24 Hours in the Plateau and Mile End: What to Eat and Drink | Eater Montreal

"A long-time, family-run Mile End Lebanese restaurant (around 40 years), Aux Lilas serves plates of mezze like hummus, falafel and kibbeh alongside tasty meats, and is a great spot to sip Lebanese wines or anise-based arak while enjoying traditional fare." - Tim Forster

28 Classic Restaurants Every Montrealer Must Try | Eater Montreal

"There are almost no Lebanese restaurants in Mile End — perhaps because Aux Lilas has been quietly excelling at that game for almost 40 years, with crispy kibbeh, herby tabbouleh, and silky smooth dips." - Tim Forster

2 Dozen of Montreal’s Best Middle Eastern Restaurants | Eater Montreal

"Mile End Lebanese restaurant Aux Lilas may be small, but it holds its own among the surrounding dining options through a blend of history and charisma. It’s been on Parc Avenue since 1980, founded by chef-owner Christine Farhood, and takes particular pride in providing a warm welcome, tasteful music, and a well-curated list of Lebanese wines. Oh, and its website even includes a few recipes." - Karin Murray-Bergquist

Had dinner there last night. The food was wonderful as was the service. This is not what you're used to at "fast food" Lebanese places. This is truly authentic, fresh and well prepared, home made excellence. We look forward to returning.

I’ve been coming to this Lebanese gem for over 25 years, and it’s still as good as ever. The food is fresh, honest, and consistently delicious, portions are generous. The lovely owner always makes you feel welcome, and the quiet, relaxed atmosphere is perfect for conversation.

This was such a great find it felt like very authentic Lebanese food and the service was really wonderful. I ate in the back patio and I felt like I was in Europe. The food was excellent. I would definitely come back.

This place is a gem hidden in plain sight. The service was amazing, the food was magnificent, and the ambiance was on point! If you’ve crossed this mysterious purple window place before on Du Parc and wondered about going in, this is your signal to come in and have an amazing meal!

Cozy little place with homey food. The salads were exceptionally fresh and crunchy. What really stood out for me were the baba ghanoush and hummus dip. Will definitely return to try other dishes! Their menu says that they've been in business since 1980, but the owner confirmed with us that it's actually since 1978!

My friends and I ordered a bottle of wine, and the waitress broke the cork repeatedly when opening it. She told us that she’d continue opening the bottle in the kitchen, and she returned to pour the wine into our glasses, which were full of cork particles. It wasn’t drinkable, so we let her know, and she literally took one of our knives and scooped out a big piece of cork, wiped it on her shirt and redipped the knife in to do that again, trying to assure us it was fine. When we told the waitress we didn’t want the wine, she got pissed. While they eventually agreed to take it back, the energy was incredible hostile all evening with her slamming the cutlery and plates on our table. Honestly it’s one of the weirdest restaurant experiences I’ve had. But the food was top tier. Would not recommend dining in.

The food was balanced and delicious. The athmosphere was good until the service and the waiter's bad mood put a damper on things. I don't think i'll go back.

Yelp
The most amazing authentic Lebanese food we've had. Family run operation, so service is a bit slow but the food more than makes up for it. Every dish we got was just delicious, the flavors were so fresh.

Yelp
First impressions: cosy and family-owned, authentic. We experienced very customized and attentive service by the owner who patiently answered our questions and offered great suggestions. We had the vegetarian mezze and all the dishes were super tasty (especially the falafels and the baba ganouj). For dessert, we had a custard with pistachio and rose water: it was amazing, very flavourful and not too sweet (and imagine our delight when we found out it was on the house, wow!) Highly recommended.

Yelp
Great food, kind owner/server. A little pricy but would definitely recommend, it's worth it!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food with that home-made Middle Eastern taste. The server/owner was very gracious and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The Fattoush salad had wonderful dressing, and both humus and baba ghanouj were delicious. Fried cheese (sanbousek?) was divine, and the Chicken Lilas very tasty was well. Both the desert, a kind of pudding and baklava, were 10 out of 10. Don't miss this neighborhood gem that is small and cosy, very clean and inviting, and very reasonable prices as well.
