Lovely atmosphere with all the live plants and decorations and the food is some of the best tasting in all of Sarajevo. The service could be better, maybe understaffed a bit on a busy Saturday night where every table was full and there was just one server tending everyone’s needs. Guess that’s part of the vibe though, to feel like you’re at Grandpa’s home and he’ll get to you when he can… Overall I’d return since the food tasted great, portions were good, and price was fair. One of Sarajevo’s unique gems!

Breakfast we got was awesome! We got classical breakfast plate. There were two big sausages, 4-5 fried doughs, cream and jam, salad, cheese, and fried eggs (sunny side up). Portion was more than enough and we were all happy with what we got. Staff was not the friendliest but yet helped us a lot. The atmosphere needs a mention and it was just so welcoming with huge plants and old antic stuff… you can eat your meal and enjoy your breakfast in this hidden gem. Plus, the restrooms were so clean, we were so happy with that, too.

I found out about this place when I was looking for kleppe. It has a small entrance that can be missed easily. Inside is really cozy. The food was really tasty and the portions were really generous. We’ve tried kleppe and meatballs in a bread bowl.

Okay, we literally hiked to get to this spot. We walked for about 40 minutes because we’d heard it was amazing—and honestly, even that doesn’t fully explain how great it is.
We ordered a side dish called lokumi as part of the breakfast at Avlija, and the kaymak and jam were insanely good. They also serve side salads, delicious sausages, two eggs, and black tea.
All of that came to around 38 BAM, if I’m not mistaken. It’s a really cozy place—you kind of feel like you’ve teleported out of the city and into a small town full of greenery and locals. You forget you’re actually still right on the street. Totally worth it.

Great food, great atmosphere. Just a very nice and unique garden with lovely personel. We tried the Begova Soup and Maslanica. The Soup is a must! The protions are huge. We had Soup (almost got full) and shared one main dish.

I have never ate before like this fried dough (lokumi). We all three friends loved this breakfast with kajmak (special milk butter) strawberrie jam, honey and black tea. We definitely recommend Avlija. Pls remember that each lokumi box has 7-8 pcs of lokumi. It is a big size portion for one person.
There are lots of plants there, authentic atmosphere, warm place…

We ordered three different dishes. All three were very good. The atmosphere was very sweet. It is one of the few places in Sarajevo with a different concept. You should definitely try it.
