We visited for the first time last night. They have done an amazing job transforming the space, it's gorgeous. It has a very European feel, without pretence. I didn't realize they close so early, my fault for not checking the hours, so we arrived at 9:30 and they close at 10:00pm on Tuesday. Noting this because I feel like this is going to be an excellent day time neighborhood hangout. There is ample bike rack space out front which was well thought out. Our food was good and the service was excellent. I'm not a huge beer drinker but I tried a cream ale which was light and refreshing. I look forward to spending a sunny afternoon in the fun biergarden soon. Definitely want to revisit when they are not getting ready to close. Advice: go hungry and early so that you have time to linger and enjoy!

I love the way the indoor and outdoor areas are designed and set up. The food was amazingly delicious. We had the lamb burger with fries and aioli sauce. We also had the chicken shawarma Wings. The beer was good too but the food was more impressive. The staff was knowledgeable and great at making suggestions.

The staff at the bar was helpful cuz you're right there. The servers in the open tables take too long there and are lacksidasical. I , a brewer, got cut off after 2 beers. Laughable really. I would not recommend this place. Made me feel unwelcome.

Google
This is a great addition to the brewery scene. It has such a comfy, cozy and an excellent atmosphere. I felt so comfortable sitting and bs'ing with my buddy for a couple hours. The place looks like a mash up of sleek, modern design and a throwback at the same time. A beautiful outside patio. Both inside and outside feel so spacious and warm. The menu seems a bit odd, but really isn't. Well, not from what we ordered. Tried the twice fried trites (fries) w/ hot sauce aioli and the quinoa patty melt. Both were quite good. Buddy had dill pickle cheese curds (curds with pickle powder sprinkled on) and the lamb burger. He enjoyed those as well. The beer is brewed by Axle Brewery. I tried three: Jolene (american wheat), 14th Amendment (kolsch) and Noble Ghost (grindgeist blonde). All three had very simple, crisp tastes. I particularly liked the Jolene and the Noble Ghost. I'm looking forward to returning and sampling more of their beer! The server we had was extremely helpful in describing their food too. He was a nice guy; friendly. We sat inside, but I wish we would have sat outside. I can't hype enough how much I like the simple feel of the place. It was really a unique experience. It's located in an odd part of town, so I encourage everyone to check it out! To update this one. This place is now closed. It was very disappointing and I didn't take it well. I liked it so much that I made sure I went on the last day. I drank and I ate all that was good from previous times I had gone. Why it closed was not because of lack of customers, that's for certain. It was always busy. It had more to do with distribution of their product (beer). They are, after all, a brewing company. Which leads me to just make mention that the beer is still available and it's very good. Noble Ghost, Jolene and 14th Amendment were mainstays for me. I can only hope this place comes back in some other capacity or maybe in some other area. I want to return because I always believed in this place and what it offered.

Google
Great food, fantastic beer, and the open and spacious communal beer hall make Axel Brewing Co.'s Livernois Tap one of my favorite places for a quick bite and drink in the metro area.

Google
We live so close to Axle Brewing Co. and have just never gone, it was an opportunity wasted and we will be back soon. The beer was delicious. They have unique, complex flavors and basic flavors that will appeal to a wide variety of tastes. The food was amazing, I highly recommend the twice fried frites ( the aioli is worth eating on its own) and the chicken liver mousse.

Paul Guzman

Google
One of the best lamb burgers I've ever had. But overall portions are a little on the smaller side.

Matthew Pautke

Google
Outstanding! Food was off the chart amazing. The beer is pretty tasty and the atmosphere was nice.

Andrew R.

Yelp
Superb beer selection. So many great beers to choose from. Great local atmosphere. Outside seating is great in nice weather. Food is great with vegetarian options for everything. We are really happy we moved house close to this place!

Lisa M.

Yelp
Had to come on here because this is hands-down the best pizza I have had in Metro Detroit. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza and a large margarita pizza. I forgot to get a picture of the pepperoni, but it was insane. I'll definitely be back!

Jessica M.

Yelp
Decided to to come here after sampling a beer at cider dayz in armada. Super cute inside, with a coffee area to the left and a small bar on the right. I ordered the jalen wrap, and it was delicious. I added a side of nashville hot sauce, and mind blown. It was a chicken/veggie/Buffalo wrap.. and I'm obsessed. The fries were bomb as well, I would suggest ordering those. I also got one of the sour beers, and it was delicious as well. It's a order at the front, seat yourself set up. Where you bus your tables and run all of your stuff. I would of stayed longer and ordered more, but I wasn't sure how everything worked, and I was a bit intimidated. Very polite and helpful staff, will definitely

Ben V.

Yelp
Super fun spot which a lot of tables! The lagerdale beer was soooo good. The sriracha aioli potatoes were amazing. Also really enjoyed the chicken and waffles with a churro waffle. The service was friendly and the food came out in about 15 minutes.

Yelp
Ferndale Project is a nice place for a casual get-together or reception. I was invited to a private event at Ferndale Project hosted by my alma mater's alumni association. The event I attended was outside under canopies. It was a bit cold but everyone had a good time. I'm not a big drinker but there is something for everyone's tastes. The catered food was so-so. The chicken tenders were a bit dry. Nothing fancy but at least there was food so I'm thankful for that. Free street parking is available along Livernois.

Yelp
I went to this place this past Tuesday, so my review is a little late so bare with me here. I also didn't try everything in the pictures so bare with me. Now let me talk to ya, this place surprised us. I went here with two friends. One had the beet burger & the other had another type of burger. I can't remember what it was. I had the tacos & fries and we all shared the chips and salsa. The fries here were really good. Nice and flavorful. They were just different. Every place does fries the same way you gotta appreciate when places do thing different. They have vegan options so that's always a plus n my vegan friend said he never had a vegan burger like that. It was good. My other friend loved his burger as well. The chips were really good. Not sure how they do them but they were special. The salsa was salsa it's what you expect but the sauce sitting next to it was not only vegan but it was phenomenal. Lastly my tacos, could've been better. I enjoyed them chicken tacos mostly but it could've been better. The tortilla was like a hand made one n I appreciate that. N the potato on the taco could've had more sauce or spices. Service is good. Everyone was super chill here & the place it self is spacious and relaxing. Prices are decent so give it a try. They also have dipped donuts so that too is a plus. Definitely give The Ferndale Project a try.

John H.

Yelp
It might seem strange to get a donut and a sour beer in the middle of a Sunday morning bike ride, but trust me, this combo rocks... and Ferndale Project is a perfect stop mid-route! Servers always have a smile as well. Good hangout before the crowds show up in earnest.

Yelp
Meet some people here for drinks and food. The layout is nice and open! You kinda just make it work for yourself from what I could see. You go in to a counter to order drink and food, but didn't see anyone really bussing so I guess clean up yourself too? We ordered a few beers and relaxed for a few. Which both bartenders working don't know how to pour? At about $9 a glass I'd expect that to be damn near full not a solid inch to two inches of foam. Also leaving the rest of the can my husband ordered for his beer on the counter instead of waiting for the foam to go down.... Just advice if you tip the glass a bit it helps. Decided what we wanted to order and was told at 7:30pm ish on a Friday they were out of dough...... that's the WHOLE menu except the watermelon salad. Not at all what I was wanting so we finished with friends and went else where to eat and drink. Only giving 3 starts bc the one bartender felt bad I waited in a line out the door only to be told they are out of everything. Cute patio but doubt I'll be back unless friends request it.

Mandi B.

Yelp
Loved the food and the beer selection. Had a spicy chick'n sandwich that hit the spot. The fries weren't quite done enough (soggy), which is a bummer because they were seasoned great! We all enjoyed the beers. The space is big and has room for groups inside as well as out on the huge patio. If I lived in the area, I could see gathering here for beers and snacks on the regular.

Charlynn R.

Yelp
Great stop we made while waiting for our airbnb to be ready. The wings were pretty good though odd nothing we got (wings, celery, fries) came with a dipping sauce. Blue cheese or ranch are pretty standard for wings and celery. The kids area is a really nice touch. We grabbed a few 4 packs to go as well!

Jennifer B.

Yelp
My favorite brewery in southeastern Michigan. Solid beers. Vegan food options. Friendly staff. Massive patio. Free parking. Love supporting this venue.

Richard C.

Yelp
If you like IPAs, this is the place for you. Nice play area for little kids. Only complain would be I wish there was more of a beer variety. If you are into super hoppy beers then this is the place for you. We went when it was still cold out so we didn't get the full experience with the outside seating area being closed. We will absolutely try it out in the summer. Good vibes!

Nat Z.

Yelp
I've been coming here (and to EMBC) since the beginning. The beer is OK and the food is thoroughly inconsistent. The major asset of Ferndale Project is that it's got a great patio and a great indoor space, so it's possible to enjoy regardless of what you order-- it's just often frustratingly mediocre. There is a bonus in the fact that there's basically a coffee shop built into the brewery itself. Which is open sometimes. The other day, we had a maple chicken sriracha sandwich, which comprised somewhat soggy (n.b. gooey) chicken that was neither sufficiently maple nor sriracha to make it distinguishable enough by either descriptor (also feeling like it wasn't real maple so I never know what to do with that). Also a strawberry salad that was supposedly arugula but was really just sort of wet romaine, a bit too heavy on the cheese and dressing and too light on everything else. Idk man throw some cromch in there. Anyway, as I said, it's a great atmosphere and the patio is great, the service is friendly (though we're still being asked to tip 20%+ without table service and with self-bussing?), it's just not quite there yet.

Yelp
This place was a whole lot of fun! I already love the Eastern Market Brewing Company. If you look through my pictures you will definitely come across many photos I have taken there. Whenever I am at Eastern Market I need to run over there and get a small flight of drinks. I have seen this place on social media and was finally able to visit. This place is a party for the entire family. For very small kids there is an area for them to play, board games for all, and the outdoor patio with live bands and a DJ. They had blow up beach balls to toss around, a fire pit, it was good for people with dogs to hang out, amazing fun. Their drinks are always fun to try. I had their grapefruit raddler, not as sweet at the typical German one I tend to get (not sure of the name) but very good. We had their kolshe which was nice and drinkable. We also tried their non-alcoholic tangerine gose with a hint of salt, excellent especially for a non-alcoholic beverage. We also tried their mango lime non-alcoholic seltzer which was very tasty. We also got their fun bottle of rose lemonade. The kids liked the place a lot, especially because they had non-alcoholic options plus you can get some waters. The food was very good. We got the wings, the siracha maple chicken, the smash burgers, and their fries. The chicken was so crispy with a nice sweet and spicy kick. I loved the burger, it was cooked really well and tasted great the next day. The fries were really nicely seasoned and they provided a nice amount, I had leftovers of those too. The miso ranch was okay, but their Nashville hot sauce was absolute fire! Now I truly have nothing to compare it to because honestly and surprisingly I have never tried Nashville hot sauce ever even though it is a big thing right now, so I would not know what other places taste like, but it was soooo good here I could drink it. I would come back just for the hot sauce. It was that good. The individuals working here were very friendly and accommodating. They were very helpful and helped create a fun atmosphere. It is basically in the middle of a subdivision, so it seems like the neighborhood hangout. I would love to visit and again and so would the kids. I also would love to come here and play some games, maybe try their coffee offerings. And I was impressed with their vegan options. The tofu sandwich looked very good, so did the salads. They were out of ice cream, so maybe next time.

Yelp
This place is great! We stumbled upon it after lunch in Ferndale with a simple yelp search for beer nearby. The vibe is everything here - it has a relaxed chill environment, with great music, the place was buzzing but not rowdy, friendly staff, friendly people, great beer and great food! They have outdoor igloos and fire pits. Seemed dog friendly by the adorable pups licking my daughters giggling face. The dill on the fries is something I've never had before and I would consider myself a fry connoisseur. Order a basket, or 2 or 3. 1 basket was enough for 3 but if you order a sandwich they come with fries too. The Ferndale IPA was so flavorful, juicy, little to no bitterness, very drinkable and not filling, just a really freaking good beer. We literally went back the next day to get lunch to go because we loved it so much the afternoon before. My brother ordered a drip coffee, before we even sat at a table waiting he commented on how good it was at least 3 times so I had to try to for myself and ordered a cup - it was really really good. It's Ashe Coffee and they do Dooped Donuts here too. The mid morning scene was much "quieter" like people were working -solo or in a group- there are big picnic like tables or smaller high top tables to use. It was a Monday and it was full but not crowded, like people had plenty of space. My favorite part is the kid area for our toddler. It is partially closed off so I could stand in there while she played but knew she couldn't run free while my friends hung out on the other side of the ledge outside the kid area where we could keep our conversation going. They have coloring pages and crayons and little gadget fidget toys attached to the wall and little activity centers in the middle. It was such a great way for us to hang out and entertain our daughter so she didn't feel she was dragged along to another adult activity where I end up having constant anxiety. A part of me doesn't want to include this part in my review so that I can keep it a secret for myself lol We ordered Black Garlic Patty Melts, and Chicken Sandwiches. Like I mentioned previously they are served with their incredible fries. The patty melt was full of flavor and soooo juicy, even messy but in the best way. The patty melt is Caramelized onions, black garlic aioli, pickles, lots of pickles, smoked cheddar on dark rye. The Chicken Sammy is grilled chicken, sesame seed bun, avocado, lettuce and chipotle aioli (add smoked cheddar!)

Rickelle C.

Yelp
How are people keeping up with what's going on at this place? Had no idea they moved to just pizza! What happened to the amazing fries and burger? Beer was mid at best and quite pricey at $8!

Mia W.

Yelp
Clean environment. Loved the decor and table bench accommodations. Great for large parties like the one I belonged to. The pizza was delicious and there were other menu items we didn't have the chance to order that we would love to try next time. The best feature was the play area for kids.

R W.

Yelp
Such a fun place and such a chill vibe! The service is great as well and beer was great and reasonably priced

Winter W.

Yelp
Terrible. Very limited brunch menu. You order at the coffee/ bar counter and they give you a buzzer. You find a seat - inside or outside. When your buzzer goes off, you pick up your food at the kitchen counter. There, you can help yourself to room temp water, silverware, condiments, napkins, etc. When you're done eating, there is a dirty dishes rack where you can drop off your plates, etc. I asked the guy at the counter if he prefers the avocado toast or the burrito. He said both are good (of course!?) but if I'm very hungry, to go with the toast since it's a big portion. I was starving so I went with his recommendation. The avocado toast was so underwhelming. They didn't put any tomatoes and the poached egg was so overcooked it was hard boiled. Gross. And the portion was small. I hate leaving a restaurant still hungry. Ugh! There is plenty of street parking and as far as I could tell, it's free.

Jackee O.

Yelp
Came for the run club and ended it with yummy food. Such a cute brewery and coffee shop. The walls are so colorful and fun. The staff was nice and the food was light and filling.

Amelia E.

Yelp
I'm back again to write that I am disappointed in the menu change. FP has some of my favorite beer around but now only serving deep dish pizza I will not be attending as often as I once was. With beers in such high ABV you need to provide more bar foods that you can casually eat while drinking.

Jewell D.

Yelp
Great indoor space, but even better patio. The staff is super accommodating, friendly, and really know how to take care of you. Really good coffee and lattes with fancy flavors and latte art. I ordered the Brunch Bagel with tofu bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. Sweet, smoky, and savory! Visit the website for more reviews! www.thebite2night.com

Michael P.

Yelp
Ate here when it was Axle Brewing Company and liked it, interior is about the same as it was before but with new menu and new beer options. Inside it was community seating and not a ton of seating. I had a smashburger and fries, overall was really good. Had the Ferndale IPA which was also really nice. Really nice place, in the summer will be great with a big outdoor patio.

Navneet K.

Yelp
This was our first time and we will definitely be back! The ambiance is relaxing and the food is scrumptious. I had the Nashville Hot Tofu which is a sandwich that comes with fries and a nice helping of a pickle. My husband had the jumbo wings with miso ranch on the side. He had the Rufus IPA and I had the Margarita Gose. We both loved our drinks! I forgot to take a pic of the wings and my sandwich before I started eating (oops!).

Albert T.

Yelp
Still a great place to spend an afternoon whether you want to be in the sun or not. Since I've last been here, the menu has changed, but food is still great. There appears to be several more vegan/vegetarian offerings.

Nicole E.

Yelp
Order at the beer counter. Sit outside. They have a big patio area. Some seats are under the open tent as well. We ordered the taquitos, chips and guacamole, peach lemonade, Peruvian salad with pulled chicken and a fried chicken sandwich too, which comes with chips and salsa, the verde. You can upgrade the side to fries. They bring the food out to you. You do have to bus your own table at the end. The guacamole isn't too bad, made in house. The chips are okay. A couple of small pieces of the avocado skin made it into the mix. The taquitos are yummy, crunchy. Eating outside isn't so fun, the flies are aggressive and relentless too. The Peruvian salad is okay, some greens would have been nice with it. The peach lemonade is so-so, the peach and lemonade doesn't do it for me much. Tastes odd to me and off too. The fried chicken is tasty.

Chloe F.

Yelp
I accidentally walked a mile in a half in the rain to get to Ferndale Project, and I'm happy to say it was worth it. I can only review the establishment based on on the one time that I went which was midweek, during the day and it was rainy so there was literally only two other people there, but I really enjoyed the vibe. The Nashville Tofu Sandwich was delicious, but needed a bit more sauce (I would ask for sauce on the side next time). I loved that the beers were very clearly labeled as sour, hoppy, etc when you first walk in. I'm not a huge beer drinker and it helped me make a tasty decision. Hope to make it back soon!

Suzzette M.

Yelp
Menu changes regularly. The beer choices are great!! The white chicken chili was perfect for lunch on a fall day!

Danielle T.

Yelp
So I've bought a few beer packs before that I thought were just okay. The chocolate peanut butter stout was alittle thick and the margarita gose was scrunch your nose sour! But this review is based on my visit the other day! I was going to have a flight but you couldn't try everything because some were out of cans! So I finally found 5 I could sample then I went to pay! It was a $19 flight! I was actually shocked by this! And truthfully I didn't love any of the beers.. They were drinkable and that's about it! My friend ordered the avocado toast which she said was amazing!! Then ordered the Berry Berry bamboozie! It was literally bubbling the entire time and she couldn't even drink it! The two stars are for the amazing avocado toast and how fast it was! And the awesome outside seating patio that was HUGE with multiple seating options!

Amy W.

Yelp
I had not realized that I have been here previously until I got out of the car. It was called something else at the time but I loved the outdoor area in the evenings. I needed this tag so decided to take the trip. Since covid, breweries have very limited hours so getting to them can be very challenging especially on week days. I was very happy to be able to get here and get my tags. Also they participate in hop passport so you get 50% off your first two drinks. Absolutely can't complain about that lol! The beers were delicious and the owner was delightful to talk to.

Ed W.

Yelp
We stopped in here the week we moved to Ferndale. This is a wonderful place. First, we liked the beer selections. Second, the food was great. Third, everyone was super friendly. The have a collection of board games, which is always fun. The place is also dog-friendly. We don't have a pooch -- the cats would throw a fit -- but we do like dogs. There was a chocolate lab lying underneath a toddler having a snack. The poor thing's back was covered in crumbs, but he didn't seem to mind. We are looking forward to coming back often.

Dayna S.

Yelp
I've been here many times but today was not a great experience. The person taking my order looked at me like I had three heads when I asked what other drinks they had besides coffee and beer. I don't think that's a strange question normally, but especially if your menu doesn't list all the drinks and also it was 1pm, not really prime coffee or beer time. The food is usually so good, so I was super bummed when it was barely mediocre today. The kids grilled cheese was just some stale, dry, over toasted bread with one slice of barely melted American cheese. The veggie sandwich with tofu was tiny, and missing the giardineira and most of the tofu. Nobody asks if your food is okay after it comes out, and I was there with my 3 year old, so I wasn't going to hunt someone down to complain or wait another 20 minutes for a new order anyway. It also wouldn't hurt to wipe down your counters where the water and condiments are, and maybe vacuum the kids area?

Cassy J.

Yelp
We are huge fans of Eastern Market Brewing, so we knew we needed to check out The Ferndale Project when we were in Ferndale the other night. We were so glad we did because it is an awesome place to hang out and have a beer outdoors! With an extensive beer selection (as well as seltzers, ciders and wines), a huge and comfortable beer garden and friendly service, this is a place we would be quite often if we lived closer!

Sewa W.

Yelp
This place is great for a casual get together over some craft/local beers and some great bites. By the purveyors of the Eastern Market Brewing Company, if you're a member with EMBC then your membership perks also apply here. I do love that their patio is also pup friendly (as long as your pup is friendly too) and they have ample indoor seating as well. I went yesterday for the first time with a few friends who are regulars. I can see why they go regularly, it's just so welcoming! And my burger and fries were surprisingly tasty! The fries are hand cut and well seasoned and my burger was generous and juicy, not a wimpy patty with sad lettuce...this one hit the spot. I washed that all down with a Butterfly Water, a really beautiful seltzer water that is tinged purple and made butterfly pea flower, lemongrass and lavender. Super refreshing and drinkable. For a Thursday night, It wasn't too busy and they had March Madness/the MSU basketball game going - there were definitely some Spartans in there which I loved. They do offer vegetarian and vegan friendly options too. While more places are offering these options, not all of them make it tasty. My friend who tends to lean vegetarian loves their Chick-Faux-Let Sammy and says it's delicious. I forgot to take a picture but it looked great! While the parking lot is smaller (to accommodate the outdoor seating area), the street parking is ample. I would definitely go back again and check out more of their food offerings and other tasty brews.

Gary B.

Yelp
Extensive renovation took place. Food and beer is about the same. Service continues to get better, since when they first opened

Matt V.

Yelp
I'm wondering what is going on with the Ferndale Project beer selection. There used to be a large variety of great IPAs, but lately one or two "just ok" choices. Also wondering about the lower abvs. Last year I gave 5 stars, but on the decline lately. Hoping for a resurgence.

Shaun-Michael M.

Yelp
Had the Grilled Chicken Sammy with fries and the Ferndale IPA. IPA 3/5 Fries 5/5 (Absolutely Slapped) Grilled Chicken Sammy 2/5 (Dry Chicken breast)

Alysia T.

Yelp
Very good! The staff was very sweet and the food was delicious! Will definitely be going back. Cute spot

Cin N.

Yelp
I mean it's set up like a community college cafeteria and they truly only have beer. Bright asf in there with barely any music, truly the goofiest vibes i've ever experienced in a bar. I felt like I was late for an econ final the whole time but the people were nice at least.

Kaela K.

Yelp
Cute aesthetic, friendly service and good food. The outdoor seating in the summer is so fun - the indoor seating in the winter is nice. I found their mocha and matcha to not be very sweet - somewhat less palatable than I hoped for.

Dina M.

Yelp
Really loved coming here. I liked how spacious it was. You order your own food/beer at the counter and they are so nice and let you sample as many beers as you want. If you order food they give you a buzzer and once the food is ready you go grab it. Long tables, easy for lots of friends to sit. Just a great, fun atmosphere. There's even a play area for kids. They also have outdoor seating. I got the lamb burger which was good, fries were great. Cauliflower app was okay, i didn't realize it was cauliflower on top of rice.

Julie K.

Yelp
Our favorite place. Great beer, great food with vegan options, and awesome dog friendly patio.

Kirsten F.

Yelp
This is walking distance from our house and we used to go every weekend. It was the only safe place with great outdoor seating during the pandemic. They really listened to their staff on protocols and I felt very safe going with our toddler. We haven't been back for the whole summer because it's been too hot and their menu change wasn't enticing. HOWEVER, they listened to their customers and recently unveiled a whole new menu with favorites from their original and Axle menu. PLUS they added real brunch food!!! We went for Sunday brunch and had the best French toast and breakfast burrito ever. So glad they have this option again. I love going there in the morning with our little one to get a coffee and now they have more than just bagels and donuts. The lunch/dinner menu also looks great and can't wait to try it out. Only negative was the espresso machine was out, the cold brew was sour, and I felt bad for the one person behind the counter working as the line kept building at 10am. I know staffing is tough and I'm sure they didn't anticipate a rush since the weather was perfect and the new menu just came out.

Yelp
I enjoyed Axle and all, but EMBC/Ferndale Project is a notch or two above. My girlfriend and I went for their member's only opening, and they were packed. First, the beer -- I think anyone in the craft beer scene knows EMBC tends to do good or better stuff, and the bevvies here are no exception. The lady and I each got an NEIPA, and they were both very good ... Seeing Green especially was a great representation of the style. Salad Days wasn't as primo, but I'd still definitely get it again. The food is outstanding. They had a limited menu, so we each got the Hot Tofu Sammy with fries and split a pretzel. The sandwich was 100% without-a-doubt the best tofu anything that I've ever had. Incredibly crispy breading, and super flavorful (and not gummy) on the inside. They must freeze and marinate their tofu well, because it was seriously an award-worthy sammich. The pretzel was a big boy -- $9, with a side of beer cheese (we got that vegan stuff) and sweet mustard. The beer cheese was alright -- it needed a little more salt and "oomph", probably in the way of vinegar. Regardless, I'd get it again. The seating isn't ideal for me, personally, since it's mostly (all?) communal. I can deal with it, but *fuck me* I don't care to sit with strangers. It's really the same as it was at Axle, just laid out differently. In all, love the place. It exceeded my expectations, and I can't wait to try more of their vegan options and, of course, their bomb ass beer. Welcome to Ferndale, EMBC!

Yelp
If you do nothing else, get yourself some butter chicken pasties and a can of Fur Mints for your four legged best friend, a four pack of raspberry shock tart and curl up on this rainy, pandemic day!! I love these guys. Literally making life a little easier during very stressful times. They make detroit proud with their sense of community and craft products. You can also pick these items up on tuesdays at eastern market drive thru shopping!

Yelp
Stopped by on a Friday night to see what was new in the neighborhood. While the place was packed at 8pm, by the time we left a little after 9, there were many seats open. You order at the bar and seat yourself. We had the tofu sandwich, chicken wings, and a pineapple cider. The tofu sandwich was the best item, although the accompanying pita chips were pretty much chip-shaped rocks. Chicken wings were also good and juicy. There are games available to play and a tiny parking lot!

Yelp
The info was pretty disorganized- i called ahead and was told it would be fine and then when I got there i was told I'd have to wait, then when I got my food it wasn't actually like toasted? I want to love this place though. The cashier told me that wasps on the donuts and in the smoothie machine happened which kind of sucks but she was kind. I hope to give this place another chance one day, my main appeal was the vegan donuts

Yelp
We love Ferndale Project. Ample parking, and Great vibes. We've been coming since they opened and love seeing how they have grown! One of the newer features is an area for kids to play that is somewhat closed off and as a parent it's amazing. The beers are great and the food is phenomenal. The staff also works so hard and is very helpful

Yelp
Not the best selection of beers unless you like sours & NEIPA. I do like New England IPAs, but not to drink all night. They did have a Kolsh & a "stout" on tap that looked like an amber beer in color & tasted sweet, malty, & light -not like a traditional stout. There was no B indoor seating at the moment. Masks were required, even for those that are vaccinated. Our "bartender" wore a mask, but there was another bartender who didn't have a mask on...I was confused. Why could he go maskless, but not the public if vaccinated? We also ordered a root beer & I can only imagine it was made in house because it smelled like root beer, but didn't taste like it at all. That was the only NA drink at the time. We came with out 2 children (9, 7). We really wanted to eat there, but we're not feeling the beer selection & feared dinner would take awhile as outside seating was the only option & packed.
