Azul Mexican Grill

I ordered the chicken fajita salad and it was delicious 🙏 They gave me a generous serving of meat with my greens and it was very tender and flavorful. I normally need to add salt and pepper to my salads, but the one I got here didn’t need anything extra. Someone else in my group ordered the steak fajitas and they enjoyed it. Another plus about this place is the free chips and salsa you get shortly after ordering- not too greasy and seemed fresh.

The Cadillac margaritas were well-crafted, though at $20 each and served in modest-sized glasses, they’re best enjoyed slowly. Unfortunately, the chips were stale, which was a bit of a letdown. The place was extremely crowded—understandable, perhaps, as this was once my favorite restaurant in Visalia. It seems the secret is out

Fantastic! This was my first visit to Azul's and I can't wait to go back. The Chili Relleno de Cameron was the perfect dish to try first. It did not disappoint! The chili was stuffed to the max with perfectly cooked shrimp exploding with flavor smothered in a delicious sauce. The specialty drinks are beautiful! Tonight I had their version of a Cadillac Margarita. Perfection! The atmosphere is casual and romantic, with an exceptional menu and attentive staff. Highly recommend having your next dinner at Azul's. I'll be back soon!

Friendly staff, great food and drinks. For sure will be back for breakfast. Went back for the second time and its gonna be my go to. The bartender is awesome and attentive never a low beer with her around. New hours so check it out

This place has excellent service and good food. They serve fresh chips and salsa with a side of beans and cheese. It was fairly busy when I went to dine, but still had really good service. The server checked on us often and she was very accommodating and friendly. We felt very welcomed here and will definitely be back.

They bring out complementary delicious refried beans along with their amazing salsa and chips when you arrive. Everything I've had here is amazing. Unique enchilada sauces are bomb!

Not the best experience. The one bright side was it was Friday night and busy but they sat us right away. To start we did get chips and salsa quickly but then it went downhill. We ordered drinks and waters. I'll chalk it up to not being a regular, but the couple that came in 10/15 mins after got their drinks before us (both water and bar drinks). No one came to check on us for about 20 mins but the couple next to us was chatted up and hugged, then greeted by 4 different staff members. Finally got our drinks and they were wrong. We had to stop someone to take our order. I might be petty for counting but we were checked on once, the other couple I counted 10 times; they were literally 4ft away from us. With all that said, ambiance was nice, the chile verde I ordered was not spicy, more sweet but I will say still good. Portions were a little small but enough. Flautas were 6/10. Bar drink was 4/10. Not sure if I come back as I'm closer to other Mexican restaurants and I'd figured I would give this a try

Lydia that works the bar area and is also the bartender makes the best margaritas! They aren't cheap but has all the garnish. Like their Taco Wednesday and get their fish tacos. Ask for the green salsa, that works the best with the fish! Today it was 107' degrees in Visalia, CA so I wanted to have something cool & refreshing! I chose to get their 3 combination of shrimp, octopus, and abalone!! Not often you see abalone on the menu. Started with cheese and chicken quesadilla to have as an appetizer. Lydia is fast & attentive watching over the whole bar. Restaurant area was full tonight with a couple of parties. What I ordered is 4.5, But I too look for authentic food, and some items are Americanized and could have more flavor.

Had Delicious Fajitas at Azul tonight. My wife ordered a margarita. About a 8 to 10 ounce glass, Filled with solid ice. You couldn't even taste any Tequila. Yet who knows what brand tequila they use. With all the ice the drink tasted weak and watered down. When our bill came, it was listed as a 16oz Margarita which we didn't order. We asked our server if the bartender made a mistake. He said we only have one size margaritas and it's 16oz. Needless to say it's not 16oz. Even if it was, it wasn't worth $15.00. We have the same glasses at home. We measured the amount of water. 10oz without the ice. A total ripoff. Go to Azul for the food, Definitely not for their watered down margaritas. Almost the price of our food. TOTAL PRICE RIPOFF!

This time of year when it's cold we always get Albondigas soup. The service is always great and shout out to Tony and Lucy for taking care of our to go order. Azul's is always clean and very welcoming.

When you first walk in your welcomed with a nice hello. But then you realize the place is dark and quiet . You get bean dip and salsa and chips when you first sit down . But when it comes to a drink menus they don't have any but they have a full bar . They have a nice choice of food but when you get your food it's either cold or incorrect . The drinks were water down and they charged us 14.00 for a drink that they don't even have a menu for . The food isn't authentic , it's Americanized and not good at all . Reviews lead you to think it's good but overall, not a place I would recommend .

Just went to Azul on my lunch hour with coworkers. Warning.... If you only have a one-hour lunch think twice about eating here. If you are on a budget, think twice about eating here. Charged me an extra $3 for meat when the menu says it's included in the price. I admit, because this was a birthday celebration, most of us ordered a regular margarita. My tab....a little over $30!!! Price for margarita, $16! Service was 1-1/2 hrs. with no check in from waitress to see if everything was okay. I know eating out is more expensive now, but the combination of length of time, hidden fee and cost for a margarita just hit me wrong.

Great food and service One of our favorite places to eat. People are really sincerely interested in giving good service and food is unique and delicious

This place is absolutely amazing, we have been coming here for years and love the food, ambiance, service, and attention to detail. Everything here is made with 100% organic ingredients, fresh produce, this place is the epitome of farm to table movement. If you are interested in eating excellent Mexican cuisine, make this place your first and only stop. The service while it can take a little longer to get your food; is worth every minute once your order arrives. The bartender is also excellent at making drinks that will elevate your food just that much more. Support your local restaurants, and make Azul your next stop!

I don't see anybody beating her restaurant for the best tasting food in Visalia Azul is gonna be hard to beat the owner is the best friendly people the whole restaurant is friendly just really good people there's not one thing that I could complain about a perfect 10 let's Go Azul

The food was phenomenal! The service was a little slow. Only one main server for restaurant. They did have a couple of helpers and they did the best they could.

Owner is very sweet and accommodating. I think yelps rule of requiring 85 characters is prohibitive.

Food was fairly good, free chips, salsa and beans with each order. Came with a party of 4 and split a shrimp appetizer and 2 entrees (steak picado and mixed fajitas), small portions of protein in both of them unfortunately. 1 star review stems from the drink prices. We asked for a drink menu when we arrived and were told that they didn't have one (and drinks were not included on the regular menu). Not an issue normally, and we ordered a round of Cadillac margaritas for the table, and then got a light beer and a skinny margarita after. Once we received the bill realized that the Cadillacs were $20 each (as much as an individual entree) and the skinny margarita was $18 (the same cost as the appetizer). Very disappointed that the drinks were so much more than expected for the area and the cost was not acknowledged beforehand. The total bill was $180 which is way too much for the quality of food and drinks. Would not return.

The soup was perfect for a cold night. It was suggested to add a toasted/ground chili powder made in-house for the soup. If you like a very hot soup, highly recommend. It added flavor and awesome heat. I paired it with a raspberry margarita, so good!

Went here for dinner with friends and got seated right away on a Friday night. Staff was friendly and attentive. It was a bit hot considering we were inside and far away from the kitchen and they kept the place very dark. Margarita selection is probably one of the best in Tulare County offering both on the rocks and blended options on all their margaritas. Our table ordered the Fajita Azul, Chili Verde and Chimichurri Steak. Everything came out quick and tasted amazing. Everyone enjoyed themselves and I'm sure we will be back.

Ana is so great! She has a presence that is hospitable, caring, and humble. She connects with the clients . The service is great! I had not been her in a long time. She gets it right!. Coming back soon.

I am a avid going out to eat and find that gem. I still haven't found it but I'm sure it's gonna be soon! When we got there, there were a couple people at the bar a church group and us. A few more came about 5-10 mins after, so it wasn't busy. We sat, and sat and sat. After about 30-40 mins of waiting for our drinks. We FINALLY got to order ..... just our drinks tho. After sitting for an additional hour and half. We finally got our food after 2 hrs and it was cold, horrible and for it being the 1st time there. Disappointing. I wont be back. They could of at least comp'd our drinks cause thats all we could so for 1.5 hrs. i was ready to leave. i wont be back. if I am back watch for my clipboard!

First dining experience here. Seated promptly. Server was thoughtful and lowered the blinds so we weren't blinded by the sun. Typical wooden table and chairs. No booths but the chairs are padded on your tushy. Pet peeve of mine is if the light fixtures hanging over the table are crusty with dust and unfortunately it was. The fixtures and hanging lights are really pretty but they need to be cleaned. Server was very sweet but not attentive. We waited a long time to be asked if we'd like another drink but that was my only complaint about the service. They were not busy at all. Maybe it was her break time. The food was Excellent!!! We were brought chips salsa and beans. The salsa was not typical. It had an all most Italian flavor. Like tomato sauce. If you got a bite with cilantro and I think cucumber it added the Mexican flavors. I could have picked up the empty little bowl of beans and cheese and licked it clean. Lol. Drinks were a little skimpy on the alcohol. I'm s light weight and I had two and didn't catch a buzz. Husband had pork enchiladas with avocado sauce and he cleaned his plate and said they were delicious. I had the Azul fajitas and wow they were amazing! Meat was so tender and the portion was huge. Thank you for a wonderful dinner.

Tried for the first time this past weekend, I would say overall this place is ok. The food was ok, not authentic. Service was great, food came out fast. I just don't see myself coming back.

My husband ordered the chimichurri steak and I had the chicken pineapple salad. He loved his meal. The chicken on my salad was bland. Tasted like Tyson's grilled chicken from a bag. The service was outstanding. Very attentive and friendly.

Was scared to come because of reviews and as expected the service was terrible. Yelp never lies LOL I ordered the steak and it was good not great. It's typical over priced Mexican food spot. I'm more of a whole in the wall place. I ordered a spicy mango margarita and it was good! 3 stars because you get what you expected here. Your paying for the presentation and the ambiance. My suggestion is order some apps and drink from their bar.

Mediocre food and terrible service. Our party didn't really mind because we were enjoying ourselves and talking. But I minded, the food time took over an hour for a chimichanga, 3 burritos, quesadillas and drinks. I asked on many occasions for them politely change the channel to the 49ers game. It took them over 20 minutes to get to my request, and sadly the first quarter was over. I wasn't really excited or thrilled to come back so I give it a 3 stars.

There was quite a bit of mixup with the drinks, but I happens. We were seated quickly had a table of 14, friendly service. I love to get tacos from different restaurants, to see how they do their Asada, and yeah it's different every time. But still good, so I will keep this place in mind to visit again and try something new

I'm Mexican and this is our family's favorite Mexican restaurant in Visalia. Good authentic food, drinks, and ambiance.

Delicious authentic Mexican food. Appetizer Camarones Costa Azul so delicious and Chimichurri Steak was cooked perfectly. Great drinks and service.

I rate this 5 because the fries n chiken nuggets were bussin and the custumer aervice was good also the food came really quick

I have to admit, I was seriously disappointed in the food. Just the name alone calls to you "eat here, we have the most delicious food you ever tasted " I was really excited to come. I ordered the carne asada burrito with green sauce and the portion was on point, but not the flavor..so very bland, and the side salad was not that great either. The price of my plate was high considering the lack of flavor. The ambience is very nice and clean, so I felt very comfortable eating. The patrons were nice, kept to themselves..and customer service was good. I dont think I'll be back sadly..maybe for a drink in the bar.

3 stars only because the food is fantastic. We went there the other evening. It was a party of 20 but that shouldn't be the reason. The waitress took orders in batches 1/3 of the table and received their order first ate half before 2 set came to the table in which the 3rd section was barely getting their order taken 1 hr and 30 minutes later we received our food. Since we were a party of 20, we were forced to pay gratuity. I'm very disappointed.

This place serves very tasteful dishes. The beans and salsa are a hit! Had the steak Ribeye with Chimichurri and chorizo beans so delicious! The atmosphere and service was great.

New to the area and we found this amazing restaurant and have returned numerous times. The food is always delicious and the service is on point. Lydia is the best bartender and server if you sit in the bar area. There is also plenty of restaurant seating available.

This is a great little neighborhood place. Service is quick and friendly with a nice outdoor ambience due to Covid. The appetizers can be full meals because they are so filling. All ceviche is great and tastes fresh. The pulled pork quesadilla is a real winner! You can get without beans too. The same severs are normally there and offer a cool friendly vibe. They also do a killer spicy mango margarita.

After a afternoon of helping friends move to their apartment, happy hour at Azul was a wise choice

a couple weeks ago I picked up food for a friend and I. I kept thinking what is wrong with my chicken and bean burrito? She looks at me and said, " You don't have beans in it!!!" seriously. its funny it is so ridiculous. I was enjoying talking with her and never looked down and inspected it. I called twice. As usual no answer. I also bought the gift cars book ( will never do that again) and it had get a burger free with one. lol I see why. They are the size of a toddler's burger. They have messed up before and never make it right. Most of the time its ok. At least its reasonable. one more not: I got tacos when not on sell, and on sell. They are smaller on sell.

It was our first time trying this place and thankfully during COVID, they are still able to serve food on their patio. We had to wait 15 minutes to be seated but the service once we sat down was extremely fast. We had our drinks and chips with salsa AND bean dip immediately. I love that they give you 2 options for dipping your chips in cuz mixing the two was delicious. I ordered one puntas tacos cuz I had to see what the rave is about and it was very good. I definitely would order again. I also got the mixed fajitas and everything was cooked perfectly. I will definitely be back to eat again and hopefully when this covid is over I can go during their awesome drink specials everyone talks about.

As soon as I entered, It amazed me because of how nice it looked, the waiter was really nice, Erick made sure to get us everything we needed, such as refills, and more appetizer, and the food was really enjoyable, must recommend.

I have ordered from here a couple of times for take out, food has always been excellent. Decided to go in with my family for dinner and was shocked at how nice it is inside! Loved the atmosphere with many other families enjoying some drinks and great food. Our food came out in a timely manner and staff was friendly. Will be coming back again and again to enjoy!

Tried the Azul Fajitas. One small piece of some kind of Fatty Beef, 4 thin slices of Chicken Breast and 3 Shrimp On top of a ton of Sautéed Onions and Sautéed Bell Peppers. No seasoning....Tasteless. 2 Tortillas. Not 4 $20 Dollars. A total waste of money.

A staple for our family! My in-laws visit Azuls at least once a week, and we visit frequently as well. We are so happy to have a staple Mexican restaurant to visit in Visalia. Azuls staff appreciate retuning patrons and work hard during their service. Some favorite orders: -Chicken Fajitas, add the avocado&cilantro sauce -Sopitos with carne asada -Chicken enchiladas suizas, this green sauce is the way to go -Chicken flautas appetizer, comes with a delicious salsa Chips, beans, and salsa are served when you are seated which is a big plus! Personal drink favorite is a blackberry margarita - the blackberry purée is muddled in house. Enjoy your time at Azuls!!!

I love family owed business. Azul is a fabulous Mexican restaurant. You want fast service this is not your place but you want to enjoy flavorful cuisine this is it. It very consistent in their dishes served so you don't have guess will it be good next you order it. Friendly service and they will you tell an honest opinion of their food to meet your taste buds. Recently discovered that their breakfast choice on the weekend are fantastic. Best of all if you want to spice it up just tell them.

Service was slow. Asked for water multiple times. Didn't get a water till about 30 mins into being sat. We ordered two entrees and a jalapeño margarita. Margarita was very good. Server only brought out one entree. Claiming didn't hear us order two? He asked multiple times what type of tortillas I wanted and still didn't bring them out with my meal. Husband and I ended up sharing the fajitas because he didn't even offer to comp my husbands meal that he never put in or brought out. Super disappointing. I will say the fajitas Azul were good.
