Avellino's Pizzeria & Catering

Very small place. Don’t have a lot of pizza variety. Got 2 slices of plain pizza. Person charged me $7.00 and didn’t even warm the pizza. Service is bad. Pizza was extremely dry. Will not go back there.

Avellion's pizza is delicous. My husband is a pizza snob and we found Avellino's and he has been loving it. We used them for an event and they were able to deliver the pizzas to the Garden City Mini Golf Course and everything was perfect. They were on time, the pizza tasted great and great customer service. Will definitely be using them again.

We recently had a luncheon in our unit to celebrate one of our nurses on her retirement. The food was amazing and of the best quality: Cesar salad, sausage and peppers, chicken Parmesan, penne a la vodka, garlic knots, and the best meatballs ever! Everything came fresh and just delish! I'll be ordering for my own family gatherings!

I catered from here for my graduation party. Everything was amazing, all my guests loved the food and asked me where the food was from. We got the food delivered and the guy who came to deliver the food set up everything on the serving table and turned on the gel chafing fuel for us as my dad drank his beer and I was inside getting ready. Thank you so much :)

I'd give this place minus five stars if I could. How can you screw up basic Italian food? Dried out chicken wings, mixed up orders . . . incredible. They consistently overcharge because their staff can't calculate the taxes correctly, much less accurately add up the bill. And as for their "specials," they search for every possible way to refuse to honor them. This has not been a one-time occurrence. There are a million cheap pizzerias to patronize, but this is not one of them. Basta!

Ive been coming here for a few years now and my experience here has always been a good one. The staff are really nice and the food is always good at this location.

I went to Avellino's for lunch. There was nothing for me to eat because I eat a plant-based diet. I would have been good with a marinara slice, or garlic knots, but everything has cheese on it. While my friend had a slice, I had nothing. I'm very disappointed that a restaurant located so close to a university does not have more of a variety. Not looking for much here, just something.

This place does not disappoint, I just found out they deliver so now I can order without having to get charged the uber eats fees. I have a cannoli obsession and the one they have is huge ! They could improve the cannoli packaging.

This is a fantastic old-school pizzeria. We came in for a few slices at lunch time. The owner was super friendly and there was a nice selection of fresh pies. The plain cheese slices were excellent, particularly for those who favor a thinner crust. We also each tried a specialty slice, bbq chicken for me and chicken parm for my wife. They were truly perfect. Definitely worth visiting this place, and a big thanks to the owner.

Been here a handful of times. Pizza is generally good. Staff is polite and helpful. Never say to eat but it look fairly clean and well kept. The salads are pretty filling. There are daily specials that include pizza pies and wings, etc.

Second time ordering here and this time ordered Chicken Bruschetta -perfectly crispy chicken cutlet on top of a light salad with balsamic vinegar, topped with bruschetta (they were not cheap with it). Delicious!! Along with it I also had capellini with meat sauce (you know it's good sauce when you find a bay leaf in there). Overall, I had a great delivery from UberEats and amazing food (in both quality and quantity). I'll be back soon!!

Mixed review. The food is decent for the price especially when they do specials on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. However I've had 2 poor customer service experiences. One time I was overcharged due to confusion with how they price their Tuesday specials. It was less what they did that bothered me but more the reaction (that I should have understood and they were not adjusting the price - in reality they misunderstood my order). Another time when it was buy 1 get 1 half off, they charged me full price for both. I noted this in the store but the kid working there said he didn't know how to issue a credit card refund. I used to be a regular but given these experiences I go elsewhere. I'd recommend to this business that sometimes making the customer happy in certain situations is the best policy especially someone who visits on a regular basis.

Ordered a Sicilian pie and garlic knots through the Uber Eats application for myself and coworkers who were working late. When the order arrived I received a 12 inch pie. I called Avellino's and explained the situation. I was told that the only option was to call Uber. This was not Uber's mistake, I received a completely wrong order. The manager on the phone did not apologize at all for the mistake repeating the only thing to do was get a refund. I understand that ordering through Uber the restaurant does not have access to my delivery information however the way I was spoken to was not the way a customer should be spoken to. No apology was given for a mistake made on the restaurant's end.

Out for a walk this evening and had a craving for a slice. Walked into Avellino's to see what they were offering. Staff was super friendly. Plenty of choices but I ended up going for the classic regular slice. It was decent. Next time I would try something else. Restaurant was clean and as I mentioned, the staff was kind. Will be a repeat customer.

I'm new to the area, and while doing work in K and I's new home, I became starving. We decided to go for pizza and wanted to try a new spot (we've had pizza before from another nearby place). We ordered a pie, half plain half white, and 3 Sicilian slices...don't worry, it wasn't just us two eating!! The guy told us it would be 45 mins for delivery, so my brother in law went to pick it up and it was much quicker. When he got back with the pizza, everything was the perfect temperature so that we could dig in right away. I went for the white slice first, and it was definitely one of the better white slices that I've had. Really good and the crust was thin, yet chewy, which I really like. The regular slice was awesome...the sauce was great and same crust consistency which I really enjoyed. The only thing I didn't really like, and I'm not saying it tasted bad, just that it wasn't what I expected, was the Sicilian slice. It was made like an upside down slice-cheese then sauce on top. Tasted good, but would have preferred it made regular. I would definitely order from here again! Newbie to the neighborhood definitely approves!

This would have been a 5 Star review but they messed up and gave me penne instead of rigatoni. But this won't stop me from ordering here again. The food is good, they usually deliver before the estimated time and the delivery guys are friendly. We ordered a bunch of stuff: Plain slice - delicious, right amount of cheese and sauce ratio. Sauce is tasty. Upside down Sicilian - not a fan, but that could just be my tastebuds. It did have a good bite to it, but I'd rather have the regular Sicilian. Sicilian slice with pepperoni - perfect. Just the way a Sicilian should taste Grandma slice - YUM. I love the garlic Boneless buffalo wings - more like boneless chicken tenders. Slightly mushy. Was hoping they'd be crispier. Popped them in the toaster oven and they tasted much better. The flavor was very good though. Chicken parm - tasty. We enjoyed the sauce. Comes with a side: Side of Rigatoni alla vodka - they gave us penne. The flavor was good, but I prefer rigatoni. Chocolate cake - we had no room but it looks good. We have lots of leftovers for the upcoming snow tomorrow! Certainly looking forward to it!

I ordered pizza & waited an hour & a half with still no delivery. I called the place at least 10 times but their mailbox was full. No way to get in contact with them then two hours past by with no delivery & I gave up waiting

I just tried for the first time! The grandma pizza is by far the best I've ever had! The Avelino's Insalata Mista with grilled chicken was superb. I don't like balsamic so I decided on the Italian dressing instead. It was great! The chicken was so tender and fresh and the mozzarella was also amazing. I will definitely be going back. They were also really nice and got everything right on my order.

Axle's Kitchen went to Avellino's for Grandma. Our current leader was the Original Umberto's location in New Hyde Park. Just... the greatest. The greatest ever. Let's start with the food: from start to finish their menu is outstanding. Ranging from pizza slices with choices you never even heard of to pasta dishes that will have you literally flinching with its flavor. The prices are quite fair, not only that but they have wonderful deals (for example DOLLAR slice Monday's or an ENORMOUS spaghetti and meatballs dish that generosity serves 8 and breadsticks for 20 bucks on Wednesday's). Lastly, but not least, the workers. I've been there maybe 7 times in person and the manager always comes out, greets you asks if you need utensils, napkins or anything else to take home. If there is anything wrong with your order at all he'll fully apologize and it just seems like he really really cares about his customers. Maybe I'm gushing, but I really love the place to death. Don't take my word for it, check it out! Try the Penne Alla Vodka with chicken, PHEW!

So ... ordered med hot wings to start and stuffed mushrooms- wings sucked just soaked in hot sauce , mushrooms small with bread stuffing no taste , dinner - lasagna- stuck to bottom of container - ok no big deal - the middle was hard as a rock - was it the pasta or the cheese couldn't tell but first time we had a lasagna that bad - thought one couldn't mess up that dish . Next eggplant parm - very mediocre- garlic knots - like chewing gum and burnt . 60 bucks - reasonable I guess but positively the worst Italian takeout ever - maybe we are spoiled so many good ones around here but wow - to be fair we didn't try the pizza maybe that's what they do well couldnt say but will say stay away from any pasta dishes or appetizers ...far away

This is the 2nd time I've eaten here for lunch and WOW !! Just like the 5 stars I've rates this is As Good As It Gets ! This place is a must eat and needs to be on your list. From the Margherita to the Buffalo Chicken their pizza perfect. I went with other people and we all tried different slices and we all said the same, this pizza is PERFECT ! Their website says - the pizzeria everybody knows and I know why. The staff is very friendly, attentive and funny too ! You won't be disappointed !

Worst pizza I ever had The cheese was subpar it has so much oil the sauce had no taste

If you are looking for GREAT PIZZA, this is the place. It may be a small place but the PIZZA is delicious. Delivery was on time as promised and HOT. Will order from them again.

My family and I are Native to Franklin square and have been frequent customers of Avelilino's for the past few years. Last night we ordered pizza, picked it up, and brought it home. We bite into the pizza and realized that the whole bottom was burnt to crisps. Completely black. We returned the pizza and ordered another one thinking that the staff was decent enough to give us another pie for free since the 1st one was inedible. Unfortunately, I was mistaken. I returned the pizza missing 2 slices, leaving 6 slices. Instead of replacing the burnt pizza which I returned more than half of, they gave me a measly 5$ off on the fresh one I ordered. Not only did they not refund my money for the original pie but they charged me another 10 dollars for the second one. AWEFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. Lost a very very loyal customer. Will never visit this location again.

We ordered pizza on Uber eats. One of the best pizzas in Long Island. Delivery was perfectly on time and the food was warm. Definitely going to order pizza from here again!

Pizza is okay, but customer service is lacking. It was fairly busy when I walked in and the cashier took my order for a plain slice and a soda. I get my drink, I sit and wait. A big group that was ahead of me gets their slices. Then the guy who ordered after me gets his pie and walks out. Meanwhile, the cashier wanders to the back of the shop and starts staring at the assembled pizza boxes. The guy heating up the slices looks around and sees me, but just goes back to putting pepperonis on another pie. I tell him that I'm still waiting for my slice and his immediate response is, "Did you tell the cashier your order?" I say yes and he acts like it's a big deal to shove another pizza in the oven. The sauce on the pizza is a little too salty and the crust is on the thin side. The only plus was that it was cheap, $2.50 for a plain slice and a 20 oz. bottle of Coke.

The best pizza on Long Island. Awesome service and professional catering. Joe the owner is awesome!!! They are great with all their catering needs as well. The staff is very friendly and quick with service as well.

We were hopeful. But this first time order will be a last time order. Way too oily and not crisp even though we asked for well done. It had a weird chemically smell and was way too greasy. Disappointed.

The ingredients are AMAZING at Avelinos's, the sauce isn't acidic AT ALL, and in my opinion I can taste the sauce better than any other pizza place. DELICIOUS FOOD.

Excellent food, customer service, reasonable prices, prompt delivery, and friendly folks = a happy broke college student. Definitely recommend their chicken dishes and calamari. Don't forget to tip the delivery guy nicely! :) they're the best!

I personally did not like the way the pizza tasted; it tasted sweet. Yes, sweet like it is part of the ingredients. I asked for a simple large, pepperoni pizza and I honestly got a regular cheese pizza with a couple of pepperoni's on the top. Each slice had about 3 to 4 pepperoni's on it. I don't think I will be getting this pizza ever again, the order did arrive a little sooner than expected.

Very yummy pizza and just delicious in general. Plus it is super affordable. It hurts me that not everyone has such great things to say about this place. By far the best pizza around and the best bang for your buck. Just wish they had more drivers so my deliveries got here faster

Pizza comes hot and in good shape and it tastes good . what more can you ask for. I've also had some of their other food items and they taste good also.i recommend them

What a great find! Delicious food, from their pizza to chicken parmigiana to salads and penne ala vodka...orders always delivered on time and their Sunday family special cannot be beat! Delicious food at a fair price! A great owner who serves with a smile and always has a cherry hello. We were lucky the day we walked into Avellino's!

This place is the best! The food is always delicious. The owner Joe and staff are so helpful and go above and beyond to make sure you have a good experience. High recommended!

As far as local pizza places go this place is the best. I personally go here 3 to 4 times a week and it's much better the Umburto's up the block

Been ordering from evolinos for about a year-and-a-half never had a problem food has always been fantastic price is always been fantastic until today May 3rd 2019 ordered through GrubHub total price was $52.04 number one it was 25 minutes late and delivery and number to the delivery kid is telling me I shortchanged them that the bill was $60 we went back and forth about it until I showed him my receipt from GrubHub be careful when you order check your pricing because they play a game this is the second time they've done it and I am now no longer using that they are terrible

Absolutely the worst costumer service I had ever experienced from a pizza place. They delivered two pies to a wrong address, my not speaking mother excepted the two pies and payed for them. When I called back and told them that I did not order any pizza and they made a mistake they told me they will not take the pizzas back because my mother accepted them. We did not had one slice and wanted our money back. That did not happened. Just watch out for Avellino's pizza to knock on your door and deliver pizza you did not order.

Avellinos is one of the most community conscious restaurants I've been to in the area. They have gone above and beyond on several occasions to help both social and philanthropic events. Not to mention they make a great slice!

With all the pizza to choose from in the area, this should be last on the list. Their service is terrible, both times I ordered from them they took well over an hour and a half to deliver my food. When it finally arrived it was ice cold. I can easily say this was the last time I order from them.

This place has great Italian food. Now this might be my first review but I know for a fact they serve fresh gooey pizza that tastes amazing. I would give 5 's but they need more drink options. How else are you going to wash down there great garlic knobs. There main drink is Pepsi. They need to add things like coke Fanta or crush and Sprite. This is a restaurant you should go to.

$1 slices and other great deals are perfect for the broke college students nearby - food is pretty good and filling. Would recommend.

The menu says "Rigatoni with Broccoli Rabe" then a brief description of the pasta dish. Choice of grilled chicken breast or Italian sausage with broccoli rabe, sautéed in garlic and olive oil. I waited 30 minutes, paid 12 and change for it, go home open it up and there's no meat in there. I called back, they told me I didn't ask for it. I said the description on the menu says "CHOICE of grilled chicken breast or Italian sausage. They wouldn't budge. So for 12 and change I paid for Rigatoni and broccoli rabe. Never going back. This exact same dish is called Penne alla Campagniola at Lia's pizzeria and the sausage is in there automatically for the same price. Another thing, Avellino's broccoli rabe was mostly stems, very little leaves, and the stems were undercooked......indigestible.

Two for tuesday special off of a very limited menu that gets smaller every few months. Well I ordered 2 meatball parms for $7.50 and was quoted $9.00 ok so I see they charge tax for both lmao ok. So I pick them up and guy at counter is in mid conversation with another customer not hardly acknowledges me rings me up im on my way. Will not be back

We got a nice menu in our mailbox at our house so decided to try this place that took over the old Cenrurion space Fresh (whole) pizza was OK. The specialty slices I ordered that were reheated we completely overdone and hard like cardboard. Staff were nice. Torn between 2 and 3 stars but decided on 2 since they are not as good as some others in the area.

Real good pie, the owner is accommodating but most the rest of the staff are in need of a crash course in how to treat people that are in your place of employment, which, by the way pays your salary. If you sign-up you receive specials on Wed. and Fri. Which in general are good deals. If the staff were better an additional star would be warranted.

I like their pizza a lot. Good, reliable, thin crust pizza. I generally pick up, so no experience with delivery. On Mondays, eat-in slices are only $1. They also have really good heroes.

This is the only place I order from for pasta night. They are always consistant. I always know what I am getting. No matter what I get it always is good. Love their linguini with white clam sauce. Calamari always crispy. Today they even gave me a free 2liter bottle of pepsi just because. Delivery person is pleasant and nice. Will try to actually go eat in there next time.
