"Axe Kickers isn’t a bar per se, but you can BYOB, which means you can pretend it’s a bar. It’s a chill axe-throwing venue in White Center where you’ll probably walk in a non-believer and walk out a lumberjack. Seriously—chucking an axe at a target while wearing a flannel and drinking tallboys of Crikey IPA makes us wish we lived in an evergreen forest. Though it really just sounds like a typical day in Seattle." - aimee rizzo

Google
Axe Kickers is a fun place to host events! Our group has returned 3 years in a row for a great time! Keith is very helpful and makes the entire experience flawless!

Alisa Mitchell

Google
Axe Kickers are the BEST!! Keith was an amazing host and gave us great pointers about throwing an axe. I felt good about my throwing skills fast. Our group of 6 had an AWESOME time! Loved the relay competition at the end. GO TO AXE KICKERS!! You will have the BEST time!!!! Thank you Keith!!!!

Kelly Fox

Google
What an awesome place for a group event! The owners/hosts Keith and Stephanie are really cool and made our time there really fun. We were able to bring in our own snacks, and purchased drinks there (beer, ciders, liquid deaths, etc). Would 10/10 recommend!

Sari Luna

Google
I had my birthday party here, we all had so much fun! We had practice lanes and they facilitated a tournament. Call and make arrangements for parties! So much easier than figuring it out online and they’re great to work with.

Kage Garland

Google
Went here for a birthday party last night and had a great time. It’s a fun, laid back setting and staff is very welcoming. They make it easy and fun for newcomers to learn and try it out (judgement free -I sucked at this and still had a great time!) and there’s easy parking, which is always a plus in my book.

Nathan Mikesell

Google
Really fun! And a great environment! Dan (one of the owners) is very knowledgeable and helps you get started with safety tips and throwing techniques. Food and drink is welcome and they have good music playing that makes for a fun vibe. Team building, out with friends.. or even competition leagues.. this place is a blast and definitely worth the $$$. Highly recommend going here!

Google
For my first experience axe throwing, this was the place for instruction. We were guided throughout our session with tips and tricks by the owner. They also offer beverages, both alcoholic and non alcoholic at the establishment.

Coleman Mitchell

Google
Amazing experience. The owners are very good people. There's beer and cider. Super casual and fun.

Yelp
Great music and great vibe! Best axe throwing place I've been to yet. Highly recommend to anyone in the area

Yelp
This place is awesome - not corporate or hipster. Legit axe throwing, great casual vibe, great music, fun people.

Yelp
I really have no idea why I haven't heard of this place existing so close to my neighborhood until a few weeks ago. I am so happy I stumbled across a random social media mention (on another local biz post) that peaked my curiosity and tracked them down! Perfect timing too, because I was looking for a quick afternoon activity for the end of winter break celebration/lament. Lol. I booked a time slot online, signed the waiver form, and showed up the next day. We got there at opening and there was a bit of chaotic activity on the admin side as a few groups also arrived at the same time. Once sorted, we got a quick lesson on how to throw with 2 hands, then 1. Basic safety rules were reviewed, and then we were ready to start throwing! The teen was thrilled as she loves axe throwing but we always thought we'd have to drive to tacoma. We maximized our 1.5 hr time slot and had a blast. Bonus for serving Liquid death. I was pleasantly surprised and amused because I happened to be wearing a Liquid Death sweatshirt that day. This is a great stress reliever and we plan to come here for more "family mental health day" fun in the near future!

Yelp
I love how we're able to bring our own food. This was my first time throwing axes and the workers were super friendly and helpful. They did a demonstration and that made me more comfortable throwing an axe. Highly recommend axe kickers! They also have parking in the front!

Brian F.

Yelp
We made reservations online beforehand which was $28 per person. The reservation is for 1.5 hours and two lanes which is nice when you have a larger group of people. The reservation required a 25% deposit at booking and you pay the other 75% in person. When we arrived at 3pm we were the only ones there which was nice. The employee (or owner?) gave us a quick walkthrough and a tutorial for throwing the axe. After a couple minutes we were left to throw on our own and we had a good time! They have a couple different types of axes for you to use depending on which one you're more comfortable with. It's very laid back and I prefer it much more than bowling because you don't need to wait for the ball to come back; you just grab the axe off the wood and get right back to it. Bonus points that you can bring your own food!

Lorraine M.

Yelp
Husband and I spent a wonderful afternoon throwing axes with our 19 year old grandchildren. It was a new and fun experience for all of us. Keith was very attentive in showing us proper technique. Now we are hooked. Hope to come back soon.

Ariel C.

Yelp
Quite possibly the best decision I have made was setting up a team event here at Axe Kickers! Our host was an absolute gem and super accommodating! He made the night for sure. We all had a blast!! 10/10 recommend Axe kickers! You will not regret it :)

Linde H.

Yelp
Love love love this place. I wish we had an axe throwing place like this in the bay area. Reasonable prices with a great staff to teach and guide. 2 hours flew by and i can't wait to come back to revisit.

Vincent N.

Yelp
Booked a couple lanes here last month for a birthday party. They offer a ton of flexibility as far as the head count in that you will only pay a deposit for the minimum amount of people and can adjust the total number of attendees the day of. Coordination with the owner was super helpful. Love that we can bring in food and just buy some beverages there. Definitely great for events!

Christine A.

Yelp
Very fun evening at Axe Kickers. Derek is such a nice host who really enjoys what he is doing and he does it well. Great safety introduction and excellent brief tossing lesson. Pay attention and you might start hitting the center. I did a bunch of times! Park in the front. No real food options. Some none alcoholic beverages. They DO allow children but call ahead regarding how young the kids can be. I think this would be a good Birthday Party place for over the age of 10 so long as the kids are supervised. *Rougher part of town but I would go again because that's how I roll plus they hand you an axe.

Wendy C.

Yelp
We had a small team event and it was a hit! The guidance you get on how to handle the axe and how to throw. We are so happy we scheduled this and want to have a rematch when we are able. We will be back.

Lynn S.

Yelp
Went on a date night with another couple and had an AMAZING time here! Keith was great, helped up get comfortable throwing and we were hitting the bullseye in no time! Parking was easy! We will for sure be back!!

Sasha J.

Yelp
We had a fantastic experience at Ace Kickers! It was our first time and staff member Eric was very helpful. They walked us through throwing techniques and safety precautions, and supervised our first few throws to offer pointers. The motions and weight of throwing an axe was entirely new to me, so I found their support to be really helpful! Thanks Axe Kickers! We had a blast. *Things to know: There are non-alcoholic drinks for sale and you are able to bring your own food. There is a limited amount of parking immediately in front of the building. There was a well-behaved dog hanging around the front desk, and occasionally followed staff and said hi to us. *We joked that the staff must be ready for bonfires at all time, and he actually offered for us to take some cause it's hard for them to dispose of it all. So, if you're looking to do some axe throwing AND happen to need firewood sometime soon, it may be an option! *COVID-19 precautions: As other customers left, staff were sanitizing the table and axes. There is hand sanitizer throughout the space. Masks are required inside the building at all times.

Yelp
Had a great time coming here for a friend's birthday a couple of weeks ago. To be honest I never even heard of such a thing before! It was awesome! A lot of waivers to sign in the beginning (which understandable, I mean come on you're throwing axes) but everything else after that was smooth sailing. They had two instructors giving everyone the run down and the proper technique to throw the axe which was very helpful. There is about 10 different lanes. The place is pretty small so that's probably why reservations are important. They have three different sizes of axes (small, medium and large) i stuck with the small because it was easier to hold. After awhile you get the hang of it and we even had a competition after we warmed up. The instructors also introduce a game on the side that had to do with a tree stump, nails, and drinking. That's all I pretty much know about that i was focused on the axe throwing. Another plus is that you can bring in your own beer and wine to drink while everyone is having a good time. Since I've been hear I've heard another place in Capitol Hill opened up so it's be interesting to see the difference between the two places but overall had a great time here!

Sukhman T.

Yelp
The place has free parking but only 3 spots. The reservation was very simple online. The cashier showed us how to throw the axe and various technicians. This would be a good spot to do a get together with family and friends.

Travis P.

Yelp
Best place to go in the Seattle metro area. Owner is cool af and always available when needed. If you need a place to just release and relax Axe Kickers is the place to go.

Kristina K.

Yelp
This is my second visit to Axe Kickers and it was just as great as the first! This is such a fun date night, girls night or double date spot. Both times I have been (pre and during COVID) it has been very clean, well maintained and the staff are top notch! They really care about what they do and about guests having fun! It's about $28 per person for 90 minutes. Perfect length of time and very affordable for the 1:1 attention and fun time that you receive. I wish I lived closer to join their weekly league! Check them out the next time you are in the area or you want to feel like a Mountaineer? Camper? Axe thrower?! Or a Total Awesome Badass!

Greg M.

Yelp
Had a very fun experience at Axe Kickers! A great place for a night out with friends, or on a date with your significant other. We had 5 people in our group, and I believe it's about $35/person for 2 hours. We were lucky enough to to get 2 lanes walking-in on a Thursday night. We were all first-timers, and our instructor Koa (forgive me if misspelled) was great! He showed us how to properly and safely throw an axe, as well as the scoring system if you'd like to challenge your friends. He also showed us the technique that works for him, and he'll coach you for your first few throws and throughout the night if you'd like. They do sell soft drinks at the front desk, and I believe you can also bring your own drinks/food. If you're looking to do some axe throwing and you're in the area, I'd recommend checking this place out!

Keyah W.

Yelp
Had an amazing time here. First time ever visiting ab ace bar and The owner was awesome and patiently taught us how to throw an axe and even initiated a competition between my boyfriend and I. We had our own two lanes to throw against each other and we would have kept throwing axes all night if our arms would let us but will def make this a regular date night.

Erika P.

Yelp
This is a great place for large or small groups. Laid back atmosphere. Worth a visit.

Jess C.

Yelp
We had a great time throwing axes last night! The staff was amazing, I don't remember her name but I wish I did. We called to let the know we were running late because of a Walmart problem, the we're super cool and didn't start our time until we got there. They even let us use our microwave to warm up some of the food we bright in. It was relaxed and friendly. A great place for a fun lowkey girls night out!!

Sean W.

Yelp
A group of us planned this for a fun event, and that it was. No one in the group had done it before so it was great first time fun for everyone. The location is easy to find and plenty of parking. The staff is friendly, courteous and plenty helpful. There is no food or alcohol but you're allowed to bring your own, hmmm... (alcohol and axes). Nonetheless, time passes quickly with how much fun you have. This a great place for groups or corporate events, possibly a date but better on a double date. In any event, it was fun and you could learn a self defense skill with a hatchet (ax). I would recommend this place to friends and/or family. I hope this helps in your decision to come here.

Ingram D.

Yelp
My husband and I had so much fun. Brought in burgers & threw the sh*t outta those axes. Way cheaper than therapy!

Erica W.

Yelp
I came to Axe Kickers for a work sponsored event. I was pretty skeptical and honestly a little apprehensive about throwing axes. But the "axe kicking instructor" put my mind at ease. He waited for our entire group to arrive, and then began his safety/ instructional lesson. He told a lot of jokes, about losing limbs and toes...which i found it entertaining. He made it fun. After our lesson, we paused because our pizza arrived. (They don't have food on the premises, but you can order from local places and have it delivered.) They have soda there you can buy, but I think that's about it. You can bring outside beer or wine, but there is a $10 fee. If you ask me, I don't think drinking and throwing axes is the best choice; but I'm not one to judge when it comes to beveraging! Haha! I'm not sure how much time we had rented out the lanes for, because I had to leave early. But looking online there are different rates depending on how many people are in your group. It's a lot more expensive than I had expected. Not that I paid, but I plan on going back so I was curious. The pricing is dependent on how many in the group, but appears that the going rate is $28 per person if you have a smaller group (1.5 hours). Seems expensive to me, but definitely worth it, because it's a blast! It's also the perfect way to blow off steam and aggression after a rough work day! Perfect Happy Hour activity if you ask me! I have a friend who lives in the area (who just so happens to be the one who sold the lumber to the contractor!) and we already have plans to go Axe throwing the next time we visit! I can't wait to return! Give it a try, you won't be sorry. You might just find yourself a new hobby!

Phuong B.

Yelp
When all else failed *ahem Covid restrictions*, axe kickers was here to save my Saturday night from boredom. I don't think many people (myself included) know that this place was open because reservations were wide open the day of. I honestly don't know how axe throwing was allowed to stay open given current restrictions, but everyone there was wearing a mask and the employees sanitized the stations between turns. Not only that, but they were extremely friendly, cheerful, and helpful. While axe throwing won't be my main source of entertainment, it was a great way to escape the rain/cold during lockdown season. I highly recommend.

Kelly B.

Yelp
I had a VERY fun and chill time here at Axe Kickers! The owner was super cool and helped us with different types of throwing and axes. I learned SO much and had SUCH a good time. The music was also more chill and appropriate for the vibe. It's a small business and family-owned, so I feel a lot better about my money going there over corporate crap. I went to Blade & Timber before finding this place, and they are trash! Seriously, I'm so glad I came here for my second try at axe throwing. And I'm glad I got to like it this time!! We will be back! :)

Chris Y.

Yelp
We booked a party of seven for my daughters birthday on New Years Day. We confirmed on the 30th place would be open. Owner/manager stated he lived around the corner and would be there. We showed up at scheduled time placed was closed and unable to get ahold of him again via phone or email. Extremely unfortunate. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Pam A.

Yelp
Great family owned place to have an axe kickin' good time. You may even spot a Sasquatch or two. My friends and I enjoyed two hours of what started off as friendly competition but ended up as fierce rivalry. Dave and Dan kicked off our session with some basic training and safety tips. After warming up a little we split into teams and played a couple of games. I highly recommend this place for everyone. It would be a great team building activity or a different type of night out with friends. Don't forget your plaid!

Ashika G.

Yelp
Had a great time! Went in with a group of 4 and we were able to utilize 2 lanes for throwing. When we first came in, we were promptly sent to our lanes and given an extensive overview of the instructions and methods that we could use to throw the Axes. Really cool vibe! A little chilly.. so bring a jacket. Also would recommend bringing some snacks/drinks if you plan to stay more than an hour there with your group since there isn't any food service. We played for 1 hour and truthfully that was more than enough for my group of 4. Location is a little further out of Seattle than I expected, but still worth the drive out there!

Cristina P.

Yelp
WOW! So much fun!!!! I went with some girlfriends on a Sunday night. We had to make reservations earlier that day. When we entered the staff showed us how to throw and explained the rules. It was pretty straight forward. We had two targets for 4 people and a mini white board to keep score. They also have a section for taking pictures where you can put on some flannel and be silly.

Erin H.

Yelp
Everyone had fun from 9-50 years old including the hard to impress normally uninterested 14 year olds! A little deep depending on where you're coming from but definitely worth the trip and definitely recommend. Our 14 year old decided last minute he DID want to have a birthday party. Dan & Dave were super responsive and easy to work with on short notice. From a mom lugging decorations and food into the party aspect this is a great location as you literally park outfront, open the door and can walk right in and set your stuff down no stairs etc to navigate. WINNING! 520 was unexpectedly closed and we were 30 min behind schedule in stopped traffic. I called and they were very kind to adjust our party window so that it didn't eat into our axe throwing time. Obviously, they may not always be able to do that depending on how booked they are but they were super accommodating and all around just easy to work with. 9 year old who is invisible around the teenagers was worried she wouldn't get to throw axes or have fun. I asked Eric to take her under his wing and he was very friendly and kind to her in what could have been an intimidating scene for the sole little girl in the group. Taught her how to throw and continued to throw axes with her. She left wanting to join their axe throwing league if that tells you how fun the axe kickers team was. Icing on the cake- they let us keep the ice cream cake in the small freezer & you can bring Gatorade and get Dominos delivered for cheap 4 pizzas cost the same price as 1 Pagliacci pizza another high point of white center it's not overpriced - easy turnkey party AND they gave the birthday boy a wood target keepsake for his friends to sign. Definitely recommend!

Sonam L.

Yelp
It was so chill and fun, the employees are knowledgeable and super kind in explaining the different throws. Overall it was fun, judgement free, and independent.

Claudine R.

Yelp
Who can go and throw axes for 90 minutes!? I didn't think I would like it and I figured it would drag on but it didn't. The time flew by. We took our 14 year old and it was a lot of fun. The staff is super nice and friendly and give great advice and instructions. It was a really fun time and is a great date or family night

Annette P.

Yelp
Great place! The person working was really nice and very helpful. We went with our 3 teenage boys and had fun. We'll be back!

Rebecca S.

Yelp
We had such a great time here! This was our first time axe throwing. Keith was awesome and went above and beyond to make sure we were all having fun and got the hang of it. He even came up with a competition between our group and another and gave the winner a free beanie. Absolutely recommend it!!

Richard C.

Yelp
had a blast! 10 out of 10 recommend better with a group, get the trash talk really goings

Yuzar F.

Yelp
Such a cool axe throwing place. This place is located just a little bit south of seattle. They have a huge sign for their establishment. We went here with a group or 8. When you arrive, you will be given instructions on safety, the difference axes and tricks on how to swing those axes. The guide started explaining about the safety first and I thought it was very detail and the guide did a good job explaining it. Then he moved on showing us the different types of of axes and how certain axes are lighter or heavier. Then the fun part was when he demod us how to swing those axes. Once all of the instructions were explained it was time for us to swing them and the guide would watch us to make sure we're doing them correctly. These guys were friendly too and hosted us nicely. Also you can bring food from outside which is cool. This place can be used for party. Overall it was a wonderful experience.

Chiresh G.

Yelp
Great place for groups, staff was kind , overall enjoyed throwing axe. No food available but they let you carry, so all good!

Amy F.

Yelp
Great fun even if you're not throwing an axe. I we had one person with us who just watched. The staff was patient with me in instructing how to throw. They'd circle around again to observe how you're doing. Offer tweeks they think you need. They have merch at an amazing price. They plan to expand the space & activities. Looking forward to going again.

Rose R.

Yelp
We had so much fun here and it was during COVID and everyone was very safe and masked. If you're looking for a fun place to hang with a friend or two or more this is it! Boy do you feel GREAT when you throw an axe and it sticks and even better when it sticks in the center of the target and even BETTER when you call "clutch" and you hit those little green clutch spots up high! We'll be going back often!

Kiran N.

Yelp
Is there a better activity where you can hang out, have fun with your friends and also blow off some serious steam at the same time? Axing for a friend.. This place is awesome! We were here for our friend's birthday party and we had such a blast! Axe throwing is a lot easier and way more fun that I thought it would be. This place is bring your own everything so make sure you get that liquor license and order some pizza. There are tables and benches inside so there's plenty of space to lay out your food and drinks whilst you throw some axe around. They are also really big on safety and as long as one doesn't do anything incredibly stupid, one should be fine! This place is awesome and I'm excited to do it again!

Leanna A.

Yelp
Fun experience and nice, helpful staff. Would be great if they did some food there.

Brittani R.

Yelp
Had a blast at Axe Kickers! Eric was a great instructor. Once we got comfortable with throwing the axe, he showed us some fun trick shots to make our experience even better. Would definitely return! Oh and Nova was the best greeter!

Renee G.

Yelp
Last night hubby and I went to Axe Kickers and it was a fun date night and a great place for groups to go! People if all abilities could do this! I didn't think I would be very good at it but I did ok! I did get too hot and was dripping in sweat and only found a stump in our lane to sit on! They were super cool and only charged us for 1 person as we were using a practice lane. Staff was helpful and you get a safety meeting before you throw an axe! They have some non alcoholic drinks there and not really sure of the of the liquor situation but I did see liquor there! It's pretty basic decor! Plaid, wood, logging, murals on the wall and some games! My tip would be make sure you make reservations as it's pretty a popular thing to do right now! You can just walk in but you take your chances of not getting a lane!

Diana C.

Yelp
Yay! Axe throwing! I came for a work event with a liquor license so we got to drink while throwing axes... I know... sounds like an HR nightmare, but we were safe and had a ton of fun! We had a few rounds of getting comfortable with throwing our axes on our own before we started our competition rounds. The first game was scored as one point for sticking your axe anywhere on the board. We lined up and then one by one threw our axe to try to get it to stick. Then we ran up to grab our axe (while the person behind you lined up to throw) then we ran (yes, we ran with axes...) to the back of the line. You had two minutes to get as many points as you can. Group with the most points won. Next game we played with points using the rings (1, 3, 5, 7 points) - first team to reach 21 points won. If you went over 21 points, you went back to 15 points and had to reach 21 again. We did smaller teams and then did an elimination round. Those that got eliminated play with hammers, knocking each others nails into a giant log. Play it as a drinking game and it's even more hilarious. You have to flip your hammer, catch it, and then hit someone's nail. One hammer flip gets you one opportunity to hit, two hammer flips get you two opportunities to hit, and a trick flip gets you three. Apparently the guys there flip their axes too... something I don't recommend you try your first time around. Go and have a great time!

Danielle E.

Yelp
My fiancé and I like to do different things on our anniversary celebrate: move in together for the first time while moving out of state, jump out of an airplane, hike 20 miles in Big Bend NP. This year we decided to try axe throwing. We had such a blast at this place. The staff was relaxed and helped us learn everything we needed to know about how to throw an axe. We will definitely be back.

Michelle E.

Yelp
Go. Just go. Just do it. Let out your inner badass. Have a birthday party here. Go to the pot shop after.

Emily T.

Yelp
This is a fun team event venue. At first you will get scared that u might slice off your ear but once you get going it's really fun and pretty safe. Our team had a great time here. Bring your own water, beer and drinks. Also bring your own snacks.

Amy L.

Yelp
Yeah! This was pretty fun. Our Fantasy Football league celebrated the end of the season with an evening here. We had a mix-up with our reservation but the staff fit us in and warned us off booking at another place because of their dodgy safety standards. Right, so we had a group of eight and two lanes. A staff member demonstrated how to throw and how to be safe, then observed each of us throwing and offered pointers. He also checked in with us later and gave us some advanced throwing tips. The attentiveness and the user-friendliness of the whole setup - I believe the axes are coded for weight on the handle - makes it really beginner-friendly and approachable. None of us had ever thrown before and we all really enjoyed ourselves. If you want to get a lot of throws in, I recommend going in a group of five or less. There's a lot of waiting around with 8 people, even with two lanes, though there are benches to hang out at.
