Where to start? Despite telling the restaurant in advance that I wanted a vegetarian meal, they served an amuse bouche of seafood, something I never eat. There was acknowledgement that a 'mistake' had been made, but no replacement or apology. Then the starter arrived: a mix of tomatoes and strong-tasting fish! Although I do occasionally eat fish, this was inedible to me and I asked for it to be replaced. The replacement was a hastily thrown together and plonked down plate of raw tomatoes on a slice of toast. It was an entirely unacceptable dish to serve in a fine dining establishment and, frankly, the chef should be ashamed. Meanwhile, the staff exuded a sniffy arrogance throughout. The other dishes (and the wine) were very decent, yet were rarely exceptional, and the overall experience was a hugely disappointing one. Verdict: this restaurant in no way deserves a Michelin star.
