LA’s New Restaurant Openings - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Does drinking in an airplane seat without ever leaving the ground sound like fun? Aviator, a new flight-themed bar on Melrose, is betting it does. The space is decked out to resemble an aircraft cabin with overhead bins and tray tables, and instead of pretzels they’re serving caviar baked potatoes, steak bites, and sliders, as well as cocktails such as Aviations and Paper Planes." - cathy park

Coffee is really bad we tried peanut butter latte and tiramisu latte, both were lacking balance and had burnt coffee taste. Hot chocolate is just a cacao plus they charge you extra 2.50 for a cacao with oat-milk which is ridiculous. We tried only drinks so definitely not recommending those.

I recently visited Aviator Café, and I was absolutely delighted! I ordered the Biscoff Latte, and it wasn’t just coffee – it was a full dessert in a cup. The creamy, aromatic latte had hints of caramel, and on top was a generous layer of crumbled cookies, adding a crunchy texture and extra sweetness. Every sip was a perfect combination of velvety milk, rich espresso, and crispy biscuit – simply amazing! I will definitely be coming back again! And yes, I got to enjoy not only a fantastic coffee but also a freshly baked croissant – crispy on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside. It was pure bliss!

Google
Cashier was rude, we were the only customers there on a rainy morning and were apparently taking too long to look at the menu. He also gave us lids that didn’t fit. I liked my tiramisu latte. My friend got a Nutella late. The place is rather small, it has a lot of options and instagrammable drinks but not a sit down coffee shop really

Shahana khan

Google
Had the Nutella latte and The chocolate strawberry. The coffee did not taste good at all and the hazelnuts that were added on top of the coffee was stale and made the coffee oily . The chocolate strawberry was okay . Personally I would never go back again for the coffee , maybe for the chocolate strawberries.

Google
This is stunt food. Coffees that look good for instagram but have no substance. I really wanted to like this place too but $27 for two coffees and having to wait 25 minutes for them is too tall of an order. Tirimisu latte was decent, but the bumblebee was awful (orange juice and espresso), wouldnt have ordered it if i knew what it was, but there are no descriptions on the menu or tablet and staff is too preoccupied to acknowledge your existence. Also $2.50 upcharge for nondairy milk is criminal.

I went once and got food to take home. I was the only person there and it took maybe 15 minutes for them to make everything. That’s not the worst. I tried again to pick up food another night and ordered ahead. It was told my order would be ready in 25 minutes. When I got there for pick-up I was then told by the app it wouldn’t be ready for an hour. An employee said they were “overwhelmed.” But I’m guessing it doesn’t take much for this tiny place to be overwhelmed. They don’t have the space or the staff to accommodate multiple orders at once. Look at other reviews and you’ll see people saying it took 40 minutes to get two coffees. That is unacceptable. I hope this business figures things out, because they have a great menu… it’s just too bad I won’t be going back to try anything else. Go to Yoga-Urt next door instead.

Google
Tucked away in a little strip I didn’t even know existed, Aviator is a pleasant surprise. The Tiramisu Latte—topped with a ladyfinger—was absolutely grand. Rich, smooth, and just the right touch of sweetness. The chocolate éclair also hit the spot, indulgent without being too heavy. While the drinks and pastries were memorable, the experience felt a bit impersonal. Having to order everything myself took away from the welcoming, community feel I usually look for in a coffee shop. For that, I’m giving it 4 stars. Still, it's worth a visit if you’re in the area and in the mood for something sweet and thoughtfully made.

Yelp
Great ice cream! We walk over here all the time. Staff is helpful and nice. they have ice cream, gelato smoothies and coffees.

Yelp
(+) good drinks, lots of variety (there are more options on their tablet menus vs the printed menu outside) (+) nice presentation (+) wifi available (I didn't use it so I'm unsure if it works!) (+) nice outside ambiance at night with their lights (+) street parking available ( ) place itself/inside is very small ( ) quite expensive Though on the pricey side, their drinks are yummy and beautiful! We ordered the ube matcha, espresso, and biscoff latte. We also ordered a labubu jelly (which was actually quite flavorful) and a cookie. The avocado toast was good, though I've had better.

Yelp
I saw this place on Instagram, and it looked so nice and delicious! We even drove all the way from the Valley to try it, but unfortunately, we were disappointed. First of all, the place is hard to find because there's no obvious signage. Second, the staff/cashier who was making the drinks was very hard to understand. She wasn't clear with what she was saying. I ordered the Taro Labubu. The labubu part comes separately, and you have to put it in the drink yourself. Since it was our first time, we didn't know that. She said she would help, but I ended up having to do it myself. For $16, the drink was definitely not worth it. The Labubu jelly just sank to the bottom, and my drink ended up overflowing, sticky and messy everywhere. I took a sip, and it had no taste at all. It was so disappointing that I just threw it away because it was sticky, tasteless, and not enjoyable. Definitely not worth the hype or the price.

Yelp
I went on a weekday, so it wasn't busy at all. The woman at the counter was very kind and recommended me some of their more popular drinks. tiramisu latte (3/5) - i wasn't super impressed given the high price and hype. while i liked how it wasn't too sweet, there wasn't really much of a coffee or tiramisu flavor... mostly tasted like milk.
google avatar

Janey M.

Yelp
Cute drinks! But the taste was watered down. Staff is very pushy. You self order at the counter. Small area to eat inside and out.

Yelp
This is a great cafe! The food and drinks taste amazing and prices are great also everything always looks so cute everyone is very sweet and nice and very welcoming I recommend this area if your looking to have a small meet up with friends or just want some coffee with something sweet!

Yelp
Stopped by here because we saw a post on Instagram recommend it! Parking can get tricky (on weekends) just to even get here, so we street parked! The place inside it pretty small and narrow so seating can be tight! They have a wide variety in terms of their menu, from anything to snowcones to lattes! Definitely a place that can be kid-friendly! Their drinks are also very aesthetic especially with the flowers! But as a place that has such a wide variety of drinks, I feel that they don't necessarily pack a punch just yet. We had their ube matcha and their butter latte. We haven't tried everything obviously, and maybe some of the other drinks do, but because they have so many unique items it's hard to know what supposed to be their special here! Love the quantity in variety but would love more quality if possible! Still a great place to visit with family and kids!

Yelp
Guys, I've eaten so much at this place that it's about time I share my thoughts! First of all they have the most delicious iced vanilla latte I've ever had in my life. They also have my absolute favorite drink - ube matcha, which I always order. When it comes to food, my top picks are the crepe rolls, spaghetti crepes, and the Dubai waffle from the sweet options (though honestly, everything here is super tasty). And I also tried their viral Labubu drink with melon SO GOOD. The melon flavor is just next level! I would also recommend their salmon croissant, very very good
google avatar

Yelp
I love how close this is to my home! They also open till late so it's a great spot to get some desserts after dinner. I've tried it a couple of times and I love their Ube Matcha drink and their pancakes! The tiramisu latte is alright. The pistachio is definitely good for pistachio lovers! I wish they allow modifications on the ice cream on top of the pancake since I'm not really a fan of coconut ice cream. I did request on the order to change it to ube but they didn't . Only thing is you can only order through the kiosk.
google avatar

Krissy R.

Yelp
The place is not really noticeable, it has very basic interior including the menus. I wish they improve these things to make the cafe look more attractive and welcoming. We ordered pancakes, Iced Peanut Butter and Hot Pistachio Latte. The drinks tasted great. The pancakes were soft but not really tasty. The Vanilla ice cream and fruits were definitely great addition to it. There was only a staff doing everything so our pancake order took a long time. The cafe has a lot of potential and I hope they could improve on their wait times and interiors as well.

Yelp
Cute little spot on Kenneth. I saw this place on Instagram and thought I had to check it out. Everything is definitely way too pricey. I got the Sakura Milkshake , flavor wise it was delicious. Not too sweet. Consistency wise it was runny, not the consistency of a milkshake, more like a smooothie that's sat a bit. Definitely was looking for a thicker base. The girl was really nice and offered her help if I had any questions. There are definitely certain things on the menu that are decently priced that I would come back again to try. And if you're looking for ice cream, they have some interesting options for $3.99.

Yelp
Nice, quiet place and many crave-options! Good customer service. Patio area. Parking a little tough.

Yelp
Loved the creativity on the menu -- so many unique drinks and dishes you don't see everywhere! But unfortunately, the flavors didn't match the excitement. I ordered a Biscoff latte, and what I got looked nothing like the photo. Maybe it was made by a trainee? Either way, it wasn't great. We also had the sweet pasta-crepe dish (can't remember the exact name), which was a fun idea, but the crepes were super dry -- like they'd been made days ago. The "Russian" syrniki were tasty but completely fell apart, definitely not authentic. On the bright side, the presentation was beautiful, and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. That alone made the visit better. Giving it 4 stars for the vibe and service -- just hope the kitchen gets more consistent!

Yelp
Horrible customer service. We came for a labubu drink and they were sold out. We were told to only use the one tablet to order, so we placed an order and 30 minutes passed by without receiving two scoops of ice cream and a coffee. I had to go to the back of the store and request a refund. Then I was told they can have it done in 5 minutes when we were already running behind for an appointment. Don't waste your time or money.

Yelp
You know those places that have pretty looking drinks and when you order it looks nothing like the pictures? Well, Aviator is not one of them, and their drinks are very "aesthetic pleasing" if you're into that. The place is tiny, but it's clean, well lit and the workers are polite. Don't know how busy they can get as I went in at around 6:30 pm, but I'm sure on weekends and over the summer the place is probably packed. They have an extensive menu and honestly everything looks good. Decided to order the tiramisu latte and it was actually delicious. Not too strong and the flavors were amazing. My only issue with them is the up charge for plant based milk. Now, I've been to places where they charge between .75-$1.25 for plant based milk, but Aviator charges $2.50!!!!! That is insanely expensive. They do have a variety to choose from, such as cashew and pistachio milk, but still $2.50 is way too steep, especially considering their drinks are already costly to begin with. I do know the area they are in the rent definitely is not cheap, but still they should probably rethink their prices on plant based milks. I would go again, but this is not your everyday coffee spot, more like a once in a while treat.

Yelp
Great spot to get some dessert with friends we ordered strawberries with Belgium chocolate , ube lychee lemonade , pistachio latte , shaved ice. The ube lemonade was my favorite beautiful presentation .. Only complaint is that it's pricey

Yelp
I came in last Saturday afternoon. It's a cute spot in a nice area in Glendale. They have a kiosk where you order. I'm not sure if it's because they have self service that the staff doesn't acknowledge you but upon entering nobody greeted us. It wasn't busy. I ordered the chocolate covered strawberries and when it was ready I asked for a fork and the lady just said "it's over there" without pointing or anything. I also got the ube latte. It was sweet but I liked it. I was slightly annoyed of the customer service, but other than that the dessert was really good.

Yelp
I really like my experience First thing I respect: girls speak in 4 languages here! Amazing! I recommend to try mushrooms rizotto
google avatar

Yelp
There's some sidewalk seating and a few tables inside. Order at kiosk and pay via credit card. The Dubai chocolate is yum. Like a KitKat crunch. The inside is crunchy and airy. Not a heavy dense truffle. They sell dark and milk chocolate. They have a dessert case but it's not labelled. The kiosk has some pictures but no real descriptions. Kid got ice cream in waffle and loved his cotton candy and strawberry. The açaí bowls were flying off the counter. My hubby got Arabian coffee on sand which is cool. For coffee snobs. He does pour over at home. It's a mom and pop kinda place that busy and has kinda a small savory menu listed on kiosk. Included Alfredo fettuccini and salmon croissant. This is not a service place. Basically no contact. Pick up at counter. The parking is street or alley lot. I would say the taste and presentation is amazing. The menu and the kiosk could be improved and updated to show everything they offer. They only have one kiosk to order from and it wasn't difficult to use but a very different than other "coffee/dessert" cafes

Yelp
Hang Loose Hawaiian Shave Ice is now Aviator Coffee. They remodeled and added more drinks to the menu, but still have shave ice and acai bowls. Interestingly, they also roast their own coffee beans, and the beans come from Colombia. They also have Armenian coffee, lemonade, non-coffee drinks, teas, etc. I saw some croissants, cookies, cakes, and muffins. They also have ice cream. The surfboard and the Hawaiian decor have been replaced by a more industrial look. I think it was more inviting looking before. There are only three small tables inside and some outdoor seating. You can place your own order from the kiosk. Cappuccino ($5.50): no foam art, but the flavor was better than I expected (not too bitter or harsh). It comes with whole milk or you can choose an alternative milk (for an upcharge). Multigrain muffin: this was small and sweet, with a very sweet jam in the middle, I couldn't eat the jam
google avatar

April A.

Yelp
The food and drinks are delicious and the service is super friendly! Their menu is extensive. They have coffee drinks, acai bowls, smoothies, shaved ice, ice cream, protein bars, Dubai chocolate, etc. The inside is small and quaint. There's a kiosk where you can place your orders. I found street parking out front, but they told me there's a parking lot in the back.

Yelp
The worker did not know English. Thought that if she put a lot of Dubai Kunafa in my ice cream, it would make it taste better, but it was awful. Also, they are false advertising the Toro looking milkshake on the menu. But in reality it was a Boba tea. I definitely would not recommend anyone to come here.
google avatar

Anara Y.

Yelp
Good drinks with a beautiful presentation. Fresh ingredients and creative touches. The fruit and floral-infused beverages stand out, featuring edible flowers and fruit pieces. Handcrafted dubai chocolates are testy and delicious . A broader selection would be a plus. Pricing slightly above average but justified by quality. Perfect for a evening visit.

Yelp
This place should be great, but they are not equipped to serve people in the tiny space that they have. It takes them a LONG time to make anything. If you are the only person there, fine... you wait maybe 10-15 minutes (which is still a long time for such a space). If they are waiting on more than one person you are waiting anywhere from 25-60 minutes for your order. That is unacceptable in an establish that boasts walk-up counter service. Great in concept, but to pull of what they are trying to they really need a MUCH bigger space with more staff to help them make orders in a timely manner. It's a shame, because their offerings are great. I won't go back, though.

Narineh S.

Yelp
I accidentally ordered an acai smoothie instead of an acai bowl on their screen, so I told the younger worker if I could switch and just pay the difference, as I didn't want a smoothie. She told the older woman, who I noticed had made the smoothie already, and she came around to show me where to click to order the bowl on their screen. I proceeded to tell her if it would be possible to pay the difference. She walked over to the man, likely the owner, and told him in Russian. I guess he calls all the shots? At this point, I was fed up and just told her to give me the smoothie. She didn't budge, nor did he, to make me the bowl. They gave me the most annoyed look as if I had asked them for this outrageous favor. I write this, in hopes that someone from this business will read this and take it as constructive feedback. Please understand that the 50 cents you would have lost to throw out the smoothie and make me the bowl I wanted, wouldn't have made you go bankrupt. I even offered to pay the difference. Customer service goes a long way here in America, so if you didn't know that before, please know that now. It would have left you a 5 star review for being nice and willing to make the item I actually wanted and offered to pay the difference for.

Yelp
Great place, great customer service! We have tried the avocado toast as well, everything was delicious. Definitely we will be back!!!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious coffee! I highly recommend Aviator coffee to anyone looking for a quick pick up. They will not disappoint!

Fio C.

Yelp
Service is nice but the coffee I got for $9 was really bad. I got a cappuccino w almond milk and it was almost a little bit sour. I wouldn't recommend this place for coffee. I didn't try the desserts but they looked nice

Sofiia P.

Yelp
Loved the iced tiramisu coffee very delicious! The staff was super friendly and made the experience even better. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
I really liked the drinks and the desert we tried, I'm definitely going back to try more desserts! Great costumer service too.

Yelp
Overall my experience with this place is a 4/10. The drinks weren't the issue, matter of fact I absolutely LOVED the ube matcha they had. It had me in a chokehold when I drank that ube cold foam. I've never had ube cold foam but wanted to try to make it at home because I loved it that much. However, the service was horrible honestly. They had a self ordering kiosk for you to place your order which I like, it made ordering easy for me. I will say though, I don't know if I'm a fan of the environment. First of all, the space in there is tight and small. That isn't a big deal, it's more so that the family associated with the workers, roam around taking up space?? I recall there being a group of children constantly running around and playing, which is fine if not done in the business where customers are trying to purchase your product. I don't understand why they couldn't play outside where there was seating or in the back. It's just already crowded enough and having running childrens didn't help. Secondly, there was a man along with those kids who would just randomly interact with guests as if he worked there?? But wasn't working.. like he'd ask if they're waiting in line to order or if they already ordered and then sometimes he'd randomly stand in the way of the kiosk and customers are unsure if he's ordering or what. Seems he got annoyed when a couple spoke up to move. Eventually he left the establishment with the children. Lastly, they need more workers forsure, there was only one guy really making the drinks and sometimes a lady from the back would pop up and help?? Idk if she was like busy washing dishes or something in the back but considering the long line, you'd expect a couple more hands on deck. Overall for me coming here isn't worth it. They definitely need a an improvement in the service. Such a shame because I loved the drinks :(
google avatar

Ray L.

Yelp
Horrible service and the food/drink took over 2.5 hours to get. Not worth the wait. I had to ask the server multiple times on when my order will be ready and they had no clue. They need a better system with tickets so the drinks/food that comes out has names on them because people had no clue on what drink is who's when it's done and on the table. Complete mess will never come here again

talar j.

Yelp
Amazing, the customer service is amazing. the food and drinks are so delicious. I got the dubai chocolate strawberry's and chocolate bar. A little over priced but still delicious. 100% i will come back. The ambiance outside is very pretty, and water fountain. Very quiet neighborhood. Definitely should try.

Ania N.

Yelp
Very disappointing. I used to go this location frequently with friends when it was a shaved ice place. Now it feels like the overdecorated millennial burger restaurant of coffee. We waited 45 minutes for 3 shaved ices (all small) and the quality was not great. Service was the bare minimum. There are few seating areas which were left dirty. No reason to come here at all.

Aigerim G.

Yelp
very cozy and atmospheric place - ideal for a quiet morning or a meeting with friends. I love their sweet breakfasts and desserts with dubai chocolate - it's sooo good

Anahit S.

Yelp
Got the ube matcha. Drink was "aesthetic" and tasty but it was $10 and 80% foam, so you're getting insanely ripped off. If you're going to set your prices so high at least fill the drink to the top...

Cindy P.

Yelp
Waited 45 for a shaved ice that wasn't even good. Had to ask for it 3-4x and ask to cancel the shaved ice order before they started to make. Their biscotti crepe roll was good. The spaghetti crepe thing was a no go. Dry. Tiny scoop of ice cream. This place is not equipped to service more than a few customers at a time.

Krystal L.

Yelp
Tried the biscoff latte and it was delicious. Easy ordering system and friendly staff. Would come again!

Maya F.

Yelp
My boyfriend and i decided to stop by to try some things from this place as we've been hearing a lot of good things. We were greeted by Hayk who was very kind and friendly. We were pleasantly surprised by the orders we received. Hayk carefully and artistically crafted our drinks. Everything tasted as amazing as it looked. The cafe was minimalistic and clean with unique aviation metal panels and rivets as tables and countertops. We highly recommend Aviator to anyone who wants to try new and unique drinks.

Kat A.

Yelp
$12 for a small drink is absolutely insane. I tapped my phone and paid without looking at the price and I was shocked to see how $$$ it was on my apple card the next day. Honestly such a rip off. I'm very disappointed that small neighborhood establishments take advantage of their customers like this. I will not return.

Joanna M.

Yelp
Came back to Aviator today and was really disappointed in my drink. I ordered the Thai Tea which I've gotten before. It was pretty good and my only complaint was that it was too small for the price($9). However, when I took a sip today it was completely watered-down. It didn't taste like anything, even though it was a bright orange. When I explained this to the woman working she seemed confused. Either way, she took it back and added something to it. When I got it back from her she said she added more powder. I thought she would dump out some of the milk and add more tea, so not sure what she meant by powder. Anyhow, when I got it back, it still didn't taste like much but I guess it was a little better than before. Very disappointed in how watery my Thai Tea was today, I'm not sure if I'll be back.

Tina M.

Yelp
this is a cute spot with good coffee and shaved ice but be prepared to wait for at least 40 minutes for a coffee. There is no sense of urgency as the employees work super slow.

Alyssa W.

Yelp
Horrible service and very unprofessional owner! Will never be coming back. Don't waste your time by coming here.

Nellie A.

Yelp
I waited over 45 minutes to receive the items in my order and 1 of them wasn't even correct. There was no way to keep track of my order, and 2 of my items were taken by other customers after being left at the counter. The coffee was horrible and not worth the price at all. The only thing I remotely enjoyed was the chocolate covered fruit, but I will never be coming back here again.

Panik Z.

Yelp
I decided to try this new and renovated location to try new menu items and Im very satisfied with my visit. Hayk helped me with any questions i had and was very kind and interactive. The drinks looked great upon presentation and their taste definitely reflected their looks. The cafe was nice and clean with minimalistic designs. 5/5 definitely recommend.

Kathrine B.

Yelp
My friend and I decided to come try this coffee shop as it's new to town and wanted to support them but was I disappointed. It took over 45 minutes to get 2 coffees 1 acai bowl and 1 chocolate covered strawberries. There is no receipt to show what you have ordered alongside an order number. They just make drinks as it goes. I think twice our items got taken by other clients. When our items did arrive, my "mango" was a slushy. The fresh strawberries were frozen. I didn't get nuts on my acai bowl when requested, instead I got this weird paste. The tiramisu latte tasted only like milk. My friends pistachio was horrible, no pistachio taste, not even a milk taste. Only 1 star because the chocolate on the covered strawberries was warm and actually good. Never coming back.

Mano G.

Yelp
New Go To Cafe in Glendale. Very nice and kind ladies, high end coffee and drinks. Russian style cafe standards are very high, the quality is great, they have Raf russian Coffee, many creative lattes, very nice dark sand coffee along with great desserts and waffles. Also still have the Hawaiian Ice Cones. 5/5
