Ava’s is a true gem in Rehoboth. Great food, drinks, atmosphere and friendly service make this spot a must when in town and looking for something more than your typical beach or boardwalk fare. ⭐️ of the show is their Detroit style pizzas! The dough is so soft and airy on the inside, and the crust has the perfect char and crisp. The sauce has a great balance of sweetness and acidity. Meatballs are another must here! They’re firm to the fork, but they melt in your mouth. *Pro tip* - Dip the crust from your Detroit pie in the sauce of the meatballs, doesn’t get any better than that! The bolognese was rich and creamy, good flavor and hearty dish. Only downside was the pasta for me. Not sure if it’s the quality of it or if because it sat for quite a long time. Our meal took a very long time to come out and my dish was barely luke warm, and that was the pasta on the bottom of the bowl. Decided to overlook that misstep because overall Ava’s is a great neighborhood spot that should be on your list when in the area.

We had a most excellent experience here. Awesome food, service and atmosphere. Also a nice wine selection. I believe there's a very positive, chill vibe which, in part, is due to the exceptional people working here. The manager, Tyler, was very engaged and hands-on, delivering dishes, talking with guests and supporting the staff. We had the meatballs (OMG!!) and the spinach dip appetizers. Never had fried parmesan bowtie pasta but it was delicious! Had the Meatball Breeze thin pizza ( meatballs/spinach/sun-dried tomatoes ) - so tasty and fresh! All of their food is from scratch and the flavors confirm that. We can't wait to come back with friends to share this wonderful experience with them.

I love pizza. I don’t care if it’s Neapolitan pizza, NY Style pizza, Chicago deep dish, or this amazing Detroit Style Pepperoni pizza that Ava’s has. I stop in all the time to get one. Most often it’s for a to go order but we have also eaten in a few times. The staff is great. Very friendly and attentive. Food comes out quickly whether you are dining in or getting it to go. They have a great variety of pizza and food options. So if the Detroit style pizza isn’t for you, I am sure they have something else that will satisfy you.

Google
Ava Pizza and Wine Bar in downtown Rehoboth is a fantastic culinary find, offering a delightful dining experience that goes beyond your typical pizza joint. The restaurant boasts a great downtown location, making it easily accessible and a perfect spot to grab a bite after exploring Rehoboth. The interior is very airy and inviting, with a comfortable mix of bar and table seating, catering to various preferences. What truly elevates the experience at Ava is the staff. Everyone we encountered was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, even striking up good conversations that added to the welcoming atmosphere. Their genuine enthusiasm for the menu was evident and much appreciated. Speaking of the menu, it offers a great variety, ensuring there's something to please every palate. We started with the Caesar salad, and it was absolutely delicious, featuring a homemade dressing that truly made it stand out. However, the undisputed star of the show at Ava Pizza and Wine Bar is their Detroit Style Pizza. This isn't just good pizza; it's exceptional. We tried the Mediterranean, and it was "off the hook" – piled high with fresh, vibrant vegetables, an excellent assortment of cheeses, and a dough that was both light and incredibly crispy. It's clear that high-quality ingredients and meticulous preparation are at the heart of their offerings. While Ava Pizza and Wine Bar might not be a budget-friendly option like a quick slice from Gotto's, the slight bump in price is absolutely worth it for the superior quality of ingredients and the expert preparation. If you're looking for an elevated pizza experience in Rehoboth, Ava Pizza and Wine Bar is an absolute must-visit.

Google
The meat ball pizza was great! Loved the flavor. The Shrimp Diavolo had a great flavor. The pasta was nicely cooked. We loved the atmosphere. I love how they accommodate the side of bacon order for our daughter. Highly recommended!

Stopped in here between lunch and dinner for a drink and a snack. Got there just about right when it opened at 4pm. No reservation. It was empty, and we were sat at a high top table. As we ate, people flowed in for dinner and some sat at the bar. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Our drinks arrived very quickly, and our food came out fast. Their "famous" meatball was really good, and we enjoyed the mozzarella and tomatoes. Drinks were also tasty. Kind of wish we had tried there for a full dinner!

Google
While i think the pizza is pretty good here, the takeout procedure never fails to shock me. Today the pizza is now going on 30 minutes delay from when they said it would be ready and it’s still not here. i feel like this is something that is really the fault of management. If they can’t deliver the pizza in a timely fashion, they should level with you rather than tell you to show up in 45 minutes and still not get the pizza after waiting for 30 minutes. It’s pretty disappointing. Still waiting….

Yelp
We had a thoroughly enjoyable dinner at Ava's. The Detroit-style pizza is unique and very good. Service was welcoming and efficient. The atmosphere is cozy (we're here in January). We look forward to many more meals at Ava's!

Brian Y.

Yelp
Ava's is always good. Been there a lot and never disappointed. Good service and quality food is the norm.

Yelp
Went here the other night with some friends and it seemed to be pretty busy which is a good sign. Our waitress was delightful and we started with our cocktails, the pours we felt were on the light side. Started with some appetizers, Caesar salad, bbq shrimp and a couple of meatballs. The Caesar salad could have used more dressing (the waitress was busy so I never got extra dressing), the shrimp were ok, lacking on the seasoning for me, and the others said they liked the meatballs. ( I didn't try them, I should have). My entree was a total flop. Ordered the chicken Marsala with spinach and pasta. The mushrooms weren't even cooked, no seasoning (no salt on the table), no sauce, for the chicken or pasta and the spinach was half cooked with nothing...It was pretty bad...I couldn't even eat it. I tried others pizzas, a deep dish (2) and an onion tart...I guess pizza is the way to go. I do give credit to the manager on duty who came over and took it away after we explained it to him. He did the right thing and took it off the check and gave us 1 coupon for a free pizza next time. We will go back and sit at the bar .

Yelp
Great ambiance, friendly service, Good selection of appetizers, salads, pizzas and pasta entrees. Decent wines too

Yelp
First, we had to wait 15 minutes and we had a reservation. The food was just OK. Appetizers came out cold. And then we ordered cocktails, and when the waitress suggested a certain brand, we accepted it. Not knowing it would be an 87% markup. We got charged $89 for three drinks. That's even more than you pay in midtown Manhattan. We will never come back to this place. Beware.

Yelp
Last week I had a rez for 4 people at the a rehoboth beach location. We showed OnTime but had to wait close to 35 mins. Food was fair. Today we decided to do takeout. Was delayed by 40 mins. from when it was due. Food was fair. While I was waiting I heard similar stories from others. This restaurant is not worth the wait.

Larry F.

Yelp
Excellent service and pizza Comfortable atmosphere and pleasant servers Monday night special in the off season is a terrific value

Renee S.

Yelp
Great pizza and wine selection. We had the Detroit style which was a lot lighter than your standard Sicilian pizza.
google avatar

Lindsay L.

Yelp
When we came, we didn't have a reservation and it was pretty busy. We got seated within 15 mins though. The appetizer the threw of us ordered were the meatball sliders. Man they are huge! Great taste and really enjoyed these, I give these 5/5 stars. The pizza we ordered was a Margarita pizza and it really wasn't anything special for a thin crust. It was good but I've had better. I give the pizza 3/5 stars. The service was very good, the waitress I forget her name but she was pregnant and super on top of us making sure we were taken care of. It's a nice place to dine but a little pricey for what we got. They say that everything is made "in house" but I wasn't wow'd to give this place 5/5 stars. Nice little place to stop by if you're in the area looking for quick Italian bite.

Yelp
I was looking for best Detroit Style in Rehoboth Beach. Found a few reviews and Ava's seemed to be the best choice. 20 minute wait on a Friday night 4th of July weekend. Service was great. Nice wine and cocktail selections. If meatballs are on the starters menu, SOP is to try them. Glorious. New Orleans shrimp appetizer, also good. Detroit Style was outstanding. Perfect crust, toppings, sauce and cheese almost perfect.

Mark S.

Yelp
I presume the eat-in experience is pretty good, given the reviews. The takeout situation, however, is quite poor. We are staying around the corner and chose Ava's because we could walk to pick it up. We ordered online and got an estimate of 80 mins. OK, we thought. They must be busy and it must be good. I went to pick it up, noticed the restaurant was cute, the bar had a few people, but it was far from packed. The hostess went to the kitchen, came back, and told me my order would be ANOTHER 15-20 mins. At this point, it was late and we were hungry, so I went home, poured a big glass of wine, and waited to pick it up. My wife went this time because I was hangry. She returned with the food. The place is 600 feet from our door. IT was cold. Are you kidding me? The Detroit pizza was, I don't know, I guess "ok" but mostly just bread/crust - and, again, not hot. Could have used more cheese, sauce, and toppings. More like a focaccia with some pizza essence than actual pizza. My advice is to close the takeout business. We've had nothing but great meals in Rehobeth, but this was a fail. Seems like they do ok with in-house, but the takeout experience is a debacle. Sadly, I don't plan on giving them another chance. Too many good places to take that risk again.

Yelp
Dinner last night. Love that the have remained on toast- reservations apps. Great pizza especially the Mediterranean, the best Caesar salad in Rehoboth. Miss bartender Mark.
google avatar

Larry S.

Yelp
Great Detroit pizza! We sat near pizza makers who also gave us a great show! The meatball and pasta here is also good. Never had a bad meal. Make a reservation if you can.
google avatar

Eddy L.

Yelp
The Meatball Hoagie is amazing. And don't pass up the Tomato Bisque Soup. All hand made by hand. And so incredibly delicious!!!!! Make sure to eat here when you're in Rehoboth Delaware!!!!

Colleen M.

Yelp
Party of four we caught the tail end of happy hour before the show at Cap Rehoboth really enjoyed Treasure our server

Yelp
Went with friends everyone's dinner looked yummy . We shared a pepperoni pizza and a Detroit style as well as a meatball . I really liked the Detroit style and would get that again - the meatball was fine but then I'm Italian descent so not the best I've ever had. The pepperoni pizza was underwhelming . The service was very good especially with our large group - Thanks Karisa!

Yelp
If you're in the mood for pizza and some Italian food, Ava's is the spot to go. Located one street off the boardwalk, it's easy to get out and back in to the beach. We ordered: * Pappardelle Bolognese - Getting bolognese at other restaurants can often be bland and uninspiring. Here at Ava's, we got the opposite! The meat sauce was extremely flavorful and the pasta was cooked great. Great portion size! * Detroit Pepperoni with Sausage - Great Detroit style pizza with a perfectly crunch crust and just the right amount of depth. The cheese, pepperoni and sausage blend in perfectly to create a cohesive bite. Maybe because we went during the off-season, service was extremely quick and the waitress was extremely attentive. They were quick to get us a high chair (modern high chair for all the parents - win!). A unique feature of Ava's that stuck out to me was they gave each table room to breath. It did not feel claustrophobic, and was actually able to break bread and converse! If you want pizza, but not boardwalk pizza, walk the 5 minutes to Ava's!

Suzanne L.

Yelp
Delicious pizza and the best Caesar salad! Friendly, efficient service, nice wine selection and reasonably priced!

Rebecca G.

Yelp
Pizza good. Pleasant service Good bolognese Parking may be a problem bec it's on the street

Ruth G.

Yelp
The Detroit style pizza is delicious! Their pasta dishes are also excellent. The Caesar salad is amazing as well!!! The meatballs are great!
google avatar

S D.

Yelp
If you want a tiny pizza (9") and a beyond tiny salad for high prices, this is the place for you. For a to- go personal pizza and beyond disappointing salad... $28. Pizza is not that goood. Cornmeal crust and overcooked I think im done supporting restaurants

Lori J.

Yelp
We had an excellent quick bite for happy hour. My boyfriend enjoyed his cocktail and we split the meatball sliders. Basically a huge meatball sub with focaccia! They have half priced starters for happy hour and some drink specials. It was slow when we were there at 4pm on a weekday so service was quick.

John G.

Yelp
It's was a busy night last night in Rehoboth, the rain moved in and there was a bit of a crush. We did not have reservation for a party of 4. Thats the backdrop. Ava's was way way short staffed. Many people were trying to get seated yet many tables sat un bused for 1/2 hour. The host was very attentive yet frantic. We also found out that the bartender was new and struggling. Mark had been an excellent bartender for years, yet we found out was no longer there. The food was fine, what you think- pizza and pasta at a good price. Ava's was always my go-to fast casual Italian, but given their staffing issues I'm not sure that I'll be back.

Tori S.

Yelp
Get the Detroit style pizza. You will not regret it. I usually choose round/thin crust, and tried both. Ceasar salad was also a standout. Had a long wait even with a reservation, but our server handled everything very well and was very friendly. The environment was modern and clean.

J P.

Yelp
Excellent pizza, sandwiches, and dinners. We ordered several pies and they were all perfect. They're on the smaller side so if you're feeding a crowd, order extra. Will absolutely be back again!
google avatar

Michael W.

Yelp
Went there on a Saturday night and walked right in. Staff were very friendly. We ordered the Caesar salad , mamas meatballs, 3 Detroit style pizzas and 1 thin style . Everything was delicious. Enjoyed the Detroit style a lot since you don't find it everywhere. They have a great wine selection too. Deserts were limited. Their specials during the week looked great.
google avatar

Tim M.

Yelp
We just had a wonderful time at Ava's! Our waiter Gavin was just so wonderful. Great food, great service! 5 stars all around!
google avatar

Jim M.

Yelp
This place is poorly run. Clown show staff. Take away orders are consistently late. Food is sitting out. Service is amongst the worst I've had anywhere in the US. No attempt to make it right. Just shrug shoulders and say it's the computer system. Fire the manager. This place sux!

P C.

Yelp
The pizza was ok. It is much better in the off season. The service at the bar was disappointing. Mark the bartender was in his own world. Not sure what he had going on, but it sure wasn't paying attention to customers.

Steve S.

Yelp
We all had Detroit Style Pizza. Crust was terrific and the sauce was good. Was it Detroit Style NO. More like Sicilian. What was missing was the Wisconsin Brick Cheese that made the pizza famous. You can substitute Amish Butter Kaus as it's close, but Mozzarella and Provolone while good does not deliver the same taste. This, we were disappointed in that regard but would go back and try other items on the menu

Andrew B.

Yelp
Food is great. That's about where the positive aspects end. Our large family party of 12 had shown up for a reservation in the wine room, as we have two elderlr parents that needed regular seating, but were told that that they could only accommodate us with high tops. First major mistake. I showed up late due to a long business meeting about an hour after my family ordered food and it still had not arrived. Food arrives and my order is the only one not served. I am very hungry by this time and told another minute and the waiter disappeared. Over 5 min. later I had to get up from the table to find the waiter and ask where my food went. Amazingly, it was suddenly ready. Comped my meal only after complaining to the manager. Service all around of a mess. Would only recommend takeout. Avoid eating at the restaurant.

Yelp
My favorite Detroit pizza and Caesar salad. We go every time we come into town and it never disappoints! Sign up for the rewards and you get $25 on your birthday!

Yelp
Ava's: Walking in- A very rustic and nice atmosphere, and I feel at home when I walk in. Service- The caesar salad came out really fast, Meal- The caesar salad was well dressed and the croutons were crunchy and well baked, making for a delicious salad. The pig pen Detroit was amazing, the different meats made for a delicious pie. The Mediterranean pizza was delicious, we've had it 3 times and they've all been amazing. Ava's is our favorite pizza place in Rehoboth, and it's a must-go anytime we come down. Stop by Ava's and give them the same support we give them!

Joe D.

Yelp
Outstanding server -her name is Taylor. Superb. Attentive, personable and efficient. I rate her a five stars and more 6-7-8, etc.

Charles N.

Yelp
Don't bother going here anymore. They've gutted the menu for the summer to focus on the typical cheap stuff they make a high margin on. Only six mains. Gone are the chicken marsala, piccata, milanesa. Sad day for what had been one of our favorites. Restaurant was half empty at 8pm on a Friday night. People rate it with their feet.

Alice T.

Yelp
Pizza was really good and the service was excellent! Our waitress was the best! We were there till closing!
google avatar

Heather C.

Yelp
We had a great time having dinner here. We enjoyed the wine and watching Bob Ross on the tvs. The appetizers and entrees were mediocre. The pizza was good brick oven pizza. The best part of the meal was the grilled peach salad! That was phenomenal.
google avatar

Janet P.

Yelp
Tested a few different treats on another visit to this wonderful place. Lively bar scene with super fun staff in the background, we sat next to the large street windows/garage doors. Imagine how nice it will be when they are open in the summer! We shared a salad, appetizer, and pizza. The green beans with prosciutto are amazing!! The special pizza called to us: white, peppers, roasted garlic, goat cheese, greens. So thin and crispy!
google avatar

Divinely D.

Yelp
Honestly if your craving Pizza, Avas does not disappoint. We were a party of 6 and 4 of us ordered pizza. "Hard to describe the flavor of the Detroit Pizza" Deep dish , literally a mouth party! The combination of homemade light marinara sauce, complimented the light fluffy dough. We also LOVED the light thin crispy white pizza-with added mushrooms and spinach was also amazing, the touch of sea salt complimented the flavors of white cheese blend and olive oil . Super light and just enough crisp in crust . The 3rd pizza sampled was Greek. Delicious as well , maybe my least favorite, basically Greek salad on thin crust . My favorite spot in St. Michael's is also Ava's. 5 star service over all GREAT EXPERIENCE. Highly recommend..

Yelp
Excellent pizza recipe, and excellent execution. Order online for pickup. Walk up to the bar, get the pie, walk out, and eat it! Nuff' said.

Kaila M.

Yelp
the vibe when you walk in is super nice, dim lighting, great seating. the service was quick and every person was sweet. and the food was absolutely incredible.
google avatar

Mia C.

Yelp
We got take out tonight from Ava's because I crave their Detroit pizza! They have the convenience of being able to order online even before they open and it was ready when they said it would be. They put a little bit more sauce on the pizza and it was jist the right amount. I am giving 4 stars for the ceasar salad being $11 and there was nothing crazy about it. They do have an awesome rewards program and they gave me a $25 voucher that I redeemed for my birthday! Thanks so much, Ava's!!!
google avatar

Donald P.

Yelp
Thank you for your "snappy" response. Very professional! Sorry you feel that way.....
google avatar

Allen B.

Yelp
My wife and I love this place. Hands down the best pizza in the entire cape region. Delicious meatballs. Great service. You can't go wrong with this spot.
google avatar

Diann E.

Yelp
Not sure what took us so long to try this place but we're glad we did. The service was quick and friendly and the food came out fast! No skimping on the pizza toppings and the meatball sliders which we thought would be tiny but they were big! Meatballs had too much oregano (but we're not fans so any is too much for us ;)

Rachel P.

Yelp
I've been to Ava's many times over the past couple years and there's a reason i keep going back! The food is always so good and i can always depend on having a great time there! Servers have always been kind and willing to accommodate. Would definitely recommend!

Carol C.

Yelp
Food was and is always great. The meatballs are outstanding. Totally recommend this restaurant. Our server, Tatyana was excellent and attentive to whatever we needed.

John S.

Yelp
Went to dinner with my wife's family and friends, had early reservation, place was pretty empty on a Saturday evening. Ordered food, felt very rushed and food came out almost immediately, not sure what the hurry was. No complaints about the food, had the Detroit style pizza for the first time, won't be the last, Arugula & Fennel salad was delicious. My brother in law ordered the chicken parm, it came out with very dry pasta so he asked for some additional sauce. My wife and I stayed at their house so I wanted to do the right thing so I went and paid the check (left a generous tip) to show our gratitude to my wife's family. Got home later and looked at the check and noticed the waitress had charged an additional $2 for the extra sauce to put on the DRY PASTA! a $150 check and you have the nerve to charge for extra sauce, shame on them. Ava's has lost 6 customers.

Stephanie F.

Yelp
Cute new place but kitchen is clueless. Wait staff decent but runners are also clueless. Meatball sliders were good but got FF's when we ordered chips and it took 15 min to get the chips. Chicken park was over cooked stay and rock hard. Not sure I'd come back. The chicken balsamic pizza was sloppy and not refreshing or light. Wouldn't come back tight away. Too bad it could have been great.
