"Run by a lovely Palestinian couple, Abdul and Ayat, this Bay Ridge restaurant serves classics like hummus and shawarma, but make sure to try out some of the signature Palestinian dishes as well, like maklouba (layers of meat, rice, and vegetables flipped upside down) and fattat lahma (six-layer dish of meat, rice, chickpeas, garlic tahini, crispy pita slivered almonds, and mint). Don’t skip out on the za’atar sajj (unleavened flatbread) either." - Jiniya Azad & Sameen Choudhry

Google
I’ve eaten at Ayat about five times over the past few years, both dining in and ordering via Seamless. The food has always tasted great — no complaints there. Unfortunately, the portion sizes have gotten so small that I don’t think I’ll be coming back. I just ordered a chicken bowl for around $20 and was shocked at how little chicken was included. I actually weighed it: just 94 grams (about 0.2 lbs). It’s a shame — the food is genuinely delicious. If the portions were more reasonable, I’d happily be a loyal customer for years to come.

Google
Very delicious, great service, no complaints, loved the chicken on rice with almonds cauliflower, and eggplant. The cold apps were amazing, especially loved baba ganooj

Google
The food was very good. I ordered the Maklouba. The chicken was seasoned very well and the rice was very flavorful. My only gripe is that it took over 45 min to receive my food and when I did receive it it was the wrong dish. If not for that I would rate it 5 stars. Definitely a great spot for a hangout with friends or a date night.

Google
I was honestly impressed!! Who would say that Palestinian food would taste delicious, I ordered Chiken Kebab and I loved it, the ingredients had a fresh taste and the taste exceeded my expectations. The super fast service, plus the staff was very friendly and efficient, would definitely come back to this place! Highly recommended

Google
One of my personal favorite places to eat at. Amazing food and service. Please order Mezze filistini for a cold appetizer. You won't be disappointed 🤝

Jess BR

Google
I saw their new menu so I dared to try their new salad and I was delighted with the flavor combination. The service was friendly. I will return with more friends so they can try their new dishes.

Google
Food was good and arrived quickly. My favorite was the cigar rolls with cheese!

Google
1st time having Palestinian food. Delicious is all I can say about the food.

Yelp
I still have not gotten to dine inside and enjoy the rooftop or the BYOB option, but Ayat is one of my favorite places to order takeout from because they are fast, delicious comfort food at a reasonable price! The lamb platter is amazing, and comes with generous sides. I love you Ayat!

Emily X.

Yelp
Large plates of food. The waiter gave us pita without us asking, but at the end we were charged for it...The pita was very dry and hard, definitely did not need it and would not have gotten it... The food is tasty and I like that they give you salad and rice on the plate.

Yelp
Not bad but I had a better experience and meal at the SI location. Still worth a visit though! Only one lady was running the ground so it was hard getting her attention, but I definitely felt bad for her. Chairs are metal so not the comfiest to sit on. The complimentary pita bread with the assortment of garnishes was really good or I was really hungry. I tried not to eat too much to save room for the stuff we ordered though. The cheese manaquish is a must as always. I also got the chicken kebab mashawy. The spinach filled pie was not very memorable.

Yelp
4/5 Mixed Grill - we loved the variety of the different grilled meat options on this platter! Overall had great grill flavor, but it did lack some flavor that is usually characteristic of Middle Eastern cuisine. 4/5 Pita ($2): Served piping hot with olive oil and Zaatar, which is always appreciated! A bit on the dry side and could use some salt for flavor. The service is also on the slower side, we came on a Friday afternoon and there were 3 other tables, but our platter took a while to be served. Also note a ortion size, we split one order as a light lunch!

Yelp
We made ressos for six people for noon on the Saturday of Mothers Day weekend. We were running late so luckily, they were able to accommodate for 12:30. They have a few locations in Brooklyn but this one seemed like the most friendly for a sit-down Mother's Day lunch. The downstairs area has seating but seems more casual. It's nicer upstairs (which is where we were seated). There's also an outdoor patio on the second floor but they weren't open that day. We ordered: -Mezzen Filistini - a mixed appetizer of hummus, baba ghanoush, muhammarah, tabbouleh, salata tahina and labneh. My faves were the tabbouleh and the muhammarah. They give you complimentary bread with zaatar and olive oil at the beginning so just make sure you don't eat it all at the beginning. Otherwise, you won't have anything to dip the mezze in -Falafel - I didn't care for the tahini sauce but the falafel itself was great -Fattat jaj and fattat lahma - 6 layer dish of meat, rice, chickpeas, garlic tahini, crispy pita, slivered almonds, and parsley. We had one with beef and one with chicken. I preferred the chicken because the beef was a little dry. The slivered almonds added a nice crunch to the dish -Mixed grill with rice - this had beef and chicken kebab, lamb chops, and lamb (?) kefta. I really enjoyed the kefta Overall, it was a nice experience and everyone seemed to enjoy the food.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant located in Industry City, Brooklyn. When you first sit, they provide you with pita bread and olive oil dip to start. I ordered the beef shawarma plate as my main and I would come again. The beef was well cooked and paired with their sauce and rice. I also enjoyed the cucumber salad included in the meal. Staff was friendly and I overall enjoyed the music inside.

Yelp
I'm always praising Ayat (The bay ridge location) So I decided to try out a different location for a change. Kind of wish I didn't. As many times as I've ordered the mix shawarma platter I know difference in taste once the food hits my mouth. For starters: Instead of babaganoush & hummus spreads they gave me some red spread with nuts in it. I'm honestly not even sure what it is. (Assuming they did not have hummus) Which is fine, but I still feel like they could've notified/asked me if I was okay with this replacement instead of just adding it to my plate. I would've been super ok without it. (I did try it though, & was not fond of it whatsoever.) Secondly: I LOVE babaganoush with my whole heart, but they put hella lemon on it which overpowered the whole eggplant flavor for me. It was just WAY too acidic & was very watery. Sadly, I took a few spoonful's and just couldn't finish the rest. Lastly: The beef was cooked unevenly. (Or at least that's the parts they decided to serve me) Most parts were fat & no meat while others where super chewy & dry :( The chicken though, tasted really juicy & good! But I don't think it was shawarma chicken instead it tasted like the drumstick part of the chicken(dark meat) just cut up! It tasted good so I'm not complaining about that part. I just know the difference as I am a cook myself. Now hear me out. I'm not discouraging anyone to eat here with my review but do recommend to try the other location instead & you will not be disappointed. I promise. Maybe they were having a bad start of their day but I myself, just wouldn't eat at this location again!

Gabi L.

Yelp
Amazing food, beautiful location and the nicest people you'll ever meet. With all the places in industry city catered to take and go, this is a great place to stop for lunch/dinner (while also a great takeout).

Reema S.

Yelp
Ever since my last review, I have had Ayat food at a catered event and also ordered delivery yesterday. I must say - WOW. The beef shawarma arrived hot, juicy and iconic. Freshly shaved, dripping with fatty goodness, perfectly seasoned, filling of the shawarma perfectly rolled in the thinnest and perfectly crisped lavash bread. Heaven!! The shawarma platter was fantastic as always. The garlic sauce is delivering on flavor, salad is fresh, baba ganoush and hummus is creamy, topped generously with olive oil. The quality of food Ayat is dishing out is absolutely phenomenal!! Delivery was fast, efficient. I love this place!!

Annelie R.

Yelp
My friend mentioned this location to visit and it did not disappoint. It is definitely recommended to make reservations, as sometimes they would turn people away because of it being packed. When ordering, you go up to the counter. Just wish when I ordered it they mentioned it would be this much, she didn't ask me and automatically made it a large. Def be sure to clarify the size. Either way, I absolutely loved my meal. We wanted to get the monster cookie and sadly at the time of visiting, they ran out. They also have an upstairs and an outdoor on the second floor, it was just cold at the time to do outdoors so we sat on the first floor. I would definitely come back to try their other dishes and hopefully they have the dessert!

Janet Y.

Yelp
Located in Industry city but tucked into a side street, you won't know it's there unless you know to look for it. The food is delicious and the ambiance is super cute. They have 2 levels and outdoor seating on a patio/roof. The platters are generous in portions so you will definitely get filled up! I can't really say they have enough space for big groups so call ahead if you're traveling with a big group. It's definitely more fun though because then you get to try so many more dips and stuff off their menu! As for me, I am looking forward to going back either on my own or bringing my friends along. FYI: Service was a bit slow during lunch and definitely could be better. We hardly saw our server and waited a while before someone (another server) came upstairs (not to check on us) which we had to flag down to get our check. They also have that pesky 3.5% fee for using a credit card.

Anne R.

Yelp
Soooo good. Don't hesitate or sleep on this decision. The flavors are excellent, textures and sauces on point with flares of classic and modern updates. Had the Vegan Platter $21 which was excellent for two as a meal or three as tapas when paired with the complimentary pita bread and Lemonana $5. The upstairs seating had some nicer views and breeze than staying in downstairs, but I felt a little bad for the servers going up and down, but they know what they signed up for, right? The service pace is relaxed, so don't come in a hurry, but come to enjoy and relax!

Ollie N.

Yelp
This place is fantastic!! The food is stunning with generous portions and most importantly DELICIOUS! Our server was so sweet and attentive and it seemed she was dealing with everyone so props to her. I really can't wait to go back as this location has plenty of seating and it's easy to get to. For the 2 of us, our bill was under $60 which is a score for date night :) the roof is beautiful especially during these warm summer nights. I want to try the whole menu! It's a shame when we went they were out of the tahini ice cream but I'll return to try the desserts.

Immad A.

Yelp
The mansaf is a meal good for 2-3 people. I loved the food here especially that dish. They have a rooftop with great views. The pic is of fattat lahm which is also good. Great Palestinian food #down_with_the_occupation #free_palestine

Yelp
I've been to a few Ayat locations, and they're all incredible. This is probably my favorite Palestinian restaurant in the city. The ambiance is great, the place has an incredible mural, and the service was lovely. The falafel is fantastic, crunchy on the outside, moist and flavorful on the inside. Hummus is spicy and lovely. The kefta, man, the kefta is so good, as is the rice that accompanies it. A STRONG recommendation for this restaurant, as well as all Ayat locations.

Mishal K.

Yelp
SOOOO good. We got the mixed grill platter and it was amazing. Also got the lemon drink and it complimented the food very well. The server was kind and attentive and I'd go back anytime!!

Marnie K.

Yelp
I've been here a few times and the food is always fresh and delicious! Most recently, I had the vegan platter and it was so tasty and very filling, which is rare with vegan food imo. I am usually not a big falafel person but I actually love the falafels here. They're juicy and not at all dry. The hummus, stuffed grape leaves and grilled cauliflower were full of flavor and tasted so fresh. I also LOVE the fresh bread.

Cam A.

Yelp
I've been here a couple of times, both to dine in, and I've also taken food to go. I would say the stop doesn't always seem jolly, but they get their jobs done do it efficiently. This place transport her to Palestine. My favorite thing to order Here is the falafel platter the hummus and the eggplant appetizer is a must try.

Trivina N.

Yelp
Hello Hello Hello, This is T. from NYC N Demand. If you are around in town stop by for the best food I've ever had. Normally I wouldn't eat meat but I know this place prays over the food, which is good with me. I trust you. I got the beef small yesterday. Today I just order the beef large. My wife picked up the Vegan. Next we are going to get the salmon and shrimp. So far both times has been to go. Next time I want to stay and check out the roof top. When it comes to bad reviews take them with a gain of salt. This place was packed when we came through. Love this place.

Rabiha A.

Yelp
Stop by Ayat for dinner after not eating much for the day. We ordered the Fattat Lahma, which is big enough for two very hungry people or 3-4 moderately hungry people. The dish felt dry, so we asked for more garlic sauce. However, we're given a very small helping in comparison to the size of the meal. The sauce did help, while it lasted. The almonds in the dish were a nice touch and I appreciated crunch. The service was absent, as we had to walk up directly to the register to ask the hostess for help or additional water. The water is served in very small cups and they don't leave any on the table for self replenishment.

Kevin Z.

Yelp
What a good time. Except the 20% mandatory tip added to the bill. What has NYC dining become? Food is delicious and the plating is on par with the casual dining. I would say if they use real table cloth. Then I will be amazed with what this place and IC had to offer especially for PPP on the meal. We got the drink, meal for 2 and two appetizers which is plenty for 2 of us and a lunch to take home. I will say the portion is big but filled with rice and bread. It's better than some place that charges $8 for a small plate of rice. Definitely try the lemonade as it's not too sweet and very refreshing. I love the layout but if you expect to get some quiet dining, this isn't very good for that. You can hear every table. It's more of a casual place for friends and family. I can't wait for a warm day for their outdoor to be available. We have the enclosed upstairs which is very warm and comfortable. One of the servers doesn't speak English well but got our order 95% correctly. Also the service is fast. A bit too fast. We order and 5 minutes later, our food comes. I wish the meal is a little bit hotter as it's warm. They can use another minute on the grill. Too much filling. You don't need bread on rice seriously. Overall. It's a pleasant time

Francesca J.

Yelp
Food was amazing. We visited early in the day and service was quick and attentive. Beautiful location, albeit a little warm indoors. Had the chicken shawarma platter with rice, hummus, baba ghanoush and salata. I enjoyed every bite and will return.

Brenda M.

Yelp
Great place to stop and eat while hanging in Industry City. We had the lamb kebabs and kibbeh, flavorful and delicious! Service was great!

Mais S.

Yelp
Great food! Love the ambiance and the decor. Service was fast and food tasted authentic. Always love coming here

Margaret B.

Yelp
Just delicious. Wonderful service and food! Beers kebab, pita, and lemonade was the perfect lunch.

R N.

Yelp
Unbelievable food. I had the Fattat Lahma and Tabbouleh and devoured every bite. Highly recommended.

Dylan V.

Yelp
This is a cute little restaurant in Brooklyn. Serving authentic Middle Eastern dishes (specifically Palestinian), this is a great place to visit if you're looking for a Mediterranean fix. The staff is very friendly and quick. I got the mix shawarma, some hummus, and two glasses of limonona. They were all delicious. The mix shawarma was extremely filling. The limonona was perfectly sweet and not bitter tasting like American lemonade. The walls are also lined with some interesting art. This place made me yearn to be in the Middle East again.

Zihad P.

Yelp
The water tasted old. The food was too salty. The hummus and babaganoush was too sour. I had mixed grill and everything was way over cooked and too charred. The 6 layer dish with yogurt was horrid. It tasted like moldy milk. The kefta tahina was very sour as well. I don't think they tasted the food before they sent it out. The appetizers besides the spread were ok. Honestly the best thing in the whole restaurant was free, the bread. Never coming back again. Came in starving and left starving. One of the worst places I've been to. I don't even write reviews but I had to for this one. 1/10 experience.

Jan S.

Yelp
Delicious food, great service! Wait staff is helpful and kind. I look forward to returning.

Colette H.

Yelp
Casual Palestinian restaurant with warm, friendly service and huge portions. Definitely order the Mezze Filistini, which is a mixed platter of dips, and large enough to share with multiple people. The Fattat Lahma is a standout dish, with 6 layers of lamb, rice, chickpeas, garlic tahini, crispy pita, slivered almond, and mint. Supposed to serve 2, but could easily serve 3-4.

Boohoo G.

Yelp
Got mixed grill and dips. Very average across the board. The most disappointing aspect is how dry the meat was.

Ashraf A.

Yelp
Surprised to see low reviews on this place but we still were willing to give it a shot. The food was great the mezze filistini and mixed grill was the perfect meal for 2 adults and a 7year old. Food was flavorful and plentiful. My 7year old got the lemonade which he loved.

David F.

Yelp
Very salty food. Not tasty and way over priced. The chicken was dry. The beef tasted like it was reheated in the microwave. The rice is oily. Do not recommend.

Mohsin X.

Yelp
The food isn't tasty and service is horrible. Over priced tasteless food and a rip off in Ramadan. You'll just be charged for the ambiance. Thank god we didn't cater.

Amanda G.

Yelp
I love the Ayat in bay ridge so was looking forward to going to this location. As soon as we walked in, no one greeted us and I finally had to flag someone down. The host said they were all booked with reservations and couldn't help us. I totally understand being full, but I was surprised by the lack of customer service. That makes a huge difference as I do not plan to visit this location again.

Amin S.

Yelp
If anyone is interested in and loves to enjoy Middle Eastern Cuisine this restaurant's 2 Brooklyn locations, plus their new Staten Island location, really feature the best delicious recipes which come from the core of Palestine and its culture. They present the food intrinsically Palestinian and artistically Palestinian and uniquely Middle Eastern.

GarGuPi L.

Yelp
This is the second location of Bay Ridge's acclaimed Palestinian restaurant Ayat is now open to the ever prospering Industry City. Expect their popular kebabs and mansaf will be served along with rare finds such as fasoulia (green beans cooked in a tomato stew with beef) and bamia (a similar preparation made using okra). Closed on Monday and hookah will also be introduced.

Mateen P.

Yelp
Came here an hour before they said they were closed online but was refused service. I'd suggest they change their hours online to avoid people having to go out of their way to dine here and be turned down at the door.

Lukas H.

Yelp
Pretty mediocre to be brief. Specifying that this was the 36st location to my party, this location did not feel like the Ayat restaurant I had heard rave reviews about. They do not serve alcohol which was a disappointment, but when the food came out there were no utensils for serving these massive platters. The chicken maqloubah was a little dry and with one big piece of chicken for two, it wasn't the easiest to share with butter knives that don't cut. Would recommend other Ayat locations before the one in Industry City. Free Palestine.

Emily F.

Yelp
Favorite middle eastern food between the slope and bay ridge. This place never disappoints and has become a staple. The portions are so generous and the babganoush and hummus are unforgettable; thinking about it makes my mouth water. Super friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Margie F.

Yelp
If this is the Ayat in industry City,The mixed grill platter was flavorless and very dry.The service was uneventful, not very fresh friendly servers and no ambiance whatsoever.Very disapointed. The Ayat in Atlantic Avenue was the total opposite.I totally recommend that one.

Ron K.

Yelp
Food - very good Delivery Time: 2 hours for a simple order Portions- Tiny! Kibbeh: ONE! 3 are shown Bread: 1 pita for entire order! and all that with a 2 hour PLUS wait. what? Like there no other similar food in the hood? move on

Jazmine R.

Yelp
Delicious. Friendly. Awesome portions. Great environment. The beef and lamb shawarma was amazing.

Sara B.

Yelp
Bland food, chewy meats, stale pita on their fattoush salad and fattah which basically ruins the meal. Besides the pretty decor and nice ambience, there is nothing worth going back for.

Ann A.

Yelp
The best thing about this place is the location near Industry City. The server told us we could BYOB so we went to just get 2 beers to have with our meal. Then he comes to the table and rudely says "just so you know we will charge you $15 cork fee for the beer" We replied that he didn't mention this and it's odd given you don't even have a liquor license. Cork fee - beer. Turns out BYOB isn't actually allowed and they want to profit on alcohol sales when they don't offer it or have permission to sell it?!?! Won't return just because I think that's bad practice and the waiter wasn't clear at all. The beyond rude, over the top manager seems bad for business. She was rude when we entered and we couldn't understand why, place was basically empty so I'm not sure what overwhelmed her so much.. asking if there is a table shouldn't be met with rudeness. Maybe a bad day for her but we would never return. Good luck with this BYOB charges.. maybe read up on NYS laws surrounding it a bit and do the right thing going forward. Food was ok, not worth the lousy service.

Nile E Coyote E.

Yelp
I got this delivered and everything I ordered was great. My only critique is the toum is now some kind of vinegary mayonnaise... :( Toum is one of my favorite things to eat and I am so disappointed they've serving this instead.
