Azuls Taco House Downtown

This place is awesome! The flavor of the tacos were off the charts. I got the surf and turf taco (which I love that they fried the shrimp!!), the Kobe taco (which was so many layers of flavor), and the chile rellano taco which was probably my least favorite of the two, but still good! Prices were super reasonable, and the chips were nice and crunchy. My only real complaint was that it took a bit to get them, but definitely worth the wait. The salsa was so so flavor wise, but all around solid experience!! Will definitely go back.

Azul’s Taco House is a creative and delicious tacos joint showcasing the chef's innovative flair. They have an abundance of choices of tacos to pick from, kinda makes it overwhelming. But, I would rather have more choices than too few. The atmosphere is lively and inviting, making it a must-visit for taco lovers seeking something new and exciting

The craft tacos are all amazing. Fiesta poppers were great too. Good drink selection. Service is fine. Prices are quite expensive. Gordita was actually pretty bad. I will definitely return for the tacos every once in a while, great location in downtown Salem. We definitely loved the chicken Thai taco and the cheese curd taco.

I just visited 2 days ago and I'm updating my review. The staff was very helpful when I walked in. They have a tremendous variety of tacos and seeming endless customizations. I ordered two tacos off the menu and asked for advice. She told me they had just created a new taco and suggested I try it! It was amazing. Taste was good, the presentation was good, and the location is well maintained.

Huge variety of Taco, like so many I wish I had a bigger stomach or more friends to try there Taco's Cheese Curd Tacos- Yum Spicy Chicken Teriyaki Tacos - perfect mix of Sweet and spicy Bulgogi Tacos- sounded good but it was just to salty for me to enjoy Connect to a cider joint, looking for drinks they have it all

Absolutely outstanding!! I was attending a conference and came here for lunch yesterday. It was so good. I ordered here again today and will be back tomorrow on the last day of the conference. Reasonable prices, generous food portions, and excellent quality food. Thankfully, I'm local and can put this on my go-to frequently list!

Great place got 3 tacos asada with rice and beans and 1 tostada with carnitas The only complaints I have are small, the salsas I was given were small, and weren't given options, just what I was handed, and they weren't very spicy etheir The meats on everything I'll say are great quality the asada and carnitas great quality meats only wish the asada had more flavor didn't seems seasoned but wasn't the end of the world loved the rice and beans in a half and half bowl The workers were great, and the patient and communication were great The place was clean and calm for Tuesday at noon. I definitely recommend it and will be back for only 18$

This is the best, consistent taco place in Salem. Always serving great, quality food, at a decent price and without much of a wait. Next to La Familia, this is an excellent place to get lunch or dinner while sipping on your favourite cider. I've been here so many times and never had a bad experience, and there are always new and unique specials to try.

Great idea for Azuls Taco House to be sharing space with La Famila Cider. It's always busy but the wait times aren't long. The food is good and you get plenty of it. Big kudos

First off, I loved the vibe going in (Zack brown band was playing) and then see la familia working. That's what makes the food taste even better. I got a vampiro taco a tostada with steak I just can't remember the other taco I ordered but it was amazing and the best part of the service was they didn't have the big tostada so they brought me two medium sized tostadas which was awesome.

So I love Mexican food, there's nothing better for me than a place that offers awesome tacos. I want this review to be short and sweet, this place has awesome tacos. I went and had dinner here last night and I'm going back for lunch later on today . This is a family restaurant, I believe it's a couple of brothers and even their kids working in the front. When you come to Oregon make sure you get off the five freeway in Salem and come get some of the best tacos you've ever had My only complaint about this restaurant if there's any complaints is that they have a very strange and a very unique drink menu. I don't understand why they don't offer a better choice of beer and a better choice of soda. Even bottled water for that matter ! All I can tell you is I can't wait to eat here again, I'm going to post this review on Google as well as the Facebook taco page, "show us your taco "

Impossible to find. I followed the map and couldn't find the place for the life of me. I walked around that block twice. I might try again and update my review if I can find it.

I've had their burritos, tacos, and tonight we got their Quesadilla platter to serve a group! I've never been disappointed, and tonight was no different. The unexpected champion was the grilled veggie quesadilla. They had some interesting new tacos on the menu, so I'll need to go back soon!

Sign on the counter says "this is not fast food" it kind of is, quality wise, just not the fast part. We got four different kinds of tacos that sounded good but were meh. 45 minutes to get food and the place was almost dead. They could do with a review of efficiency in their processes and maybe use fewer canned foods. Staff unhurried and matter of fact. Not friendly, not unfriendly. We tipped well anyway.

Sad to write this update... Returned and ordered takeout. They were very busy and service was prompt and friendly. However when we got home we found my chicken tacos smelled like legit cat meat/wet dog. My husband gagged trying them and said something was wrong. We called them to let them know their chicken might be off and they were dismissive and unapologetic. I saddened by this experience.

Went in because we heard from a few people that this place was good. Was happy to see their menu had many options and on their wall it's says "hecho en mexico" I guess I went in with too high expectations. I got the surf and turf tacos and the meat and shrimp was over cooked and had absolutely no flavor also the tortillas were cold. My fiancee ordered the carne asada fries and same thing meat is over cooked and the fries tasted like the cheap frozen ones from Walmart. As a Latina I was disappointed but also as having beena server and waitress myself the staff was not welcoming, seems as a family owned restaurant they must of had the daughter as the server, after thanking her each time no response, when putting in our order no hello welcome how are you today, nothing. That seemed to be saved for their regulars since they feel the need to keep them. Definitely do not recommend.

The tacos are delicious ,This place is quite unique and definitely one of my favorite spots !

If you are wanting a good beer, or cider go here. If you want good food, and fast avoid at all costs. If I could do less than 1 star I would. After almost 2 hours I went to check the status of our order. I mean it had been almost 2 hours for 3 tacos and some chips, so I feel that's a justified reason to check in. When I attempted to ask I was interrupted with " We'll bring it when it's ready." When I tried to implement that it'd been almost 2 hours, I was interrupted again with "We'll bring it when it's ready." To try and make up for the fact it took 2 hours to get our food we were given cold fries in an attempt to make things right. So go here for beer or cider, definitely not food!

What a great place for tacos in the Salem, OR, area. We went to Azul's Taco House in Downtown Salem this evening and enjoyed some of the best tacos I can remember. I had a delicious Fish Taco. But the Chile Relleno Taco and Cheese Curd Taco were mind-blowing (or tastebud-blowing) amazing. I would highly recommend it. This location shares a common dining area with La Familia Hard Cider which has an excellent selection of Ciders and Craft Beer. Great service tonight too!

Super good tacos and burritos would definitely recommend. It's connected to la familia cider house it's spacious with great drinks. Only complain is sometimes there's a pretty long wait, but once you get the food, you realize it's worth it. Owner is very cool and super nice.

We asked someone at the park across the street where we could get good tacos and Azul's taco house was suggested. We're glad we came. I ordered the burrito bowl with steak and 3 carne asada street tacos. All very satisfying. Thank you. Definitely will stop by again!

Not so great. The tacos weren't good enough that I'd come back. Chips were really stale and bland. Didn't get the salsa that came with my order. The place was okay for a cheap lunch stop, but not ideal. All tables were dirty also. I'd like to give more stars and am empathetic to the industry taking a hit in the past few years. But it wasn't busy there at all and they seemed to have ample staff working. Maybe I just missed a big crowd and they hadn't had a chance to clean up after? Either way, the tacos just weren't great.

First I am not from the area I live in so cal! And I know a thing or two about Mexican food! And I want to say this place has great Mexican food! The owner and chief T was awesome host and spent time explaning the tacos I ordered, what inspired him to make it and the flavors he was going for. His love for food and family shows! With his son working with him to the pride and time he puts into his food! I am definitely coming back every time I am in town.

not only was the food so terribly served and made, both the father and son gave me looks as I ate the food in disgust since they knew what they did. They don't have any idea how to cook food or work in a service setting. I hope it wasn't a racial issue as I was the only minority eating, or if the father or son have a grudge with me, but they gave me the worst service they could've. watching me as I eat their disgusting food was not on my list that day.

Food and service is fantastic. Love the atmosphere. You have to try the Surf and Turf tacos they are to die for!!!

We had the fish tacos. Excellent aïoli and pico de gallo flavor. Not necessarily huge portions, but adequate. Taco shells were only 4 inches diameter.. We will return to eat here again. Next time we plan on ordering drinks from their adjoining cider company called La Familia.

I have been here several times and every time their food has been top notch! I have come on both busy and not so busy times. Innovative and traditional tacos to serve all your taco needs. The service is always friendly, even when they are slammed. Chef T is the MAN! He runs a solid spot-knows his product and shows pride in his craft! A small group of us wandered in at closing time and had resigned ourselves to hitting up a different spot once we saw the closed sign on the counter. His son recognized us as regulars and advised him that we came in and left since it was past hours. He came out after us as we walked down the block and said he would still cook for us! Chef T, you just earned yourself some loyalist. You made us a delicious meal and stayed open beyond hours to accommodate the late comers. Respect! If you haven't checked them out-please do, local spots like this deserve our support.

It's hard to mess up nachos, but even harder to elevate them. These nachos were great for sharing. This carne asada was incredible, the wait was as expected on a Friday night (they appear to have more chefs working than before), and I've been craving these nachos ever since. Will definitely be going back soon!

Sorry guys. This was a miss. The tacos were just not good. Fish tacos was bland and overly "fishy" old tasting. Chicken taco was mush in a tortilla and the steak queso taco was just bland. The only flavor coming through was salt. Portions are large and our kids seemed to like the bean and cheese burritos but said they prefer other places in town. The Cali Burrito was the only thing with flavor other than salt. It was pretty decent, this the second star. No wait time issues or customer service issues as others have suggested, just sub par food. Will not return :(

Cool place and they make the everything by hand even pressing the tacos! Good selection and they also have margaritas! Friendly staff and clean facilities. Recommend!

Tried the Bulgogi tacos. They were good, but leaned a tad more on the heat. Building has plenty of seats, but seating is "community style". Would recommend coming here when you have time to wait for food, not when you have somewhere to go. Giant design flaw for Azuls: There is NO menu board anywhere in building. They only have a small menu taped to the counter that you can read only once you get to the counter. So, people do this and take FOREVER to order. You need to hang a menu that people can read BEFORE they get up to counter.

Tried the bulgogi, chicken and steak street tacos. The tortillas look to be made from scratch, and they have green and red salsa options. The meat was too salty for my taste - no salsa or other condiments added. The onions provided in the tacos are red onions. There is a $1 charge for "to-go orders". The food was not worth the wait or the price.

I am shocked that there isn't more five star reviews. This place is the best taco place in town, hands down! I haven't had a bad taco and I have tried most of them. Today I had a new menu item, the spicy cucumber. It's a healthier version of chips and guacamole. It's was super yummy and I'd get it again.

Food was as always amazing. Besides the point I stepped in a huge pile of dog poop. Really killed the vibe.

Azul's is a near-perfect taco shop. Is it authentic Mexican cuisine? No. But it is influenced by Mexican street tacos with an added delectable creative twist. It's that innovative spin that makes Azul's what it is. My advice: the more adventurous you're willing to go, the happier you'll be.

Haven't had a thing I didn't like! The service is always amazing and you can tell they care about their customers. The food is AMAZING. Always playing some good music and ultimately a great place to have taco Tuesday.

Really amazing and flavorful tacos! We were so happy with the selection, especially for vegetarian options. I'm only giving it 3 stars because they didn't have any salsa or sauces to give us and that's my favorite part about taco shops! And there was nowhere to sit, so the ordering/waiting was a bit awkward. I would also like more heat options - make it spicy! Overall, pretty good for tacos in Salem!

I dined here back in August and everything was fantastic. Ordered up at the counter inside and outdoor seating was available. They were busy but service was friendly and quick. Plus the food was delicious. I crave these tacos of often. Definitely will come back.

I tried both the chicken and steak street tacos and they both sucked! The chicken tasted like it was a few days old, the steak is a cheap, grisly made meat. Again it was not very good. I would not recommend this place to eat unless you are drunk and don't care what you eat. Again not very good.

The carné asada tacos are fireeee, theyre made with homemade tortillas toooo so not that weak tortilla, you do wait a bit but its worth it for the foood that comed hot n not cold

My wife and I patiently waited in line for more than five minutes last night. When we finally get to the front of the line, the person who was taking orders at the register walked away and another woman walked up to tell us they weren't taking anymore orders. This made us feel bad. Part of the reason we felt so bad is we used to eat pretty regularly at Azul's on Edgewater and the woman who was initially taking orders recognized us immediately and smiled, but for some reason didn't go ahead and inform us they weren't taking any more orders and let us stand there only to be turned away several minutes later.

Good tacos for a decent price. Good atmosphere and consistent. The service isn't as great and the wait is usually pretty long but worth the tacos.

I ordered the cheese enchiladas.... Which had no cheese in it. Food had no flavor at all. Luckily La familia was in the same building so I could get drunk enough to forget this experience.

My advice is order ahead unless you have a lot of time. Waited over 30 minutes for my tacos. Service was friendly though. I ordered a fish taco, 3 out of 10, barrio, 6 out of 10, and Thai, 8 out of 10. My husband had spicy pork street tacos. He gives an 8. Been wanting to try this place for a while. Was good and I'd try it again, probably the West location.

You just have to try this place!!! Great flavors in all 6 different Tacos we tried. We moved here from Tucson Az a few years ago and have been jonesing for great tacos ever since. We are no longer searching this is the place.

Waited over an hour to get two -way to salty- tacos and a plate of nachos. Had to ask where our food was twice. Not worth the wait

Overall a very subpar experience. I really wanted to love this place because their menu has different tacos like the bulgogi taco and vampire taco, but I think there are just too many items that their consistency can't stay on point. We tried a multitude of things which varied from excellent to not good-and the consistency was overall very poor since 3 of us ordered a volcano taco with asada and all 3 came out with different amounts of stuff on top and also different things. One had pico, cilantro and onion, one had only meat and tomato, mine had everything except cilantro. It was just odd. Overall I would say maybe it was an off day? Maybe they have too many cooks in the kitchen? The staff was also very busy chatting instead of actually working so maybe there was that? Who knows-but overall not terrible, and not great.

Literally my favorite taco place in Salem 10/10 would recommend. The place is a little small and not much seating inside especially if it's full but the food is great and you can get some drinks as well.

So the tacos were great but they were not worth the nearly two hour wait. I placed our order online at 6:10 last night. Pick up was scheduled for 7:35. I thought it was kind of crazy it was scheduled for over an hour later just for some tacos but appreciated the heads up so didn't rush over there to pick up. Got there at 7:35 and they hadn't even started our order yet. It was another 30 minutes before our food was finished- Nearly two hour after the order was placed.

Great menu options, awesome food, but needs better staffing. Let me explain, staff was friendly and polite but they need more people to help in the kitchen. My wife and I waited over an hour for a few tacos. Luckily the beer and cider next door is quick.

Tino and his crew made the tacos just they way I liked them, customer service is excellent, they were quick with my order and I would recommend this restaurant/ business to anyone especially on taco Tuesday!!!!!! Thanks for the tacos Tino and crew

Cool place and vibes! The tortillas seem to be made fresh and the tacos were absolutely delicious! I'll absolutely be back to support such a great spot.

The two times I've ordered online I had great customer service. This time around it was not that way. There is currently no menu board like there used to be so you have to wait until you get to the counter to see the options. My friend and I ordered one burrito bowl with asada, and the three taco plate with rice and beans. I wasn't given a order number nor was I given an estimate time when I paid. Thirty minutes pass, and I see that multiple people are having to go up to the counter to see when their food is coming out. When I go up, I'm asked about a order number to which I reply, I didn't get one. They gave me an estimate of 10 mins, and it was 25 mins later that we received our food with a muttered stressed out sorry about that. The tortillas are made fresh so that is a plus, but the asada in the burrito bowl was mostly fat, and the fish for the tacos wasn't very warm. Not worth the hour wait. I understand where this job can get stressful having done catering the majority of my life, but the lack of communication and judgement for not apparently grabbing a order number I had no idea about are why I won't return again.

Food takes forever, they lost our order, and they have stale chips. I LOVE La Familia, which is in the same building. It is the only reason I eat the Azul's food. Their food tastes awful. I'm done no more.

This has quickly become one of our go to places. We have had about 10 of their tacos and have loved them all. Great food and great place to enjoy a afternoon with friends. Another part we love is that La Familia Cider shares the building so can enjoy tacos while grabbing a drink.

I love eating here! Their tacos are fabulous. Service is always with a smile! I enjoy the friendly family atmosphere.

Seriously tacos these are some of the best tacos in the area. The Staff is so accommodating and friendly. Azul's is always busy no matter what time of day so be ready to chill for a few. They have a great beer and cider collection too. We didn't try ths cocktails but the ones that went past us looked great. We have been eating here almost 2x a month!
