So I finally came to see what all rave and talk about Avo's was all about! So I was told that the food at this restaurant was "feast" inspired like the feasts during the summer!
I understood the whole concept, but the food quality looks nothing like something you would get at the feast!
So I got the Mozimbique sandwich, fries, and some favas... So the Mozimbique is soaking in this sauce that I myself couldn't distinguish if it was Mozimbique or not... It could've of used less beer and more sazon for more flavor!! Let's just say they were not afraid to use hot sauce! I live close by and by the time I got home my sandwich was no longer a sandwich but a sloppy and soggy mess! The best thing about my meal was my fries to be honest! The favas were just plain with no taste and again loaded with hot sauce!
I'm sorry but if your trying to portray Portuguese food as a fast food, at least get the taste down packed! I think they need to revisit their recipes and tweak them a bit and make them more authentic! Being Portuguese and all I've had better Portuguese food then what I just had for dinner!
I gave them 2 stars for the effort and that they had my favorite dessert, flan! But if the flan is floating on the same boat as the food, I'm not sure if I'd be coming back here...
Reasonable pricing, but I would like to see the quality and taste of the food become more authentic to be worth it!
