Ayla - Review - 6th Arr. - Lyon - The Infatuation

"The carnivorous Les Halles de Paul Bocuse, opposite Lyon’s covered food market, is a daring place to open a fusion restaurant starring vegetarian dishes. It hasn’t stopped Ayla from catapulting to overnight fame faster than Billie Eilish. It’s the first restaurant opened by the young Franco-Lebanese couple who run it, is also one of the few spots where small plates actually work for sharing, thanks to the generous helpings. The menu changes seasonally, but two classics never budge: the tempura vine leaves on labneh and the squid with shiitake mushrooms and parsley. A long list of French wines is par for the course in a Lyonnais restaurant, but Ayla also has plenty of Lebanese wines by the glass and bottle." - Anna Richards

Absolutely Unforgettable! A Must-Visit This is hands down the best restaurant I've ever been to. The fusion of Lebanese and French cuisine is unique and incredibly well-executed. Every dish we tried was beyond amazing truly a must. The atmosphere is warm and elegant, making the whole experience even more special. The chefs and owners are incredible passionate, welcoming, and clearly dedicated to excellence. An unforgettable dining experience from start to finish.

Truly amazing place. Best food we had during a 2 weeks long holiday in France. Every dish was authentic, tasty and well presented. Great host and nice atmosphere are adding to an experience.

Came in with high expectations based on the reviews — and the restaurant exceeded every one of them! The food was absolutely incredible. Sitting at the bar and watching the chef in action added a whole new layer to the experience. The staff were fantastic — warm, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. Highly, highly recommended!

A must-visit! A fantastic spot for anyone craving a unique fusion of French and Lebanese cuisine. The dishes were thoughtfully prepared with great selected ingredients. My favorites were the carrot salad and the braised cabbage. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and made the experience even more enjoyable

Everything was just perfect- the food, presentation, service, and atmosphere. While everything we ordered tasted really good, the Squid was top notch. Highly recommend this place.

I would give this place 6 stars if I could. From the moment we stepped inside, the warm energy of the staff and the inviting atmosphere made us feel right at home. I’m still in awe of the incredible experience at Ayla. I wish I had two stomachs to try everything on the menu, as every dish sounded amazing, but the food we did order was outstanding—especially the fried vine leaves and the carrot salad, which were absolutely mind-blowing. The service was unlike any I’ve had at any restaurant—so friendly and thoughtful. I came to Lyon for a culinary experience, and Ayla exceeded every expectation. I can’t wait to return!

Came cause the reviews were so great. Im in love… We had the grillied gabbage and lamb sausage in garlic sauce. Both were amazing. For dessert there was flan (orange flavour) with pistachio topping. The food is to die for!!! Literally 7/5

Great food and super friendly staff. The prices are on the level of an ordinary meal but what you get is a culinary experience! We discovered this place and sort of randomly and were skeptical due to the lack of any negative reviews but now I can totally get it! It’s almost impossible not to like these guys, I would definitely recommend it :)
