My friend tells me this is the best pizza in all of Tidewater! So I finally got to try it and can honestly say they do make a good pizza pie. This isn't a secret. In the time we were enjoying our lunch 6 other parties came in and had pizzas brought to their tables as well. The outdoor seating area was inviting (but it was a bit breezy so we ate inside). The interior decor is traditional bar material with lots of wood grain and mirrors. There was plenty of seating and the appetizers were big enough for 4 people to share.

A Norfolk institution for a reason, Azalea Inn & Time Out Sports Bar delivers a reliably satisfying experience that feels like coming home. It’s the kind of comfortable, no-frills spot that manages to be a great family restaurant and a lively sports bar all at once. The extensive menu is a major plus, offering everything from hearty Greek specialties to what is, without a doubt, one of the best pizzas in the city. On our last visit, we went for the classic "Azalea Special" pizza, and it was loaded with toppings, boasting a perfectly cooked crust and generous layers of cheese. It’s clear they haven't cut corners over the years. The atmosphere in the dining room side is relaxed and family-friendly—you can see why it's been a local favorite for generations. On the other side, the Time Out Sports Bar is buzzing whenever there's a game on, with plenty of screens and a great energy. The reason it doesn't quite hit that perfect five-star mark is some minor inconsistency, particularly with service speed on very busy nights. While the staff is always friendly, things can slow down when the place is packed, leading to a longer-than-expected wait for your food. It’s a small wrinkle in an otherwise fantastic neighborhood gem. Nonetheless, for its comforting food, welcoming vibe, and the sheer reliability of a good meal, Azalea Inn is a cornerstone of Norfolk's dining scene that rarely disappoints. It’s a must-try for anyone looking for authentic local flavor.

Hidden Gem with Great Food and Service Azalea Inn & Time Out Sports Bar is a diamond in the rough! Their lunch menu is surprisingly expansive, and with our large group, everyone always finds something they enjoy. I personally always go for the hamburger steak with gravy and mashed potatoes—it’s absolutely delicious. The sweet tea is also spot-on, and the service has always been consistently good with little to no wait for food. This spot is definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area. Great food, friendly staff, and a welcoming atmosphere!

This is one one my favorite local spots. The Greek salad is fantastic, the pizza is phenomenal and they have great drinks. Service is awesome too. I love coming here when I’m in town! Also they have really good ice cream sundaes!

Let's just say my family has been going to this place for many years. It was great back in the day before they expanded. The product was great, and consistent. My problem is not that the price has gone up, but the quality has gone down. I went with my family 5 adults plus one infant. The waitress should have informed us that we were a party of 6, and the tip would automatically be taken out. Wow! I'm 54 years old, and have been going there for years. Never again. Antonio's right around the corner reminds me of old Azalea Inn at half the price. Again tell your staff to inform the customer of a tip automatically be taken out on a party of a certain amount of people. The pizza was cold, doughy, and nothing like it was back in the day. This is coming from a customer that rarely gives a view.

My food was scrumptious. Waitress was horrible. Never asked if i needed anything else water or if my food was good. I attempted a couple of times to grab her attention and she ignored me several times and just looked at me and walked away. I had to ask another waitress for parmesan cheese and crushed red pepper flakes for my pizza. I was provided 5 cents of service and provided a tip of .05 cents. I have never had this poor service at this place.

I have been craving a pastrami sandwich and finally a restaurant that has it on their menu. It was everything I had hoped for and more. The service was also the best I have received in a long time. Kudos to this restaurant for hiring and training their servers to be friendly and attentive. We will definitely be coming back. The tiramasu was yummy and so was the baklava. Although the baklava was heated a touch too long which made it chewy. Still tasty though.

I visited this place for lunch with family and overall it was fairly good. The food could have used a bit more seasoning overall and the nachos were somewhat disappointing. The burger that I personally had was fairly tasty, if not a bit messy. I’ll definitely come back to try something else though.
