I dare say, I may have found my favorite taco shop is Salem. The last time I found a taco place with what I would describe as "luxury tacos", that being incredibly unique ingredient specialty tacos, that place charged nearly $8 per taco.
In comparison Azules has a standard price of $4.25 per taco on these specialty tacos. Which is beyond a great price. Especially for the quality of food you are getting.
I had 4 different tacos to a total of $17.
From left to right
The "El Capiton", which is a bacon and shrimp taco. The Choruqueso taco, kind of a staple of great street tacos. The Short Rib taco, that had tender and flavorful meat, and the "Surf and Turf" taco which is a Steak and Shrimp taco.
All tacos had perfectly distinct flavor profiles and offered a pleasant diversity in taco dressings. The shrimp they use is a battered and fried shrimp that while it may is slightly larger pieces than you would expect on a street sized taco, was amazing in flavor and cook.
The steak in the Surf and Turf was diced to the perfect size for a street taco. My personal favorite was 100% the El Capiton. Something about bacon and shrimp together just works. And the sauce they put on it blends those flavors very smoothly.
I didn't get to try it but with regards to the Short Rib taco, they offer a Korean BBQ Bolgogi version which I have to imagine is pretty awesome. And I will try it in the future.
If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Great prices, great tacos. Will absolutely be going again.
