Google
This place is out in the middle of no where but so good. Probably one of the best in the AV. Staff is very friendly and appreciative of the visit. Food is great. I got the fajitas with chicken and shrimp and my fiance got the Molcajete.

Michael C.

Google
The food and service were great for a small place. Recommend coming here!!

I discovered this restaurant about 2 years ago and since then I’ve driven the 3-4 hour round trip from Ventura several times, sometimes with friends or meeting them there. Why do I do it? Because it’s the best Mexican food I’ve ever had and it’s served by impeccable staff members. Please don’t judge the restaurant by the exterior of the building……the real joy happens inside! I WILL RETURN OFTEN!!

Google
Delicious Food! A little far but worth the drive! Clean and courteous atmosphere. Always satisfying meal no matter what we ordered! I recommend trying this restaurant! Be sure and get the $1 albondiga soup when ordering a combination plate! Yum 😋

This used to be my favorite place for Mexican food, but not anymore. My family and I, a party of 7, went there Friday, 7/11/25 for dinner around 8:15. We were served chips that were small little pieces and they were all over done, almost burnt. I asked for new chips that weren't burnt and overdone, and we were brought different chips, but they were the same, overdone. I ordered the chicken taquitos combo for dinner, and they were also overdone, too crispy and the chicken was very dry and hard. When the bill came later, everything on the bill was higher than the prices on the menu, over $5.00 for beverages, and the items we ordered were high than the listed price. We were also charged extra for a little cup of ranch dressing for my granddaughter's french fries, and were told because the item didn't come with it, it was extra. I was also surprised when we were charged for the to go boxes. There is a lot that needs to be improved upon in this restaurant. Just because we were some of the last customers of the day doesn't mean our food has to be overdone and dry.

Google
Azteca is an absolute gem tucked away in a small town, and it's definitely worth the short drive for those of us who don't live in the area. We've been making this trip for a few years now, and we always leave happy. The staff here is incredibly friendly and consistently provides great service. One of my favorites is their giant burrito, which I always customize by substituting the meat for their delicious carnitas, a decision you won't regret. Another standout is their Long Beach Island drink, which has become a favorite of ours.

Google
Great food, Friendly service! Initially we were uncertain when we pulled up since there is literally nothing around but this restaurant. everything tasted great and fresh.

Google
I'm glad we live near this place. I usually order by phone and they are always quick to answer, and it's ready in 15 minutes! We love the food, Just wish they had street tacos.

Yelp
I just love this place. Ive lived here for about 10 yrs now and love the staff and the food! Taco Tuesday is a must. My favorite for any other time is a Taco Charro. This is a fried flour tortilla in the shape of a Taco shell. I love the shredded beef, although you can choose whatever meat you prefer. It also comes with lettuce, tomato. Sour cream and guacamole. I order it ala carte. That's plenty for me, but you can order it as a combo with beans and rice. It's nice to have a great Mex food restaurant out here in the Acres-no having to drive into the city!!!

Yelp
The good: I like the food and the portions were reasonable for the money I liked the chips and salsa, this time the chips were too dark, but it was near closing The service was pleasant, though not especially attentive. They have a senior meal, which is plenty of food for a good price The bad: The ambience is "hole in the wall" and its located in middle of nowheresville They charge for to-go containers? The UNacceptable: Each time we have be we are charged more than the menu price, charged for add-ons that are part of items + 4% credit card surcharge ( which is illegal under all credit card companies rules - though ignored by many merchants ) The receipt does not reflect the prices on menu Been 3 times - I think last night's the last, which is sad because I liked the food.

Yelp
It's 2025 guys! If you're charging 5.00 for an Ice Tea you should use decent reverse osmosis water instead of chlorinated tap water from the sink food wasn't good either. Was recommended bye some friends now I know they have no taste, how does a Mexican restaurant make shitty tacos?? Tell me please 0 stars no recommendation from me! 65.00 for two meals

Yelp
I did not expect to find the best Mexican food I've EVER had right here in the Mojave desert. The authenticity of the food shines through with the service. Every time I've ordered, be it a pickup order or to sit down in the restaurant, I am met with promptness, politeness, and competence. Sitting down inside is a treat all on its own. The ambience is a mix of people all with smiles on their faces and it's always clean and inviting. Azteca is my new go to for Mexican food and I can't recommend them enough.

Yelp
I'm all about supporting a family owned business! However, the $$$ is way way too much! Great people! Great food! But, swamp cooler ain't cutting it! Too humid and hot inside.

James F.

Yelp
We live out here, so it's a no brainer. But it really is legit! Everything is dialed in, and this is easily my favorite spot around for fajitas!! (Side note, if you like toreados, these are also the best around!). Don't let the exterior fool you, it only adds to the experience.
google avatar

Kim H.

Yelp
Good food. Overpriced for Mexican food. There are a few places in town that I prefer, for both the food and the prices. But it's convenient for those who live in the acres.

Yelp
Wow! Such great food and service. We came to the poppy reserve and came here after building up some hunger from walking. We were greeted with a nice warm basket of tortilla chips and salsa...mm... I ordered the molcajete (my first time trying) it came as a hot plate with refried beans, cheese, and rice with a bowl of chicken, beef, and mushroom (stew?). It came with a side of a few tortillas as well! There was a choice between flour and corn. We also ordered a few tacos but I was too full and content. The service was amazing as well and I would love to try more dishes here.

Yelp
Updating to add, so I remember for next time I'm out here visiting my mother, that the green chile pork is SUPERB. One of the best implementations of this dish that I've had, and I should totally order that.

Colette S.

Yelp
Who would have know, but I'm here to share a great place to eat at. The food was fresh and perfect flavor. Service was grand family vibe flowing with everyone that working a true smile. I really love the wood walls like i'm up in the mountains cabin look cozier to set and eat in my house by far.. Also great tasting cocktails well blend one Sour Whiskey and one Tequila Sunrise loved it.. Next time I'm not missing out on dessert.

Michelle S.

Yelp
Very amazing Menudo did not expect you would only get this taste in Los Angeles. I would never thought I would've got this taste in Lancaster. Thanks you guys.

J. R. R.

Yelp
Every thing about this place is excellent. They are very accommodating in every way. If you ask they will make a batch of flour tortilla chips.

Yelp
We visited for dinner on Tuesday with a party of four and it was a nice experience. They have moved back to their old location, so basically the exterior looks like an old house covered with graffiti. We were seated in a large booth in the corner, and drink orders were taken. The margarita was a little weak. The chips and salsa can not be beat. They homemade chips are addictive and their habanero salsa adds a nice kick. We ordered a couple Carne Tampiquenas, Enchiladas, and another Carne dish. All were excellent and well presented. You can't beat a steak wrapped in bacon! The service started out a bit slow, but improved as the meal progressed. He was nice enough to help with splitting the check and multiple credit cards. Overall: Stop by for excellent Mexican food if you are in the area.

Yelp
Wow..! What a great new find. YES... it's a few miles out, but well worth the drive, to be sure. This recommendation came from friends, who know their stuff. And true to their words, it may not be a lot to look at from the street, but once inside it's a very welcoming and comfortable place. And extremely nice folks working there who make you feel right at home. So, you always have 'Chip Expectations' when visiting a new Mexican restaurant, and the bowl of chips (and two nice bowls of salsa) brought to our table were still warm. And they were so very good. I could have stuck with those alone and been a happy camper. They have an Abuelita hiding in the kitchen blessing each and every batch, me thinks. All four of us thought they were delicious. I had a carnitas burrito, mojado style (wet with sauce), with rice and beans. If the kitchen knows how to do a great pork roast for shredding it's a good sign, true..? Well, these folks do a GREAT job with their carnitas. No surprise, as the folks who run the place have a Dad and Uncle that started in the Santa Clarita area 30 years ago. Practice makes perfect, they say. But they've obviously not been merely practicing but perfecting to a higher degree. It was great. And my wife always says that a Chili Relleno is her indicator of a kitchens knowledge. She loved it, they nailed it, all great there. The son, who can be a bit pickier at times (life on the A scale...) had an awesome looking plate of simple but great nachos with beans and chicken. It looked like a picture from a cook book. In fact, when ALL of our dished came to the table... and we just sat and stared at them for a minute. This is beautifully presented food, truly. The daughter-unit had a quesadilla with rice and beans that were in miniature tostada shells, with a very nice guacamole and pico de gallo. Can I use the 'C' word here..? Her plate of food was cute. There. I said it. But seriously, in a world full of restaurants where it seems like some chefs just don't care, these folk care, and it shows. The manager also came by to say 'Hello' and check on us, and the wait staff were so sweet. We'll be back... get those shrimp ready, folks!

john m.

Yelp
Dined here twice. First time was bad, food was tasteless and service was really bad, only one customer and wait person seemed like she was busy doing everything but her job. I heard from a few people in Antelope Acres who thought this place was good so I thought, a couple of months later, that I'd give them another try. Second time was even worse, food seemed old, tasteless, and even looked bad. Taco Bell is far superior and for breakfast I've only been one place in the Antelope Valley that was worse and they went out of business. I would never recommend this location of Azteca to anyone.

Nahshon P.

Yelp
Ok, first off, the address on Yelp is wrong. I tried to update the location, but it wouldn't let me. I'll post a picture of the map. The service is awesome, and the young lady helping us is super sweet. The bathroom is small and needs air freshener. Full bar! Super plus! Seated immediately. Drinks prompt. Salsa and chips on point! So good. Very crisp. Great spice and flavor on salsa. We ordered chili con queso it was so stinking good! Enchiladas, yum! Chicken toquitas is big! Wish we knew it had peppers and tomatoes in it. Everything was really good. The margaritas are fantastic! I highly recommend you stop in here.

Yelp
We're back!!! It was wonderful news to hear that they had gone back to being a full-service restaurant and they're open for dinner again. Yay! There's a real vibe to the place that's hard to describe, but you can see that people love coming here to eat. Same wonderful salsa, still one of our favorites in the valley. Creatures of habit, we started with salad, extra blue cheese dressing. Mr. Picky ordered the usual Chili Relleno, and I ordered the shrimp banderillas (extra cheese on the rice and extra mushrooms) in order to see if that's still as delicious as it used to be. Very decadent. Great dish to share. Need to come back and refamiliarize with the menu, try the soups we used to like. Back soon.

Lois G.

Yelp
Love the food but prices have gotten out of hand. Some examples: I usually order an a la cart chili verde burrito. Menu says $13.75. Bill was $14.30. One diet coke $5.15. A to go cup $.31. (I think the server should let people know about these xtra little annoying charges) A to go doggy container $.52. Then if you pay with a credit card they add 4% to the bill not to mention the 18-20% tip. It's too bad 'cuz It used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant.
google avatar

Francesco S.

Yelp
Best Mexican food in the AV for sure and the price is very reasonable you need to try
google avatar

Donna C.

Yelp
Ordered wet burrito was really delicious , and service was fast.definitely will be coming back soon

Rye C.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying service is excellent. However, the food and drinks are super overpriced. $14 a Michelada drinks. Which btw the mix they use has a weird aftertaste. This kind of Mexican food is only good if you're not Mexican and you don't know how authentic Mexican food tastes. It caters to American taste buds. Food is mid and bland. Head over to the taco stand by Dollar General instead and grab yourself a Clamato, limes and Modelo Negras...you're welcome :)
google avatar

Yelp
One of my favorite spots for more better taste Mexican. Great service everytime, more than fair prices and excellent portions and flavors. The Carnitas and Carne asada burrito wet with the special house made hot chile are my go to's. Great spot to have a bite with friends on any night.

Avi M.

Yelp
Quality of food in this place has definitely gone downhill. Used to be really good, but not anymore. Salads are pre-prepared and left in the fridge, ready to be served. They charge you more than the menu says for both the drinks and the food. Margaritas do not have much alcohol in them. We went in there for dinner; not only were their employees hot, so were the customers. The thermostat was reading 79°, and the AC was off.

Gina H.

Yelp
I would love to give this place 5 stars, but really the past couple of visits has determined we won't be returning. We've been to other locations, which are much better. This one is just not to par. The food is good, but the service is absolutely terrible when the female staff is serving. When the owner's son and nephew(?) are serving, the service is stellar. This place is kind of out of the way, so I'm not driving out to see who the servers are to determine whether or not we'll eat there. We drove out tonight and immediately my son was like "nope!" We stayed, though because we had my parents with us. My dad is disabled and on chemo, so driving out there to just turn around and go somewhere else is not really an option. In retrospect, we should have just gone around the corner to the Iron Cactus, but my parents wanted mexican. Every single time the female staff is serving, they don't actually listen to what is being ordered or they're irritated. It takes my dad a little longer to ask for items, as chemo has affected his brain. The women will walk away and roll their eyes or have a frustrated look on their faces, or they just don't bring him what he has requested. We'll have to ask for certain items numerous times. This is not good business. I've come other times without my parents and the female staff will grab our cups to refill them and then bring us each a cup that is not ours. How can you not keep track of whose cup you picked up? Like I said, we've been to other locations that have much better service and we will return to those locations. I cannot recommend this one. Don't waste the drive.

Yelp
Theyre molcajete is bomb, best best flavor. It's spicy, the spice builds up but it's so good.Me and my mans share it and get a salad and we're straight.it comes with rice beans and tortillas. Also, the service is top notch, good people. And they know how to make a good drinks
google avatar

Linda R.

Yelp
we had our first meal there and were disappointed. They somehow lost our order and it took 50 minutes to receive our meals. it eventually came and the chile rellenos were especially good, but it would have been a nice gesture to give us even a small discount or throw in a dessert.

Andrew ..

Yelp
Food was horrible, service was horrible and the experience was the same. Food tasted on the verge of bad. Understand it's day after July 4th but have some respect for the people that try and support a business. Supporting this establishment for almost a decade and had similar experience awhile back and returned to try again and will not be back after this time.
google avatar

Erin M.

Yelp
Back for more. This time had the house sangria which we enjoyed. Not too sweet. Salsa was excellent again but the chips were a bit over cooked. I don't mind the extra dark chips but husband wasn't a fan. Ordered Molcajete again--excellent. Husband tried the carnitas burrito. The carnitas were very flavorful but a little on the salty side. Son ordered the pollo Azteca (wish I had taken a picture) and it was the star of the meal this time. Strips of chicken with sautéed onions peppers and carrots--seems weird but super good. It was over rice with cheese in a wonderful sauce. I've decided this place certainly has mastered a variety of delicious sauces. Son's gf ordered the beef enchilada & tamale. The shredded beef was very tasty. All in all a very good to excellent meal. Took off a star for the overcooked chips & bit too salty carnitas. Service was top notch. We'll definitely return

Yelp
On our route home from a drive to Lake Hughes we decided to look for a place to eat. Based off of proximity and yelp reviews we choose Azteca Mexican restaurant. I'm glad we did. Its a nice suprise, somewhat tucked away. As soon as we got there the service was emaculate. The young ladies were sweet and attentive. And sadly our kids were really cold so we took our food to go. Although the decision was made abruptly Karen(our server) was sweet, understanding and accommodating. Great service is always something I find satisfying and this joint delivered far beyond my expectations. Once we were able to eat the food we were happy that not only was the service on point but so was the food. We ordered a burrito plate, soups(albondiga and azteca), and 2 tamales of beef. All of which was delicious. We were all pleased. Definitely would recommend. P.s I only took a pic of my plate. Yumm!

Briana B.

Yelp
I have lived in the acres for years and have been eating at Azteca and enjoying it the entire time. Tonight I got the enchilada suizas and brought it home, where I discovered the chicken was raw. I called to let them know and they asked me to bring it in, so I did. I did not ask for a replacement or a refund. When I got there they tried to tell me that this was onion. I didn't know onion was squishy and had fat. It's RAW chicken. They even tried to tell me that the enchiladas can be "more rare". Chicken can't be "rare". I'll never be back because this is disgusting

Yelp
Hands down the best Mexican food in town!!!!!!!!!!! . Service is Phenomenal , quality of the food, is great .. And you just feel good every time you enter and leave the restaurant. Thank you Azteca for being my #1 with quality cleanliness and just a good hometown feeling
google avatar

Lydia L.

Yelp
I can tell a lot about a restaurant just from the salsa and chips they serve. So, I knew I was going to thoroughly enjoy my meal. The food is delicious and the service is great. I'm happy a friend of mine recommended the place, and I've continued this trend by sharing this hidden gem with other friends and family. We've even celebrated a couple birthdays here too! Just try it, I promise you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
The best Mexican food in town . I highly recommend, service is A+ and drinks are perfect.
google avatar

Sharay D.

Yelp
Came in for dinner and was immediately greeted by a friendly hostess. As soon as we sat down our drinks were taken and chips and salsa were given. The chips were good...could use alittle more salt but still good, not greasy. The salsa was good. Not hot but still flavorful. Their blended watermelon margarita was so good. Not strong just good. Ordered the whole fried red snapper with rice. My fish needed salt and hot sauce on it. It was hot and fresh. You definitely get your moneys worth. I will definitely come back especially since its in my neighborhood now.
google avatar

Andy M.

Yelp
Molcajete is always the best for me. Crunchy beef tacos are how they should be! Potato tacos are not on the menu but they will make them for you, great authentic place to eat when you miss home cooking.

Ripsime T.

Yelp
We had lunch here with our family and we all loved it! Family owned business and you can feel the warmth by their service. Excellent food and service. Will definitely go back!

Yelp
Oh my food heavens!! A delicious oasis!! I LOVE the portions the cold beer and the super-friendly staff. I just moved to the area and have quickly become a regular. Prices are great too!!!

Sonia A.

Yelp
Ok so I loved this place, food taste like how I grew up eating Mexican food. after finally heating up yesterday's to go dinner, I ended up biting into a rock in the refried beans! But this is the second time this has happened to us! We stayed away for sometime :( luckily no one broke a tooth. But unfortunately two times now; I will not be returning. Azteca, Please rinse and strain your beans properly.

Yelp
Yummy Food & Tasty Margaritas The Enchiladas Suizas are BOmB !! Husband had Coctel De Cameron ... Delicious Highly recommend... We will be back !!!

Joseph B.

Yelp
Great service and food. Been there a dozen times and never a complaint, unlike Iron Cactus. Don't waste your money and come here. You won't be disappointed
google avatar

Yelp
Let me start by saying they have moved not to far away from their original location. I have not been here in a while and just found out. The new place is perfect. It's a little bigger and their bar has more than enough alcohol. They can make almost any drink you desire. I have not tried their alcohol drinks yet but some look very yummy. The staff is so friendly and ready to serve you. We had the most awesome waitress ever. My daughter asked our waitress if they had frog legs, it was a joke. She laughed and said no but she will make sure next time they will have them for her. BTW it was all a joke they really don't serve frog legs. My daughter was just being silly. We had a great laugh. Food as always very delicious. We have never had a bad meal at this restaurant. For anyone who has not been here PLEASE go and experience this place for yourself. I highly recommend this place for great Mexican food. To management I hope you recognized our waitress for her great sense of humor and great customer service. I did not get her name but I'm sure you will ask around about the frog legs. She is awesome we love her!!!!! She deserves a BIG raise.

Kristyn R.

Yelp
My husband and I went on a Friday for dinner around 6pm. No wait and we were seated and brought drinks right away. I ordered the Enchilada and Chili Relleno, my husband had the Camarones A La Diabla which were good, only 6 shrimps though for the meal. Food was delicious and the staff was very nice. Definitely will visit again.

LisaMarie A.

Yelp
The food was alright not enough flavor but edible. My salsa had little pieces of black hair in it and the salsa doesn't taste like the salsa for some chips. The service was really slow. And I wouldn't go back again sorry.

Marie W.

Yelp
The tacos and service were great! Our favorite Mexican restaurant. It is a bit far from us but worth the drive.
google avatar

Ashley T.

Yelp
First time here!! It was delicious!! It was a busy Sunday afternoon and they had a huge party and quite a few other tables yet they stayed on top of taking care of us. The busser Joey is the best I've ever seen. He didn't stop moving, multitasked like a champ and with a positive attitude. Our server Jose was really sweet, polite and helpful even as busy as he was he still made sure we were happy. The food was so GOOD!! LOVED the chicken tortilla soup and the chicken tamale. The rice was warm and fresh. I loved how it had corn, peas and carrots inside of it with some sauce on top. M We definitely will be back
