AutoCamp Comes to Sequoia National Park in California - AFAR

"Opening March 10, 2025, this design-forward glamping property sits among some of the tallest trees near the confluence of the Kaweah River’s three forks, about 15 minutes from Sequoia National Park (home to the famed General Sherman Tree) and roughly 90 minutes from Kings Canyon National Park. The 85-unit site is dominated by the brand’s signature 31-foot silver Airstream trailers featuring bright, modern interiors, spa-inspired bathrooms with walk-in showers, queen-size beds, convertible sofas, kitchenettes, and private patios with fire pits. Some units are configured as Base Camp pairings that combine an Airstream with a neighboring canvas tent (king bed, extra sofa bed, mini-fridge). The property also includes midcentury-inspired tiny-home cabins (several ADA-compliant) and hotel-style Bunk Rooms. A central Clubhouse provides lounge seating, games, indoor and outdoor fire pits, a bar serving local beers, wines and cocktails, an outdoor pool, free bicycle rentals, live weekend music, and a calendar of classes such as yoga and pilates. On-site dining at a Kitchen (open 7 a.m.–10 p.m.) ranges from breakfast sandwiches to pizzas, and a General Store stocks locally sourced campfire dinner kits and trail-ready picnic supplies. Rates start around $290 per night, and stays can be booked via the brand’s website or, beginning March 15, through Hilton with Hilton Honors benefits." - Bailey Berg

Overpriced! I feel ripped off spending over $400 a night to stay in a small, noisy, airstream that was supposedly premium on the river. We had no electricity until late the first night, not their fault, and the next day with the ac obnoxiously blasting non-stop it was never cool even though it was only low 80s.. It felt cramped with 4 people if all inside. 2 were small children and fit nicely on the fold out. Thankfully it is lovely outside so no need to stay inside. I’m 6’ and hit my head a few times… A nice beach area by the river is quite pleasant to relax by. Our unit was also by the river and lovely to sit beside. It wasn’t very accessible from our unit. Not a real rv to prepare any food so you are stuck with a fire, relying on the onsite kitchen, or a few choices a few miles up the road. Our unit was far from parking, and schlepping our stuff in tiny provided wagons up and down a dusty dirt way is not fun especially when it is over 90F. Would not stay here again after being excited to experience this.

We stayed here recently in a Vista Suite right on the river and it was MAGICAL. You could hear the river falling asleep every evening and woke up in the morning to birds and peaceful nature sounds. The bed was super comfortable and it's nice to have heating/AC options. The Airstream shower was also really nice and spacious. Better than we expected. The Clubhouse and pool area are great hangout spots. We had dinner out in Three Rivers one night and dinner and drinks at the Clubhouse another night. Super convenient and there was live music at the Clubhouse the night we ate there which was fun. They also have a private beach area right on the river at end of the property and it was really nice to go lay a towel down and read on the little beach for a while. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Close to the National Park although it's one main road through town and up to the park so if you're stuck behind a slow car, it can take a bit longer than expected. Overall, really enjoyed our stay and would recommend!

We recently went on a family trip to AutoCamp and had a wonderful experience glamping in the beautiful Sequoia woods. My children and I had one of the cabin suites while my parents stayed in an airstream. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and spacious enough for me and my three kids. We enjoyed the individual campfires and benches in front of each dwelling where we would congregate at night and roast marshmallows. My kids also had fun splashing around in the pool in the morning. We participated in the various activities that AutoCamp put on, such as the rock painting and early morning yoga sessions. The AutoCamp location was in a very scenic place, on the river, with many trees for shade situated throughout the camp. There was water always available in the lounge and hot tea/coffee with granola in the morning. The front desk staff were responsive to our needs and assisted how they could. Overall, this was a wonderful experience and I would recommend this stay for others looking for a nature filled wonderful experience.

Best sleep I've had in some time, very comfy beds. Wish they had hot dogs and burger kits instead of steaks, but steaks were yummy and the beans were some of the best flavored beans I've had. Location is great for getting into the 2 parks. Our camper was quiet right up against the river. Will definitely goo to other locations and here again if we return to sequoia.

We really enjoyed our 3-night stay at AutoCamp Sequoia. This was our third AutoCamp experience (previously Yosemite and Joshua Tree), and it continued to meet our expectations. We usually stay in an Airstream, but since we had 4 adults and 2 kids, we opted for the suite with 2 queen beds and bunk beds. It was nice we got the end unit, 608. The space worked well for all six of us—comfortable and never felt cramped. That said, we weren’t in the room much since we spent most of our time outdoors or relaxing in the lobby area. This location felt very similar to the other AutoCamps in terms of layout and vibe, with the main differences being the view, a dustier setting, and definitely more bugs! It was a busy summer weekend so the wait to get extra towels, shampoo, utensils etc took longer than usual. Still, the staff was helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. The pool area was very popular—lots of families and kids enjoying it. Although we didn’t get a chance to swim, it was always lively in the evenings when we returned from hiking. One night, there was even live music in the lobby area, which added a fun touch to the experience. We’ve never had a bad experience at an AutoCamp. You’re not here for luxury—you’re here for the unique experience of staying in an Airstream (or cabin) near the river with easy access to the national park. You can go full-on camping mode by bringing your own gear to cook meals, or take it easy and order food from the lobby café. There are also decent restaurant options just 5–10 minutes up the road. It’s a great spot for a few families to come together and hang out for a few days. We’d definitely stay here again—so much to do nearby, and the atmosphere is always fun and relaxed.

We were excited to stay at AutoCamp Sequoia based on its promise of a luxury outdoor experience, but unfortunately, the reality didn’t quite match the marketing. There were 30 of us on this trip and booked varying accommodations. We booked a guest room with bunk beds and extended our stay by adding a second reservation months in advance. I had called ahead to confirm we wouldn’t need to move rooms, but at check-in, we were told we’d have to switch on our last night. The explanation didn’t make much sense (housekeeping backlog) but thankfully, Megan (the manager) went above and beyond to keep us in the same room. Her effort was appreciated. The beds and bathroom were clean, but the rest of the space felt overlooked. Kitchen items were stored in plastic bins under the sink and fridge, but the bins were dirty—containing hair and dead bugs. There was no shelving, so everything felt thrown together. Towels were also stored in a bin under the sink, and the toiletry dispensers in the shower were empty. The fridge and microwave were oddly stacked on a box next to the bunk bed steps, which felt unsafe and cramped. The pool was murky and didn’t appear well-maintained, so we opted to swim in the river instead—which turned out to be the best part of our stay. The river is beautiful, peaceful, and great for kids. Its proximity to Sequoia National Park is also a big plus. A few suggestions that could make a big difference: • Install a few outdoor spigots around the property so guests can rinse their feet—since most of the grounds are dirt paths, it’s easy to track dust and debris into the rooms. • Consider adding a small outdoor kitchen sink near the guest rooms. Unlike the Airstreams, there is no kitchenette or designated food prep area in the guest rooms. • Adding basic shelving or cabinetry inside the rooms would go a long way in improving organization. This place has a lot of potential, but it needs more attention to cleanliness, organization, and design to truly deliver the luxury experience it advertises.

AutoCamp Sequoia offered the perfect base for our family's adventure. Its location was ideal – close enough to Sequoia National Park for day hikes, yet near enough to town for great, local coffee and shops. The staff were excellent, making the whole trip smooth sailing for the entire family getaway. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, with fun amenities like lobby board games and live music. The pool was a welcome relief from the summer heat, and the evenings by the bonfire under the stars were unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Google
Such a sweet spot for a weekend getaway! We stayed in an airstream and it was perfect - comfy bed, large shower and bathroom, and everything we needed to cook meals. The Clubhouse was also a great gathering spot for games/meals/drinks. The location is right near the entrance to Sequoia NP, so it was easy to get to and from our hiking spots. Would definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking to treat yourself to a special stay in the mountains!

Yelp
We had a great 3-night stay at AutoCamp Sequoia--our third AutoCamp experience after Yosemite and Joshua Tree. We stayed in the suite with 2 queen beds and bunk beds, which was perfect for our group of 4 adults and 2 kids. The space was comfortable, and the beds and pillows were super cozy--exactly what we needed after full days of exploring the National Park. Most of our time was spent outside autocamp, in the lively lobby area, which had live music one evening and the space in front of our room. The pool was popular with families, though we didn't get a chance to swim. Staff was helpful throughout, though since it's the busy summer season, some room requests took a little longer than usual. The location had some views, though it was dustier and buggier than the other AutoCamps we've stayed at, probably since we're next to a river. Still, the overall experience was great and in line with what we've come to expect from AutoCamp--comfortable stays close to nature with easy access to the national park (about 20 min drive to entrance). You can bring your own gear to cook meals or keep it simple by ordering from the on-site café. We didn't try any of the on site food because we thought it was overpriced and did not look that great. We made breakfast every morning and packed a lunch. Dinner we ate at nearby restaurants just 5-10 minutes away. Great spot for families or friends to spend a few relaxed days together. We'd definitely stay here again but in an airstream next time (has a kitchenette which the bunk does not have).

Yelp
This was our first time at an AutoCamp and overall, we liked it but I just didn't think it was worth it for the price. We arrived on a Tuesday so it was fairly quiet at the campsite overall, but still had a fair amount of people since it was summertime. We arrived pretty early (around 12pm) and hoped we could check in but they said our airstreams weren't ready. The lady who was at the front desk was a little curt with us but it seemed like she was the only person there at that time and she was checking people in and cleaning. I don't want to complain too much since they seemed understaffed but it would have been nice to have a nicer greeting considering how much you're spending to stay there. However, I have to say that all the other staff were very nice and accommodating, as well as their text service who answered many of my questions. When we returned at 3:30pm, our airstreams were ready and definitely smaller than I expected, but very clean overall. Online, it says it can sleep 4 but that would definitely be a challenge due to the size. Also, everything inside worked well. Water pressure wasn't strong but that's to be expected since it's not a hotel room. Nonetheless, everything was adequate and all of the amenities were nice. They also have a swimming pool and a little "beach" where the kids can wade in. However, both were pretty crowded. Not that you couldn't find a place to sit, but it can get busy in both locations. The clientele is very diverse. And I don't mean racially diverse but diverse in other ways. You would expect to have the typical families but I think this camp also attracts kind of a douchey Instagram/Tik Tok crowd or whatever social media is in at the moment since that's who they seem to advertise to. Definitely a different crowd than those who are exploring Sequoia National Park and I would guess most are not regular campers. For us, who went camping for the family aspect, it was a little bit of a turn off. It wasn't horrible, but it was a little unexpected. Anyway, it was fun, but I don't think it's something I would do again, considering the price. If you're there to explore Sequoia National Park, like we were, I would probably stay at the Wuksachi Lodge which I think is cheaper and you're right in the park. Or even somewhere else in Three Rivers that is cheaper, but just as close to the National Park. I guess if you really wanted the airstream experience, it's worth it, but it wasn't worth it for us.

Yelp
The tent we stayed in was awesome. It had AC and a fan which kept it cool during the hotter hours. The vibe inside was soo cool. I loved it in our tent: it was clean and comfy and spacious. The airstream was a bit packed inside, as expected, but was very new and clean. We upgraded to a vista airstream and tent right along the river which was a great spot. I did a cold plunge in the river within minutes of arriving! Occasionally a white water rafting crew would cruise on by. On the other side of the camp is the conjunction of the Three Rivers which is way cool and the stream is super loud over there. We were on a mellowed part of the river. A few things: 1. add a ramp on the other side of the clubhouse so the wagons can be wheeled down to the rooms. 2. Include a plug in stove in the airstreams 3. Include a toaster in the airstreams 4. An earlier check in would be nice. We ended up waiting with all our luggage until the room was ready, and even then we didn't get the text is was ready because we had no service and the wifi didn't suffice. 5. More entry signage or some sort of nice entrance. 6. Quieter AC units 7. More staffing to run the food counter 8. Adhere to quiet hours. The movie ran until 11 pm and we couldn't sleep. 9. Water the trees, they are all dying 10. The events were very unorganized and scattered. We got an expire gift voucher from bingo. Overall, this place is a great concept, it just seems like they rushed to get it open and do not organize their staff well. There are lots of improvements to be made and I hope they enact some before we try out another AutoCamp again.

Yelp
Overall good experience. Positives: -our airstream by the river was at one of the far ends of the camp away from the 'beach access'. This meant less people/kid traffic walking by. -the staff was very polite and helpful -free coffee and cereal at the reception area each morning is awesome. -free EV charging is a plus, given that the closest supercharger is 40min away. -airstream was clean, plenty of towels, design with huge shower/decent bedroom/adequate living&kitchen -nightly activities/entertainment offerings -pool looks well maintained and friendly to use. Possible improvements: -ac could of been turned on by cleaning staff on day of arrival, Given temps in the High 90s outside. When we arrived at 3:30pm it was 105 inside the airstream. We had the ac on for 5min and the entire area of 3 rivers lost power until 7pm. If the ac had been left on at least the inside would of held lower temp regardless of power loss. Maybe backup power for the autocamp?!? -given this was my first Autocamp experience I was surprised at the loudness of the ac in the airstream. I needed noise cancellation headphones while the ac was turned on. -I would strongly advise Autocamp to pave the car arrival and parking areas. There was so much dust in the air every time a car came and left. My car had a solid 1-2mm of dust when we departed home from the camp. I washed my car right away when I got home. Tomorrow I'll vacuum the inside and wipe all inside surfaces. -one last note, perhaps a carwash voucher to a carwash chain? Just a thought. Would I stay again? Well, yes. My experience was overall positive and part of doing something new is adapting to new surroundings. My dog had a great time as well. The airstreams are close together but everyone seemed respectful of sound level and giving each other privacy.

Yelp
We stayed in a bunk bed cabin and had an amazing time. DISCLAIMER: I am not an outdoorsy person hence my preference for a bunk bed cabin. PRO: Autocamp included a lot of amenities like paper plates, grilling supplies, location located near stores and restaurants. Lots of EV charging spots. The mini fridge in the room is big enough for left overs but a lot of groceries; think dorm room still fridge. CON: For the bunk bed cabins, no closets or places to hang anything! If have wet swimsuits or towels, only 1 towel rack in the bathroom. The AC in the room is very loud.

Yelp
Our stay here was incredibly disappointing, especially given how expensive it was. We had specifically requested an Airstream with shade, but were instead placed in one with absolutely no cover--fully exposed to the sun from morning until sunset. It was so hot that it was impossible to enjoy any time outside, completely defeating the purpose of a relaxing glamping getaway. We stayed for three nights and asked if we could be moved to another unit, but we were met with a sarcastic "we're completely full" and zero effort to offer any kind of solution. We tried again, hoping to move for the last two nights, but were again told they were fully booked. Strangely, on the second day, we saw several guests checking out--so clearly a move could have been possible if the staff had cared enough to try. The Airstream itself was dirty when we arrived--cups and cutlery had grime on them, the couch had noticeable stains, and the entire unit could have used a good deep clean. Water pressure was poor, and overall the unit felt neglected. A simple power wash and proper housekeeping could have made a world of difference. The woman at the front desk with long blonde hair, glasses, and tattoos on both arms--was incredibly unprofessional. She was cold, sarcastic, and made us feel like an inconvenience any time we asked a question. Definitely not the welcoming atmosphere you'd expect from a glamping resort. She and another female staff with short, dark hair seemed very disinterested with their jobs. Other than those two, the rest of the staff we met there were okay. The grounds were also disappointing. Everything was dusty and dry, with little to no landscaping. It triggered my skin asthma and made being outside uncomfortable. The entire place looked far less appealing than advertised--more like a dusty lot than a premium getaway. Overall, we felt completely ripped off. This place did not deliver on its promises and was nowhere near worth the price. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing or enjoyable glamping experience.

Yelp
We were genuinely excited for our stay at AutoCamp -- the idea of unwinding in a modern Airstream after a full day in Sequoia National Park sounded like the perfect adventure. Unfortunately, the actual experience fell short of expectations. We arrived in the evening to a jam-packed parking lot with minimal signage. Parking was a challenge from the start -- surprisingly limited for the number of units on the property -- and we were charged an extra fee for it, along with amenities like WiFi. Oddly, there was no information in the Airstream or check-in materials about how to access the WiFi. Thankfully, Verizon cell service was strong, so no need to call the Front Desk. The Airstream itself was clean and nicely outfitted -- comfortable bed, large bathroom, Apple TV, Bluetooth speakers, mini fridge, and microwave. We paid extra for a unit near the river, which turned out to be worth it, as the rest of the property is basically a hot expanse of dirt with little shade or scenery. Some units looked especially exposed, with no trees or natural charm. AutoCamp has a cute concept and definitely has potential, but for the price point and added fees, we expected a more. Great idea -- just not quite there yet.

Yelp
Daytime staff is rude and slow . Evening staff was very helpful. We checked in on Monday August 4th and checked out Tuesday August 5th Also at 670/- a night location and amenities are not a good value 350/& per night would have been a better rate. We had stayed at autocamp Russian River and that stay was worth every penny.

Yelp
This is our second trip to AutoCamp. We had a great time at the Joshua Tree site and came to try out the newest on at Sequoia. Overall the camp site is neat and well organized. It's next to a river so you can hear the river streams. The two queen bed cabins offer a bunk bed and two queen beds which suits us (a party of 4) better than the airstream with only one Queen Bed and a sofa bed. The downside about the cabin is that it doesn't have a kitchenette nor does it have a table inside. If you plan on cooking or grilling, it's hard to wash in the cabin restroom sink and you'll need to prepare all the cooking tools, utensils, plates, pans etc. The airstreams have a kitchenette.

Yelp
Clean and unique "glamping" experience nestled in a valley by Sequoia National park. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Our lodging was clean and very modern, bathroom was spacious with surprisingly luxe amenities for the location. The view is gorgeous with a pool on site as well. Breakfast options were limited but everything was tasty, there's also the option to cook for yourself with the provided fire pit and kitchen utensils. Very unique and one of a kind experience, highly reccomend!

Krista C.

Yelp
Overall, I would say my experience was fair. We stayed here in April for part of our Honeymoon. We arrived around 3:30 and our room was still not ready - which I suppose is okay as check in usually isn't until 4. However Hilton properties are usually good about having rooms ready early. I paid using Hilton honors points, so I can't speak to the value of this place. Be aware that when using your points, you will be placed in the cabin closest to the entrance/parking lot. You will not be close to the river at all. Thankfully car noise wasn't an issue. Our room was very clean when we checked in. The floor got dusty quick from us walking in and out. I would recommend slippers or socks when walking around otherwise your feet will get really gross. Showers were what I expected. Always had hot water. I would also recommend buying firewood at the convenience store across the street as they have it for 1/3rd of what auto camp was selling it for. In addition, I recommend bringing your own s'mores too. Otherwise you will pay $20 for only 4 s'mores that were nasty. I didn't even finish 1. And bring your own breakfast too unless you like dry granola. They have food and other little items for sale at the club house. Other than that, its exactly was what was advertised. Everyone seemed to be having a good time and it was something unique. Proximity to the national park was amazing and probably the most important thing.

Cortney B.

Yelp
Very fun glamping experience. Highly recommend the vista airstream, the river views are stunning! About an hour and 15 min drive to the main sight seeing sites in Sequoia National Park. Down sides: a layer of bugs along the surface of the pool, the food in their kitchen is almost certainly just microwaved and we all had tummy aches multiple times after eating there. I'd bring more of our own food next time. The poor staff were very hot, either broken or no ac in the lobby. We were glad to have our cooler because the mini fridges are very mini!

Yelp
Super cute! We scored a great deal for one night in a double queen bunk room. Pool was great! Kids loved making smores on our fire pit. Only issues were loud AC & full trashcan outside cabins. Great glamping experience.

Yelp
AutoCamp Sequoia: A Disappointing Juneteenth Weekend - Power Outage, Spoiled Food & Poor Management As big fans of AutoCamp (we've loved Russian River and Zion!), our recent stay at AutoCamp Sequoia was a huge letdown. What was supposed to be a relaxing Juneteenth weekend turned into a frustrating ordeal due to a prolonged power outage and incredibly poor guest service. We arrived on June 19th, past check-in, with groceries to cook for two nights. Staff immediately told us there was no power and wouldn't be until 4:30 PM, yet we couldn't even access our Airstream. We finally got in around 5 PM, put our groceries in the fridge with ice, and headed to the park, already hours behind schedule. Returning at 9 PM, we discovered the power was still out. All our groceries had spoiled - a complete waste of money and left us without food. We couldn't shower or use the toilets as all pumps needed power. Staff offered no real help or compensation, and management was nowhere to be found. They didn't even proactively contact the power company; another guest had to call and learned power wouldn't be back until morning (it finally returned around 11 PM). The lack of communication was infuriating. No call, text, or email warning us about the outage beforehand. If we'd known, we wouldn't have bought groceries! When we checked out, after we had to inquire, they initially offered a measly $35 amenity fee waiver from our $500+ stay. After much back and forth, they "agreed" to a 20% discount on the first night. They refused to give us manager contact info, promising someone would reach out. It's been three days, and no one has contacted us, and our credit card was still charged the full amount! This is unacceptable. Beyond the power issue, the site felt dustier with more bugs than other locations. The Airstream itself was noisy, and felt cramped, and unloading luggage from distant parking with tiny wagons was a chore in the heat. What was supposed to be a nice vacation turned into wasted time, money (spoiled food!), and endless waiting. AutoCamp Sequoia is poorly managed and made false promises. This experience has significantly damaged our view of the AutoCamp brand. Steer clear unless you're prepared for unexpected disruptions and a lack of support.

Yelp
Let me start by saying, I'm not a big camper. If you're staying here, ask for one of the spaces on the fringe of the park, by the river. Beautiful setting, good location, thankfully, there are several "Mom & Pop" restaurants near by. About 10 minutes from the park (Sequoia). Get gas before you get there. It was at least a dollar - 2 dollars per gallon higher than in Fresno. And speaking of being gouged...prepare to pay 8 dollars for a 6 pack of soda, $40 for a pizza, etc. The airstream we stayed in was a decent size, and newer. There's a pool, no spa. A spa would've been nice. It was an ok experience, but once was enough for me. Dust, dirt & bugs everywhere. I guess I just don't get the whole camping thing. I'd opt for a hotel any day.
