Avellino’s NY Style Pizza Decatur

Hands down my favorite pizza place in the Atlanta. The staff is very friendly, it’s right up the block and the pizza is delicious. They also make a really good eggplant parmigiana. Everything is always consistent and a lot of locals come here, lots of regulars that the staff treat like family. The atmosphere is very cozy and a little on the small side in winter. The menu is simple, but a prefer a few things that are done really well to a lot of choices that are so-so. I’ve never been disappointed here, Avellino’s always makes great pizza.

Didn't expect this pizza to be this phenomenal. The caprese salad we got was so well seasoned and the tomatoes were so crisp. The pizza although not round for a large, had an amazing bite with the crust. I can definitely tell that a lot of care and love went into this food.

After living in Connecticut for 32 years, I struggled finding a legitimate pizza place until I found Avelinos’s. So happy to find a place that can cook a NYC style pie!

We just moved to Kirkwood, and thought we’d give Avellinos a try. I’ve heard a lot about it, so I was pretty excited. We are also big pizza fans. My first thought when we got the food was how small it was. We got a basic pizza for $15.00. I’ve had pizza from a lot of specialty pizza restaurants, but I felt like the size did not match the cost. We also got a Caesar salad for $7.00. A Caesar salad is one of the most basic salads you can order. It was the size of a side salad, and very bland. A lot of mixed green lettuce, a lot of store bought croutons, and a sprinkle of cheap Parmesan. Nothing quality about any of these salad ingredients. They clearly don’t even buy Parmesan cheese in blocks and grate it. They just buy cheap bags of pre-cut Parmesan. Based on the salad and pizza side I would have given them a 2, but we didn’t hate the pizza. I would give the pizza a 2.5, but that’s also partially because I don’t like rectangle pizza. The crust is very important to me, and there is not and even ratio of crust to pizza on rectangle. However, the pizza was not bad. It wasn’t the best, but I like thin pizza, and it was well cooked. Upon looking at pictures online I believe that they might have a round pizza, so maybe we’ll give them another shot. Overall, it just just okay. I would have liked it a lot more if the pizza was cheaper, or if the quality had been better. I am happy to pay more for great pizza!

Great friendly staff and delicious pizza! Fore warning, they have an ultra super spicy pizza that is not for the faint hearted...

Great traditional pizza , superior service , small, cozy night spot . I plan on making regular visits . Brittney will make your experience a special one . Her main goal is to make sure you are happy with every part of your experience . Also , great selection of red wines .

Excellent service! I had the pleasure of meeting Shelby, who is absolutely amazing! I only ordered Togo, but she gave me top notch service as if I was dining in. I couldn’t decide which pizza I wanted to choose, because there were so many on the menu that caught my eye. She spoke very highly of the establishment, so much that I must come again and try the other items. I even had the pleasure of meeting the chef, who makes the best lasagna you will ever taste! I MUST add....The tiramisu?! 😙chef kiss. Literally. Melts in your MOUTH! I’m definitely coming back, and enjoying the 1/2 off wine bottles they offer. ❤️

We're new to the area and just discovered this restaurant (Decatur) in the last couple of months. Their food is delicious! Everything is always so fresh. The Greek insalate is superb...so good that even my hubby who doesn't usually eat salad with pizza loved it. Every pizza we've tried was yummy! We love finding unique brands of excellent quality. Bravo!
