Atlanta’s Restaurant Openings June | Eater Atlanta

"Opened as a permanent brick-and-mortar in Brookhaven on June 3 (with another outpost expected in Buckhead and a kiosk at Lenox Square planned for later this summer), the Cuban food truck by Alvaro Carta serves Cuban sandwiches, loaded fries, empanadas, piled-high pan con bistec, coffee, and desserts." - Henna Bakshi

Excellent authentic Cuban food. Recently I had lunch and enjoyed Chicken Empanadas which was outstanding. The atmosphere is fun and chill. I like the fact they use real silverware that not flimsy. I encourage folks to check this out for a good Cuban meal

Definitely worth the Drive! I live about 1 hour and 20 minutes but I went out of my way and it was definitely worth every bite! They give you a limited menu, which is the best part you have staple cuban foods to choose from and they are DELICIOUS! The portions are big! The food is made perfectly. The food has authentic Cuban flavors. If you have had Cuban food before you know the flavor says it all. Their drinks are really tasty, and well made, Hats off to the Bartender ! The staff is really nice, has great customer service, they make sure you are doing well and have everything you need, including the famous colada, cortadito, or even their desserts. Who is going to pass up guayaba con queso?!?! Or una croqueta?? I DIDN'T!

The has beautiful decor and great music. They were playing salsa so I was reminded of my years living in the Caribbean. The food was amazing. I especially loved the empanada guava & cream cheese. The staff were nice. It was a pleasant experience. You can visit with family and friends. The only thing to consider is that the parking is small and limited.

Amazing ropa vieja plate that came with salad, rice, beans and four sweet plantains. Small parking lot and I literally just saw it from being stuck at the redlight. Matheus was attentive and food came out in five minutes.

Service was great, atmosphere outside is wonderful, we had a beautiful day to enjoy. Food is good , I wouldn’t call it the best authentic Cuban food but it was tasty, portions are good and food is made fresh. We went for lunch on Sunday, and we will be going back for dinner.

Nice spot (aesthetic-wise). Honestly, food was just ok. I was looking forward to it but the Beef Empanadas were bland and the pork was super salty. Wanted to try something different on the menu, but my waitress didn’t seem to be well-versed in any of the items, so I stuck with what I knew.

I was highly disappointed. The atmosphere is amazing. The service was good. But the food... I had the Misitas de puerco, and it didn't come out the best. The pork wasn't seasoned but was instead overcooked and very dry. The beans, salad, and plantains were fine, with the exception of one piece of overcooked dry plantain. This type of food on the menu is traditional in this culture and many have probably had similar dishes with family. But unfortunately, this was not that. I had never heard of Azúcar before this, but from what I ordered, I can't give this one a recommendation.

This adorably decorated restaurant totally reminded me of home in Miami. After hunting high and low for real Cuban food in Georgia, we found this awesome place. Everything – the vibe, service, and food – was amazing. The frita (Cuban burger) was spicier than I'm used to in South Florida, but it was huge! Their coconut mojito, made with coconut milk, was surprisingly good – like a mojito-coquito mix. I did add a little lime juice for balance. I also tried a guava and cream cheese empanada (my first!) and a surprisingly big cortadito – both were delicious 😋 Even though it's a 1.5-hour drive, we're going back on a weekend for the live music. Did I mention there is a live tree in the middle of the restaurant. Yes! The restaurant surrounds the trunk of the 🌳
