our poor dog was actually afraid of the noise. Our other complaint was the size of the pool. It was much smaller than it looks in photos so once you get another couple or a family their space gets tight quickly. I will say the staff was excellent and we really enjoyed the time we had there, but it might be better for just 1-2 nights vs a longer stay.

Johnny N.

Yelp
We all decided to splurge and reserve a total of 5 Airstreams amongst our families since we didn't want to rough it and camp inside Joshua Tree National Park. The AutoCamp was gated and we felt completely safe roaming around the grounds into the wee hours of the morning. We saw several families having BBQ and just congregating and enjoying themselves on their patio space just right outside the Airstreams. The location was perfect and was only about another 15 minute drive to one of the entrances to the National Park. The large fire pit just right outside the lobby was a nice touch and allowed our group to just hang out, talk and enjoy bottles of wine during the night time. Unfortunately, the pool was closed and had to be cleaned due to a child throwing up earlier so we were not able to enjoy any pool time during the summer heat. The bed inside the airstream was firm and comfortable enough but for someone used to hotels it was still an adjustment in the cramped quarters. I also caused a lot of noise walking back and forth inside the airstream to the restroom/shower. Nonetheless, it was a fun experience that I am glad I tried. Will I do it again for the price? Most likely not, but it was fun while it lasted.

Chloe Y.

Yelp
Lovely place. It is exactly what you would expect from the pictures. Air steam is rustic posh, nice decor, spacious bed and bathroom, thoughtfully planned out details. Club house is clean and uncluttered. Pool area is also clean and well thought out. Their staff, Jericho, was friendly and helpful. It's camping without all the hassle of camping. Strong AC during the hottest days of the year, slept like a baby with the natural morning light as wake up call. Pay attention to the details of this place, you'll notice they put a lot of thought into the planning.

Yelp
Good, but room for improvement. My husband and I have stayed at the Autocamp in Yosemite, so we compare all other AutoCamps to that experience (which was really excellent!). So it appears with all AutoCamps, the retail product of the Airstream and the look/feel inside, right down to the French press coffee pot, the throw pillow on the bed, the tile in the bathroom....a mirror image of our stay in Yosemite. Consistency helps manage the expectation of what some might find scary about sleeping in basically a tin can in the desert. I liked this consistency. Torin was the exceptional point person employed at AutoCamp that really delivered the level of customer service that I think the founders of the AutoCamp brand are expecting. He alone saved this review from being a 3. Friendly, almost jolly, warm, welcoming and wanting to be helpful the best he can. Not everyone at the front desk reception area is quite as approachable or really equipped with the customer service touch. Some things are a bit out of Torin's control though.... the garbage from the prior guest under our kitchen sink that had not been emptied, the dead bolt lock that was not latching on our door, the frig set so cold that it practically froze a bottle of pinot I put in there because I did not think to check it or that it took 24 hours for someone to tell me that I could not send a postcard from their property (after they were in possession of my card and I happened to see that it was still sitting on the front desk, 24 hours later). None of these things are deal breakers, but thus why despite that we really like the AutoCamp brand, this property based on our two night stay warrants a score of a weak 4, with room for improvement. All of these points are easily remedied and avoidable, but as the saying goes, you only have one chance to make a first impression. And this was our first impression. But with my gentle critique out of the way, we did enjoy chillin at the pool (a little soft sounding cool music might have enhanced the ambiance out there in the sunshine) and sitting outside our Airstream in the evening, eyes focused to the sky to star watch. AutoCamps are unique and cool in the sea of options to find a bed for your butt. Maybe not in a rush to stay at this location again, but we will continue to venture to other AutoCamps and encourage others to discover the brand for themselves.

Louis C.

Yelp
What a find! If you like the outdoors but want to be able to retreat back to a unique dwelling other than a motel or campground, autocamp is for you. AutoCamp offers the comforts of a high end hotel with the experience of camping. The customer service is excellent with a large welcoming lobby and community hangout area. Outside there's another fire pit for people to hang out and socialize. There's also an outdoor pool, but we were there in November, so it was way too cold. The best part is where you stay. If you've never stayed in an airstream trailer before the price of admission is worth every penny. The trailers are so cool! Inside, you have every modern amenity you would expect in a high-end hotel - there is no roughing it. Although it's a trailer, it's unique to auto camp where you can use as much water in the kitchen and the shower without worrying about your water tank. You also don't have to empty the gray and black tanks. I believe each trailer empties into a septic tank. Regardless, we never had to empty the tanks ourselves. I didn't take very good pictures, but sharing a few below. I definitely recommend this place and would go back again the next time I plan a visit to Joshua tree or any other AutoCamp location.

David G.

Yelp
AutoCamp has some amazing locations ( yosemite, russian river) ...this is not one of the. It is a plot of flat dry land right off the highway. sure the airstreams are a novel and cool idea. they are nicely appointed but things did not work or were useless. Not much close by unless you consider a dollar store. Heads up. You are give a little cart to truck your luggage to your airstream...so if you are in the way back...you going to be lugging stuff a long way. One and Done!

Vance N.

Yelp
Went glamping for the first time! My girlfriend loved the idea of tiny home living and the newly opened auto camp filled that void perfectly. The staff were super pleasant and made a really good impression. They made us feel welcome and made sure we had no problems with our stay. The airstreams were all new and very clean, they had everything a homebody like myself would need to not feel so uncomfortable with "camping". Each airstream includes a dining area outside and a firepit. (Bring your own firewood as it is not included). I was also able to charge my Tesla with one of the 4 EV chargers in the dirt parking area. There are 2 tesla chargers and 2 J1772 chargers for EVs so I was not worried about my battery. I highly recommend this if you are looking for an escape from busy city life!

Lorena S.

Yelp
Had a weekend sister trip here at Otto camp and it was so much fun. I loved the idea of roughing it a little bit with a few Glamping amenities to keep us comfortable. It was extremely hot that weekend and I was so happy to walk into our airstream that already had the AC on so that we could cool down right away. The airstream was quaint and just enough for both of us to be able to enjoy relax and watch TV or read. In the morning we use the electric water heater to make our coffee which was really really good quality coffee. Our first night we went up to the main house to get some s'mores kits and firewood. We did have a little trouble starting our fire but once it got started we were able to enjoy our s'mores. By the way the kits have artesian marshmallows or chocolate I can't remember and they were truly truly amazing. I will never be able to eat regular s'mores again. It was really nice to sit outside in our chairs by the fire and catch up. I know a lot of people had spoken out about the noise from the highway but really I've barely even heard it. I think it all depends on your sensitivity to noise. We didn't use the pool but we did hang out in the main room and in the front area for a little bit and the next day I did do check out a bike to ride around the AutoCamp. The front house staff was truly amazing from the moment we checked in to all the times we went in there for supplies to checking out we really never had bad service and they were always willing to help in anyway. There is a good variety of wine drinks and other refreshments in the main house as well as some Eats that you can order. They also have games cornhole and other things to keep your self busy. We went when it was extremely hot but I do believe you would be able to enjoy more of these amenities if you go later in the season when it's not as hot during the day. Looking forward to one day going back or trying out some of their other sites.

Yelp
I don't usually write reviews but I needed to praise Jackie at the front desk. This woman went so above and beyond for me on my trip. On my last night, Jackie was so sweet. She went out of her way to get me into a new airstream last minute. On top of that, she noticed I was a bit sad(personal reasons. The camp was amazingly beautiful!) and she knocked on my door with pizzas to cheer me up. She also left me a cinnamon roll and apple juice in the new airstream so I would wake up feeling chipper. She was genuinely such a ray of light and I can't thank her enough. Such a kind person. I highly recommend staying at the Autocamp. Besides their amazing amentities and local to the entrance of the park, the staff is the kindest warmest and most helpful people. 10/10

Ace P.

Yelp
Great costumer service. We forgot dog food for our fur baby the front desk host ( I forgot his the receptionist name, wished I ask) brought us some dog food to our camp site free of charge.

Sonia M.

Yelp
Been to a few glamping sites before and Autocamp provides the best amenities thus far. I had high expectations due to the visit to the Yosemite site when it first opened. This site in Joshua tree is quite different. Maybe because we tried the suite this time instead of the air stream, everything felt bigger and wider. The living pods are further apart. One thing we really liked was the free EV charging stations on site. The club house is cute from the exterior, but I would say the Yosemite one is better inside. At JT there is a heated pool and bike rental. I love the fire place and the picnic bench in front of the suite. The insulation of the suite is way better than the airstreams so it felt warm inside even at night. I remember feeling cold during shower last time inside the airstream. Just a reminder, if you run the hot water for too long, it will turn cold. The site landscaping felt right in a desert. The only down side to this site is that it is really close to the residential area and you won't be able to feel like you're at a remote place. Up side is that it's super close to the National park entrance. 5 mins to the visitor center.

Yelp
This place was perfect for our weekend getaway to Joshua tree. The property is gated and there was a code that was texted to me the day before in order to get in. As we pulled in to park, you immediately see the main building where you check in. Inside looked simple and neat. This common area was also a gathering place with a fire place and some board games. The front desk guy was really friendly and helpful and gave instructions about a few things needed for the room. On this property, there were airstreams and suites. They have a swimming pool on site and a communal fire pit on the property. Complimentary bikes were also available on the property, but you have to sign waivers at the front desk. There are a few grocery items that you could purchase in the main building. There are no cars allowed in the area past the main building and only staff golf carts are seen driving around. We had to use wagons to take our things from our car to our suite. We booked one of the suites that fit my family of 4 perfectly. It was definitely a small space, but enjoyable. It had a small kitchenette with their own cookware to use, good size mini fridge, beautiful bathroom, lovely main bedroom, And a small living space area with a tv and a convertible couch. Right outside was our own personal fire pit with a small picnic area. There was also an outside shower most likely for use on hotter days after the pool. We didn't use it because it was definitely on the chillier side during our stay. Friday night there was live music with a pretty talented musician and on Saturday there was an astronomer that came out to talk about constellations and we all got to look through his telescope at different planets/stars/the moon. I would definitely recommend this place. It really is glamping at its finest. Oh.... And just FYI..... -the tv works but you have to login with your own account to the apps on there like Netflix/prime/ Hulu etc. if you did want to watch tv. We didn't use the tv at all. -Showering: hot water stays hot for 10mins then gets cold. We were informed about that during checkin so not a surprise when the water started to get cold during a shower. They said that you'd just have to wait another 10-15mins for the water to heat up again, so if you are one of those that takes long showers... beware. - Joshua tree National park was only a short drive away. Less than 10mins.

Yelp
My husband and I really enjoyed our weekend getaway to Autocamp. We only live a couple of hours away, so it was perfect. You are sent a gate code that lets you into the gated facility. Check-in was nice and easy. Our suite was ready, but we did arrive shortly after 4pm. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. Keep in mind that you will have to use one of the little wagons provided in the parking lot to wheel your items to your airstream or suite. The suite itself is nice and cozy. More than enough space for myself and husband. The kitchenette is fully stocked with cups/plate/bowls/utensils/pots/pans. A pretty decent sized fridge for a small unit too. The site is a short drive to Joshua Tree National Park. Just a heads up, auto camp is right off a main road. If you're expecting it to in the middle of nowhere, it's not. It didn't bother us at all. We took advantage of the happy hour in the afternoons and the complimentary coffee in the mornings as well. We also rode the bikes around the property. The bikes can be taken into town as long as you lock them up. If/when we return to Joshua Tree, this is the only place we would stay. Family/pet friendly. If you do choose to bring your pets, keep in mind that it's a lot of dirt. Doable, but just expect them to get dirty :) I even forgot my kindle in the suite and they were able to recover it and send it to me!

Yelp
This place is way overpriced for what it is. Not happy with my stay here. First off they clearly have roads & a parking space in front of your room but they refuse to let you drive to your room, even in the freezing cold. They don't offer to help with any of your luggage at all. They give you these bootleg beat to hell p.o.s. Metal wagons & make you haul all your own stuff to your room. They purposely block off the road so you can't drive to it. Then after not doing anything to help you with your luggage in the freezing cold they scold you to make sure you walk all the way back in the freezing cold to return your junk wagon to the corral of other junk wagons. The place is clearly meant to have a campfire setting but on top of the already high price they stick it to you more by selling you extremely overpriced firewood. Once you get inside they have 0 entertainment on the tv. They expect you to do all the work of hooking up your phone/computer & paying for your own streaming service to play anything on the tv. When the wild blows the whole entire unit shakes like it's about to fall over in an earthquake. There is no hot water so you just freeze while taking a shower. Despite the entire place being fenced in they lock the front door of the lobby at night. It has glass windows where the people that work there can clearly see you but they ignore you & act like they don't see you expecting you to walk around to the back door. If this place was $100 a night all those things wouldn't be so bad but they charge an extremely high price for such horrible service. Won't be going back here again. Don't recommend it to anyone.

Yelp
Tucked into Joshua Tree is a hidden gem. You'd never know you were coming close and then you've arrived. Great local restaurants near by. Within walking distance to hikes and coffee shops. Has gourmet on-site meal options, beverages and desserts . Quite and relaxing . Love the Autocamp brand.

Yelp
This place has an overall nice vibe but their food tastes bad and they don't have hot chocolate in the cold mornings or nights this will be a good stay just not so much for your kids. The gate code is 303

Yelp
The area seems a little sketchy but once inside you feel safe. The campsite is full of airstreams and some tiny homes. Its very clean and well kept. It was such a fun experience for us as a family of 3. We didn't have to pack so much because you have everything in the airstreams. There's a mini refrigerator, microwave and little safe. The couch fold out to a bed. The only complaint is that the heater was a little loud in the airstream other than that we had such a great time. There was live music. Chris (bartender) was extremely friendly and went above and beyond for us. There was also an astronomer, Steve that was so knowledgeable and so great at what he does. It was a very neat experience to be able to look at the stars and different planets. My 8 yr old wanted me to make sure we give Steve and Chris a 10/10. Thanks Chris and Steve!

Yelp
this place is too dope for the non-camper! the airstreams are cool and just enough, the location is great and great staff like TORIN to help you with all needs, i'll definitely be back and i hope TORIN is still here to assist, good dude.

Yelp
Loud music all day Saturday. Ruining the natural desert vibe. Friday night, loud music. Saturday all day, loud music. What about letting the desert quiet be the music? ZERO STARS!

Yelp
We like the place, clean and cozy the staff are helpful and friendly. Special mention to Kellie

Yelp
Did not intent to review Autocamp, but we are in the hopes that leadership will read and improve. On our first day our family member was injured on property. It was clear there was not training or protocol for a situation like this, because front desk offered a first aid kit and let us figure out what to use. There was no protocol about what to do, so we drove ourselves to the Hospital for treatment. Prior to going to the hospital, GM offered to comp our stay and that Autocamp would pay for any bills incurred. On our return the offer had changed to comp half the stay. We thought that it was not ok to change the offer since we could no longer use the facilities due to the injury and it was time spent in a Hospital instead of on vacation, but we accepted to be cooperative. We gave the GM a copy of the discharge papers. The GM gave us his business card so that we could contact him in case of any questions/issues. He advised us that Autocamp would handle the Hospital charges. This happened back in June. One month later we recieved the Hospital bill for a small $179.18 the Hospital had given us a huge discount from 4k to 179. Surely, Autocamp could cover this 179 which would he there right thing to do, since there was an injury on their property. We sent a text with the bill information to the GM on the number that was printed on his business card. He did not reply. So we called to follow up the next day. He seemed a bit put off and told us he would not be paying for the bill himself. Of course we never thought he would pay out of pocket, he is employed by Autocamp! We sent the text to him since he gave us his card and was the person in charge when this happened. He needed to follow up on behalf of Autocamp. In any case, he said he would follow up with leadership. Two months later, and we recieved printed bills from the hospital, balance still outstanding. We follow up with several emails to AC, which the GM replied and said he assumed this had been taken care of and he would follow up again. Three months later and now we are receiving collection calls for the bill. This is unacceptable. So we write another email to AC customer service, since there is no leadership emails to be found online and another to the GM. AC replies with we will forward to management on site, and no response from GM. At this point, we are understanding that AC does not intend to pay any bills and is ignoring the matter. Thankfully the bill was reduced, if it had been thousands we would be stuck with this bill. We think AC needs to train their staff on what to do in case of injury, how to render first aid, who to call, some type of protocol. Also if they dont intend on paying then dont make promises. We have been patient and cooperative. Three months is plenty of time to settle a bill or at least communicate about their process. AC should have comped our entire stay (2 nights) since we could no longer enjoy the facilities due to injury and paid the bill. The only resort we have left is to hope leadership sees their review and takes some action.

Yelp
Just checked out and sad to leave. I expected to love Joshua tree but I didn't expect to fall in love with a camper. Who ever designed these is a genius. Lighting, sound, bedding, shades. It was cold but heat kept us perfectly toasty and beautiful sunrise right over our heads through the panoramic windows. Was very tempted to try to hook the camper up to the rental car and drive away very fast.

Joselyne R.

Yelp
Had multiple fraudulent charges on my account 2 days after my stay. Left our unit in perfect condition so there were no reasons for charges. Not sure if they do this with everyone or do it selectively but I'm just throwing it out there as a warning.

Yelp
Day 1 of auto camp is a success! Given that this location just opened this week, everything has a new car smell (pun intended). Auto camp is a nice balance between camping without the mess that us soft city folks need. Plenty of EV charging too for those with electric vehicles. One downside is that as of this date, extra amenities like the plunge pool, tv, bar are still in process.

Yelp
My family and I stayed at AutoCamp Joshua Tree this weekend. We had an amazing experience, the staff was very courteous, the facility was clean, the cabin provided the comforts of home. They provided dishes, utensils, cook wear, blankets, everything you'd need to camp. We received complimentary smores kit, a bundle of wood; the fire pit is in front of our cabin with chairs that allow stargazing and a picnic bench for eating. The restaurant had delicious food, the hours of the restaurant are perfect for late night eaters; the bar stays open till 1am. I was surprised the pool was heated given the cold weather of 56, but it was definitely heated for a swim. The gated campground allows for secured camping which makes me feel 100% safe. There's a playground for kids, pets are allowed. We are definitely going back, I'm past the age of pitching a tent so AutoCamp is exactly what I need. I highly recommend experiencing AutoCamp, you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Just got home yesterday from Autocamp Joshua Tree, (their other locations look nicer),one night stay, could not wait to cut our stay short and leave the next morning. My husband and I checked in on a Wed. At 4pm w our two dogs. I guess I really did not understand it was right of the main road, at a busy intersection. First impression, a parking lot with Airstream trailers. There is zero shade unless you are at the club house. This club house on line showed a full menu, however only pre made grab and go items in a case are available. Website gave a very different impression. The canopy set up at each trailer offers no shade and no protection from wind. Trailer was cute and clean, however, must run AC and it is a very loud system. If you do not run AC or heat at night, you hear all the traffic noise from road, and yes, lots of car noise at 2am on. We tried to grill, and due to breeze, it is very difficult to light fire, and sit out in wind to eat. (I am no pro camper for sure!) I just don't get this place. They were kind enough to lower our rate from $650 to 399$ per night due to current rates on line! We also paid a bit more for a "vista view", I laugh due to no vista!! All trailers are the same, some more inner in the parking lot, ours was outer, big deal, now we can watch the cars driving by on highway! I don't get the price fluctuation? 75$ for both dogs, one time fee. Dog rules state, stay away from grass, again, no blade in sight on this property! I guess if you are out hiking all day, it's fine for a crash pad, but a pricey one!! Much better options are available for that price, or actual camping! Would not recommend staying here. Our dogs thought they were being punished.

Yelp
If you've never tried "glamping", then you should. Especially here. My wife and I had a great time. The airstream was a fun place to stay for the night. The bed was comfortable, there was ample space inside, and you have your own shower and toilet! Lol. The one complaint we do have is we didn't expect the trailer to be so bouncy when someone is moving around the inside of it and you're either laying or sitting down. It's reminiscent of being on a cruise ship. But overall, it was a wonderful experience. So much so we want to try out their other locations.

Yelp
Our boys had so much fun riding around the camp with the bikes provided. We had previously stayed at the Autocamp in Yosemite and this stay at Joshua Tree was also very nice. Special shout out to Christopher and Manda for their excellent customer service. The two locations could not be more different... one in lush greenery and the other in the desert but the Airstreams are top quality. Autocamp offers quite a few experiences with local experts. We signed up for the "Hands-On Plant Medicine and Naturalist Walk" with Christina Sanchez of everyleafspeaks.org Did you know that Joshua Tree is NOT a Tree? Well you will learn all these amazing facts about desert flora and fauna from Christina Sanchez who is a Botanist and a Conservationist for Joshua Tree national park. We took our boys 8 and 10 on the 3 hour walk/hike and the experience left us all smarter. We were hesitant about the 3 hours with our 2 boys but Christina made it fun and not boring for all of us. We wanted to walk thru and experience Joshua Tree not only as spectators hiking but rather going with a guide who can make the hike educational by introducing us to the history of the park, the desert plants and how to appreciate all that we saw and touched. We learned about the types of plants that heal, plants used by indigenous people as food source and medicinal purposes and the different ways we can use herbs/plants in our pantry or backyard. My boys took pictures of interesting plants like Witches Hair, learned about how invasive plants take over native plants and environmental impact on the desert. The 3 hours flew by, we even went over-time! We will always remember our hike at Joshua Tree with Christina. We had a great time and if you are interested in having a guided walk with a Botanist, you will definitely come away more than you had expected.

Yelp
I personally thought I would have been better off going to an Airbnb/ hotel or full on camping. This was a weird in- between. We didn't have water due to a maintenance issue for half the day. Looks like they are still trying to get it together and working on construction. Amenities are average. Decor and esthetic were nice. I personally would just get a big Airbnb with more privacy and space next time. It was a cool experience that I wouldn't care to try again for the large $$$ amount you pay per night.

Yelp
We just spent 3 days camping in an Airstream trailer here at Auto Camp. This is a new facility and it sure is nice. Reasonably priced. The trailer is very comfortable, the towels and bedding are soft, and the grounds are beautiful. Individual fire pits and tables. Fairly close to everything in Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley. The staff was super. Complimentary wine in the evening. However, because the place is so new, there's a few bugs that need to be worked out. The pool was closed, the door lock on the trailer was broken, and the TV cable was not connected yet. The AC/heaters in the trailer were pretty noisy. The hot water was VERY hot. Someone could easily get burned. Still, if they work out these little details, this will be a five-star place. Definitely recommended.

Yelp
What a wonderful trip! Accommodations, staff, location, and ambience was spot on! I would highly recommend this experience.

Yelp
Amazing glampground! Love the little trailers; its so cute and clean! The staffs are amazing and one staff in particular, I would like to give a shout-out to, Elizabeth, she's on nightshift and she is so nice and so helpful. Honestly, its people that friendly and helpful are hard to come by. THANK YOU LIZ! Trailer 146 :)

Yelp
Liked the concept and online marketing, but the actual experience wasn't all that great. Check-in was easy, but you can't drive up to the rental, you have to use their hand carts. Non-tesla EV charging wasn't working, which was inconvenient because we had called ahead specifically planning to use it. At first glance, the site looks more like a trailer park. The airstreams are grouped close together and the location is within a few hundred feet of a major intersection. Street traffic is seen and heard easily. The interior of the unit is impressive and remodeled well. However, the outdoor area is limited, and very little shade is provided. Wind becomes an issue in the afternoon and makes it difficult to get a fire started. Planted agriculture surrounding the site hasn't had a chance to grow yet, making most of the campus look barren. They attempted to add to the experience by inviting musicians to perform both Fri/Sat nights, however, the guests were more interested in entertaining themselves, while the musicians awkwardly played to an empty clubhouse. The pool was a nice amenity. Would not recommend it and probably wouldn't be coming back.

Yelp
Here's my honest opinion: autocamp does a good at glamping for the money in general. The JT location falls behind their typical experience. The place is new so the airstreams and trailers are beautiful and in good shape. Unfortunately the grounds are just a dirt lot for now hopefully it will improve. It is also right on the main highway! Don't expect quiet and serenity. It's bright and loud as hell in the middle of town. The issue we had was that because of bad weather they moved a multiple day large work party to the main clubhouse leaving all of their other guests with anywhere to go or place to chill. Their private event venue is outdooors and when weather is not great they just move people indoors sabotaging the common space and the guest experience. They had presentations and power points in there all day. When weather is not good that's really not ideal. Get yourself an air bnb for the same price this place is not worth it

Yelp
Spent the weekend at AutoCamp. Check in was quick and easy. Our airstream was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. We used the pool one afternoon, which was refreshing in the heat. Tried the complimentary granola with yogurt we had brought with us and it was very tasty. Also recommend the breakfast quesadilla and the chicken pot pie. They had great live music and we really enjoyed Rick Shelley. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful. It is close to the highway but we honestly didn't hear too much noise from it. The location isn't the best but everything else made up for that.

Yelp
What a great addition to the Joshua Tree National Park area! This is our 3rd AutoCamp visit (Yosemite & Russian River). Great glamping accommodations with an excellent & friendly staff. We were able to take our dog, which was awesome. They had only been open 3 weeks, not everything was fully up and running (no cable yet), but they waived the resort fee, which was fair. The only challenge was that there really aren't any great places nearby to eat and their menu was very limited. Since we had a pet with us, our options were pretty limited and we scrambled to find something, but it all worked out. This is the way camping is supposed to work! Loved it.

Yelp
Umm... Could've gone to a different airstream for half the price with all the promised amenities. First night there, wanted to settle in for a movie before falling asleep. TVs not working. Called the front desk, "oh sorry we don't have the cable set up yet, so sorry nobody told you". Fine, no big deal, I'm tired anyway. First morning, my parent's airstream didn't have hot water, so they couldn't take their planned morning shower before our hike. Mine was missing coffee, no planned sunrise cup of coffee :/ I called the front desk, "oh sorry, we thought we would have enough for all the airstreams, we're all out... if u want u can come to the front desk and get a cold brew from the fridge free of charge" no offer to deliver to me since my airstream was all the way at the back of the property. Fine whatever, I'll just get the coffee on my way out. Came back from a full day at the park, planned to get in the jacuzzi... "oh yeah it's not done yet". I get the property is new and I understand the reason it was not up and running completely could be due to COVID and shipping delays and whatnot but it would've been nice to have been communicated that when we were told we had to reschedule our original dates since the opening was delayed and given us the choice to either come with the "waived" $25 amenity fee (which is nothing considering how overpriced this place is, and I ended up being charged for anyway, I had to call to get it refunded) or wait until all the promised amenities were completed. I will not be recommending and will opt for other airstream properties.

Yelp
My wife and I went there for 4 nights primarily to observe the lunar eclipse, visit the park and fortunately the weather cooperated. However it was one bad surprise after another from the moment we checked in until we left. I paid an exhorbitant $468 per night which could have bought a very nice room at the Ritz Carolton for example but instead I find out that first I have to drag all my travel luggage and gear via wagon from a dusty parking lot to my assigned trailer. Every time we wanted to go somewhere we walked through the dust and sand to and from the car or to the main check-in center building. As many have stated it's just a dirty desert piece of property with about 50 trailers maybe 25-30 feet apart and little more sitting by Google's measure about a few hundred yards from heavily travelled Highway 62. My rate was also a "Vista" booking and someone needs to show the management the actual meaning of the word!! The "vista" was a wire fence 10 yards away with some kind of city service building another 60-70 yards across some desert scrub land. Nothing is paved anywhere on the property other than the walk up and back patio to the main building. I've travelled the world over the last 40 years including wilderness canoe camping in Canada and there is nothing to justify the price they are charging for the product they offer. All it shows me is they want to pay off the debt for this place as fast as they possibly can. There's minimal staff, high priced snacks and finger food and one apology after another for all the short comings that abound there. I would say if you're a 20 or 30 something and you have no idea about camping you might find a 31' Airstream kind of cool. Other than the eclipse our best experience was going twice to Palm Springs for dinner then lunch and staying away from the place. I could go on about the trailer's HVAC and the outside eating area but what for! I'm pretty much done with spending my money in California, no price is too high whether its the product or the fees and taxes!
