Lovely, kind staff. Volunteers wonderfully kind-,hearted and efficient preparing for the many hungry souls who arrive Tuesdays in search of hot food. Though it is a take away- Doing much for the many with other needs. Grateful and Thankful for their tenacity to keep progams on-going.

The services have gotten worse. The dinner 9/4/18 Tuesday was horrible. Food is not healthy food. I was there recently. I only ate green salad. gave everything else away. Steroid chicken legs, canned vegetables, and instant potatoes. Half cup of coffee and only one small cup of juice. Everything is less now. Also, clothing closet worse. There is clothes but time to fold and look is less. Rush and go. It use to be ten minutes. Today was 5 items, 5 minutes. This is not enough time to look and they want you to fold the items back. Not worth making trip for only 5 minutes. I will go somewhere else. People do not waste your time. This only benefits the volunteers, not the women who need the clothes.

5 days a week, Monday through Friday. From 12 to 1:15 p.m., is the most superb lunch served to you by volunteers. The only requirement is that you be over 60 years old. Just be slightly careful. Some of the people are very crabby. And many are deaf!

It's a great place to pray plus they have Carter Burden Luncheon Club where the elderly and disabled people go to eat. Plus you can help around to help feed and surve food to them, so come on down to pray to the lord and help feed the elderly too with friends and families. Also remember to show respect to your elders they're part of our lifes and part of our families for what lies ahead in the future for us all, so help care and respect those who have disabilities.

My church since 1976. Over years Jan Hus became a star ... A neighborhood go-to for its wonderful location and multi-spaces for public meetings. Real Estate in Manhattan + internet + much more ... combined to close the old church in the 2nd decade of the 21st century. ALL GONE😇🤣

My experience of Jan Hus Presbyterian Church has been bitter sweet. Let me say loud and clear that the work this institution does is wonderful. Unlike so many of the other so-called Christian faith communities, It takes the Gospel directive to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, etc. seriously, literally. Funny how Biblical literalists rarely are so fundamentalist on this issue. Bravo, those who do this work. You are the salt of the earth and the light of the world; you are the living face of God. Let me also say even louder and clearer, that this place is now run by the OSS: The Order of Satan's Sisters. The devil works in mysterious ways. This recent take over by the OSS happened quietly. The former interim pastor and the COO were forced out (the latter illegally!) because they truly believed in the Gospel message, which always puts one at risk for ridicule, as Jesus was when welcoming and dining with his society's undesirables: prostitutes, public sinners...The new interim, who appears to have few qualifications in pastoral work or any human service-related area (apparently her background is the advertising industry which makes her a credible liar), delivers in word and deed a highly studied ministerial image. Though lack luster, watch out: she is the wolf (i.e., the demonic) in sheep's clothing. She now has moved a once faith-filled organization to allegiance with the Master of Deception. Her side-kick, the multi-faced Administrator, Comptroller (read "controller') is best described by a 16th century expression "though the devil has many faces, one will find them bound to the same tail." Need I say more? A winning combination: evil and more evil. Top this off by a council member or two who are willing to worship the interim pastor without a second thought and you have a recipe for destruction of many year of honest effort to make the words of Jesus real and alive. Too bad. Be warned: You good folks still associated with this place open your eyes and also your mouths. Silence is tacit approval. This is so unfortunate. The workings of evil are so subtle and many times are dressed up in the guise of the good! If there is a communion of saints, I hope they will rise up and wake up the the rest of the slumbering believers. But the choice remains with us. I, Angelo Dei, have done my part. Have you done yours?
