I recently visited Avery Lane with my two teenagers in search of a new sofa and was extremely disappointed with our experience. While the store did have a great selection of gorgeous furniture, the staff were rude and very unfriendly to my teenagers. This was especially disappointing as we were all excited to shop at Avery Lane and had high hopes for finding the perfect sofa. Upon arriving at the store, we were greeted with cold and distant attitudes from the staff. Despite our attempts to engage in friendly conversation and ask questions about the various sofas on display, the staff seemed disinterested and unenthused to be helping us. My teenagers, who are usually well-behaved and respectful, were made to feel unwelcome and uncomfortable, which really put a damper on our shopping experience. In the end, we left Avery Lane empty-handed and with a bad taste in our mouths. It's a shame because the store had a lot of beautiful furniture to choose from, but the rude and unfriendly staff completely overshadowed any potential enjoyment we could have had while shopping there. I would not recommend Avery Lane to anyone based on our poor experience with the staff.

Take a trip down Avery Lane, you won't be disappointed! Its a superior furniture consignment store. The furnishings are beautifully displayed, the selection wide, and the pricing is on target. But best of all, the staff is wonderful! After my 2 week search for a reasonably priced, attractive chest of drawers in the Tucson and Scottsdale areas, I finally found the perfect piece at Avery Lane in Scottsdale. Pamela went above and beyond the call of duty to help me secure delivery to my Oro Valley home. Avery Lane's customer service is top notch! I will definitely return to find more "finds".

We recently purchased a new home in the Phoenix area. The style on the interior of this home is Country French. We moved from a home that was very modern. What a find Avery Lane was for us! Additionally our salesperson, Billye, was an absolute champ! Once she knew our style, she ran with it and found us multiple pieces. I can't even imagine what all these items would have cost at their original price(s).

From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by the quality of their merchandise and the level of customer service they provide. First and foremost, the staff at Avery Lane is exceptional. Barbara, in particular, has a tremendous eye for design and a wealth of knowledge about their inventory. She took the time to understand my style and preferences and helped me pick out the most wonderful living room furniture. Her expertise and guidance made the entire shopping experience a joy.

Excellent website and so easy to send them info about your consignment items on-line. Review time for items was prompt and the correspondence thorough, professional and succinct. Quick response to inquiries and questions every time. Excellent experience!

We have shopped here for years. Bought a sofa and pair of chairs here last Saturday. Going in tomorrow to pick them up. Store has always had a great selection of furniture, art, lamps and accessories. I've always found something to buy when stopping in. I really like how they have a price tag on each piece and the dates that the item will be marked down with the new price. I do have a gorgeous sofa to sell and six linen dining chairs Id like to consign. I sent an email with photos on Saturday to the owner asking if she would consign them but I haven't heard back. They are closed on Sunday. FYI. The reason for only four stars is because there is no implied expectation of help (from the store) when picking up the furniture. We rented a box truck for easy pick up. Once we arrived we had to ask for help loading. They also don't offer any shrink wrap or protective wrap- which is a staple for every furniture store I've ever purchased from. The furniture at Avery Lane isn't cheap- even though it's used, it is still rather expensive- we spent over $3500 this visit and wasn't offered any type of help moving /lifting the furniture into the box truck until we asked.

Darlene and her team were so helpful and easy to deal with. They responded promptly to all my emails and made the whole process smooth.

What a fantastic experience we had at Avery Lane finding furniture for my son's new home. Very unique pieces (a coffee table and dresser for his bedroom) and a wonderful, classy atmosphere. The staff were very friendly, professional and attentive (we found the pieces on our first visit, and then went back the next day to buy them and received a warm "welcome back" by name from Jami). The showroom is beautifully designed and gave us ideas for how to bring some nice design elements into my son's new home. Thank you to Darlene and staff for taking such good care of us.

This place is an absolute gem! From unique treasures to high end quality resale items. On top of that Darlene (owner) has gone out of her way to take care of a situation that was an oversight on my part, in which she did not have to do. I will be a customer for life. The entire staff is lovely to work with as well.

Avery Lane's promise of stellar customer satisfaction seems not to apply in every situation... the chandilier I purchased was misrepresented as something that was in good working order for a 12ft ceiling. When I went to have it installed and pulled it from the box (Avery Lane employees took it down and boxed it for shipping) I realized it was cut to fit an 8ft ceiling and damaged. Power cord had electrical tape holding it together. After contacting the manufacturer, i learned the only solution was to spend over $500 to get parts and pay an electrician to re string it in order for it to be functional. When I contacted the store, both the salesperson (Jamie) and owner (Darlene) said sorry but they would not be responsible for the issues. I am out several months time and over $900 in additional expenses. I'm extremely disappointed with the customer service of Avery Lane and question the integrity of the store. I will not be shopping there again.

Great place to take your gently used furniture. They are discerning in what they will accept which means if you are buying, it will be in good condition.

Just moved to Scottsdale and can't say enough about Jami at Avery Lane. She was immensely helpful in pulling artwork that complemented my style and our new home. I'll be returning for more! Couldn't be happier, please ask for Jami if I'm not there!

I was blown away by Avery Lane--what a unique treat! Such an amazing selection...Felt like I was shopping in Paris! Wish I had more places to furnish! Especially check out the art. Reasonable prices as well for high end stuff, and the staff are extremely thoughtful and friendly. Wish every experience was like this one!

This is a nice place to buy or sell used furniture. I bought a coffee table and side table for my living room at a great price. A couple of years later when I decided to sell them I got a great price as they really retained their value. This place is huge and has a great selection. The staff has always been very nice and helpful.

I recently visited my aunt in Scottsdale and she brought me to a wonderful sweetheart party Avery Lane was hosting. This is where I laid eyes on some beautiful art that I simply couldn't resist. Not only is Darlene an incredible owner, she has a great eye for interesting pieces. I was so graciously assisted, during this party, by Billye. She went above and beyond to make sure I had all the info I needed to follow through with this purchase. Since that day she has stayed connected with me and kept me updated on shipping costs and anything else I needed to know. She was so wonderful to work with and Avery Lane is lucky to have her. I can't wait to come back and visit to see what new finds there will be!

This post is in response to more of Darlenes lies. It's bizarre that she continues to make the same statements and claims accusing me of coming on the wrong day and she doesn't have her facts straight . This is why I had to leave because she continued to accuse me of things that I didn't do or say from day one. I hope that she can prove what she's saying because I'm tired of being attacked by her and targeted. I told her I did not come on Saturday and she continues to tell me that I did. She needs to prove that I came on Saturday then. I know I didn't come on Saturday and I know that she approved that I could come on Friday and I did exactly what she said. My driver that delivered my items is my witness, I have text messages proving that we came on Friday, my call records also show proof that I called Avery lane, and the photographs that I sent to her are dated on Friday afternoon. Just because she forgot to inform her warehouse she has created a complete smear campaign targeting me from the day I arrived after she approved it. She must not speak English because she continues to claim that we delivered our furniture on a Saturday, then she acts like I was electively complaining... when the truth be told that after she sent me her reprimanding email for coming on the wrong day which she had her facts incorrect. I was simply reaching out hoping I could speak to her asking her why she kept accusing me on coming on Saturday because I didn't. ...she's the one that told me to come on Friday. . I have a witnesses and proof that I never came unannounced on Saturday to drop off the furniture. I came on Friday immediately after speaking to her. She even asked me to send her some other photos of items that I was interested in consigning and I did that too and they're dated on the day that I talk to her.. my phone records would prove that that is the day that I spoke with her also. The paperwork that I filled out in the warehouse is dated on Friday not Saturday and yet she continues to insist that I was doing something wrong. Any normal person would question why she sent me a reprimanding email telling me that I came on the wrong day and that's what I tried to do.... She refused to answer the phone and now she's trying to make me look like some raging client trying to clarify why she even sent me the letter in the first place .., just because she has a memory loss and forgot and she cannot take any responsibility here is the problem. I have proof of what I'm saying and she doesn't. She's crazy to keep saying I came on a Saturday. She's a liar . This is why I left because I cannot, nor did I need to be accused of something I didn't do. I know for a fact that she had approved for me to come on Friday I have proof . I didn't come alone. I had a driver that came with me as a witness so she can stop talking about Saturday and blaming me on something that I didn't do. That would be the best place to start. .When we arrived at the warehouse, they didn't know we were coming and the warehouse said that this happens all the time people bring their things in and they don't have any record of it. I'm the one that should be in fear for my life because I've been defending myself from her false accusations and she better be able to prove what she's saying because that's why this whole thing has gone on. She's such a coward and cannot accept responsibility for the fact that she simply forgot to inform the warehouse that she had approved that I could come. And now she's dancing around it continuing to point the finger at me and thank God I got out of there. Darlene completely forgot to tell them it's unbelievable how she is unwilling to accept responsibility. Continues to blame me on something I didn't do when I know I have proof. I have witnesses and a contract her warehouse gave me to fill out.. it's dated This is bizarre she has targeted me and wouldn't be able to prove anything she's saying ... She created this whole smear campaign against me for defending myself... She can continue to talk about her stellar reputation however since we're all human, except for Darlene... she is totally unable to accept responsibility for her own actions or non-actions. So for the record, there's nothing to dispute if she doesn't have her fax straight in the first place . I did not come on Saturday. I have a witness. I came with a driver and I signed the form once she gets her story straight she might be able to make some sense . This is exactly why I left because we kept going in circles. She kept telling me I came on Saturday. I know I didn't come on Saturday. I know that she approved me to come on Friday and here we are. It's crazy making.. It's even crazier that she decided to post her response saying the same thing I would like for her to prove that I came there on Saturday. I know I can prove I came on Friday.

We always have fun shopping at Avery Lane. You never know what you may find that you will fall in love with. The store is clean and organized with an amazing selection of high end furniture for every room, as well as accessories to complete the look. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We recently purchased our third original oil painting from Avery Lane. Jamie was very helpful and knowledgeable about the painting. We were very happy with the prices we paid for each painting. Avery Lane has a pretty good turnover rate, so if you see something you like, don't wait too long as someone else may come along and snatch it up.

Darlene is fabulous. She came to our home and very quickly provided pricing ranges for our house full of furniture. At the last minute the buyers of the home decided they wanted the furnishings. Darlene was amazing and understood completely despite losing the business. I have never encountered someone with her level of professionalism. I give her 10 stars and an A+ rating. This consignment store only handles higher end merchandise and has a large showroom with many styles to choose from. I appreciate the selection and the opportunity to consign from time to time and will be purchasing outdoor furnishings as well since they are also carried in their collection of great finds.

Once you realize all your "cherished" furniture is not going to bring selling prices close to your desires................you will find Darlene and her staff run a really fine consignment business at Avery Lane! Customer service is stellar. So, glad I was referred to this business!

I found a new/or like new console for my bedroom that I didn't know I needed! The problem was that I already had a console but, thankfully, I was able to consign my console and get the new one. My console sold! I have also found several other "treasures" for great prices. Check them out if looking for furniture or accessories!

I purchased 4 items from Avery lane and they are all amazing pieces and in perfect condition. When I was checking out at an estate sale, I mentioned I also purchased a bed frame and was in need of a mattress still and Darlene graciously offered a close to brand new mattress to me that they were going to donate anyway. They are super helpful and really nice and get the items delivered quickly. Could not be happier to have purchased these items from them and will continue going back in the future! As someone who has been to Avery Lane over the years, I feel it has gone downhill as they have expanded. I think when it first started, the employees were friendlier and prices were more reasonable. The quality of the consignment furniture is still outstanding. However, as it has grown, the prices have become way too expensive and the customer service has declined significantly. I see in some of the other reviews, there is some acrimony over the owner and other employees. I understand how the owner can come off in a certain negative light to some individuals. However, in my brief interactions, she had never been impolite or rude. Her employees, however, have been less helpful over the years - that much, I can attest to. Sometimes, when companies start to get a taste of success and growth, they lose sight of what made them great - i.e., the simple things: good prices, kind customer service, and quality products/services. They get greedy and lose their footing, so to speak. I think as individual humans, we do the same thing. But in my opinion, that's the most important time to re-ground oneself and stick with the principles that drove your success. In Avery Lane's case, it was quality consignment furniture at a good price with great customer service. In my opinion, as Avery Lane has grown, they have lost some of that original appeal. And, since there are plenty of other consignment stores in the area that deliver quality consignment furniture with better prices/service, it's just easier to shop elsewhere.

This is my go to place for furnishings including art and accessories. Darleen the owner has captured the high end resale clientele in Scottsdale. She has a treasure trove of beautiful high quality slightly used unique furniture. Although prices have gone up with the scarcity caused by our broken supply chain, Avery Lane has kept pricing REAL in the previously owned furniture market. Avery Lane has something for everyone and sometimes I go in there not knowing what I need and find it. The owner Darleen is exceptional and her displaying merchandise and customer service. She has a good eye for for bringing in previously loved furniture, artwork & accessories. Also the people that work there are knowledgeable and helpful and fun. It's always a pleasure to go in browsing but what's more fun, is buying!

This is the place to find a treasure, a character piece, for your home! I shop often to see what just came in and the selection always delights. I find quality, custom upholstered pieces with solid frames and down cushions, real Johnathan Adler ceramics and lighting before manufacturing went to China, a Waterford vase below $20, artwork with Italian frames that I reuse, real mid-century teak finds and the perfect, luxurious throw pillow marked down to $10. Avery Lane is a fun way to spend an hour before lunch with a friend. The quality is stunning and the friendly staff is so good at letting you roam but being available for questions. Go!!!

I just discovered this wonderful store recently with a friend who has pratically furnished her whole house from here. Beautiful ,spacious showroom .Darlene the owner does a fantastic job selecting high end furnishings and accessories. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.

Masks are optional and apparently, so is the customer service. I work at a higher end furniture consignment store in Park City, Utah. I love to see other sister stores and I appreciate them as well as the work that goes into every detail. My father and step mother will soon be moving to Scottsdale and I have been on the hunt for a fun store that they will be able to use to help furnish their new home. I walked in and nobody was at the front. As I walked on in, a lady was working at a desk to the left. I greeted her, made eye contact, said hello but didn't receive a word or a smile in return . I walked every inch of the store, it's just lovely. Unfortunately, not a single soul smiled nor said hello. Maybe it was because I was wearing a mask and they were not ? I spent an hour at the store in the middle of a Wednesday afternoon. There were at least three items that I was interested in for myself and others that were on my parents list. I don't know why but when I had a question, I couldn't find anyone around. As I left the store, the ladies sitting behind the desk watched me leave. I've never experienced anything quite so awkward and cold.

We found another treasure at Avery Lane! Loving our new chandelier! We are very appreciative of the time and care it took for them to take it down from the showroom ceiling and carefully wrap all 248 crystals for us to transport! Thank you!

Since she has lived in this area for over 30 years, we asked for a recommendation on where we should go to furnish our condo. Without hesitation, she suggested we go to Avery Lane, and even though she said they are a consignment store, she reassured us that we would be very well treated. With some trepidation about going to a consignment store, after 5 minutes in the store, we were pleasantly surprised as to the wide array of home furnishings. We would be remiss if we did not share this experience with you, and don't let the word consignment get in the way if you are looking for home furnishings. If you are like us where we look for quality and price, your first stop should be Avery Lane. The quality of home furnishings, the price of the furnishings, and a group of professional and personable staff that are very responsive to your needs, Avery Lane is the place to go. Avery Lane has always been one of my favorite consignment stores in Scottsdale. I love to wander in and almost always leave with a little something, or photos of great pieces to share with my friends. They are always very friendly and I have found their customer service to be lovely. Today they became even more of a favorite because of their mask optional policy. Thank you Avery Lane for giving us the freedom to choose. I felt a skip in my step while shopping without a sweaty mask and being such a large store, it was simple to social distance from other customers. Kudos and thumbs up to being a great business owner - the wording on your front door was kind, informative and a welcome site in my eyes.

You can truly find something unique from major furniture pieces to accessories. Their People are great and they made it easy for me to consign a piece of furniture that probably wouldn't have fit in the normal cookie cutter consignment stores where everything is jammed together. I'm writing this not as someone who bought something, but as someone who's consigned. I recently sold my home and had a lot of great furniture that I was hoping to make some money on. Avery Lane was the logical choice. I had purchased some items from them in the past. I was really impressed that it looked like a high end furniture store, not a consignment shop. Their process was really easy and very professional. Best of all, a large portion of my items sold quickly and resulted in a great payout. I can check on my items regularly though a website they provided so I know what sold. Avery Lane is a great option if you looking to sell or buy high quality, pre-loved furniture.

There is a "mask optional" flyer on the door that advises that we should respect each others decisions. None of the staff were wearing masks. This is irresponsible during the height of this deadly pandemic. As a front line health care worker that is expected to risk my life to care for you, I find this disrespectful. I will not shop at this store.

I LOVE this store! As a designer and decorator I always find treasures of incredible quality and great pricing.. I always find what I'm looking for. The variety and styles are like new but so much better. The best consignment in Scottsdale. The owner Darlene is a pleasure to work with and always with a beautiful smile on her face.. OK inventory--a lot of very over the top 'statements pieces' that only a specific kind of person would buy once in a blue moon, but found a few pieces here and there that weren't as flashy that I was definitely interested in. The gentlemen was very short and rude with me when I was asking questions about a few items. He made me feel like I was an inconvenience and that I was wasting his time. He treated two nicely dressed men far nicer than he treated me, so maybe my casual appearance made him think I wasn't going to actually spend any money (why would I walk into a higher end consignment shop not ready to spend at least a few hundred dollars?) Maybe it was an off day for him but not a good first impression of the store at all.

Lovely store, great quality & nice owner. We have purchased many items & consigned a few which sold & we were paid. Unfortunately, never got paid on our beautiful lamp which we consigned . When we went by to check on it the owner suggested we leave it, she loved it & said ot would sell. Well it did but we never got paid. Called a few times and spoke with an employee, left our change of address, never heard back, dissapointing.

This is not your average consignment store! If you are looking for quality used furnishings at a fair price you really need to start here. The store is well organized and very clean. Furniture is nicely displayed. I have found the staff to be professional and knowledgeable about the inventory. They do offer a independent deliver service for an additional fee. I have used them on a few occasions to deliver my Avery Lane merchandise. They are very reasonable, professional and prompt. Love this place!

I am a longtime client of AveryLane. I love shopping and consigning there ( she gets top $$$ for the consignor, but, still a deal for the buyer). Darlene is a marvelous business person. Her staff is also great. The showroom is set up in a very appealing way, not like a typical consignment store. In fact, you will forget you're in a consignment store once you are shopping. Not only is the service great, but the selection of merchandise is exactly as described it on the website....A little bit of everything from everywhere. Things that people have purchased from all over the world that you would never find if you went into a regular furniture store. Very high-quality merchandise. I know this because I not only consign my items at Avery Lane but I also purchased things there. Go there, you'll LOVE IT!

I was visiting your store with my daughter, and I wanted to share my experience so that other customers do not have the same one. My daughter and I had visited Avery Lane about two weeks ago, and we decided to return today to revisit a piece of furniture (sofa table). When we first walked in today, we also saw a sideboard that we thought would fit our home. By the way, I am more than capable of buying this furniture. However, we soon felt as if the employees were following us around the store. A woman followed us everywhere we went as she "dusted," and she did not once ask us if we had any questions. Additionally, my daughter and I took turns using the restroom, and we each felt like we were being watched as we waited for the other person. My daughter looked in a mirror to fix her hair as she waited for me, and an employee was obviously watching her through the mirror. We felt so uncomfortable that we eventually decided to leave. We were obviously being judged by the way we looked, though I personally think there was nothing wrong with how we looked. It seems as though my sundress and my daughter's jeans did not meet their standards. The way a customer looks should not matter to employees, but they obviously do. Because of this experience, we will not be buying any of the furniture we saw (and liked). However, I believe that you should hear about our experience to ensure that future customers are not profiled.
