The Essential Downtown Atlanta Restaurants to Know

"This downtown food gem is deceptively hidden in the mall at Peachtree Center. While more of a food court than a mall, make a beeline to this Mediterranean food stall to build your own bowl, wrap, or salad with toppings like falafel, chicken or lamb shawarma, and salmon. Sides of sweet potatoes, grilled veggies, or creamy spinach are worth adding on. There is another Aviva by Kameel in Midtown at the Collective at Coda. Open for lunch." - Eater Staff

Google
Very authentic Mediterranean filled with great passion. The chicken soup is a must as is the rosemary chicken. We came late and just about everything was sold out. I was prepared to lick the pots. Food just that good.

justin

Google
Outrageously delicious with so many options for vegans. A falafel plate with three sides for $15, all of the sides are clearly labeled so you can tell which ones are vegan and wow talk about choices. Sweet potatoes, lentils, rice, roasted potatoes and more. The falafel itself is soft and delicious. They really pack a lot in for $15. I feel like this place caters to a lot of the hotel guests, students and downtown business people, but if you’re an Atlanta local it’s worth the trip downtown just to eat here. It’s really something special.

Google
My second time coming here since I'm in town for a convention and we always have to go here. The food and the service is spectacular. I love the care and thought put in to the food behind the owner and I love his morals and wanting to provide healthy food. I got the rosemary chicken and as always the baklava and once again it doesn't disappoint. A restaurant everyone must come to at least once in life.

Google
While attending a conference at the Hyatt this week a few people recommended Aviva for lunch and I finally stopped by today. My friend and I were warmly greeted by Chef Kameel himself who was warm and personable. I ordered the chicken shawarma with rice and spinach. The food was fresh and delicious. You can tell that everything was prepared with care. Aviva's is a true gem. Now I understand why the line was so long! It was definitely worth the wait.

Google
I absolutely love this place! Aviva by Kameel Downtown never disappoints. The owner brings such great energy. He’s always welcoming and genuinely seems to love what he does, which sets the tone for the whole experience. The staff are consistently friendly and make you feel right at home. The food? Always top-notch. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and served in generous portions. There’s a great variety, so whether I’m in the mood for something light or hearty, I can always find something that hits the spot. Plus, service is fast and efficient, even during the lunch rush. Every visit feels like a treat. Highly recommend if you're in the area. It’s one of those places you’ll keep coming back to.

Google
I had the best time of my life here!!! The owner kameel greeted my whole party and gave us tons of free food (falafel, lentil soup baklava). The food was just amazing and I love how it’s not trashy and processed.

Google
If you're averaging the categories, it should be 3 stars, but the reason why I dropped it down to 2 was for the portion size. A small soup is more than $8. I understand that everyone has to make a living and prices are going up, but it's ridiculous that a small soup costs that amount of money. And the big soup is like the price of an entree. When asking who looked like the manager do they have a combination with a soup? He just kept saying I can order anything I want. Well, I realized that, but I was trying not only to get what I wanted but to be economical. saw later that they do have a soup combo

Google
I was in Atlanta for a short work trip and I had lunch at Aviva twice. Both times the food was amazing, and the price very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. The staff was very welcoming, the owner even came out of the kitchen both times to ensure everyone was having a good time. To my surprise he recognized me from my previous visit and took the time to talk to me, get to know me, thank me for coming back and even offered some delicious pastries as thanks. Never have I felt so welcome and appreciated in a business.

Yelp
Great food and service and people . We went for lunch multiple times during g a chess tournament.

Yelp
Food is incredibly fresh and tasty. There was a LONG line during lunch time but the owner walks around with soup, chocolate, and/or watermelon to make them feel better while waiting lol. The environment is very welcoming and lively! It was a small gesture but I thought it was very nice of them! Also they just gave me a falafel for me to try while I was getting the food i love free food! Every food is good. I got rosemary chicken and roasted veggie. There's a reason why there's a long wait. I highly recommend you to try~

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch and the line was very long but they gave out samples which was nice! Chicken Shawarma Wrap - the wrap was very full and a lot of the toppings had a lot of liquid. The wrap fell apart when I opened it. The chicken shawarma lacked flavor and was very dry. Chicken Shawarma Platter - the platter was much easier to eat. The hummus was very smooth and creamy. Overall, I felt like everything lacked flavor.

Yelp
Amazing. The food is perfect, fresh and authentic, but the atmosphere and care for the customer is out of this world. The owner is so full of love and joy, words can not describe. If you like Mediterranean food, you owe it to yourself to try this place!

Yelp
This place. Oh man. What an oasis of incredible fresh flavors in what is otherwise just another mall food court inside of the Peachtree center in downtown Atlanta. This place sustained me while I was staying in one of the nearby hotels and searching for a fresh lunch. The 5 star Yelp rating (at time of writing) is absolutely warranted. It reminds me a lot of a place that I love where i live. Fresh flavors, unique and appealing spices, a charismatic owner who is both present and actively involved in making his restaurant amazing, and his customers happy. While waiting in line to order, he emerged with a tray full of cups of soup to give out to everyone as an aperitif, and to possibly entice them to order a whole bowl. Fresh food is continuously emerging from the kitchen, and it has to, because the line is steady but moves quickly thanks to their format. This keeps it all fresh, and you from waiting too long. I had mixed shawarma with rice, loads of roasted veggies, hummus, creamed spinach, red cabbage slaw, and pita. It was a plentiful feast, some of which came back to my room with me for a snack later. All of it was delicious, every component. Not to mention, it's a large and modern restaurant with plenty of tables to enjoy some peace, even if busy. This will be a must have anytime I find myself near downtown Atlanta. Healthy, delicious, runs like clockwork. Thanks Kameel!

Yelp
Aviva by Kameel is the highlight of the entire food court that it sits within. When traveling to Atlanta on business I saw the great reviews and had to try it. It was some of the best greek food I have ever had and it is a lively experience from the moment you step in line. The owner is very engaged and gives out free samples. We had falafel and soup. I was almost too full before we even ordered lunch. I highly recommend the falafel and hummus. So good!

Yelp
Oh yeah. This was one of the easiest five stars I've ever given. First of all the people were just amazing. And that's really why it's a five star. You just felt the love from them and the place. They gave us a free sample while we were waiting in line of the falafel and of the soup of the day which was a vegan soup. Both were delicious. They greeted us by asking us if it was our first time there, where we coming from, what mood we were in, all to try and help us pick what we wanted to eat etc. it was just genuine customer service and people bonding over a love of food. It's an assembly line of workers building your plate. First you pick your protein (chicken, falafel etc.) then you pick your sides (yams, veggies, salad etc), then you pick your sauces and breads and then any desserts if you want. At the end of the line you pay and grab a drink if you want. We got there at a perfect time because by time we finished ordering and paid, which was only 5 minutes later, the line went from just us three people to wrapping outside the door (about 30 people in line). The walls are a beautiful, vibrant green and white. There was a bunch of flowers around the place (not sure if it's real or not) and tunes playing from the speaker just slightly above a whisper so you can still hear while you're eating or engaging with your friends. I went with the falafel and the rosemary chicken. The falafel was a little dry and that's maybe because it was the end of the current tray of food and it was dried up a bit from sitting on the heaters for a while. But the chicken was well seasoned and was half a bird they gave me. It was so much that I had leftovers for lunch the next day and even that filled me up. I ended up paying just about 20 bucks for it not including tip. It was a great visit and I'd definitely come again when I'm back in Atlanta.

Yelp
You can never go wrong by going to this place!! The owner is always smiling and greets you with a hug or handshake. As he welcomes you into his restaurant. :) There is samples given out when you're in line to get your tastebuds ready for fantastic meal!! There's a lot to choose from. Enjoy!

Yelp
This is one of my to-go favorites when I'm healing and focused on healthy options! I've never been inside Aviva, I solely Uber Eat. - Salmon with veggies and brown rice - Salmon with veggies & salad These are the two things I've ordered from Aviva. The salmon is always perfectly seasoned and veggies are roasted well. What I appreciate the most is portion size and consistency every time I order !

Yelp
I have been working downtown for years now and have always walked by Aviva by Kameel in Peachtree Center, but have never actually tried it. I'm kicking myself now because I've been missing out on some truly delicious Mediterranean fare! I got the chicken shawarma plate with potatoes and cucumber salad, and the meal came with a falafel ball and two slices of pita bread. This was my first time trying shawarma, and it was hot and delicious with a great white sauce to complement it. I didn't realize until I left, but you can add some of the cold sides as toppings to the shawarma, which I will be trying next time. The potatoes were deliciously seasoned, and the cucumber salad was a perfect summer side. I can't wait to try everything else! In terms of the people at Aviva, I could not be happier. I was welcomed with a sample of vegetable soup (if it's still on the menu this winter, I'll definitely be getting a bowl). Kameel welcomed us loudly from the kitchen. It has the familiarity of a small, family-run business. I'll be back soon!

Yelp
Alright, alright! I'm pleased to confirm that this place is consistently worth the hype!! Not only is the food delicious and not overly heavy to justify on a near-daily basis, but the variety of options and consistently of quality mean that you don't get tired of it. Your best bet it is to go right when they open for lunch because they stay completely overflowing with traffic until they close. It's easily the best restaurant in Peachtree Center and as you'll often see on local Atl reviews, it's considered a local gem of Atlanta more broadly. I'm convinced it's single-handedly keeping the tenants of Downtown Atlanta office buildings renting in dt!!! ;) thank you for what you're doing for our city, Chef Kameel

Kevin M.

Yelp
We ordered the chicken shawarma and it was pretty good but a few chicken pieces were unevenly cooked. We understand these things can happen. Not the best first impression, but willing to give it another shot.
google avatar

Yelp
An absolute must if you enjoy this cuisine since it was my first time, they recognized this and offered me a little taste of extra sides along with my plate. One of the best falafel I've ever had. I usually don't like lentils and I could've eaten them all day long! Plus, you get a fresh slice of watermelon with your meal. The energy and vibe of this place will have you coming back for more in addition to the food! Service was excellent, and the attitude of the employees is stupendous. If I could've given more than a five star, I would have done so!

Yelp
Aviva earns top marks for its outstanding culinary experience, with their hummus standing out as a true highlight. Creamy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, the hummus at Aviva is a testament to their dedication to quality ingredients and expert preparation. Beyond the hummus, every dish on the menu is a masterpiece of flavor and presentation, showcasing the rich and diverse tapestry of Mediterranean cuisine. The welcoming ambiance and attentive service further elevate the dining experience, making Aviva a must-visit destination for food lovers seeking excellence in every bite.

Yelp
Jameel is the friendliest restaurant owner in Atlanta. His food is a staple for downtown and never disappoints. He is always trying new breads and spices, but nothing tops his homemade mix of white and wheat bread. This location does not give him the atmosphere this food deserves, but it is a great place e to grab a very tasty lunch.
google avatar

Yelp
Wow! I was really blown away by this restaurant, which I found from Yelp reviews. Luckily it was also located very close to our hotel. My sister and husband ordered the Rosemary chicken, and got two of their wide selection of sides. They loved it! I got the chicken shawarma and got the hummus and chicken soup for my side. The chicken soup was just simply fantastic. I could eat that daily. The hummus was also great, with the included warm pita. The food was a good portion size, enough for two people. I love how the price was very reasonable. Service was a little slow, as there was only one person working, but he took the time to make sure everything was to Perfection and he was very patient and friendly. There's ample seating nearby, and the building it's in is a little confusing to navigate, but we're able to find it without issue. There is street parking nearby. Overall, I would love to come here again in the future if I'm in the Atlanta area.

Yelp
Before even stepping foot in side the restaurant the owner of the restaurant greeted everyone who was in the queue and handing out food samples and soup. Service was fast and food was good. I would visit the restaurant again next time I am in town for conference.
google avatar

Dan M.

Yelp
In addition to amazing food, Kameel creates an experience that makes me wish I could come back more often! From the friendly, energetic banter to the complimentary soup while waiting in line, it's like no other. I had a falafel wrap with everything that was incredible. The complimentary soup was also delicious. In town on business and on my way out. Wish I had found this place earlier! Take the skybridges from the Hilton and you won't have to take a step outside!
google avatar

Al A.

Yelp
The food is absolutely fantastic. The owner who is also the chef will come out to greet you and is just a lovely person with a big heart and honestly cares about people that eat here! I would highly recommend this place haven't been too many across the country and across the world! Really great experience fantastic food! I am already salivating just thinking about my next trip to Atlanta and going to this restaurant!
google avatar

Risako M.

Yelp
Love that the chef-owner is up front serving his food along with many helpers. He shouts "I love you" to each one of his customers while serving them. The line goes fast. And the food was super delicious. I had Chicken Shawarma platter with falafels, steam veggie and lentils. Everything was delicious!!

Megan N.

Yelp
Never disappoints. Still the best falafel I've ever had! Don't sleep on the creamed spinach, I was scooping it up with the pita bread it was so good.
google avatar

Graham K.

Yelp
I've been here a few times. A couple times during the lunch hour during a regular business day. A couple times during conventions like DragonCon. The line is always out the door. The owner comes and hands out free samples of soup or chicken or falafel. Everybody is really nice. For being food court food this stuff is amazing. It tastes legit Mediterranean. The inside is bright and is clean but is busy. The line is worth the wait

Saffie Muna J.

Yelp
I love the quality of food & of course the positive vibes . I truly look forward to my meals . Kameel strives for excellent service & knowing his customers!
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
The owner sings, and chants and welcomes everyone in loudly and warmly. "No pork no seed oil no junk! We only use olive oil to fry our falafel. Hello young man, hello gorgeous come in please. Eat! We only use good food because we care about what our guests are eating. We love you!" It's honestly insane. He hasn't stopped since I got here. This place is incredible, the food is fresh and delicious. I don't know another place like it in atlanta.
google avatar

Jared W.

Yelp
I hate leaving a review that's anything less than stellar because the owner and staff are all so pleasant. The food just doesn't measure up unfortunately. I've eaten here a few times, since it's near my office but the food has been consistently average. All of the meats (I've tried chicken schawarma, rosemary chicken, and salmon) are fairly flavorful but very dry. The sides are hit or miss - I love the red cabbage and cheesy spinach, but the grilled vegetables are flavorless, and I wasn't a fan of the green cabbage. The baba ghannoush was a standout in a negative way for me; normally I'm a big fan but not Aviva's version. Portion sizes are average for the price. As previously mentioned, the staff are super pleasant, albeit a bit slow, and they frequently give out small, free items as you wait.
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
This is the best goddamn restaurant in the Peachtree Center mall. The food tastes as fresh as advertised, the flavors are complex and out of this world, and to top it off Kameel's cheery disposition is infectious, even when he isn't handing out free food and snacks to people waiting in line. His employees are equally positive and passionate, and when he calls you a friend and says that he loves you, you can tell he really means it. 10/10, will continue to eat here during future Dragon Con's.

Yelp
I am in downtown Atlanta this week for a conference, and came here for lunch upon all the fantastic Yelp recommendations, and it lived up to all the hype and surpassed my expectations! While I was waiting in line, we were served samples of yummy soup which was a preview of the delicious food to come! I ordered the chicken schwarma platter with lentils and baba ghanoush. (I also asked the server to sprinkle some greens on top.) The chicken breast was very moist and flavorful which is very hard to cook right, and it was texturally balanced by the slightly crunchy onions. The lentils were the most amazing ones I've had at any Mediterranean restaurant, and the baba ghanoush was perfectly smoky and tasty- the best accompaniment to the fluffy pita. I live in Orange County, CA where Mediterranean restaurants abound, but Aviva is the most memorable one I've eaten at! I raved about it to my colleagues right after eating here, and will definitely return next time I'm in Atlanta!
google avatar

Magda N.

Yelp
This restaurant has 5 stars for years in a row with now 1700+ reviews, so I'm not about to burst it! The food is good and the service is great. They are all really nice and helpful with recommendations, if you tell them you don't know what to get. You can get a wrap or a plate. Chicken shwarma is the most popular option and they're pretty good. We also try the falafel, it's moist, wish it stays crunchy though but still good. FYI the wrap isn't in pita bread but more like tortilla. For the condiments, definitely recommend a little bit of everything. The little burst and pop from the veggie juice really elevates the meaty bites! The hours are pretty short. Weekday close at 3pm, probably because it's located in a business area. Weekend open occasionally, this one cracks me up. You never know if they're gonna open or not!
google avatar

Steven L.

Yelp
Located in a strip mall, aviva probably stands out above the other restaurants here. Mediterranean food served cafeteria style, perfect for a quick lunch. While waiting in line, they offered some free vegetable soup, which was hot and quite peppery, which I liked. The owner calls everyone handsome or beautiful, a nice compliment to perk up anyone's down day. Overall, the food was pretty decent, and there are a lot of options to choose from. I got chicken shawarma with hummus and baked eggplant ziti. I always like to try the hummus at mediterranean spots, but I found it to be pretty mediocre. This place is good for a cafeteria style meal, but I had to give it 4 stars because I had some better mediterranean food one day later at a restaurant with comparable value.

Yelp
Had Chicken Soup and Lamb Shawarma Plate with Baba Ganoush, Penne and Cabbage. All food was Excellent and Authentic. Great service. Owner walked around and handed out lentil soup cups.

Yelp
After a Yelp search for Atlanta's best healthy food, we found Aviva and stopped in for a quick lunch on our way to the airport. First... the address listed will take you to the office building next door. But the security guard was kind enough to lead us in the right direction (he said it happens often). Second... Aviva is a part of a food court type of arrangement in an office building. We arrived to a line almost to the door (that grew to outside the door by the time we left). As you're ordering, you're greeted by the Chef/Owner Kameel who is so friendly and welcoming. Staff even offered samples of the soup to folks who were waiting in line and it was at the first bite that we knew we were in for a treat. Everything is very fresh and cooked with so much heart. We ordered the salmon (incredible) and several of the veggie sides. Everything we tried was so, so good. Highly recommend and will definitely be back on a another trip through Atlanta.
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
This was great! So authentic, fresh and delicious. Familiar flavors but done in the tastiest possible way. Must try! I got the salad with chicken shwarma, veggies, hummus and tahini. The side piece of bread may have been my favorite part so definitely say yes to it. They passed out free soup to people in line and the owner came out twice to check on everyone.

Yelp
By far some of the best food I've had the pleasure of eating in my entire life. I've stayed in the area for business too many times to count but somehow I've missed out on this gem until recently. My friend and myself were looking for something unique and good to eat for lunch when we saw the line, we knew we had to give this place a try. While standing in line we were given samples of soup to taste. I was told it was vegan vegetable soup. I am not vegan nor vegetarian but WOW! This was some of the best soup I've ever had. I ended up getting a bowl of it along with my order. What I ordered: rosemary chicken platter with the vegetable soup as one side and roasted vegetables as the other side. There's a sauce that perfectly pairs the chicken GET IT AND GET AN EXTRA SIDE OF IT ($)! The rosemary chicken is an entire leg quarter, talk about value for your dollar, and it's perfectly seasoned and prepared. I was dipping the chicken into my extra sides of sauce. Whatever they use to make that sauce, I want to buy it by the gallon lol. My friend got the lamb shawarma which was absolutely delicious, if I had more stomach real estate to work with I would've ordered that as well. She also got the roasted veggies as a side for her platter but she got the chicken soup which was this cream based chicken soup and you guessed it...it was EPIC as well. There is some seating in this restaurant, we were one of the first to enter so we grabbed a table for two. The place is really quaint. Nice lighting, the food court for the area is right out front so if there's no seating inside the restaurant there's plenty of seating around. I loved that Chef was there saying hello, and welcoming us in. You hardly see that kind of professionalism outside of fancy restaurants. There's so many awards on the walls and shelves as you make your way into the restaurant and through the line and now I absolutely understand why. I cannot wait to visit the Atlanta area to get some of this amazing food again. I'm bringing a lunchbox to take some of this back with me to Florida lol.

Maria S.

Yelp
Awesome service and fresh food, Always good food and service, never a bad experience there. You will not regret going to this place.
google avatar

Hailey R.

Yelp
I've had friends RAVE about Aviva so I was excited to try the food! It was good, but I wouldn't say I'm rushing to go back necessarily. It seems like they have lots of healthy and seasonal foods for lunch if you're in the area though. For dinner, I got the Rosemary Chicken Platter with Sweet Potatoes and Creamed Spinach. If I was to do it again, I would get falafel instead of the chicken and swap the sweet potatoes (too sweet for me / very cinnamon-y) for tabbouleh or hummus or something. I also didn't love the soup I split with a friend -- can't remember exactly what was in it, but it lacked flavor for me while also being too heavy. On the flip side, I really liked the creamed spinach -- the parmesan really pops and it is soooo rich! The service was incredible -- the woman working was really helpful in choosing items (since there's not much labeling). Overall, Aviva is definitely the best spot within the Coda space!
google avatar

Aya E.

Yelp
Ordered: The Beast (~$11): chicken shawarma, falafel, hummus, baba ghanoush, tabouleh, cabbage salad, onions, tahini, pickles Aya's take: Although no longer called The Beast on their menu, if you ask for a sandwich with chicken shawarma and falafel, they'll refer to it as The Beast. I love the wrap over the pita bread but there was almost too much wrap and not enough of everything else inside it. The flavors were pretty good but the portion could have been better. Complimentary vegan soup while waiting online and since I was picking up a larger order, they through in some free watermelon slices. Great customer service!
google avatar

Libby P.

Yelp
This place is so good!!! I get the falafel platter every time now. The way the flavors all meld together make me so happy! I don't know how kameel makes his minestrone taste like it has beef, but it's no in there. It is all vegan. I asked him how he makes it. Haha. He won't say. He just says he makes it with love!
google avatar

Sarah H.

Yelp
Delicious homemade Mediterranean meal! I wish I lived near so I could eat Aviva by Kameel every week! The cafeteria style line moved quickly, everyone was very friendly, and I was offered a free cup of veggie soup (I think by the owner?) and slice of watermelon. I still think about how good the food was here months later. Note: it's inside a large indoor mall that I had to enter and go down stairs from street level, and I had to walk around to find it. Don't give up, it's worth it!
google avatar

Sharita C.

Yelp
Man listen!!! They have this rosemary chicken that falls off the bone and seasoned to perfection!!! Everything is fresh and oh so good! Definitely stop by and give them A try!

Yelp
Aviva is an amazing restaurant that serves incredibly good food, with a staff and service crew that always makes one feel welcome. The staff succeed immensely in their efforts of making sure all customers have a very good time, and the atmosphere of the restaurant being nice as well. It is also run by a chef with integrity, Chef Kameel, who also works to always put a smile on his customers' faces. My personal experience at this restaurant was amazing, and I will make sure to always go at least once while I'm in Atlanta.

Yelp
"I love you bro!" That's what Kameel told me and pretty much everyone else who walked into his restaurant. Come to this place for great food, courteous and clean staff, large servings, and a huge helping of love from Kameel. I ate here twice while I was in town at the Hyatt for a conference. I learned about it from another conference attendee who raved about it. This man and his restaurant is an institution and testament to his love for his customers. and to Kameel...I love you bro! Yelp
Tried this place while here for work and can't say enough good things about it! The staff was super friendly and giving out tasting cups of vegan soup. The food is AMAZING! Great spot all around.

Yelp
Lives up to the 5 stars. At a conference nearby and walked to this food court with some colleagues. The owner was working behind the counter hyping up the guests and passing our fresh piping hot falafel. The line was discouraging but moved fast. The chicken shawarma was great.

Yelp
Food is delicious! I got a platter with falafel. The wait is looong! But so worth it. While in line the chef came out to say hello and gave out samples. The kitchen is literally in the back making food as the line goes. Can't get any more fresh. Fresh, clean and filling. Hits the spot when you are hungry and want a comforting meal. I'm going to grab a falafel wrap for the plane ride home.

Yelp
Ate there for the first time on Saturday night of DragonCon. Owner gave me a sample of the best baklava I've ever had and was extraordinarily friendly. Got the salmon with creamed spinach and rice with a bottled coke. All for about $20. I've spent five times this at other restaurants and not received the quality of food or service. The salmon was perfectly seasoned and cooked, the creamed spinach was the best I've ever had and the rice was subtly delicious. This after Saturday of DragonCon and I'm sure they were physically and mentally exhausted. I already plan to go back next DragonCon and will take my friends with me.

Yelp
I went to a wedding up in Tennessee in October, and on the way I decided that I should stop by Atlanta for what has been in their top restaurants for a long time now. You gotta find street or garage parking and then walk to an underground food court underneath a giant business building of some sort. This place has a following, and for good reason. A mega line was out the door, but they kept it moving like a conveyor belt. All while offering free samples of the lentil soup to everyone. All while a man in the kitchen was yelling at everyone welcome in and thanks for coming back to the people he recognized. There was a good vibe. We got two platters, one chicken shawarma and one salmon. The chicken looked like it was gonna be dry and need sauce, it wasn't. It was juicy and spiced to the nines. So good. Very earthly with a little kick. The salmon, dear Lord, the salmon was on another level. It was sauced with an almost-sweet chili sauce sauce, and it was tossed with many different types of peppers. Very, very good. Sides. Falafel, was lovely. Great falafel with a nice crisp. Creamed spinach, wow! I've never had such creamy spinach, I was astounded. Sweet potatoes, so sweet. So unctuous. I liked it. And finally the mmjadara. This was a lentil dish with caramelized onions. This was the most unexpectedly delightful side I've had all year. I'm not kidding. If you're even an hour away from the ATL, stop here just to try this. Overall, yes, this place is worth the hype and the already five stars it has. I don't even know why I'm reviewing it. It doesn't need my help. I'll give it a sixth star. There you go.

Yelp
I come to Atlanta once a year for a convention, and every single year I go to Aviva. "Friendly" is an understatement, you get welcomed in like family when you step through the door. Some of the best falafel I've had period, and honestly everything i've ever ordered was incredible.

Yelp
So friendly! So make sure you know it's just a casual mall food place but has amazing food and it's own nice seating are. Owner and all employees are so friendly. And helpful. I looooved their falafel and baba ganoush - I would have been happy with just that. But I got the rosemary chicken and a lentil/onion side which was amazing as well and they threw in a free falafel and a free sample of a veggie soup. I would definitely come here again for a casual lunch or takeout and wish I lived in Atlanta so I could try everything!

Yelp
We walked into The Hub and saw a line wrapped outside the door. Very glad we stayed and waited. As we waited the owner came out with cups of delicious lentil soup for everyone on line. It was flavorful and well spiced with various veggies. He reappeared a few minutes later passing out hot falafels to us as we waited. Once we got to the ordering counter the owner again greeted us with such enthusiasm and genuine appreciation for his customers. The lady in front of us ordered the rosemary chicken, which was a huge slab of 1/4 chicken. She turned to us behind her and said "oh my goodness" based on how much chicken she was about to eat. I ordered the chicken shawarma with 2 sides, roasted vegetables and eggplant ratatouille. There are around 6-10 sides to choose from each day. The chicken, and all meats, seem to be served with two falafels added. The food was super flavorful and plentiful. The vibe is full of energy, the place is very popular, all of the staff are friendly and enthusiastic, and the food delivers. I walked away feeling good that the owner is running a crowded and successful restaurant because the 1 minute total I interacted with him made me believe he deserves it.

Yelp
Everything about this spot is great! Perfect location, in terms of being close to my conference hotel, surprising speed for such a long line, amazing food, and helpful staff. I got the falafel platter. It was delicious!!! I unfortunately wasn't able to eat it hot (had to present at said aforementioned conference), but the falafel were still fluffy, crisp, and tender when I ate them cold an hour later, which is a feat! The baba ganoush and hummus were also delightful and the sesame bread to mop it all up was yummy (request that instead of the pita). While I was waiting in line, they passed out bowls of an incredibly flavorful veggie, lentil, and quinoa soup for FREE! And they gave out Lindt truffles, because, why not? Just go here-- you won't regret it!
