I had celebrated my son's girlfriend's birthday and we had a wonderful experience. Food was delicious. Service was Top notch. It took me 3 days to finish what I ordered which was a chicken parmesan sandwich on a brioche bun. That was absolutely delicious with some garlic butter, french fries.

The food was brought out in a timely manner. The place is clean and beautiful inside. Patricia was such a delight to be served by. Great energy, professional, and knows how to connect with the patrons, not just from my interactions, but seeing her around the place! Will surely be back as this is now a go-to spot!

It was just a lovely luncheon get together for just the ladies we work with- the waitress was so attentive, the atmosphere was wonderful, the food was delicious and the service was spot on, they gave us a free appetizer because one meal was not ready with the rest of the meals. Overall it was a great time had by all it was an excellent choice and we definitely will return!!!!!! The prices of the meals were very reasonable also. I highly recommend this place.

Honestly the food and service cannot be beat. Especially sitting at the bar. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. Leave it to Rachel to always come up with the best drinks and conversation. Whether it’s my usual or trying something new. It never fails. Literally everything is fantastic. I always get the chicken piccata over linguine. Highly recommend

Not sure what happened. We grew to enjoy this restaurant in 2024 but returned recently to find a changed menu, mushroom pasta swimming in oil, dry parmesan fries, and a tuna sandwich which left a lot to be desired. The drinks were nice and the espresso hit the spot. Service was great as always, but I hope the kinks in the execution of the new menu are being worked out.

Our waiter Connor was excellent!! My friend has allergies to gluten, he answered her questions on some of the entrees& was very accommodating to her needs! Our food was delicious. We will be back!!

Stopped in for a solo lunch and sat at the bar—was greeted and helped right away. I ordered the chicken piccata (my favorite dish) and it did not disappoint—so good! It was my first time there and they knocked it out of the park. Had a glass of wine that paired nicely and the prices were very reasonable. Ian behind the bar was super friendly and easy to chat with, which made dining alone feel really comfortable. Great experience overall!

Fancy! This place is much more upscale than expected for it's location within a shopping center. I came here for a work lunch with a client. I ordered the "mixed greens" salad with salmon. It was one of the BEST salads I've had in long time! The combo of the apple chunks, beets, goat cheese and dressing was fantastic. And the salmon!! Even though it was a generous portion size, I could have eaten more because it was soo good! I would definitely consider coming back here if I'm in the area again :)

Celebrated my cousin's baby shower at Avvio and had an amazing time! There happened to be a farmers market going on the day of the shower, limiting parking, but it looked like a beautiful market. The food was great! I really enjoyed my Cesar salad, which was made with anchovies (the correct way!) and my panini. My espresso martini was also very good. Most importantly, the service was incredible. Trisha and (I'm so mad I can't remember his name - it was something like Chris or Joe... but my mom snapped a picture of him, included in the review) were so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed for the baby shower.

Came here for restaurant week. The inside is spacious and nice! We were seated pretty quickly which was nice. We ordered drinks but they both came with items floating inside which was gross but our waiter had them remade after inspecting them thoroughly. We noticed every table but ours was given bread so when we asked about getting some the waiter was like "oh yeah, I can get you some". Our waiter was hard to find after that, maybe we rubbed her the wrong way with the drinks. We ordered food and it was good. The mushroom pizza was great and the chicken sandwich was HUGE. The calamari was nice but I didn't love the aioli at the bottom. The eggplant was also nice but could have been a little bit crispier. The drinks (minus the floating stuff) were good. I'm not entirely sure if I'd come back but besides the service mishaps the food quality was nice.

So nice to have this somewhat upscale, yet approachable spot near our house. The menu is extensive and has something for pasta lovers and those who prefer less traditional Italian fare. Pricier, but good quality. Service is always on point and some nice outdoor seating for the summer months

Avvio is a solid Italian restaurant. The candle lit atmosphere is great for date night or friends gathering. The service was excellent, attentive and friendly. A good appetizer was the crispy spiced artichokes hearts, dipped in white bean puree. The wood grilled mushroom pizza, with added sausage, crisp crust & good sauce hit the spot. Our favorite must try dessert is the Affogato, it's so yummy. The vanilla gelato with Amaro liqueur and a shot of rich & roasty espresso poured on top is Bam! A Great ending!

Part of the garden city restaurants so plenty of parking but may be hard to find one if it's a busy day. Had the Ck piccata $20 with mashed and g. beans and it was delish. Also came with a Bread basket for the table which wasn't all that. Croquets were just ok. Could do without it. Coffee was good to end the night but service was lacking and it wasn't busy either. It's clean inside and low lighting for a cutesy date .

I went here tonight with a group of 7 coworkers for dinner. The white and red sangria were both phenomenal. I had the penne con pollo which was a huge portion and was delicious. Ask for the focaccia bread for the table, so good. The only negative was that it was extremely hot in the restaurant and everyone at the table was overheating. Overall, I enjoy the atmosphere. It's a convenient location and great place to meet up for a drink as well!

My first but certainly not my last visit! Super star service and delicious food. Make a reaervation, if you can, because it is one popular joint. I love that they have a wide selection of mocktails for lunchtime - or Dry January - imbibes!

Wonderful spiced pear cocktail was all I wanted. I really like the bar here but apparently my favorite bartender is gone. I didn't find the two female bartenders attentive at all. But they were to the other patrons.

This one of my favorite place to go for lunch, the food is amazing, i ordered the eggplant parmigiana with linguine omg delicious the egg plant is fresh soft, saucy and cheesy. The service is also phenomenal. They are on top of the game for time and on point with the refills. Ambiance is great you can feel the positive energy with the people enjoying their food. I recommend this place for sure.

Food was amazing and the service was great too I recommend getting the crispy artichokes as appetizer and the chocolate ganache tart was one of the best chocolate pies I have ever had. great place overall

Had a nice outside dinner on the patio tonight! I tried something different the risotto & asparagus with grilled Shrimp & it was out of this world! My husband had encrusted cod it was great too! Great service & nice fall weather & pretty string lights everywhere .

We had a nice lunch. The restaurant is very attractive. Our server was wonderful. The food was good. We enjoyed their eggplant.

Always nice to have a ladies who lunch moment on a shopping day with Grandma! We wanted something healthy and light, and Avvio always does the trick. The air conditioned interior was a welcome respite from the sweltering heat wave outside, and we were ushered promptly to a comfortable and cushy booth in the smart Sinatra inspired dining room. Our server was friendly and was doing her best with a busy section, however, when our drinks came, the iced tea was super watery and even after a refill of fresh tea, it did not remedy the situation. I switched over to Diet Coke and our server was hospitable enough to take the ice teas off the final bill, which was much appreciated. The food looks delicious, and I'll definitely be trying that Gnocchi on a future visit. However, I was looking forward to an Elite Event later that night, and wanted to eat lighter with their wonderful Caesar salad. The dressing tasted homemade, and I would totally order again. We'll be back for sure!

Hands down one of my go to spots for a solid dinner. One of my favorite Newport Restaurant Group restaurants! They start you off with a bread basket and olive oil. Their chicken Milanese is great. Any salmon dish I've had here is amazing and do not sleep on the crispy artichokes for an app!

My wife and her friend went to Avvio for the first time for Valentines dinner. Nice place. Waitress Jacqueline was very nice and attentive. Pleasant personality and did a nice job. Food was fair at best. My Bolognese was saucy not an authentic Bolognese sauce. Pasta was not fresh a little under cooked and was Rigatoni not Pappardelle or Alfredo which would be better. But we started with calamari this was bland. The black bean? Sauce ruined the little flavor there was. All in all it was a disappointment for this type of restaurant. The manager stopped by and introduced himself He was dressed like he was a maintenance worker. Many areas need improvement

Even though I have been going to Avvio's for many years and love the food and service is outstanding. We usually never sit at a bar but we have requested every time we go we love it. Thank you Christine and Racheal the two of the best bartenders we've ever had! They make a great team. Watching them serve many different personalities is amazing. After a long day at work to be able to relax and enjoy a beautiful dinner. I sincerely want to thank you both.

My wife & I tried Avvio because we had a Gift Card and we had a wonderful experience. We walked in at 430p with no reservation and the gentlemen at the host table was super nice and sat us right away. Our waitress Asia was outstanding! We started with a Margarita pizza for an appetizer and it was good but not a wow. Actually didn't come out very hot. We both wished the pizza had more sauce, cheese and basil. For dinner I ordered Chicken Parm and it was good and came out hot. My wife got an Eggplant pizza and she enjoyed it and that too came very hot. What I also want to point out is the nice ambiance of the restaurant. I felt like I was in a very exclusive and high end restaurant but felt comfortable. I'll go back and recommend others do to. Total meal was $92 and that included 3 glasses of wine and 2 beers.

First time here on a Saturday night. The feel is like is an upscale pizza place. The menu, with various fonts all in upper case gave the impression of a middle schooler discovering the wonders of Microsoft Word. It's the place you bring the kids, or your parents and the fiancé. Not a date night with your significant other. We ordered the pork chop saltimbocca. The pork was good and well seasoned. The broccolini was good. The fingerling potatoes were burnt and bitter. The wine selection decent. The experience leads me to a 3 star because how can you screw up a potato? We won't be back.

This restaurant is part of the Newport Restaurant group and I decided to check it out. I had never eaten here before but I had seen it many times as I shopped in the Garden City shopping center. I had made a reservation using Open Table and my table was ready when I arrived. Patrick was my server and he told me about the specials. None of them was presented with the corresponding price. I think it should be...the menu has description of menu items with price...why not sharing the price of the specials ??? What's to hide ??? I decided to get the top sirloin. I asked for the steak to be cooked between medium rare to rare...sauce (au jus) on the side.........he said...Sure....He then walked away to enter the order. As I waited for my meal to arrive, I noticed that most tables had a basket of bread, but I was never offered one.....After I saw a buzz boy bringing food to a nearby table, I asked him if I could get a basket of the complementary bread and he said, sure no problem. The bread basket came to my table quickly. A bit later my steak arrived. Unfortunately, the sauce/jus was all over the steak..it did not come on the side as requested....I started eating since I was starving. The steak was tough and a bit chewy and it was more like medium well than medium rare/medium. The sides were very salty, especially the potato croquettes.... As I ate my meal, I drank all my water and never once the server nor the buzz boy came to refill my water glass. Not a fan of this place. Not coming back.

The food was excellent and the service even better! Great ambiance and the drinks were fantastic!! My only complaint should really bring this down to a 3 but the food was so fantastic I had to give them at least a 4. But when we sat down the water glasses were very dirty.

Upon entry, we received a warm welcome from the two male hosts. Such gentlemen! They sat us with a nice window view. Our server, Asia, was super friendly. She was upbeat and accommodating. She made some terrific recommendations. The Avvio Burger was beautifully presented with a huge serving of a side of house salad. The burger was grass fed beef, dressed in applewood smoked bacon, caramelized onions and a thin blanket of melted cheddar cheese all sandwiched between two slices of potato bread. The Rigatoni Beef Bolognese was a generous serving of pasta, folded into a flavorful meat base. We really enjoyed our meal and the amazing team here at Avvio! Thank you.

I don't think I've ever had a bad time at Avvio. The staff is always exceptionally friendly, and the food and drinks are always good. As a Cranston local who works in GCC Avvio is an easy go-to for me. Just a consistently enjoyable dining experience. Atmosphere is well decorated and thought out. Nice enough to certainly feel like you're "dining out", but by no means overly formal. My personal fav for lunch is the insalata di avvio with the blackened salmon.

Avvio is a beautiful place to dine, in the prettiest shopping center in RI - Garden City! My pasta dish was so unique and heavenly! It was a big portion and presented beautifully. For dessert, I ordered the almond cookie that turned out to be, not only delicious, but big enough for 4 people to enjoy. Needless to say, I took home some pasta and a good portion of the cookie? My waiter, Cameron, was phenomenal: attentive, courteous, friendly, professional and always smiling and accommodating! I highly recommend Avvio and Cameron! I shall return, soon. Plus, the Newport group if restaurants has the Best Rewards Program!

Stopped in for lunch right when they opened on a Thursday. There was no one in the place. We sat in one of the large booths in the bar area. It is really upscale inside and I really loved the layout. The ambiance was great. Service was awesome. Professional waiter. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, eggplant parm pizza for lunch and a fig pizza to go. The Brussels sprouts were the best I have ever had!!! They tasted phenomenal and were cooked to perfection. Crunchy on the two beds of different sauces on the plate. The pizza was wood fired and had the perfect amount of sauce, cheese and eggplant. Definitely will be going back!

Just finished the largest turkey pesto sandwich I have ever had and it truly won the Delish award for sandwiches! This sandwich consisted of smoked turkey, arugula & avocado pesto, pancetta, provolone, served on ciabatta bread. I selected the salad with lemon basil vinaigrette dressing which was very tasty and mild, as my side. I was so hungry that I ate without taking a pic of the fantastic and attractive monster platter! Hubby loved and enjoyed his burger which was accompanied by delectable Parmesan fries. Michaela, our server, was fantastic, with her lovely smile and excellent serving skills. I am attaching the pic of the half of sandwich that I could not possibly consume after finishing the first half and the wonderful accompanying greens! Although this phenomenal sandwich does not look life-size in the photo, it sure was huge!!!!!

overall solid place that a coworker recommended to me. nice service. got the top sirloin, grilled broccolini, and tiramisu. felt the top sirloin was a little drenched in the sauce but the potato croquettes were amazing!! tirimisu was not very good, soggy and kinda bland. i did come at the end of the evening so maybe that's why.

Excellent food and service. A little loud but it doesn't take away from the mood. Cocktails were lovely too.

Wow! I was in RI on business, and really enjoyed the meal I had on Friday evening, 11/15/24. This restaurant was recommended by a friend, so we gave it a try. I was pleasantly impressed! The food was amazing, but the best part was our server, Mercedes- she was very professional, and so sweet, checked on us to see if we needed anything else, etc. Give her a raise because Mercedes has it all when it comes to customer service. She made us laugh and have a great time. I work in sales/customer service and was so delighted that I came to Avvio!

A very pleasant meal! Great attentive service and a lively vibe. We shared appetizers of the crispy artichokes and kale salad - both were well prepared and flavorful. The roasted tomatoes in the salad were a nice touch, mild and sweet. We then had a couple of pastas: the burrata tortelloni and the mafaldine. The tortelloni was a little more than al dente and tasted a bit bland - I think burrata is probably too mild for a filling. The malfadine however, was outstanding - delicious slices of fresh shiitakes with a nice complementary slight crunch from the toasted breadcrumbs - and a soft-fried egg on top to add more flavor and creaminess! For main course, I had the veal milanese which arrived buried under a pile of arugula. (After moving this aside, I was able to find the veal!) The panko battered veal was only okay, rather bland and a little on the tough side. My wife had their scallops which - while on the smallish side - were wonderfully sweet and cooked perfectly. My daughter had the chicken piccata and this was also very good, with well-browned and crispy potato wedges. All in all, a very nice meal - and now I know what to order on a return visit!

I got takeout from Avvio tonight and was completely shocked at the tiny portion. The bolognese didn't taste very good as they used a lot of strong aged cheese so it way overpowers what should be the sweetness of the dish. The sauce was acidic. A good bolognese would have layers of flavor and complexity, but this lacked all of that. The pasta was well undercooked. My first impression was that it looked like someone threw up in the little container or they accidentally gave me someone's leftovers. The takeout portion fits in the tiniest 4x6" box yet you pay full price. My rigatoni was $27.42 in total and not worth it at all.

Chicken Milanese is refreshing. Espresso Martini depends on who makes it. Staff are friendly. I'd definitely go back

Actually I was surprised at how good this restaurant was! Arrived and our table was ready, no waiting! Our server Joe was upbeat and extremely pleasant, this alone made the trip over the top... Appetizers were delicious! Meals were cooked to perfection! A little on the loud side but overall the seating was good and I was happy with that. This definitely caught me by surprise and I will be back for sure!

Food is ok but building is nice inside Handicap access is not easy to use if you have hard time walking far Wait for restaurant week in east lyme and check it out then so you can make your own decision

Came here for a dinner on a Thursday night and it was so busy! We put our name on the list, did some shopping and our table was ready within 10 minutes - not too bad of a wait. We ordered the rossa pizza, potato croquettes, and calamari. It was all delicious and a good amount for 2 people. Definitely recommend this as a date night spot!

Ordered a chicken parm (expensive) but usually good. I got home to find it had no sauce. I called and had to speak to a manager who then proceeded to argue with me and tell me that I ordered it that way. I most certainly didn't but she acted annoyed and offered me to drive back to pick up sauce for my now cold soggy $20 sandwich. Would have been better off at chick fila. Too much focus on pretending to be luxury dining, quality of the food and service has tanked.

Went there last night with a friend and ordered their monthly regional special for $42 off their new menu. The seafood salad was large but the fish somehow didn't taste too fresh to me. The beef was unfortunately similar to dog food over polenta. The lemon dessert cake seemed stale and was unflavorful. is this what the region of Italy produces? Maybe. But was so disappointed. Our server Mercedes was OUTSTANDING as well as other servers who were quite attentive to our drink needs while Mercedes had to work the crowded bar. even when the hostess brought us to our table, she was genuine with her apology for the 2 second wait. Management surely stepping up their staff training. Too bad the food was very disappointing.

Avvio is our go-to restaurant, nice atmosphere, great food, consistent, good menu and the manager Michael is very attentive and aware of the dining room. Excellent Crispy Artichokes, Pasta with Rabe, Chicken Milanese and Piccata. Wonderful warm Focaccia and Olive Oil! Great desserts. Best to make a reservation.

Avvio Take 2! We came back. Much better experience. After speaking with the GM, we were offered a credit to give the restaurant another try. When we got to the table, someone was sweeping up the crumbs. No food on the floor this time! Our server was on point. We had another couple with us and all tried something different. I also ordered a moscato and my friend ordered a glass of Chardonnay. One taste and we immediately knew we were given the wrong glass and we gladly switched. Our meals came out together. No waiting for one to arrive while the others stared at their plates. Plates looked gorgeous and tasted great. I finished the salmon but my friends scallops looked divine. Would love to try that next time. Husbands steak was great. Server was attentive but not hovering. Dessert was a treat this time. Totally different experience. The ladies ordered the gelato. Devine!!! Hubby was brave enough to try the carrot cake and his friend followed. It arrived with a completely different presentation on a plate with a beautiful sauce, mint leaf and a scoop of vanilla gelato on the side. Stunning. My only regret was I didn't take a photo. Cake was warm and delicious. Presentation is a 10! Truly a different experience. From the staff adjusting the blinds to diffuse the sun pouring in, to positive demeanor of our server. It was a great experience. So glad that giving this spot a second chance gave us a better experience.

Went for a night out and was pleasantly surprised by the COVID preparations Avvio has in place. We made reservations, checked in with the hostess, and were quickly seated at the bar. There is plexiglass everywhere and we had a large spot on the end. We felt very comfortable and safe. Our server was the bartender who was busy, but very friendly and gracious. There are not many vegan items on the menu, but we knew from past experience that the chef would create a vegan pasta. They accommodated us again and it was delicious. I would love to see cannellini or white beans added to this dish for more protein. I'd also love to see something on the menu besides salad for vegans. As always, the service was great. Drinks and food were tasty. We will be back again!

Dinner with the girls last night!! I had never been to Avvio, and my friends love it here, so I got to try it, finally! We had a reservation, which looked like it was definitely necessary for a weekend night. They have a really nice patio, but we opted to eat inside since the weather was iffy and very muggy. Inside, it is dark, but very nicely done. The kitchen is open and you could see the flames! They have quite the show going on back there! They have a large bar with plenty of seating. Avvio was participating in Providence Restaurant Week, and had a special menu at the pre fixe price. I chose that option, and each choice looked and sounded just as delicious as the next. For my appetizer, I chose crispy polenta. It was so yummy! For dinner, I chose the pan seared shrimp with homemade linguini. Soo good, but the pasta could have been cooked another minute or two. Dessert was a limoncello cake that was so light and airy; I did share that with the girls! The girls chose to have their beloved calamari for the appetizer, gnocchi and the rigatoni Bolognese for dinner. They chose to eat off the regular menu. We had some awesome drinks, but forgot to get those pics . Totally recommend Avvio Ristorante for dinner!!

I've been here now 5 times and it's been very consistent and good food and service. The bartender made a mistake with our drink order and the waitress was great and made it right herself. This might be in a shopping plaza but don't let it fool you as this place is great. It's part of the Newport Hospitality Group as well so you can get points.

Decent enough spot if you're in the area shopping. I found it to be loud and very hot in the building at the time of my visit. Server was a little flustered and pushy but was kind and did her job well otherwise. The meatballs were good and pasta seemed fresh but I was just so hot I couldn't enjoy my meal as much as I probably could have. I will be back again and hope there is a climate change!

We tried this restaurant for the first time this evening and had a wonderful experience. All of the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We had originally wanted to sit in the bar seating (to be able to watch March Madness) but no seats were available. After we had our appetizers, a bar table became available and the hostess/manager approached us and asked if we would like to move. She arranged such that our waitress was able to move with us to the bar area. Our waitress, Celina, was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and kind. She was very attentive without feeling pushy. Truly one of the best waitresses we have had in awhile. The food was also delicious- we shared two apps and two pastas. The rigatoni was made in house and was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be coming back!

Avvio is our go-to spot for local Italian cuisine. Beautiful inside and out. Impeccable service (especially when you have Chelsea as your waitress), delicious, consistent food, and amazing drinks. My favorite part of the meal is always the focaccia and breadsticks. I personally love the bolognese, chicken milanese, salmon and gnocchi dishes, but evvvvvverything they serve is great!

A very nicely located restaurant in Garden City. The food is excellent both Josh and Kayla did a great job as our waiter and waitress, both times I was there. Both times I had the sausage and rabe.

Josh is an amazing server!!! The food is great and the environment is clean. Very consistent.
