My coworkers and I went here after work, we just walked in and we were seated in the "wine room" I wish I had gotten a photo, the room felt VIP, even though we weren't, it was small and semi-private room with three or four tables in it. When we got there we had it to ourselves. The room still had plenty of "windows" that allowed us see outside of the room, but between the window were covered in different types of wine. While we had a lot to talk about, if the conversation lagged, we talked about different types of wine we'd like to try in the future. The staff was very patient while we made our decision.
Now the important part, food.
Appetizers: The dates stuffed with Gorgonzola were the stars of this charcuterie board, they were also wrapped in prosciutto. I am generally not a fan of sweet and savory foods, but the saltines of prosciutto balanced with the sweet date and creamy Gorgonzola perfectly. This may be pretty common but it was a first for me. The flavors were sweet, creamy and savory. but it was perfectly balances with the sweet date and creamy cheese.
The crab dip: I am sad to report that I cannot eat crab, so sadly I will not report on the taste, my friends all told me it was delicious though. And it definitely looked great. I cannot personally recommend.
Cheese: We ordered three cheeses, Manchego, whipped feta and dirt lover, a semi soft cheese from Missouri. My favorite was the whipped feta, lighter than whipped butter, whether on the pita or baguettes it was delicious, lightly sweet and very creamy, it left a nice after taste that makes you keep going for more.
Meats: I actually didn't get a taste of the prosciutto on its own, (you snooze you lose) but based on the dates, I'm sure it tasted delicious on its own as well. next meat was the N'duja, spicy spreadable pork sausage, delicious, nice kick but definitely not overpowering. When you think of spreadable pork may be a little daunting but it didn't have a mushy texture, I didn't think about it too much it just tasted like meat crumbled.
Sun-dried tapenade, has sun dried tomatoes with Kalamata olives, lemon and capers, even just as four flavors listed, it tasted more complex that it was, which was great, every bite tasted a little different. If you don't like olives, you'll enjoy this too, because it was not overpowering olive taste, but it was still evident it was in it.
Wine: I'm a red wine drinker- I ordered a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon then a merlot. I'm not a wine connoisseur. But if you've never had red wine, both are dry wines, I preferred the Cabernet with this selection, there were a couple of sweet items on the charcuterie board and I preferred a wine not so sweet with this combination.
Overall I really enjoyed this experience great place to wind down after a hard day with some pals or just a chill night out with friends.
