Aztlan Mexican Grill

This place is a small local restaurant. The food had reasonable prices and plenty of seats! I planned to only eat half my pollo torta (chicken sandwich) at the restaurant, but I ended up enjoying the entire torta! It was seasoned just right and the green spicy sauce made the taste even better. They also provide some homemade tortilla chips. The quesadilla was also super flavorful. Very kind, attentive service too. Lots of people seem to order to-go and come pick up locally. Will be back for more!

Aztlan Mexican Grill is a hidden gem! Hands down, they have the best tacos I’ve ever had. My husband and I ordered Asada tacos, and we tried them on both flour and corn tortillas. Both were out of this world, but the flour tortillas literally melted in your mouth, while the corn tortillas were so fresh, you could taste the authenticity in every bite. The rice and beans were homemade perfection—exactly how comfort food should taste. The service? Absolutely top-notch. The staff made us feel like family, and they were so warm and attentive from start to finish. We also couldn’t get enough of the chips and salsa—fresh, flavorful, and just the right amount of spice. With great prices and portions, Aztlan Mexican Grill has officially become our go-to spot for Mexican food. Next time, I’m definitely trying the fajitas—I can’t wait! This family-owned restaurant delivers consistent quality and flavors that keep you coming back for more. A true neighborhood treasure! Highly recommend!

Excellent super quesadillas and very friendly staff. I only wish that they were open a bit earlier for lunch, because the flavors here are great! I'm always pleased with the meals that I have here. Aztlan definitely deserves more attention. Recommended!

Humble but delicious. I recommend the shrimp tacos and cactus quesadilla. It’s crazy how good the food is. The employee who took our order was tremendously patient and charming. We have finally found our place in the neighborhood. We cannot wait to go back!

We are from Texas, here for baseball games. Absolutely loving Chicago. This place checks all the boxes. Locally owned. Dad cooking, mom on garnish (and im sure way more) , daughter on register. Kid in the back watching YouTube... we Absolutely loved everything... everything was great and we are 2.5 people that order over $120... go support this awesome family and eat some amazing food!

I ordered a beef burrito and it was very tasty. Lightly charred steak that was still juicy tender. Fresh ingredients, good balance of flavors. Atmosphere is no frills, but clean. We came on Labor Day, when most of our usual places were closed so it gave us a reason to try something new. We were happy to add another great place to our list. The steak Fajita Plate was very good, chips and salsa were delicious and fresh. Service was quick and efficient.

So I am embarrassed to admit that after 5 years living in Albany Park this was my first time this afternoon. Absolutely delicious. The best Mexican food in the hood! Will never order from anywhere else. I got chicken quesadillas, my husband got shrimp and chicken tacos, plus a couple of more things. So good! We will be back, and back, and back! Thank you!

I love this place. I have only ever order delivery online but finally got the chance to eat in. It’s a small and casual place where you order at the counter. The woman taking orders as well as the chef were so friendly. We got the asada burrito which is my go to when I have ordered online and it still does not disappoint. It’s actually my favorite burrito in Chicago. The meat is perfectly charred and flavorful. The provided sauces are also amazing. And the horchata is excellent. Highly recommend! Go support these folks.

Aztlan has amazing service and even more amazing tacos. You won't find better truthfully. Ambiance is exactly what one would hope for when it comes to great tacos, at least in my opinion.

Yesssssss! My go to meat is asada- my husband ordered a chicken burrito one day and it blew my mind. So tasty! It's grilled chicken and tender and so delicious! I also love that they have mushroom quesadillas and squash blossom quesadillas. Pro tip- get the queso and chips! This is definitely our go burrito place in the neighborhood- be a doll and order through their website rather than third party apps

Our go to taco spot. AMAZING! I LOVE the Pescado tacos on flour tortillas. They are consistently great and have never messed up an order. The steak burrito is also fantastic!!

This place is LEGIT. Seriously some of the best Mexican food in Chicago. Everything is made fresh to order by the kindest people ever. The quesadillas in particular are very special. You can get them with gigantic handmade corn tortillas that melt in your mouth. Also, they offer some really substantial vegetarian options, which you don't see everywhere. Can't recommend it enough!

The burrito I ordered was all meat and only meat. When you order they don't say anything. I expect other things in there like sour cream or normal stuff lettuce beans whatever I know it's they also said one of them no beans which is fine but it's a burrito. The service was fine I picked up my food so can't come in our ambience

As a food critique I suggest everyone should try this amazing place. Amazing costumer service! Very nice staff, they are very friendly. You can tell the food is made with love. The ambiance is very welcoming! If your looking for a good Mexican restaurant I highly recommend!

There are a lot of delicious restaurants (especially Mexican restaurants) in Albany Park. Aztlan has emerged the favorite. All of their ingredients taste very fresh and homemade (and if they aren't, I am happy to be fooled). My favorite items are the shrimp tacos, the guacamole, and really any of the burritos and quesadillas. You can order from Aztlan by going to their website to avoid giving away fees to the delivery companies, and of course, it is usually much cheaper to purchase directly from the restaurant.

I've been living in Albany Park for two years now and this place is, far and away, the best Mexican food I've had out here. The meat here has a flavor you can only get with high heat and a proper sear. Everything I've had - chorizo, pollo, asada, pastor, has been spectacular. The shrimp tacos will knock your socks off. The staff are extremely nice and friendly, service is speedy, and there's the added bonus of getting a slight discount when you pay with cash. If you eat here, please order directly through their website (or in person) instead of third party apps. Aztlan is a freaking dream and deserves all the support!

They care so much about their food and service that one of the chefs came out to ask me if I wanted the cabbage on the side or in my quesadilla. That small touch captures this place--family owned, mom and dad kitchen vibes, food made with love. Would give 6 stars if I could.

This place is phenomenal. The food is so good and comes out so quick, the prices are more than fair, and the service is beyond excellent. I got the veggie burrito and it came out in less than 10 minutes, with a free basket of chips and salsa as well. The staff is so friendly and takes such great care of their customers. 10/10!

A few months ago, some friends and I came here as the first destination of a birthday taco crawl in Albany Park (Pilsen, Logan Square, or West Town were too obvious). We unanimously decided Aztlan was the best of the pack. Joints like Big Star and L'Patron get the lion's share of attention but Aztlan is better than them. It doesn't boast a big menu, but it doesn't need to--not when it serves lovely tacos with real corn tortillas that aren't dripping with grease and oil, freshly made chips, and salsas I haven't tasted anywhere else (The red salsa is magical!). I came here today and demolished five tacos by myself. The shrimp, in particular, is heavenly, grilled and seasoned to perfection. The staff is super nice, too. Aztlan is one of the best taco joints in the city.

Craved tacos and found this place on grubhub. Ordered asada, Alambre, cesina, and chorizo. They were ok. The tortilla and meat were dry. The flavors were there. Maybe they better fresh walk in not thru delivery

I used to go to "La pasadita" because I assumed those were the best tacos in town and Oh myyyy was I wrong this little hidden gem stole my heart not only is very clean but the food has a traditional taste. My favorite are the tacos and the burritos!!! The Orchata is a most. Give this place a try you won't be disappointed !!!!

Everything I've tried has been amazing and fast! I've had takeout and delivery, always ready early. Great portions for the price. My favorite are their quesadillas and pambazos.

Ordered lunch delivery again. They have very good tacos and the guacamole is decent. Their cheese dip mixed with jalapenos and chorizo was really good, as well as the chips that go along with it. Definitely a keeper !!!!

After many many uber eats and grub hub I have to come back and give this place another 5 stars. I usually order the same thing, shrimp tacos, steak tacos & their flor de calabaza quesdillas with grilled onion and jalapenos. Every time they do not disappoint. The food arrives perfectly warm since they pack everything so diligently. The food has great flavor and the tacos have PLENTY of filling every single time. I would highly recommend this place to dine in and delivery!!

I thought I had have reviewed Aztlan. They consistently pump out amazing food. It's my wife favorite as they have shrimp tacos. Very friendly and clean. We love having them in the neighborhood.

I've been coming here since last summer and forgot to review. Everything is great here. Friendly staff, quick service, tasty food. The al pastor is some of the best in the area, certainly. Asada and chorizo are very tasty too. Prices are good and i'll keep coming back. It's a close option to Templestowe Pub and Montrose Saloon, BYO tacos!

Ok....I have been putting this review off for a couple of reasons...#1 I was waiting to confirm consistency and #2 I wanted it to be our little secret. This place gets it right....I've been eating Mexican food for over 20 years in Chicago and they have now been dubbed the best, well by me, and trust me I'm picky...Those who know, there's a place on Ashland that reigned supreme for me, but these people have outdone them...the steak burrito, incredible, tacos great and even the quesadilla...the jumbo flour with chorizo is a heart stopper, but delicious....Aztlan, thank you for your amazing food you have provided ( to myself and my wife) and really think you are the unsung hero of Mexican cuisine in Chicago.

I love this place. Me and my husband live across the street and were so happy when this place opened up. Because the place before kept letting us down and one day he went to try it out and he fell in love with their al pastor tacos. One day I was out for a run and decided to stop on my way back to get us food. And saw that they have super nachos and omg you get your money's worth. They are so good. Their salsas are on point. We save the left over ones so we can use on our food lol. And their horchata is so good too. Now every time I'm craving nachos I send my husband to get me some lol the staff is also super friendly. Always a smile on their face and try to get you out as fast as they can when you order takeout. Totally recommend getting your Mexican food from here.

I live across the street from this place and decided to try it out one day. I'm glad I did. The food is . Waaaaayyy better than the spots nearby I always get a torta de asada, or tacos de alpastor and asada. The al pastor is good because it's not overbearing and dripping with a ton of oil/grease The meat is so flavorful and they give you a nice MEATY portion. I stay away from places that chop up their meat very small as it is a sign that the meat it rough and they're trying to make it easier to eat. Not this place tho. They hook it up with the good meat that doesn't have to much fat. The salsas are also very good. I like to ask for both and mix them together. Their horchata pairs well with the food too. I'm so glad this place opened up so close cuz now I don't have to travel far for some good Mexican food.

Fabulous neighborhood Mexican food! Their tacos are spectacular (especially the pescado!), and the pambazo is also fantastic. Their salsas are delicious, and they're super generous with them. Always super nice and friendly too!

Salsa and Chips was my neighborhood stop for a quick taco fix, so I was devastated when they closed. But the sadness quickly dissipated once Aztlan opened their doors! Their menu is short, but superb. The pambazo is out of this world, and their tacos are all incredible. Ingredients are fresh and flavorful. I'm shocked at how reasonable the price points are for their food given the quality. I hope this family owned and operated restaurant becomes a neighborhood fixture.

With so many Mexican places in the area it's always hard to trust that you will make a good choice but stumbling upon this place was GREAT! The menu is simple but they execute that menu VERY well! I've gone here 3 times within a week and a half! Meat is well seasoned and the guac is always fresh and delicious! Go here!

I recently ordered delivery from here through Grub Hub. I liked that they only charge minimal extra fees for additions to tacos. I refuse to eat at a restaurant that charges 50 cents or more additional for sour cream, and cheese, and avocado. That takes a $3 Taco and turns it into a $5 Taco and that's insane. The steak was good and not overly salty but had some fatty bounty pieces. I like that they included lime slices and plenty of red/green sauce WITHOUT charging extra. The pastor Taco was a bit of disappointment, the meat lacked flavor and didn't have the pineapple punch. Chicken taco was solid. The side of beans came with chips which was nice but they were very runny and didn't have much flavor . I like this restaurant but I usually order tostadas and I didn't see it on menu. Shrimp taco was really yummy as well.

We were looking for tacos in our neighborhood for Taco Tuesday, so I went to trusted Yelp and did a search and found this place. Being only 2 minutes from home, we gave it a shot. I walked in to this cozy place and was immediately greeted by all the friendly people working behind the counter. I looked over the menu and placed my order and they began making everything fresh. We did steak tacos, a pepper and cheese quesadilla, and 2 lime Jarritos to wash it all down. Our order was ready in under 10 minutes and was delicious! This place is a hidden gem here in Irving Park, easy to find, and easy to park on Montrose. Give it a shot. Can I get flour tortilla tacos next time?

Very bland food. Probably would not order from them again. However, they got my order correct which seems to be difficult for some places.

I got lucky finding Aztlan when I was craving tacos this evening and took a chance and sent in an online order for three tacos (two al pastor and one chorizo, no onions). The order was ready right when I arrived and staff were so nice and friendly. I went home and enjoyed every bite of my tacos. I liked the flavors of each of the meats and especially it had this nice char to it. I will definitely come back soon. Thanks for making a great meal for me!

I ordered on grubhub, that's how I found out about this place originally - I ordered two different times, because both times I was offered free delivery. I got the carne asada quesadilla. Let me just tell you. This is the most delicious quesadilla I have ever tasted in my entire life. I ordered it both times, the second time I ordered two bc I wanted to meet the minimum and I knew I could heat up the second one the next day and have ANOTHER delicious meal. I finished the first one and just cannot wait till tomorrow. My food was also delivered sooner than I was supposed to get it - both times. This is good sh*t!!!! If you're looking for delicious, REAL Mexican food, I suggest you order from here.
