Great coffee shop! I got an almond milk latte and the breakfast biscuit (which is deliciously smothered in honey and butter). The latte was perfect and exactly what I needed. The biscuit was buttery and flaky and much better than those things you get in a can. Will visit again next time I come to Detroit!

I've been consistently impressed by Avalon, and I'm glad that they've opened a cafe in New Center.

Kind of pricey for what you get. Good eats if you're into a healthy twist to a cafe. The outdoor seating was relaxing and clean: my 9y/o daughter was treated to a piece of Chocolate cake for her birthday from the cashier. (she was also given an extra cookie) friendly service/ good 🍞 bread/ close to downtown. It wasn't quite lunch and yet there was a long line with just one cashier.

It's great that you can get a good cup of coffee at this location once again. It's a fairly open space to either work on your laptop or have a small meeting. It's not too noisy. There's a small meeting room off to the side as well. Bathrooms are down the hall, which is a bit less convenient, but not a deal breaker. I'm looking forward to warmer weather since this cafe has great access to the adjoining New Center Park.

The sandwiches here are great. They are fresh and the right size for an entire meal. The service is quick and the tuna sandwich is my favorite so far. If you need lunch during the work day, add this to your list! Also, relaxing atmosphere if you decide to dine in.

They finally started to put up a sign saying they are out of everything. So now you don't have to wait in line 15 minutes while the hostess busses tables instead of taking orders.

A great breakfast/lunch spot. Friendly staff and clean restaurant. Quick service. The option to dine inside or outside. I had the Turkey club one visit and the bacon biscuit another visit, both were extremely delicious and filling. And the sea salt and chocolate cookie 😍😍

This is always a solid choice for breakfast on a Saturday when walking downtown or just starting your day. (Well you could go there Mon-Fri too) i love getting the Bacon egg and cheese(cheddar) biscuit with a cappuccino. While they also have some breads that is not this location's focus. It is more of a cafe than a bakery. There is a great park right next door that is open late Spring-early fall. Definitely worth a visit.
