Fantastic nachos and chiles rellenos- the coconut margarita was not as great as I hoped from the reviews, but palatable. The “basic” dinner salad was actually phenomenal.

Very cool restaurant with delicious food and excellent service! The Elvis decor is so fun! Try the green salsa! Delicious 😋

I found this place a few years back by chance and honestly from the outside you cannot tell what’s hidden inside…Elvis everything! I love the room and best of all Karaoke! I have eaten a few times in the past and was not a huge fan of the food so I ate next door at Louis before going over to karaoke. Chips and salsa were not bad. Staff was fairly friendly. The karaoke crowd and host were so friendly. I definitely recommend coming to sing a tune or two or just enjoy the atmosphere.

I love this place. Like most people, I stumbled across this gem, accidentally. I've been coming here since the early 2000s. The thing w reviews is, you really have to try it and make your own decisions. Everyone has an opinion and everyone has bad days. With that being said, the food is more authentic, than modern. Don't expect all those bells and whistles. Its mexican food, plain and simple. The atmosphere is more than worth it, but what do I know?

Google
Azteca on Main Street in Garden Grove is the spot—I’ve been coming here since high school! The food is consistently amazing, and the garlic tacos are next-level delicious. The whole place has a super fun Elvis theme, with memorabilia covering the walls and even the ceiling. It’s got great vibes, great food, and a ton of character. Definitely worth checking out!

Christopher Morton

Google
Any Elvis fan will love this restaurant. Every inch of the walls and ceiling is covered in memorabilia and posters. The food is great right down to the rice and beans. Today we had the taco and tamale combination and the carnitas dinner plate. Be sure to try the coconut blended margaritas! Karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights gets crazy. This was not my first visit and will not be my last.

Google
Amazing restaurant! Food is always high quality and delicious, went for date night but great for any occasion or group or quick office lunch solo. Everything is Elvis themed too. Recommend for all 🤙

Yelp
This has to be one of the weirdest and best Mexican restaurants I've ever been to. Firstly, they have old school paper menus. Their prices are truly amazing and super affordable. The portions are incredibly huge. Why is this place weird? Well it's basically an Elvis museum inside a Mexican restaurant. Legit so much Elvis. If you are looking for a fun place to have Mexican food, I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
We stood outside and momentarily we got greeted inside by our hispanic male waiter :3 Service was ON & OFF for me! I mean 0nly 1 thing I had a probl3m with is h0w our waiter was rushin' our orders a lil for example: I was g0nna order a second dish but he tri3d going away, i dunno he seemed to rush our orders which was a lil b0therin' Food was alright. It just tasted like some other mexician drive thrus, the food didnt really wow me sadly and the food just looked a little bland this was basically my breakfast and I was alright with it L0L XD Another thing. They didnt bring one of our cousins order so they got left with nothing. It was a chocolate mousse cake which was quite major and we payed for it still :'C and lastly the AMBIANCE!! The ambiance has great vibes!! I mean its a REALLY L0UD in there but the decorations & stuff is the best thing!! Another thing is that we heard glass shatter on the floor as soon as we were gonna exit the place. I don't know wat that was abt Overall this mexician restaurant was quite CHA0S but the decorations sure are nice. I just feel as if this place didn't care to much abt the customers experience, would choose other places over this one sadly. But if you are just looking for elvis everything decora & memorial this is the place to go!! Sorry!! But at least u will be my 1st 2 Star review i just didnt find the food & service good but its a nice elvis museum basically!!!! :[

Yelp
Not sure what I was expecting when I entered this place, but it wasn't this! From the outside this place looks what you would think a Mexican place should look like. An adobe motif with an old So Cal feel. But the moment you walk in you are greeted by... A bandito? Some Mexican character? I don't know... Maybe an anthropomorphic chili ( Jose jalapeno on a stick)?. No you are greeted by a life size statue of Elvis! And that's just the start, the whole restaurant is covered wall to ceiling with Elvis posters and memorabilia, except for one corner that seems to be dedicated to Dean Martin. So...odd. but fun. The food was good, very Mexican style Mexican food ( I prefer American style Mexican food, but that's just me.) The staff was very nice and accommodating, ( although they did make a mistake with one order, they fixed it, but it took a while. ) My biggest beef was with the restroom. The men's room is right off the main dining room and the door was never closed so as you walk by to the ladies room you see right into the men's. And the urinals are those waterless kind. Which never work right always smell of disinfectant and in this case drained really show so there were always orange pills at the bottom of the basin. The sink area was a mess with an overflowing trash can, and the floor was all wet. But other than that my wife and her friend enjoyed the food, and the price was reasonable but for me, next time, I'll go somewhere else.

Yelp
My brother lives just down the street from this cute little downtown area. His favorite of the downtown restaurants is Azteca. Jesse often waits outside to invite you in as he was doing when we visited. The place is really fun with an Elvis theme. I started with the abondigas soup which was good. Next, I ordered a carnitas taco and a chicken taco. Their tacos are quite large and delicious. My brother got the chimichanga (dry) with a dollop of both guac & sour cream. It's my brothers favorite. I will look forward to returning next time I visit my brother.

Yelp
A family friend recommended this place to us so we decided to try it. The restaurant was really nice and clean. It had so many Elvis decorations and posters. They had the posters all over the walls and even on the ceiling. I kind of liked the Elvis theme. As for food, we got free tortilla chips with salsa, as all Mexican places do. The chips were good but the salsa was not as fresh as other places. It kind of tasted like it was store bought. I got the steak fajitas. They gave me 2 big flour tortillas, lots of steak with veggies, refried beans, and Mexican rice. It was $19.95 and it was definitely worth the price. I thought it was delicious! The steak was so savory and juicy. The veggies paired really well with everything and I liked how everything didn't make me too full. Loved it! The service was great! The waiters were nice and the food came out really fast. I recommend the place if you're in the area. It's delicious! If you're not as hungry, don't get the tacos because they have a lot of filling inside. This is a really good place and the ratings should be higher!!

Yelp
Hard shell garlic chicken taco is so good. Been coming there for years and always such a friendly and helpful service. Ask for extra garlic sauce.
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
The food is above average and my wife really lives it's refried beans. This seems to be a place for the locals as we saw family gatherings as well. . The ambience reminds one of Hussong 's Cantina in Ensenada. The service is competent and the price very reasonable. The back entry from the parking lot looks abandoned since the front entry is at Main Street . But unless you need exercise you should enter via there.
google avatar

Ken S.

Yelp
The Elvis ambience has diminished quite a bit since it's heyday 10 years ago, but the food is still exceptional, the drinks are not wanting for alcohol that's for sure! Enjoyed a nice Friday evening there prior to the car show out on Main Street, and enjoyed The enchiladas and chips the tacos and the Carnitas plate. The tamales were to die for! For you seniors out there, the food is not overly spiced and reasonably priced! HIGHLY recommend to All! To quote the governorator: I'll be baaack!! Many thanks to Alfonso for the super fast service and friendly attitude!

Yelp
I had eaten here a few times over 20 years ago. I didn't remember if I liked it or not. Every time I revisit a restaurant I haven't been to in over 10 yrs, I'm disappointed. I realize, there is a reason I stopped going! The great; the price!!! Very affordable which I really appreciate. The service was quick. The good; the beans were cheesy and yummy. The salsa is mild which I like and need for heartburn prevention. The shredded beef was juicy. The tacos are very large. If you love Elvis this is your heaven. The bad; the neighborhood has a slightly abandoned and rundown vibe. The interior is also dingy. The door handle was stolen! The clientele was a little worse for wear too. Overall, the food wasn't bad. But nothing was memorable or worth returning for.

Yelp
Service excellent! Chile verde excellent. Tacos a bit over cooked. Drinks very good . Price was respectable.

Yelp
Oh my sainted stars, Azteca. For some people, it will be an out-of-fashion hole in the wall with bad food and chintzy decorations. For some people, it will be a time portal into a grand American past that never really existed. My Mexican girlfriend informed me, quite pointedly, that the so-called Mexican food was not even remotely Mexican. And it's not. The food is a notch below El Torito. They managed to burn my cheeseburger. How can you burn a cheeseburger? But let's also be clear. Azteca does not give a flying rat's ass about my review, or your review, or anyone's review, because the insanely fantastically bizarrely brilliant collection of Elvis memorabilia eclipses every other consideration about the place. On every wall and ceiling surface, is another movie poster or autographed photo or movie clip or other kitsch reminding you of the one and only king of rock and roll. Yep. It's all Elvis, all the way down. It's utterly fake Mexican food. It is Azteca. When your Yelp writer was younger and thinner, he would gather here with actors and writers and artists, and we would scheme about overthrowing the world. In that spirit, this is still a great place for ironic Gen Z types without a lot of money, to scheme about overthrowing the world. Although I'm giving this place three stars, this place actually deserves one star or eleventy-seven stars, as you see fit. Azteca is untouchable and it is forever.

Yelp
Great, traditional Mexican food in a quirky, Elvis themed restaurant. I was here on a Sunday for a birthday party and was pleasantly surprised by the food and ambience. I had hard shell chicken tacos and the guy next to me had chile verde. We both loved our food. Will come back again to try the chile verde. Reasonably priced. Parking can be a challenge if there's other events going on in the area.

Yelp
Edgar is an amazing server and very prompt and attentive... He made my first experience here seem like I was at home, comfortable and friendly vibes all around. Thank you Edgar for the wonderful experience...

Yelp
Azteca has a very unique environment of amazing history of Elvis and music. The food is the best, service no better, with a price that is something you won't believe

Yelp
This is one of the favorite spots in this city! From the Elvis Nostalgia to the karaoke nights, this Main Street restaurant and bar has got it going on. Since the 90's until now I have been coming here with friends and family. The garlic tacos are always great! Gets busy quickly especially on weekends. Come in grab a table, a bite and a drink. Enjoy all the nostalgia this place has got to offer!
google avatar

Yelp
I come here almost every weekend with my dad and sisters. We always sit outside, enjoy the small farmers market and the live music. It's the perfect Sunday vibe. Service/Ambiance: I can't say much for the decor inside since we never sit inside but it's Elvis themed. It's outdated but it seems clean. Service is always on point. Our server is always very friendly and has a smile on his face. Food Consensus: We always get the azteca steak, the huevos rancheros, the butterfly shrimp. I don't think this place was 100% authentic Mexican food but I do like it. My favorites are the azteca steak and the huevos rancheros. They always hit, especially with a coffee drink from phin smith. The azteca steak has a generous portion of meat. The meat paired with the grilled jalopeno, rice, and refried beans is delicious. The huveros rancheros has great flavor, I love this dish. The portion of pork is inconsistent but it's okay. My sister is pescatarian so she always orders the butterfly shrimp. I think this dish is ok. Overall, I would recommend having a nice lunch outdoor here on the weekends. It's the best!

Yelp
First time here in some years, but it has certainly stood the test of time. Food is exactly as I remember. If you're a fan of a good sit down style of Mexican (ala DJ's) then you will not be let down. The food is proper, the service is on point, and it's a fun Elvis themed atmosphere; what more are you looking for? :)

Yelp
If you're in town to see a show at the Garden Amp, Azteca is a great spot to pregame it. The cocktails are good here and so inexpensive! 5 stars for the Elvis Pink Cadillac margarita and the Vodkucumber. 4 stars for the service because everyone was attentive and efficient (though a tad rushed) on a busy Friday evening. Our entrees were decent, but it is definitely not the best Mexican food I've had. We ordered the chile verde and taquitos plates. Nothing was spicy and could have used a little more seasoning. I would return again next time I'm visiting for a show. The Elvis vibe was cool, and I'd like to try sitting in the old school saloon.

Yelp
Karaoke on Saturdays. Friendly waiters. The chicken wings are great. Loved the variety of margaritas. Lots of Elvis memorabilia. We even got a mini tribute show when a Elvis impersonator did karaoke! So much fun@

Mo K.

Yelp
Great place for Mexican food. Waiters are fabulous & the decor is 100% Elvis. Cadillac margaritas are the best in town,
google avatar

Norma L.

Yelp
First time here, my sister is a big Elvis fan. She was excited to see all the Elvis memorabilia. I highly recommend the Chile verde plate, albondigas, and the Cadillac Margarita. We had no idea the car show was there on Main. Really great experience

Mary C.

Yelp
Deliscious food with excellent service. It's such a great restaurant located on Garden Groves Main Street. Tons of parking out back and just across the street.
google avatar

Kayla Y.

Yelp
Absolutely a hidden gem! When bar hopping on Main street, I'd never expect to end up here. However, because the other bars were jammed packed my friends and I wandered here and it has been our go-to all the time now! They have delicious food and cheap drinks at the bar. Cute little old-town feel to it
google avatar

Roni V.

Yelp
Absolutely loved it here! We had karaoke in mind for the night, and after hitting up two other locations and failing, we decided to just grab food and drinks at this location. Without looking this place up, we unexpectedly and happily walked into the Saturated karaoke night at this awesome Elvis themed restaurant. The ambiance was relaxed, and everyone inside seemed to be having a good time. The staff was patient and friendly. The manager/owner was attentive and stopped by to greet us and the rest of the patrons at most tables. But BEST OF ALL, there is ELVIS memorabilia everywhere! There's so much to see in any direction you turn, including other celebrities like Dean Martin, etc. We only ordered drinks and appetizer taquitos, which were pretty good. We will definitely be returning to try other menu items and for more karaoke. Definitely worth a visit if you're an ELVIS fan! Plus, they have an annual Elvis celebration which is around the beginning of October (which I think they said used to be in May). P.S. if you just want to grab drinks, they do have a separate bar area. There are separate male/female bathrooms that have a unique main sliding door each, but inside are individual stalls with regular doors. There's plenty of street parking and many other cool businesses in the area.

Yelp
If you live Elvis like I do, it is awesome. I mean Elvis everywhere! The food was great.b

Liliana C.

Yelp
I decided to give this place a try. It's not "authentic" Mexican Food but it's ok. I had the garlic tacos and the garlic is very overpowering. Definitely a place to visit for Elvis Presley fanatics and they have a lot of cool posters all around the establishment. The staff were all kind and welcoming. The food is made to order and very hot when it comes out. Definitely a cool place to check out.

Bryan B.

Yelp
Food was all premade, pretty much inedible. Chicken looked like it came out of a can, was cold inside the taco. Rice was room temperature and I was not comfortable eating it, bacteria and all. Pretty sure the beans came out of a can, but they were hot and tasty so the only thing I ate. The ambiance is kitschy, tacky for some but I liked it. It reminded me of old Vegas. Wine was good.
google avatar

Joseph M.

Yelp
Cool spot to hang after a show at the Garden Amphitheater, which is just a short walk away. The drinks were good, and the service was friendly. Definitely a great place to chill for a bit after catching a concert. Would recommend!

Theresa H.

Yelp
My husband & I discovered this place when we were here for a concert that was happening at the local outdoor theater. The albondigas soup made us come back on multiple occasions. So, let me start by praising their soup, then I will get to the 'ugliness' of my review. The broth is excellent, the veggies are cut to bite sized pieces, and the meatballs are great! Our last visits order included this soups plus two ala Carter orders with our soups being the star of our meal. When done, I and my husband had left of 4 meatballs, collectively, in our bowls. This next event blew my mind as far as it would go, when our waiter, after clearing our bowls on to the pass bar, removed the meatballs and put them into a container, placed a lid on it, and put those, passed over meatballs, into the fridge, apparently for another, unsuspecting soup eater! I wish I hadn't seen this, but glad I did!
google avatar

Jaysen B.

Yelp
Food is horrible Burrito sucks Doesn't not include rice Doesn't not include beans Nothing inside except meat. They gave me the thinnest tortilla. Lalo also wanted to charge me $2 extra for salsa. I asked him and told him that you shii look old tell customer that it doesn't include rice and beans, and he rudely responded "you should read the menu" stupido . I will not recommend this to a friend. Poor service and food is horrible
google avatar

James C.

Yelp
Place is horrible Authentic Mexican? What a joke Could be so much better. Great location Could me so so much better

Yelp
Food is excellent best tacos I've had from anywhere. This is my go to spot from now on. Get the Vodka Cucumber mixed drink.

Yelp
So my Mom has been begging me to take her to Azteca for a few months now after seeing the add pop up on her social media. Fast forward to today, we finally went, and OMG, if you are a lover of Mexican food and Elvis, run to Azteca. When you first enter the restaurant, you are greeted with a giant Elvis statue, and more Elvis memorabilia that one could ever imagine. It was so cool to see so much stuff of the King. The amount of memorabilia is amazing. As for the food...DELISH! I had green chili chicken enchiladas (pictured), my Mom, and husband had fajitas, and my Dad had an enchilada tamale combination plate. Everything was so tasty. Our late lunch/ early dinner came out hot, and was made with the freshest ingredients. Ooooh...the chips and salsa are yummy too! We had so much fun at Azteca, and already looking forward to our next visit.
google avatar

Christine L.

Yelp
Sergio is the best!!! What an amazing place. I could look at the King memorabilia for hours here! So cool! Great ambience. Also the bar art is stunning!

Yelp
I have never once ever given a 5 star to any business, restaurant or establishment without actually patronizing the business in person! Let me explain, I didn't actually come here to eat. I had a get together with a few people and someone decided to get us all Mexican food. This person ordered us food, didn't ask what we wanted to eat, the ball was in their court. This friend of ours offered us lunch, would not accept money from me or anyone else in my group. But, this person ordered for us. When the food arrived, he simply gave me my box of take out food. Being the polite person I am, I thanked him and opened the box. It was what I thought were beans and rice with a quesadilla. What it actually was was Chile Colorado with a flour tortilla on top. Presentation was great and quite honestly, I have only had Chile Colorado once in my entire life. As soon as I dug in, I couldn't believe how delicious the food was! The rice was perfect and had that nice texture I really like. The beans were made just perfect, authentic and made just right. Just thinking about it makes me hungry again. When he told me the name of the place and that I being an Elvis person would be impressed if I went in person. So here I am looking up Azteca up on Yelp. I imagine dining here is such an amazing experience, it's a place I marked as another to do list. I plan on coming soon, I love my Mexican food but an Elvis themed one is even better. Your food was amazing and I look forward to having it once again but this time inside the restaurant. Thank you for making my day!

Yelp
We were on the hunt for an old school Mexican restaurant and what a pleasant surprise when I found, a Elvis themed Mexican restaurant just a few minutes from our hotel. The pictures on Yelp were helpful but they truly do not capture how much Elvis there is at Azteca. Love the old town area Azteca is located in. It's a perfect fit for this place. The Elvis décor is literally "to the windows to the wall" (and up the ceiling). Azteca is toeing the line of chaos but to me, just stops short and keeps things manageable. After I placed my order I took my time to walk around the restaurant and through the bar. I'm confident even a few laps around the place, I wouldn't have seen all of the Elvis memorabilia. Food: good! Plenty of stand options to satisfy anyone's need for Mexican food. The 1 item tried that was quite unique was the beef taco with garlic. Never heard of such a thing so I went for it. If you love garlic, this might be for you. I did like it because it was different but I'm not sure I'd order it again. Overall, I definitely would return. Friendly service with a unique vibe.

Ann K.

Yelp
Calling all garlic lovers - This place is very unsuspecting from the outside, but we always come back here for the GARLIC TACOS! Tacos are piled high with fillings, and their garlic sauce takes anything you order to the next level. Service is always great, food always comes out quickly. Their collection of Elvis memorabilia is a nice touch too.
google avatar

Yelp
We got here and it was pretty dead, it was just after lunch before dinner, before all the rush, it was better quiet. Had a lot of Elvis theme. Was a cool environment, the food was great as well, good service all around, wasn't too expensive either!
google avatar

Jocelyne A.

Yelp
They offer student discounts! That's nice. Churros fresh and sauces are definitely a plus. Fast and friendly service. Cute place to study. Locally owned.

Mike A.

Yelp
Good food, excellent service, and nice atmosphere. Great margaritas and reasonable prices.
google avatar

Mariah E.

Yelp
Love this place! My grandfather always brought us here for any occasion and I've never had a bad experience! They have amazing customer service! Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Emmanuel A.

Yelp
The waiter came to me and asked what I wanted and I said I'll get taquitos and he said no what do you want to drink and I said I'll get a water and and a beer. He came back moments later with my beer but no water and took off quickly. Never came back to take my order for food but everyone else in my party ordered food. Maybe I missed something but this was just horrible service.
google avatar

Char D.

Yelp
Food, service and margaritas are excellent. We enjoy sitting out on the patio for lunch or dinner before a concert at the Garden Amp.
google avatar

Vince R.

Yelp
I've eaten the food here...not great but the bar is pretty cool. Love the Elvis themed decor. Pretty impressive museum type pieces in here all about the king in his heyday! The bartenders are friendly and attentive and the crowd is eclectic and local. If you've not been here it's a hidden gem.
google avatar

Tommy W.

Yelp
We go here several times a year cause my parents love it and we are close. Great atmosphere. Good food. Today was my parent's wedding anniversary of 44 years, and Ruben our waiter picked up the check for us to surprise us, which was incredibly nice. And this random couple bought the 3 of us slices of this really yummy cake to celebrate their anniversary. Was a very nice anniversary for them. They surely feel the love. Thank you Ruben! You rock!

A A.

Yelp
So good and great atmosphere. Loved the Elvis decor. Bar was private and very entertaining.

Yelp
The nacho plate is my go to every time. Whether I'm sitting in the dining room or bar I'm having those nachos!

Yelp
Always a good time, new and drinks at Azteca. I had the 1/2 nachos today... ate it too fast to take a picture lol vibe is great and the owner/workers are fantastic!!!! Always!!!
