Without doubt, the worst pint I've ever had. Was like drinking a pint of Fairy liquid. We told the waiter that both our beers tasted (overpoweringly) of soap. He sniffed them, announced that they don't use soap (!), shrugged his shoulders and walked off. LOL.

Google
Pleasant Belleville icon with all age customers and a professional staff... Belleville born Edith Piaf supposed to have sung here at young age...wonder if the hipster clientele, normally operative with a historical awareness that doesn’t go further than the last consumed veggie burger, ever heard of her :)

Typically French bistro bar on the corner of a main drag and side street. The exterior allows for some interesting people watching, coming and going from the city to the suburbs. The service was quick and professional.

Don't bother. The Cocktails are awful, sugar with color for 8€.The staff dont know their own menu and keep you waiting. Not even a nice view.

Google
Cheap beer and wine. It was a small glass of wine though.

I think it’s better to sit outside and look at the street and people. The view inside is not pretty. But the staff and the drinks are fine.

General vibe was disdain. Beers seemed good. I had I E and it was excellent. There was a 10 euro minimum and my broken french and their broken english resulted in me paying 10 euro for a 7 euro beer. That would be cool if this place was, but I feel like they have tried to find the one non beautiful part of Paris to sit and have a drink.

To the bartender who helped me look for my wedding ring only to find out it was in my pocket all of the time: I owe you and will always owe you! Apart from that, every visit is special, the vibe of the place is really friendly and wholesome, it's a must if you are looking for a place with a real parisian spirit.

Yelp
Cool spot for grabbing drinks and just taking in the over-all atmosphere. As you have prob seen from the pics, this place is pretty unique and very hipster : there is graffiti everywhere, and old destroyed (often ripped up) posters decorate the cafe and give it a really unique, grungy vibe. The outdoor terrasse seating is awesome, and when it's nice out, they extend the seating to the graffiti tagged alleyway on the side of the cafe. This is THE place to be for a drink when it's sunny and you're in Belleville. Personally, I love coming here before and after eating dumplings at the restaurant raviolis further up the rue de Belleville. Happy hour, which lasts pretty late, gets you a 4€ pint of Stella, or 6€ pint of 1664 blanche (or the other beers on tap, usually leffe) or cocktails, for example. Very reasonable prices for Paris and cool staff. Very eclectic and unpretentious crowd - chill people come here.

Yelp
The neighborhood is on the ghetto side so a pissy smell lingers in the air as you drink your coffee. The coffee itself was good but not quite enough to take you away from the stench of passersby. Super crowded in the evenings and at night too. Did you know Edith Piaf sang here when she was alive? =) Overall I liked the place but not as much as others I've been to in Paris. Because of it's historical importance I give it 3 stars. =D

Yelp
Wow. Never in my life have I been so disgusted with customer service. Last night, I went with a large group of friends and some of us unknowingly sat just outside of the terrace in the small street next door. I completely understand that can be a nuisance for neighbors, but we were completely unaware as there was no gate, sign, or even curb. Halfway into our pints, the owner comes running out screaming at us, lifts the chairs up while we are still sitting (mine still had my handbag hanging on the back) and hurls them against the wall. He continued to yell and insult us, saying that if we don't like the rules, we can go elsewhere, when we were trying to move our table in and making efforts to fit everyone within the confines of the restaurant. I understand this can be an issue for bars, to not disrupt the neighborhood, but that was certainly not the way to go about it. While he was yelling at us, another employee comes out and proceeds to berate us as well. It was starting to be clear that these were just jerks looking for an excuse to fight and argue. But seriously, with customers? That is just gross. I was shocked beyond words. Never in my life have I witnessed such atrocious, aggressive behavior from people in the service industry. It was all I could do to keep my wine in the glass and not throw it in one of their faces. For shame. What an utter lack of decency and respect for customers. The way we were treated and ousted was despicable. It is fair to say we will not be returning in the near future.

Yelp
Super crowded, super bobo, this is a great place to grab a pint, with lots of outdoor seating,

Yelp
Yep, it's a hipster bar. I don't care much for the idea of people-watching, but my French is questionable at best, so if you're the quiet type, this place works for that too. Get a couple of the cheap drinks in you to overcome any hesitation you had about shouting said questionable French over the din of the crowds. If you're feeling adventurous, try the Picon biere -- a beer with a shot of their local herbal liquer, Amer Picon, which is basically impossible to find in the US.

Yelp
Fun place to people watch and eavesdrop. Cheaper drinks and slightly saner crowd than Café Cheri down the block. Hipster haven. It's key flaw? Barely audible music. This is a bar, people. Get with the program!

Yelp
The rudest service I've ever had while living in Paris. The waiter, rather than asking us to move because he wanted to stack tables where we were, snatched our unfinished (and paid for) drinks out of our hands and then yelled at us when we protested. I thought he was going to pick a fight with my friends- I had to yell back at him to get him to leave us alone. Horrible.

Yelp
Really lovely place to find the gritty, artistic atmosphere that drew me to the city in the first place. And inexpensive too!

Yelp
colorful clientele. great feeling. not cleaned up, a little rough around the edges, but not in a frightening way. really enjoyed my pastis. also enjoyed getting out of the bits of paris that I found a bit too chic, this was a breath of fresh air, even if the air didn't smell all that good.
