SO. I've been drinking coffee here for maybe a decade? I think I spend 80ish per month here for 10 years. And I still will. So here is my review in my normal style. BUT when you get to the service review, does it really matter? Maybe.
BTW - This is for both locations.
COFFEE - best coffee in the area. Love Intelligencia. Have had maybe two cups in 10 years where I was like... nah. I like the roasts here. Not to floral. More on the chocolate, roasty side.
AMBIANCE - really great. Modern, comfortable, really is a great fit to Cherry Creek.
CLEANLINESS - always clean.
PASTRIES - Ok. A couple are just to sweet. The old pastries were so good I felt like drug addict hiding Almond Brioche Croissants from my family. But those are gone.
SERVICE. SERVICE? - I honestly don't think they give a croissant. They never really have if I'm being honest. Because I'll keep going back for the coffee and being nice to them even when they speak to me like an idiot, don't speak to me, don't want to hear me when Im speaking, speak to each other about shopping, groceries, relationships, movies, places to drink, music, food, and who they are pissed at all while I'm waiting for them to make my drink. I honestly didn't think I would ever post this. BUT, the last three or four times I have gone in. Really?
Today, I was trying to order a quad latte. They were talking BARELY listening and she gave me a dbl. ok. I can survive.
Recently, however, it has been pretty bad. ONE example.
I was first one in the store in the AM. As I often am. I timed how long it would take them to take my order, and then make it. It took 8 minutes for them to acknowledge me! Then I got a "We will get to you in a minute. We are working on something." Maybe? But one of them was sure pissed at her friend. "but is she really a friend if she treats me like that?!!!" I don't know.
Then the SLOWEST made latte in coffee history. It was like a hung over sloth was trying pull a shot.
SO, I could go on. At a 10,000 ft level, their service is the worst. Just look at the 1 and 2 reviews. It's all service. THAT IS WHY, I can't believe I'm going to do this!...
BUT...
I'm giving them 4 stars. I'm not their to have someone greet me with a smile, or look me in the eye, or wish me a good day, or thank me for coming in. I'm there to sit outside on nice days, and drink good coffee.
But if you REALLY wanted... you could change the narrative. Hire at least ONE PERSON who smiles. I might cry.
AS I was leaving I thought. "I'll be back to be ignored again tomorrow." It is what it is.
