Why Now Is the Time to Visit Flores, Indonesia

"The September opening of the modern, ocean-facing Ayana Komodo Resort at Waecicu Beach may change all that. Each of its 205 rooms has floor-to-ceiling windows and a balcony, which means full-on views of the fluorescent-blue Flores Sea. There’s also an 820-foot private jetty and a fleet of boats at the ready so you can get this close to Komodo dragons at Rinca Island or snorkel over healthy, dense beds of soft and hard coral. You could even bake in a few days aboard the hotel’s own ship, the Lako di’a, a 177-foot traditional phinisi that’s been updated with nine guest rooms."

The Ayana Hotel hit our expectations and beyond! Could not recommend this hotel more. Even with a small incident occurring, Silvester at reception, dealt with it and was courteous, professional and went above and beyond to make us feel special again for our honeymoon stay, exceptional service. Only warning I will give is that if you want a proper Sea View Room make sure to book a Deluxe Ocean View Room as they are floor 6-9. All rooms are top tier but if you want that view don’t go with the normal Ocean View Room as that’s floor 2-5 (not the hotels fault at all by the way more on our agent). 2 pools, 3 restaurants, pier with turquoise waters and marine life everywhere. Couples massage also phenomenal. Some of the most spectacular views! Staff are all well trained and are interested in your stay/holiday.

From the moment we arrived at AYANA Komodo, we felt so welcome, relaxed, and in awe of the breathtaking beauty surrounding us. Our room was absolutely stunning and impeccably maintained.||The pools and outdoor activities were a highlight, especially being able to swim right off the dock, which was such a special experience. Watching the sunset with a drink in hand at the ocean’s edge felt truly magical.||Every meal we had was fantastic, with a special mention to breakfast. They kindly prepared a snack pack for our toddler to enjoy later, which was such a thoughtful touch.||We took a day trip to see some of the islands on the Ayana boat and would 100% recommend to do this as it was such an awesome day out, and the staff were fantastic. The boat was very comfortable to take a toddler on. ||We were travelling with our 3-year-old, and every single staff member made us feel so cared for, especially our little boy. Their warmth and friendliness made our stay even more memorable.||A heartfelt thank you to Tri, Rendi, Beatrix, Nita, Dito, Sofia, and many others for making our experience so special. We already miss you all and hope to return one day!||If you’re considering a stay, don’t hesitate everything was perfect, and we truly can’t fault a thing

ZERO HOSPITALITY HOTEL BAD STAFF COMMUNICATION Yes they have good room, nice room service But ZERO HOSPITALITY I stayed at Ayana from 24-27 july and not once got a good hospitality from them. What I mean by zero hospitality is that from arrival the guess officer doesn't speak nicely to us From start, they don't serve us any welcome drink, but I saw other guesses being offered and brought the welcome drink (at first I thought ok) Security ON PURPOSE not to close our car rear door upon security checking from the day we stay up until we check out the room receptionist doesn't mention any of this hotel review and I heard other foreigner coming is being explained by receptionist of the hotel feature (private island tour, sunrise on Sylvia Hill, etc) Duty manager (Martin?) Showed disrespect gesture to my friends Understand that me as a guess need to actively searching the feature But that's not the point of good hospitality right? Yes I am Indonesian, but I feel like this hotel is discriminate Indonesian people itself Very disappointed with AYANA Although the hotel is nice, but most probably I am not going to stay at this hotel again The room? Room is good, but they gave me flickering lamp room So much for luxury hotel :) I can conclude by AYANA service that I experience : "AYANA WAECICU DOESN'T PREFER TO SERVE LOCAL GUESS PROPERLY" I still choose Accor Group, ACCOR GROUP TREAT THE GUESS THE SAME AND VERY WELL DONE

The lobby and the view are beautiful but that's all. For so many rooms all the spaces (swimming pool and breakfast) are tiny. In addition, from 8 a.m. all the deckchairs are reserved by towels while no one is present and that during 4 hours of excursion it is a shame and not respectful for others. This should not be allowed.

amazing location. unbeatable views on sea. perfect gateway to corall reefs🤿 and Komodo national park🦖. friendly staff. we enjoyed our two nights at this beautiful hotel. certainly not cheap but overall worth it. one small area for improvement: bring some patience to restaurant or pool bar as service can be a bit slow (we had to wait 30min for our coffee at breakfast, and 1h for a pizza⏳).

It was my first time in Labuan Bajo, & I instantly fell in love. As a city person, I truly appreciated the peaceful atmosphere, easy access everywhere, & zero traffic. I joined the morning yoga with a stunning sunrise view, snorkeled at Pink Beach, & enjoyed the cruise. The hotel’s facilities, service, & food were all perfect. I’d love to come back :)

A wonderful resort with an amazing view, amazing service and food, and plenty of activities. Ayana delivers service with a genuine smile. Staff are always smiling, welcoming and relaxed. All the rooms have stunning views of the sea and island. While there is no beachfront, you can swim and snorkel off the jetty where the water is clear and clean. The hotel also offers a private beach on an island nearby which is accessible by the hotel boat shuttle. The beach at the island is small with very basic facilities. The corals and snorkelling is better at the hotel jetty than at the private beach. We frequented the Rinca Restaurant and loved the food and service. Breakfast is plentiful and varied and service unbeatable. All the staff are friendly and always obliging with special mention to Frieda and Ana who always attended to us:) The poolside cafe is also very good, with staff serving complimentary snacks and drinks from time to time. The pool is lovely and refreshing with an amazing view. The hotel offers lots of activities - complimentary and paid - which are all well and carefully managed. Don’t miss any !

We had a fantastic 5 night stay at this hotel with our two sons who were 7 and 9. We all loved our stay and will hopefully return one day. We had two connecting rooms on level 9. The views were stunning, set off by the Bougainvillea and they layout well thought out with desks facing the view and dreamy baths. The staff were all very friendly. We did and loved all the complimentary activities including coral planting, snorkelling on the house reef, paddle boarding, the sunset hike and visiting the private island. We all loved the ocean deck and swimming to the floating pontoon and viewing the coral nursery and Lionfish from the jetty. The pool is lovely and seems to be low chorine (1.5). My husband and sons enjoyed swimming laps. I loved the spa - I'm very fussy and I had an excellent massage from IKA (?) while waiting to check in. The food was generally very good with KISIK the standout - although again expensive $45 for fresh local fish, which was admittedly to delicious. The breakfast buffest was excellent and plentiful, although expensive. Although very expensive we also loved the full day tour to Komodo Island and the Sunset bat watching cruise. The gym is well positioned with a view over the lagoon. Room for improvement: I loved the sunrise yoga, however it could have been a bit more challenging and varied and I did not like one instructor saying it was only stretching and trying to sell private yoga - it doesn't cost much to run a daily group yoga class. Also the mats need updating and were old and disintegrating - BYO if you have room. My only hesitation about returning for a longer stay would be the limited dinner options. Perhaps they could offer a free shuttle into town a couple of nights a week and/or the sunset bar upstairs is so stunning I would like to have spent more time up there, but at present the menu is limited to bar snacks. However, they did let us order from Rica and have the food delivered to the bar, but for longer stays it would be nice for the bar to have its own more substantial dinner menu. The kids club is indoors and is really only for young kids, but there is so much for older kids to do you don't really need a kids club.
