Google
I recently purchased a bad of Furlong at a Mollie Stones Market in SF. Great espresso. Nice and smooth with a cocoa and slight cinnamon aftertaste. I’ll definitely buy more.

Tried the dirty turmeric latte at Avid and oh boy! While it was very different I enjoyed not having the same type of coffee I usually have. This place is so hip and must try

Alan S.

Google
While vacationing for a weekend in Petaluma, this was my first stop each morning to get my caffeine fix! Their Americano with an extra shot of espresso was perfect, and at a good price. I even bought a bag of beans to enjoy at home. The staff were courteous and efficient. Although relatively small, there is seating inside and out.

Google
Great matcha Latte, pretty busy and crowded on the weekends.

Google
The English muffin frittata (with bacon) was insane and the oat milk latte was delicious!! Wonderful atmosphere and the service was wonderful. Very over-priced but we were not at all disappointed in the taste and quality! 🎉 😋

Google
This coffee shop is a great spot with delightful drinks! The nitro cold brew was excellent, and I returned later in the day for a latte, which was also fantastic. Although there is usually a steady line, the baristas work quickly to prepare these delicious beverages. Definitely make it a stop!

Google
We only had an Earl Grey tea and an espresso...both on point! Nice casual atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, great neighborhood coffee shop!

Google
Hands down (or up!) one of my favorite coffee joints in town. Today, I tried a chocolate biscotti latte (decaf!) with almond milk. Pretty darn good, although Sergio said someone claimed that to be "the best drink they've ever had." Now, I wouldn't go that far, however it was tasty. Great latte art, Sam!!!

Yelp
Lovely coffee shop! Right across the street from the museum. Had a nice stroll around town and got a latte. High quality coffee. Great service and ambience. Plenty of seating options from single tables to long communal table. Good place to get some work done as well, not too loud, with natural lighting.
google avatar

Yelp
This place was recommended to us by multiple people. Got the worker bee latte (I think that was the name) which was mint and honey flavored. It was so good. The chocolate chip cookie was so good. I'm picky with chocolate chip cookies and this one made me happy. It was chewy with a little salt on top, and not too sweet. I'd come back if I'm in the area.

Yelp
I love the coffee and food at this location! The staff is pretty good, but a little bit grumpy for my taste. Not everyone but several of the staff are perpetually annoyed. I once read a review where the guy said "I like my old school Indie coffeehouse, where coffee is served with a generous side of disdain." That guy should definitely come here! The other reason I don't give it. A five stars is that the iced tea is incredibly weak. It's like when you drink 3/4 of your iced tea and all that's left is water... and then wait an hour and the ice has melted and you have water with a bit of tea... That's pretty much what they serve here! No point in making an Arnold Palmer with this iced tea even though they have pretty decent lemonade. They serve great toasts, like avocado, smoked salmon, etc. and they also have excellent gluten-free bread which is a plus!
google avatar

Briana V.

Yelp
They had a lot of fresh ingredients for their coffee. I chose to get just a standard latte so I was able to try the flavor of their espresso shots. I really enjoyed the ambience of avid coffee and the service was quick friendly into the point. I would recommend if you're looking for a coffee shop to try.

Yelp
I don't go too often, but when I need a fix for really good cappuccino in Petaluma then I make my way to Avid Coffee downtown . The cappuccino is amazing. Super tasty and flavorful, and I love the art they do on top. It really hits the spot- a great cappuccino. Inside is very cosy, some tables on the outskirts as well as one long large table in the middle, and some seating options outside. It's kinda a hip looking coffee shop, in my opinion. It's welcoming and fun. Service is always friendly when I go. Next time I do want to grab a bag of their coffee beans to take home, and I definitely want to try some of their breakfast options. If you're in town looking for a good coffee and a really really really good cappuccino, then definitely make a stop here.

Yelp
Stopped over to a coffee shop on the way to Sf and this was a such a gem and they are sustainable with recycling cups. Food: Boiled egg 5/5 recommend Drinks: Pumpkin spice latte with coconut - also a win. portion size: Hot = 12, 16, 18 oz service: Staff is super sweet and attentive Ambiance: great for any group. we sat inside and they have good vibes flowing with chill music. Parking: Street parking Payment: apple pay and card are both options. not sure about cash

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place while looking for a place that serves light breakfast and good coffee. Glad to have found this. I ordered the latte with oat milk and egg sandwich. Coffee was strong which I prefer. The egg sandwich was simple and I loved the muffin that was used. Strawberry shortcake coffee, a seasonal drink, is what my husband ordered. Man that was good! It's iced with strawberry puree. We loved how the coffee was still the star and the strawberry highlighted it. Fresh whipped cream too. Definitely get it. Breakfast burrito was also good. Service was quick. Modern place. Parking is easy.

Yelp
We were in the area and decided to stop by. The coffee shop is small but they have so much seating. There was some desk with lamps for people to work. I ordered an iced hazelnut latte. I lived that they use reusable purple cups. They had recycling bins all throughout the downtown. The coffee was pretty good price was regular. Customer service was pretty good. We overall had a good experience. I love that they are trying something new with the reusable cups.

Yelp
Worth the try: strawberry matcha latte, nitro dream Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte: the best strawberry matcha latte I've ever had--strawberry purée, matcha, oat milk. Simple, delicious, not too sweet. PARKING: Lots of free parking available outside. SERVICE: Servers were kind and quick to get us our drinks despite the long queue of people. ATMOSPHERE: Cozy coffee shop in Petuluma, ample indoor and outdoor seating. Stopped drinking my latte halfway through just so I could leave this review. I'm never one to get matcha drinks, but today was just one of those days. I've tried strawberry matcha lattes before, which typically have the layers showing and aren't mixed together. This one had the strawberry purée already mixed in (making me think there wasn't even strawberry in it to begin with), but man oh man, this was the tastiest strawberry matcha latte I've ever had and exactly what I needed. My partner and I stumbled upon this place looking for a coffee fix on our way back home to Sacramento, and we're so glad we did! Such a pleasant surprise and a great shop overall.

Yelp
If I could, I would give this coffee place 3.5 stars. There's nothing extra extraordinary nor offensive about the atmosphere. A little small and tends to be crowded. The coffee is just fine, but I've had better. Prices slightly on the higher side for what it is, especially when you have dietary restrictions and need plant milk and end up paying nine dollars with tip for a coffee drink. Been here a handful of times and service is pleasant enough, never rude, nothing extraordinary. Would not have a problem meeting someone here for coffee, but not somewhere I would go out of my way for if I wasn't right there. To break it down I would give ambience three stars, coffee 3.25 stars, cost 2.75 stars, and service 3.75 stars.

Yelp
Coffee was excellent here, very busy on a Monday afternoon so you know it's good! My husband had Cortado and I had a flat white with vanilla.Easy to park across the street. It was pretty crowded inside the cafe so we just coffees to go and walked around the charming downtown.
google avatar

Yelp
Lots of seating and outlets - perfect to spend a couple hours catching up with a friend or studying. Loved the big windows for natural light. Music wasn't too loud. Drinks were good, i got the honey bee drink. The mint was a little strong otherwise it was fine. Breakfast sandwich and burrito were piping hot when we got them, they could've been cooled a little before serving. And there were a bunch of flies at the tables at the window.

Yelp
Yesterday I woke up rather late after a writing marathon the evening before... arrived at Avid Coffee at approximately 2:50pm, in the nick of time to order their day's final cappuccino before closing time! Baristas James, Justin and Kirstin were super friendly and courteous, even at the close of their day. It's surely the best-tasting cappuccino in all Sonoma County, as well as a wonderful cozy atmosphere replete with espresso aroma and an array of indoor and sidewalk tables. I hadn't eaten breakfast yet, and felt fortunate to snag the one remaining gluten-free pumpkin muffin-- a delicious and nutritious choice with its walnut-pumpkin seed topping. My mid-afternoon continental breakfast at Avid was an awesome start to my late-running day. It's no wonder that Avid Coffee has won Best of Sonoma County for six years running.

Yelp
It's a bit odd having coffee in a plastic cup but it seems to have no effect on the taste. The dark roast is very good as is the service. The music is a bit loud.
google avatar

Yelp
Phenomenal coffee. So glad I didn't stop at [REDACTED] beforehand. I grabbed the seasonal peppermint mocha and it wasn't too sweet, and actually tasted like peppermint and mocha. Sam left me with this work of art to enjoy :)

Yelp
The environment was really cool love coming here. Great place to chill and get work done.

Yelp
Popped in because it was across the street from my meeting and was pleasantly surprised. It was mostly full at 11a with people meeting, working, and catching up with friends. Good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. By the numbers: Coffee 4/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 4/5 Value 4/5 Espresso - Very good. For a dark roast espresso, it was good. Decent amount of crema on the top, too. And in a ceramic cup with sparkling water, too.
google avatar

Jadon S.

Yelp
Breakfast sandwich: Really doesn't look pretty, but the thing tasted great. Definitely outperforms the Starbucks ones. You can just tell the ingredients are higher quality. You can add more to it but I just went for the base order. Salted Choc Chip Cookie: Also very good. Buttery and crunchy around the edges, with a little bit of bend toward the middle. Not too many chocolate chunks. This was a worthy pickup. Chai Tea Latte: Pretty spot on, but not quite sweet enough for me. Tasted more like a cardamom and black pepper milk water. Had higher hopes there but I'll know what to ask for next time. Apparently their matcha is pretty good.

Yelp
Real mellow atmosphere here, I feel like I could show up in sweats + a hoodie and be fully understood here. Employees were all beyond pleasant to interact with and even let me know the first drink I asked about was super caffeinated (which I mega appreciated and avoided) and then let me know alternatives. Speaking of alternatives, alt milks are available, thank you for that. The latte was elite and the baked goods equally delicious. New favorite spot

Yelp
Hi Rob, Thank you for the kind response and the information regarding purple cups. I understand the logic and appreciate the good will behind the reusable cups. Still not a fan of the plastic or purple, but what do I know. I'm a creature of habit and a fairly regenerative/ organic minded consumer, so I'll save my cup for my next visit to Petaluma:) Great customer service again, as always :) Thank you Best regards, Jon

Yelp
Quick customer service, and high quality coffee. Classic small coffee shop with some tables to work at or read a book at. Got a tip to stop by while in Petaluma and Avid did not disappoint. Bought a bag of coffee to bring home and I can't wait to go back. I recommend stopping by!

Yelp
Visited while on a weekend trip, and ended up going all three mornings in a row! Great coffee options, and phenomenal avocado toast. Inside was pretty packed, but there was always outside seating available. Very dog friendly!
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
We stopped in here yesterday for a much needed coffee and lunch. It was very easy to find, and there is plenty of seating (with quite a few people with laptops/working at the smaller tables). We sat at one end of a long-ish community table. We had cold brews (I added lavender syrup), and sandwiches, I had the turkey pesto and cheese. This may be one of the better sandwiches I have had - it came out very warm, the bread was perfectly toasted and buttery, and the cheese/pesto created a gooey deliciousness. It's also generously portioned. When in the area again we will definitely be back!

Judith V.

Yelp
If you want to wait 15 to 20 minutes for your coffee, then this is the place for you. It's such a bummer too since their coffee is actually good.
google avatar

Estela G.

Yelp
Long weekend Saturday pit stop after lunch and before wine tasting! Strong coffee to take us through an afternoon drive around Napa. We ordered a cold brew and a fall specialty latte. Now, we're looking forward to brewing these beans at home!

S H.

Yelp
95% of the time they have a magic touch on the Americano here, perfect coordination of nice heavy shots with piping hot water. Where else can you sip your drink while basking in the glow of an old Carnegie library!?

Yelp
I'm quickly becoming an avid fan (har har) but seriously, it's a great option in Sonoma and there seems to be quite a few of them. This time a had a cappuccino and thought it was quite good.

Bob And Betty D.

Yelp
Service is wonderful. The cookies are the greatest and coffee is outstanding. I would recommend for anyone looking for a coffee fix.
google avatar

Yelp
This place not only has excellent coffee and pastries, but the baristas and counter workers are incredibly kind, warm and welcoming! Can't wait to return to Petaluma for work just to have this experience again!
google avatar

Lucy F.

Yelp
It seems like Avid has figured out a fix for the long wait times, woohoo! I'm now a regular again. Their coffee is just so delicious, and their space is very inviting.
google avatar

Yelp
So cool, yet so warm. The friendliest, with great goods and better people watching. The music is inspiring, the crowd is inspiring, hell, I'm even into watching the toddlers discuss their all important ruminations.

Alexis R.

Yelp
Love this place! You should go for sure. They used to have really good food - haven't been in a while so not sure what they have now but check them out.
google avatar

Nathasha S.

Yelp
I loved their iced strawberry matcha. It was to die for. Smooth delicious matcha with freeze dried strawberries. It wasn't too sweet either! I would come back again in a heartbeat.

Yelp
Such great food, coffee and service. Sam specifically is always so friendly and thoughtful. Our family always comes to Avid because of staff like Sam and of course, the great coffee! Thank you!

Yelp
Favorite Coffee in Sonoma County! I recommend their Avid Dream especially in the warmer weather!

Yelp
Love, love, love Avid Coffee. Their handcrafted espresso drinks are far superior to their competition. They have a long list of made in house syrups. Today I tried the Rose Latte. It was the perfect combination of rich espresso and Rose syrup. The barista told me they made the syrup in the shop. It was perfect. I also ordered a mocha, because I don't get to this location as often as I would like. And hey, I'm a tired mommy who can never get enough caffeine. We also ordered a cinnamon roll and a crumble donut. (They are half off the last hour before they close.) The only reason they get five stars instead of four is their hours. They close WAY too early. 4 pm on weekdays and 3 pm on weekend. I wish they were open later. They should consider being open until 5 or 6. Either way it is worth a stop the next time you are downtown Petaluma. Just keep in mind their early hours so that you don't get left without your caffeine fix.
google avatar

G And M R.

Yelp
Dear Avid, I don't think we're the perfect match. I've seen behind the vail, you're just a pretty face, you're just a buttered-up, wannabe-organic Starbucks. Stop making more locations. All the best, G&M

Yelp
Great coffee shop located in Downtown Petaluma, and very reasonably priced! They were busy around noon on a Monday, and it was crowded in the store since a lot of people seemed to be working/hanging out at their tables. There was only a short line at the time, and I was in and out in 5-10 minutes (however, I didn't order an espresso based drink, and it'll likely take a little longer for mixed coffee drinks). I tried their Nitro Cold Brew (16oz/$4.50, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=fyGPpB5RVuGq_nV6olDUfg&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg), which was strong and smooth. I also purchased a bag of their beans, and they give you a complimentary cup of their brewed coffee- that was also really good! Their brewed coffee was flavorful and very smooth, and I'm looking forward to a pour over with the beans I purchased. They also had pastries available and the usual speciality cafe fare (avocado toast, breakfast sandwiches, etc). They had plenty of indoor seating available as well as a few tables outdoors. With the open windows there was a good breeze coming through the cafe. I hope to return in time and try their seasonal s'mores cold brew! Parking in this area wasn't too challenging to find on a Monday, since there was a good amount of street parking spots available; however, I could see this area being very busy on a weekend.
google avatar

Kiki N.

Yelp
The baristas here are incredibly friendly and accommodating--I really love an iced Americano with sparkling water, and this is one of the few places I can get one. The coffee is delicious, and you can camp out here and get work done (or at least pretend to get work done, haha). :)
google avatar

Marshall M.

Yelp
We came here for coffee this morning and it was great. We ordered a black drip coffee and egg nog latte. The drip coffee had amazing flavor and it was made with awesome coffee. The egg nog latte was perfectly made. If you are looking for a great cup of Joe give Avid a try you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Acre is a cool little coffee place with one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. I was up in the Petaluma area for an appointment, and had some time to kill so I decided I would stop in for a coffee and an egg sandwich. Neither disappointed, and that sammie will be on my mind for years to come. As far as parking goes, there is a lot across the street and a bunch of street parking out front. The indoor seating was closed because of covid, but they did have a few tables outside for outdoor dining. The ordering process was simple. You order and pay at the window, and then they call your name when the food or drink is ready. Everything is made fresh, so it takes a few minutes to get your stuff. I went for a mocha, and was pleased with it. Everything was as it should be. The egg sandwich had a fresh bun, which was sort of like a muffin, then the egg which was large and fluffy, bacon, cheese, and some sort of green. Spinach or kale or something? Not really sure. either way, it was amaze-balls. On top of the great food and ambiance, the service was wonderful. Everyone was friendly, prompt, and helpful. The next time I am up in the area, I will make it a point to stop in at Acre. It truly gives you the feel of a small town coffee shop.

Yelp
I stop here every time I'm in Petaluma. The coffee is great. The food is limited but good-breakfast sandwiches, toasts, lunch sandwiches and pastries. Highly recommend for coffee folks

Yelp
I have never been to this coffee shop before, but my boyfriend said a lot of people go there. I was pleasantly surprised to see a line out the door, as well as a number of people outside with their drinks. I don't mind waiting in line, since lines mean, the food and drinks are usually that, delicious and well worth waiting for! Lol the line took maybe 10 minutes, which was fine because I had no idea what I wanted! As I got closer, I noticed they had a seasonal drink menu, and I ended up ordering a pumpkin latte! It was made with homemade local Sonoma, pumpkin purée, syrup, as well as a combo of cardamom and nutmeg. Spices! My boyfriend thought it tasted too much like cardamom for him, but I loved it!! I loved their display of all their beans as well! I wish I could've had a coffee tasting with pour overs of each coffee! There were at least four I wanted to try!! I will definitely have to go back and try more of their drip coffee or buy beans for the house! I wish they had some gluten-free items, but I know that's hard to come by with dietary restrictions. Overall, I will definitely be back, and I loved my pumpkin spice latte!!!

Synthia D.

Yelp
I stop here quite often-great coffee and nice atmosphere. Disappointed today however, when I bought a pumpkin muffin and was charged full price even though a sign on the counter stated "all pastries 50% off" . The staff member even acknowledged the deceptive sign.
google avatar

Morolake T.

Yelp
This place is busy for a reason. Came here everyday for 4 days straight during a visit because it was so good. The Chai latte was perfect and my friends loved their cold brew. Highly recommend getting the avocado toast and the salmon toast as well as their croissants! We came by on a Saturday at 9am and they were backed up 20 minutes on making drinks--definitely recommend ordering ahead to save yourself some time.
google avatar

Tom S.

Yelp
Boy, Acre coffee is a real hit or miss proposition. Have had several cups of enjoyable hot chocolate and coffee at the Montgomery village store in Santa Rosa. This downtown Petaluma Store has twice sold me coffee and hot chocolate that is mediocre at best. Hot chocolate was watery, practically flavorless, and not even blended well. Lots of sugar residue on the bottom of the cup. Coffee was burnt tasting. Odd flavor, almost metallic. Is the water bad here? Got to surmise that the product is inferior and the baristas are talent free. Being served unsatisfactory drinks twice, No return for me.
google avatar

Cicely M.

Yelp
Came here for the first time a week ago and I'm still thinking about the mint matcha latte. Whenever I go to a new coffee shop, I try to get their house drip and something unique so I can get an overall feel for what they offer and Acre didn't disappoint. House drip: It's pretty good! It has some heavy fruit notes with a full body. Definitely worth checking out and I'll have to go back to try their other roasts. Mint matcha latte: Delicious matcha latte with a hint of mint that isn't too overpowering and isn't too subtle that you don't realize it's there. A perfect combination of creamy, matcha, and minty! Currently, they have outdoor seating but it isn't covered so it's open to the elements. This may change as the weather changes to winter. They have a bathroom available and open to customers at the back of the shop behind the wall of merchandise.

A. Joshua G.

Yelp
Fun spot to grab a snack and a beautiful and delicious worker bee. You will enjoy adventurous drinks with topped with bee pollen. With flavors of mint and honey backed up by a flavorful espresso. Designed by hand and served up with a smile. Work friendly environment with groovy music in the background.

Yelp
When in town, I become a total regular at Avid. A huge telling sign of quality coffee is the ability to drink it without having to add a bunch of sweeteners and Avid is just this. From their nitro cold brews to warm latte, Avid is the perfect place for a caffeine fix with some of the best coffee in Petaluma. When I'm not in the mood for a sweet coffee, I get their nitro cold brew with unsweetened almond milk and don't feel like I'm skipping on the experience. They also have varying breakfast options for a snack such as their Avocado Toast and vegan banana bread muffin. During peak times, it can be a moderate wait so I recommend ordering online before if you're in a rush. The baristas also are outstanding and find a way to connect with each of the customers.
